Deirdre has an impromptu party aboard the Siren’s Song
IC Date 03.12.23
Players Clementine, Dasia, Deirdre, Erin, Janneke, Jenny, Kieran, Sark, Sebastian
Location The Siren’s Song
Spheres Changeling, Mage

The ship is filled with the smell of fresh seafood being cooked. Deirdre and Molly are in the galley, working on some plates. They mostly have shellfish: oysters, muscles, clams, and scallops. Deirdre goes over to give the dragon a glomp at running speed. "HEYA!"

Sark steps onto the deck to get a snootful of the lovely smells and is halfway into a, "Hello...?" when he gets tackleglomped, staggering back a step and snickering as he gives Deirdre a hug. When he finally sets her back down on her feet, he grins, "And I missed you too! Wasnt hard to find your boat, just followed my nose. I hope that means things are going well?"

"Oh, yeah, things are going great. I got a new crew member, but don't worry, he's in on everything. And I am about to phone Kee to get her ass over here to sample shellfish. She's woefully uninformed." She gets out her phone and starts to send a text <Phone> (Text to Kieran) Hey, you wanna come over and try some shellfish?

He laughs a little more at that and winks, "Free fresh seafood? I think most of the people I know would teleport here if you called them. And if you start running low, I dont mind heading out with you later and helping catch some of the bigger ones. Tuna tend to be fat enough I can catch, the smaller bastards are too nimble." Janneke has arrived. A light knock comes on the door to the stateroom; JJ, it seems, decided to stop by with a basket of food, because gods and tiny fishes alike know nobody can feed themselves without a Boggan around, right? "Hi, is this a good time?"

"So, I know for us faeries, there's the mists that keep dreamers from seeing us, or really understanding what is going on. How is it with you? Can you fly over the city as a dragon and people will just not see you because they don't believe in you?" Deirdre is talking to Sark below decks in no particular spot. The whole forward part of the ship smells like fresh seafood being cooked. "Juniper! Yeah, come on in. Come on in." She smiles. "Sometimes, I think the dreaming knows when I am doing things and decides that I need company." <Phone> (Kieran to you) Hey... sure, yeah. Listen, I got someone crashing at my place, looks like maybe they could use some food. Mind if I bring them along? <Phone> (Text to Kieran) Sure. They in on things, or do I need to tell Sark and JJ and Molly to keep things down low?

Sark turns around to look at the sound of someone else, perking one brow, then smiling warmly as he sees JJ and her basket, "Its ALWAYS a good time for baked goods!" He shakes his head slightly at Deirdre's question, "Unfortunately...I dont have anything like that to help me. If someone normal sees me...they will remember it and probably panic. If word gets around, the wrong people are going to hear it and suddenly Im going to have an assault team on my island looking to take the monster down. So yeah, have to be very very careful. FOruntately, Caressa made me some candies that will make me actually invisible for a while, JUST in case I have to bust out the wings in an emergency."

<Phone> (Kieran to you) aaah... yeah, no, they're not, so... yeah, you should. Damn, s'a freakin' party over there, huh?

Janneke laughs brightly. "I have some of Clem and Persy's baked goods with me. And whatever you're cooking smells like it would go nicely with the sourdough bread I brought." She pops in, smiling at the friendly dragon, and says, "The Dreaming just knows everything, and if you know how to ask it right, it might even tell you some of it." She giggles, and says, "Caressa made you the One Ring Candies? Neat! Someday I need to learn that trick myself..." She pauses, and adds, "It's got to seem like a really unfriendly world to you, given everything."

<Phone> (Text to Kieran) Yeah, so hurry up before the food is gone!

<Phone> (You to Kieran) It's a party! So hurry up before the food is gone!

"Okay, I have just one important question," Deirdre asks, eyeing the food that Juniper brought. "Anything with chocolate?" She's sniffing it . . . like the sea pupper she is. Unlike regular doggos, though, Deirdre doesn't get sick eating it.

Kieran has arrived.

Jenny has arrived.

Sark and JJ are below decks with Deirdre and Molly. It seems that food is the theme of the day, with the smell of baked good and cooked seafood wafting through the decks and even onto the dock Janneke hmphs. "Of *course* there's chocolate," JJ offers with a chuckle. "Would I come without chocolate?" She opens the basket; there's a nice selection of baked goods. Featuring, of course, chocolate cookies and cupcakes. She looks up as Kieran and Jenny enter, and calls out, "Hey, Kee! Hello, new friend! I'm JJ." Because she's just that friendly.

Sark bounces forward a step or two to give JJ a kiss to the cheek, before straightening up and clasping his hands behind his back. He rolls a shoulder a little at the question and murmurs, "The world is just a little cold and painful. I think I had gotten used to it, because the first time I stepped into that other place it felt so WONDERFUL, you know?" He pauses when more faces arrive, grinning at Kieran and offering an enthusiastic wave, "Hihi!"

Deirdre quickly whispers to Sark and JJ and Molly that the new girl with Kee is "Not in the Know."

Jenny has connected.

Kieran arrives after a little while, having stopped at her apartment to collect Jenny with a 'hey, you want some good seafood?' She also arrives bearing gifts: two take-home boxes. "Hey... " She pauses as Jenny comes in behind her, to say, "This is Jenny... Jenny, I think you might remember Sark? And this is Deirdre... it's her ship... and JJ. Deirdre... is there somewhere I can re-heat these without screwing things up? They're from Caught in Amber..." She shoots Sark a glare, "And no hogging them."

At the sight of chocolate cookies and cupcakes, the red-headed woman takes one and positively gobbles it down. "Oh, fuck me, so good. I miss you chocolate. I miss you so much." She sighs, then waves to Keiran. "Heya, come on in. We have great food. Also, what is Caught in Amber?" She points Kee to the Galley. "Oven, stove, fryer, microwave, sous vide. One of those should work, yeah?"

Sark holds up his hands and even giggles a little when Kieran tells him not to hog them, "Wont touch! Promise. Though I might stop by there on the way home to get more of them. She laces them with drugs, she has to." He gives Jenny an enthusiastic wave and grins, "Hello again! Were you able to work out living arrangements?" He does, instead, reach out to snag a cookie and breaks a piece off of it to pop into his mouth. Jenny had been perfectly fine getting some local take out, but when her unexpected room lord had made the offer for good seafood the lanky woman had taken a brief moment to look around the space she was occupying and shrugged. "Fuck it, sure." And that was that. Now that she was onboard the Siren's Song one might expect her to look a bit like a fish out of water, but her features were placid, almost unreadable as she surveyed the people she was about to hang out with. "Hey." Her tone casual as she noticed Sark and then offered an upnod to the rest. "Hope I'm not intruding, I was told there was some solid seafood on offer, didn't feel like it was an opportunity I could resist."

Janneke says, “Hi, Jenny, it's good to meet you." She waves and opens the basket to share. Lots of baked goods within, from sweets to a fresh-baked loaf of bread. "Nah, always good to meet new friends. So how'd you meet Sark and Kee? Don't mind me, I'm nosy as hell, but I don't mean to be obnoxious, so if it gets too much, just say so."”

Kieran says, “She totally does." And with that, Kieran's off toward the oven, to start moving the two (and a half) orders of stuffed mushrooms into something that won't melt as they're heated up.

"Amber is Caressa's joint. It's a nice place, even if getting there is a hellish exercise in masochistic self-abuse... but omg, the shrooms are so worth it...”

Sark grins at Jenny and nods, "Absolutely. Free fresh seafood. I told Captain Sunny D here that people would be teleporting onto the boat as soon as they heard her." With that said, he bounces over to the food again, perusing the options before snagging another little munchie.

"I don't think I have had the pleasure of meeting Caressa. But a restaurant? Does she serve seafood? Does she already have a supplier? Is there a reason it's not me?" But that can wait, a new person! Deirdre jump-skips-darts to just in front of the new girl and then removes an imaginary tri-corner hat, flourishing it with a bow. "Madam, I am Captain Deirdre O'Brien, Skipper of Siren's Song, at your service!" She's got a huge grin on her face. One might get the impression that she's overjoyed to meet someone new, like a big, lovable golden lab, or something. "Welcome aboard. And you were told correctly, we have a veritable feast, since Kieran said that she's never had oysters before. So, we have oysters, Rockefeller and raw, mussels in a white wine sauce with pasta, garlic-butter steamed clams, and seared scallops. And because I need a pair of boots made, some stingray." Deirdre points to the dishes that she and her cousin have been cooking.

Dasia has arrived.

Clementine has arrived.

Juniper, Sark, Jenny, Kieran, Deirdre, and Deirdre's cousin Molly are below decks. There's a small of cooked seafood wafting through the decks.

Jenny Takes a few moments as she shrugged off her puffer jacket, revealing an old pair of dark demin jeans and a tank top that said 'Give Sarcasm a Chance.' on it. She tossed her coat over the back of whatever available chair there might be and seated herself, rubbing hands in leather gloves up and down her legs for a moment. As she took in the space. %R "We crossed paths last night at the Caught in Amber. I needed a space to crash while my vehicle's being fixed and she offered." She shrugged. "Guess Im the stray who followed her home, and now to a buffet." A slight smile creeping across her lips as she looked over and eyed the food. %R It was at that moment that the Captain of the vessel bounded up and offered her own greeting. For a moment Jenny sits there, meeting the other woman's gaze with a look of uncertainty, mingled with intrigue and confusion before her lips finally quirked up and she nodded. "Uhh wow, ok thank you. Nice to meet you. I'll make sure to give it all a try."

Sebastian has arrived. Clementine saw people heading this way from the tea shop, and she gathered some goodies in a basket and brought them along because you can /never/ have too many! She calls ahead that she is boarding and makes her way to where the people are! "Afternoon! Who is ready for some fresh scones and cookies? I've got the March specials!" The boggan hostest is always ready to share. Sark grins at Deirdre, "I...actually don’t know, but next time I talk to her, I'll ask. Im sure she'd love a fresh fish hookup. She's...pretty big on organics and fresh things." Oh, but then Clementine is arriving as well, causing Sark to giggle again, "Oh, Im gonna have to make a couple extra laps around the island at this rate...."

Jenny just looked at you.

At the sight of Clementine, Deirdre goes over to enthusiastically hug the woman. "Chocolate? Anything chocolate? I gave up chocolate for lent. Talk about carrying my cross. And welcome aboard, Clementine. We've got a shellfish dinner set up, since Kieran hasn't had oysters. Ever. So, we have oysters, Rockefeller and raw, mussels in a white wine sauce with pasta, garlic-butter steamed clams, and seared scallops. And because I need a pair of boots made, some stingray. Stingray leather is pretty awesome, and so overlooked. If, wait, when I get a cutlass, the grip is going to be stingray leather. But, you know, if you're going to kill a fish, use everything you can from it, right?"

"They do call the manatee 'water buffalo', don't they?" Where has Sebastian been up to this point? Well, he's here now, at any rate. "And wow, oysters Rockefeller? Now all we need is one of those menus where all the prices are just numbers, no cents, not even dollar signs."

Kieran sets the timer and comes back out to the group. "Clem! and /Meth/!" That's right, she remembers what Stella called Sebastian, and now that's a /thing/. "Hey guys!" She moves over by Jenny to continue her official duties as 'she followed me home lady', "This is Jenny, she's crashing at my place for a few days while her winnebago's in the shop... and really, how cool is that, huh? A winnebago? So cool. Jen, this is Clementine, and the really /loud/ guy back there who hasn't let anyone else get a word in edgewise is Sebastian. Oh, and I've got some of Caressa's stuffed shrooms warming up in the oven. That's where me n' Sark met Jenny last night, over at Amber. He was pushing the 'shrooms... /again/."

Janneke eyes Kee. "Meth?" She looks at Sebastian with that, and then back. "*Meth?*" Oh boy. "Seriously?" She hmphs and is about to say more, but then Clem is there, and JJ beams as the other Boggan brings her own basket of goodies. JJ giggles helplessly. "We are all going to be so well-padded," she mock-complains. "Oooh, stuffed shrooms!"

Clementine grins at Sebastian, "Isn't that really the menu where if you have to ask what the price is - you cannot afford it?" She opens up her basket of goodies and offers them around. "I do have chocolate, but I also have strawberry rhubarb. The chocolate is a dark chocolate and with mint. There is also some orange cranberry - those are one of the most popular. Oh and a new one we are trying out now and you all can taste test. Special coming I hope in the summer. Guava!" She starts laying out a couple of containers so people can pick what they would like. The flavors are separated with wax paper so nothing mixes. "Dee, once lent is over, I'm going to hook you up with some amazing chocolate. Have you ever tried... Ruby Chocolate?" She hears the mention of Meth and is not quite sure how that all went about. But there is someone new, so she has a big smile and approaches Jenny. "Hello dear! Lovely to meet you, I'm Clementine. Clementine Dunbar. Your hostess with the mostest, co-owner of the Spoonful of Sugar Tea and Pastry shop just outside of the Marina here. It is lovely to meet you."

Sark gives Kieran a grin and the best 'innocent' look he can pull off....which probably isnt very convincing, "But they are goooood! Little balls of shroom stuffed with dressing and cheese and dipped in lovely batter and fried until molten..." He rumbles a little at the idea and nodsnods at JJ and winks in agreement. To Sebastian and Kieran he offers, "I sent Stella a text. If she's available I might be able to lure her out to this."

"Oh, that's easy, I can't afford anything. There's a reason I mooch off of you guys." Sebastian is indeed loud, if by 'loud' you mean 'turning the volume up to 1.1'. He wanders over and offers a hand to Jenny. "Hey, good to meet you. And don't mind Kee, she got kicked out of finishing school but it /really/ wasn't her fault. I mean, who knew about acid back in those days, really?"

Deirdre jumps over to Sebastian to give him a glomp, too! "How have you been? And were you hiding behind Clementine? Cripes, you're sneaky. Glad you're not an assassin sent to kill me!" Deirdre laughs uproariously at her joke. She's the nicest girl in the whole city, the whole state. No one would want to kill her. "And a whole lot of my seafood goes to restaurants that don't have menus. Prix Fixe only."

Then Deirdre's attention is turned to chocolate. "You don't have to wait until Lent is over. Sunday's are mini-Easters. So, I get to drink coke and eat chocolate for 24 hours. And then I get to be sad again. But Ruby Chocolate. I've read about that. Sounds intriguing!" In the galley, Molly is busy cooking even more food for the people that showed up. Luckily for her, and the guests, the larder is well stocked. This is, after all, a commercial fishing vessel. Flesh starts to sizzle as more scallops are fired, and the smell of fresh shellfish is renewed.

Deirdre turns back to Sebastian. "You want a job? I can always use some hands on the ship. Comes with the best seafood."

Erin has arrived.

Jenny had been prepared to get up and go after some of the food. Instead she was approached by another friendly face and she offered a slight smile in return. "Hey, I'm Jenny Newark." She offers as she stood rising up to her full lankiness of six foot three. "I feel like I've been dragged into a literal meeting of captains of industry or something."

She would turn her dark blue eyes towards Sebastian then and upnodded to the man. "Hey." She hesitates on the offered hand for a second before she took his in her own and gave it a firm shake, her lips twitching upward into a lopsided smile as she shrugged. "Finishing school was never my speed anyways." She said a side look towards Keiran. "I prefer the school of hard knocks and anarchy myself."

Dasia arrives, but coming up from further below decks, not from... above-decks. How? Mind your business. Today we see Louis Vuitton, the leather mini-dress green, and domehow shiney and metallic. Because we're on a boat, she's got only slightly unsensible wedges on. In her perfectly manicured fingers, a mug of steaming something, with her trademark coffee stirrer straw, though for the moment, she is neither stirring nor sipping the beverage.

Janneke laughs softly. "I'm not a captain of anything, I just run a music repair and memorabilia shop." She gratefully tries one of the chocolate-mint specials from Clem's basket, her smile warm as she regards all of the people in the room -- probably most of her favorite people in the world, honestly -- and decides that the new arrival seems like a potentially good fit on some level. "Sark, you sounded like you'd seen God for a moment there when you described those mushrooms..." She ohs and laughs. "Dasia, Erin, hullo! Sheesh, it's a real party..."

"Oh, shit, I forgot! Jenny, I hug people." It's a statement, not a request. So, Deirdre tries to hug Jenny!

Once Jenny is greeted properly, Deirdre goes over and glomps Dasia. "Heya, Dasia! It's a party." Then the red-head whispers in Dasia's ear whilst hugging her. "Mixed company on the boat today," she says before letting go. "How have you been?"

Sark taps his nose and winks at JJ, "Well, they ARE pretty good!" Spying Dasia and Erin stepping onto the boat, both women get a furious wave from the young blond, before he finally grabs a snacking plate and takes a few things to step away from the table and be a little more social.

Erin is not alone this time. Strapped to her is a baby. She has a diaper bag and a cat is following them. She smiles and waves "Ok i'm here let the party begin" she laughs "Just kidding just kidding" she shakes her head at her own joke as she steps further in and moves a little bit further in.

Clementine clasps her hands together, "Looks like the gang is all here! Except for Persy. Please, everyone, enjoy the food! Let me know what you think of the guava scones if you try one." She moves around the room, saying hello to everyone she can. She is such a hostess even when it is not her party! "Erin! Nice to see you! How is the baby? And the girls?" She also greets Dasia, "One day, we should go shopping together. I fear I have no fashion sense whatsoever."

Sebastian actually looks serious for once, considering Deirdre's offer. "Well, I don't know how long it would take me to get my sea legs. I could definitely give it a shot, though." Then he heads over to greet the cat. "Today's fish is trout a la creme. Enjoy your meal."

Deirdre darts over to Erin, her grin crossed only for a moment with concern before hugging the woman making her new, high-tech screws. "Heya! Thanks for coming to the party. Just, please be careful, this is probably the least baby-proof place." she's looking at all the things that might go catastrophically wrong, but at least below decks there's a lot less heavy and light machinery. "It's a shellfish party! We have oysters, Rockefeller and raw, mussels in a white wine sauce with pasta, garlic-butter steamed clams, and seared scallops. Oh, and stingray. But please, make yourselves at home. The head is, wait, uh, if you have to do any baby stuff—" Deirdre can't hide her face at the thought of all the nastiness babies can make and need to be cleaned—"Uh, I guess use my stateroom. Oh, hell's bells. Let me go make a space for that, just in case, you know?"

Sark gives Clementine a warm hug when the woman comes close enough to attack in her goings-around, planting a chaste kiss to her cheek before straightening back up, "Very happy to see you here. Tell Persy I missed them as well?" But then another bit of seafood is stuffed into his face to munch away, bouncing on the balls of his feet a little as if he is having problems containing the energy.

Erin smiles brightly at Clemntine "Hi, we are doing rather well.. He is starting to scoot" she takes a breath "The girls are doing rather well, off doing stuff today with their Dad so here we are" she smiles at Deirdre and hugs her careful with the baby and all and nods "Well he isn't mobil yet so don't worry he will mainly on me so we good" she smiles "I'm almost done by the way if you want to stop by the shop soon" she ohs softly and nodsnods "Ok thanks that is very kind of you" she looks back to Clem "How are you doing? I see you been busy.. Man we should talk about some business" she smiles. "oo so many yummy things to try"

Little Eric or Knight Eric is looking around sucking on a pacifier.

Kieran disappears back into the galley, muttering something about needing to get the mushrooms out.

Jenny received the hug, more than participated in it, a look of surprise on her features before she chuckled and patted Deirdre on the back. She took it in stride, and once Deirdre was off to speak to the next person she seemed to consider the space and those within it, a contemplative look upon her features as she flexed one gloved hand before turning to head for the smorgasbord of food that was now arrayed on the table.

Janneke finds herself a plate, filling it with a selection from the various items to be sampled, happy to be able to do this among friends. She finds herself a spot near Sebastian, smiling, and says, "I've never had stingray, this'll be an adventure!" She giggles and picks up the fork, sampling it with a thoughtful look.

Of course it's a Party now that Dasia has arrived... how could it be anything but? She accepts the hug from Deirdre, of course, and returns a little double-cheek-kissy to the Captain. She also Spies one of the more important peoples in the mess... "Oh Sir Eric~" she sing-songs to the baby, likely getting a giggle despite the noise of everything else going on. She was only half listening to Clem, and purses her lips in thought at that. "Oh... sure, I've got a shopping trip coming up, we can make a trip out of it," she says. Sark will of course, get a little wave. Much else is lost in the chaos of the small room.

Kringer the cat looks at Sebastian and meows at him and rubs his head against his leg in thanks before he moves to eat what was given to him. Man he is getting spoiled.

Sebastian scoots over closer to Janneke for a moment. "No kidding, I've never had any of this stuff. Well, except butter." Finally he gets up to pull together a plate for himself: a little bit of this, a little bit of that.

Sir Eric gives one of those high pitch happy baby squeels toward Dasia as she sings to him and comes to great him. Seems that he is in a very happy mood right now.

Sark grins as he watches the interactions, giving Jenny a little bow as he steps out of her way on the way to the food. Another bit of whitefish is popped into his mouth as he aims a little closer to Erin, easing up to her side before asking, "Things have been good, yes? I keep catching sight of you at these gatherings but havent had a chance to actually TALK to you..."

Deirdre comes back. "Okay, there's a bit of plastic over a desk in my stateroom," she tells Erin. Actually, it's a lot of plastic, thick plastic. For a moment, she stands still and takes in the sight of hosting so many people and sharing her love with them, that being the love of the sea. "Okay, everyone, so before today, Kieran has never had oysters. So, make sure to keep a look on her face. Everything here is as fresh as it gets. Some of these shellfish were in the ocean just a few hours ago."

Dasia makes a few silly faces at Eric, which is incredibly odd given her usual perpetual resting bitch face (that everyone but Jenny knows about, and Jenny will find out about... just as soon as The Child is out of the fashionista's sight. "Of course things are good," she answers for Erin. Terribly rude of her. "Would Sir Eric be so full of giggles if things were bad?" she asks, and to demonstrate, she wiggles the claw-like french-tipped nails of one hand right near Eric's bell, to trick him that it is tickle time.

Erin smiles up at Sark "You have been rather busy yourself. it is good to see you.. But yes things are doing great" she nodsnods. She turns to Dee and smiles "Thanks I will make sure to use the plastic. No worries. " she gives her a wink then nodsnods "Oh totally will make sure to keep an eye on her" she smiles. over at Dasia "See she even knows it's good" she nodsnods.

Eric is waving his hands and just one very happy baby.

Janneke mmms and says, "When it's this fresh, you taste the actual flavor and not just the... fishiness, you know? There's a flavor that gets masked when it's not as fresh as this." She's enjoying herself, clearly, and looks over to Kee because she, too, wants to see what the musician thinks of the oysters. She leans against the wall and scolds Kringer amiably, "Hey, wait your turn, kitty!" Strangely, she seems to expect the cat to understand.

Kringer finishes what Sebastian gave him then meows up at JJ and moves over to rub againt her legs as he sits and looks at her as if expecting something from her.

Jenny Piles a little bit of everything onto her plate, a look of anticipation flitting across her features as she let the sights and sounds of the room wash over her. She'd turn, letting her backside rest against the table as she scooped up a fork and used it to stuff some of the sea food into her mouth, a moment of reminiscent pleasure crossing her lips before she finished the mouthful. "Fuck me..." She trailed off as she shook her head, a look of intensity flashing into her eyes as she started towards her chair and sat down in it, suddenly entirely consumed by the food she herself was consuming.

Kieran eventually returns, coming out of the galley with a steaming platter of stuffed mushrooms. "Now... there's only two servings here, cuz this was a lot smaller over the phone.. but there's enough for everyone to have one or two, if they want, I think..."

Sark nods at Erin's comment, "Its been a little busy, yes!" His attention is drawn down to Kringer's begging, which elicits a soft giggle out of the young man. Sark kneels down and takes an oyster off of his plate to offer it to the cat, before watching Jenny's reaction and just looking thoroughly amused...and shooting a vaguely longing look at the shrooms Kieran is bringing back in.

Clementine returned the hug from Sark and agrees with missing Persy. As they are all taking turns getting food, she gets a plate herself and has to try the pasta! "OOo, this is good!" She enjoys the food and offers any help to others if they need with holding plates and adding food to their plate.

Erin smiles as Jenny totally digs in "I think she likes it." she grins and nudges Sark "Oh he is going to be spoiled" she watches as Kringer gets some food then looks to Sark "When do you want to take another fly?" she asks him then smiles over to Clem as she helps "Everything looks so good" She looks to the cat "don't be a pest"

Kringer accepts the offered food from Sark and rubs against him with a meow.

Deirdre projects her voice loudly, that military bearing kicking in to make sure people know that she's someone to be listened to, even if her announcement is a pleasant one. "So, everyone, I admit I had al ulterior motive in inviting you here today. I have a great announcement! You might remember me saying a while back that I had an interview with the CIA, who turned out to be a rather boring man name Phillip. Anyways, I am pleased to inform you that my distillery is approved! We're breaking ground on the building in two weeks!" She's bouncing on the balls of her feet happy. Anyone would be able to tell that she's been dying while keeping this secret, and now that it is out, she's relieved.

"So, if anyone of you considers yourself a connoisseur of alcohol, I am going to have some opportunities soon for tasters. I mean, the full product won't be finalized for at least three years. Uh, four, actually. Construction time, then aging time. But I aim to make the best spiced rum in the world. None of this bland bravo sierra that is sold."

"Some of you might not realize that rum has deep roots in America. Before the revolution, the average person drank like, four gallons of the stuff a year. Paul Revere was said to be absolutely blitzed on rum for his famous ride. Rum sales helped fund the revolution and gain our freedom. So, it's not just a sailor's drink, it's an American drink."

Sark grins up at Erin, "You mean he's not ALREADY spoiled? Tsk tsk." A soft chuckle rumbles under his breath as he gives Kringer a thorough 'good kitty' scritching down his back and behind his ears. When Dee starts addressing the group, he slowly straightens up to turn his attention on her. When she starts talking about alcohol tasters, he turns an amused look onto Kieran but doesnt say a DAMNED thing for the moment, just pops another bit of stingray into his mouth and munches while absorbing the plan.

Janneke looks pleased at this, happy for Deirdre and just because it's nice to hear good news. "That's amazing! I'd love to test taste, or taste test, or whatever you want to call it. I can't claim I'm an expert, but I know what I like." She looks at the others, taking in the group with her gaze, and grins. "Sounds like another party or two is in the offing. I could do a private tasting party for you when you get the first batch..."

Kieran says, “Wait wait wait..." She peers at Deirdre carefully for a moment. "You... were interviewed by a government agent? Because of alcohol. And his name was... Phil?" She looks around, "She's a fucking /Avenger/... What's your superhero name? Is it Captain Morgan? I bet it's Captain Morgan."”

Erin giggless at Sark "Shhh don't tell him that" She smiles over to JJ then looking over to Dee as she makes her announcement and she takes Eric's hand and claps "that's awesome congrats! By the time we can taste I might actually be able to have it so that's exciting, congrats" she smiles. She actually moves to try and get some food, she gets a little of everything. Specially the mushrooms must taste those

ERic tries to take things from her plate oh the joy .

Kringer well he is enjoying himself as he makes his way over to Jenny rubbing his head against her leg.

"Don't insult me like that. My goal is to make good rum. Not rum that is best for mixing with coke . . ." Deirdre glares at Kee.

Clementine hmms, "I had not heard about a distillery. That is great news!" She makes no mention of someone named Phil. She cannot help but laugh at the avenger talk though.

Sark smiles a little more, but waits until he finishes his stingray before chirping at Deirdre, "I would be quite happy to help out whenever you have things set up. Who knows, by then I might even be able to host a 'release party' for your first batch..."

Jenny is in the midst of devouring the food on her plate, almost having completely cut out the rest of the room in her quest to consume the plates contents. But then the hostess, or the Captain? Came forward with a grand announcement about a distillery. This had the dark haired woman looking up finally, most of the food on her plate gone as congratulations went around. "You'd be amazed how useful a distillery license is, congrats on that." She offers if and when Deirdre roamed close. "You wanna diversify? Consider making medical grade alcohol. Just like booze theres always a need."

"Yes. Boring Philip," Dasia replies, with a theatrical wink. Or as close to an approximation of a wink as you can make without like... invoking wrinkles or crows feet. Still, at the end of the announcement, she raises her mug in a 'cheers' motion. And uses it as a distraction to grab a small little bit of fish to pass to Kringer. "Only if he's avenging Dat Ass," she chimes in to Kieran. Utter chaos.

Erin is able to keep her plate from the little hands as she finds somewhere to sit down near Jenny. She smiles at her "Hello.. I'm Erin" she gestures to the baby "And this is Eric" she smiles "I don't think i've seen you before are you new?" she asks curiously.

Kringer is such a spoil cat as Dasia shares oh she also gets a head rub as he purrrrrr and happily eats his food.

... Mention of diversifying gets her attention. "There are some middle eastern brews, from countries that aren't completely dry, that you might consider trying out," she notes. "Good Suggestion... Jenny, was it that someone said?: She extends an arm, hand all droopy due to the limp-wristed way she holds it out. "Dasia. Charmed, I'm sure."

Kieran says, “It's short for 'Dat-Assia'," Kieran pipes up, before looking around to all of the others, especially when Clem laughs at the idea of Captain Morgan. "Look, you all know superpowers exist... I mean, hell," She spins around to point very definitively at someone, "Look at Sark!" She pauses, nodding as if it should all be clear. But just in case it isn't... "He's /rich/! JUST LIKE BATMAN.”

Janneke bursts out laughing. "My superpower is the ass that never stops growing," she mutters with a hint of self-mockery, clearly not serious. "I think Clem's is these pastries." She giggles, and nudges Sebastian absently, trying to be subtle and mostly succeeding.

Sark's attention get's snapped back to Kieran when she points him out. There's a very 'deer in headlights' look on his face for a couple of seconds...before he starts cracking up, "I can not even remotely pull off that voice. Im not going to even try."

Jenny looked towards the well kept woman as she expressed approval of her suggestions. Dark blue eyes would survey her for a few brief moments before her lips pursed a tiny bit as she reached out and took Dasia's hand and lifted it, meeting it halfway with her lips, placing a light kiss on the back of her hand before releasing her. "Jenny Newark, lets go with charmed." A wink offered quickly before she turned aside and fiddled with the food on her plate.

"I just knew some micro brewer's, who shifted the entirety of their production line towards making antiseptics and sterilizers. Sold it by the truck load to companies while turning around and providing it pro bono to alotta local groups and charities for outreach work. Couldn't have been a sweeter deal."

The Captain laughs at Sark and then looks to JJ. "Looks like you two are going to have to fight for it." She is struck with a thought, but puts it on hold as the new girl comes close.

"Medical grade alcohol, hrmm? I hadn't thought of that. Are you familiar with the alcohol business? I have yet to hire anyone for the company. And if you're new in town, I'm happy to help out. Oh! Yeah, so I got stupid rich on bitcoin, total luck. And then, I am up 30 on LHT this year. The sea food business is going great, too. So, you know, while I'm republican to the core, wait, that didn't come out right. I'm republican, you know, Irish Republican. No use for lords and ladies, but I do believe in noblesse oblige." She hums, looking to Jenny like she's sharing a secret. "Not that I would shed any tears at the current batch of oligarchs here in America being run into the guillotine at the same rate their overseas, child-powered, sweat shops put out cheap shit for us to buy. But anyways, happy to offer someone a chance." She smiles.

Then Deirdre's attention turns to Erin. "Okay, lass, I have another order from you, and I am sure, sure that you can make it happen with panache. I need two dueling pistols, the kind you might find in the 1600s, single-shot, flint-lock. But, they need to fire paintballs. With a black powder charge. You know, for dueling, without actually hurting someone. That way, I can challenge Kieran to a duel for her grievous insult, and Juniper and Sark can duel for the first batch party. And I am going to need to get a cutlass, but one not sharp. Can you do that, or should I seek out a bladesmith?"

Erin bounces Eric as she tries to eat without his hands in her food. She blinks a little bit as Dee gives her another order. She looks thoughtful and gives a little nod "sure I think i can make you that stuff, after I am done with your current project of course" she smiles.

Sark chuckles at the conversation, finally finishing off his last bit of stingray and setting his little plate aside. He steps forward to give Deirdre's cheek a small kiss and murmurs, "If you're ever out for a late evening fishing run, text me. Swing past the island and I'll come out to meet you and help out." He wiggles his fingers at Kieran and JJ and Jenny and Dasia and Erin and lifts his voice, "Im going to head back to the house and check on the ponies. Text me if something blows up?"

"Alright," Deirdre tells Sark. "Thanks for coming!"

Erin smiles and waves to Sark "don't be a stranger" she smiles at him. She also has little Eric wave to Sark.

Jenny Looks up from Dasia to Deidre as she inquires about her skills in the realm of libations and the raven haired woman offered a lopsided grin and shook her head. "Fraid not, I just know the guys, but they're all the way back in Conneticut so I doubt you'll get them out here. Could offer you their number if you want though." She offers with a shrug before looking back to Dasia and her resting bitch face. "Believe me, I am not everybody's cup of tea. So we'll see about that." Another half grin, before she finished off her plate of food and rose, moving to put it aside. "See you around Sark."

Kieran finally, after all of this, starts to put a plate together. A little of this, a little of that... there's like, 1 oyster Rockefeller left, so that gets selected, some of the stingray... "Hey, what happens if I'm allergic to this stuff?"

Erin hmms as she answers "Well depends how allergic you are...." she hmms "Mild allergy will get you itchy"

"Ah, never mind then. If they've already got their own booze business, then I'd rather leave them to it," Deirdre says to Jenny. "Just know the offer is there if you need some kind of job. Hell, if you have a license, you can drive a delivery van . . . Just an offer." Deirdre looks to Kieran. "Worst thing? I'll grab the med bag and intubate you while we go to the hospital. How are the oysters?" Odd thing about her, she goes from talking about shoving a tube down Kieran's throat to being a cheerful, inquiring host.

Erin smiles softly "So you'll be all set if you have a reaction" she hmms "i have an epi with me.. Cuz you never know when you might need one" she smiles "So we got you covered" she nodsnods.

Jenny seems to consider Deirdre's offer for a few moments before nodding. "I dont need a job just yet, most of my work I do from my Travco. But ill keep it in mind if things get slow or I need some extra cash."

Kieran nods to Erin and starts to scoop up the oyster, "Ah, well, that' not that..." Then she stops and blinks a few times at Deirdre. "/Hospital/... riiiiight. Maybe I should... y'know... get tested or something? Is there a test for this stuff?" She looks a little skeptical at Erin's reassurances, but slowly goes ahead and munches on the oyster. "Mmm! hmm...mm." Swallowing, she smiles, "That's pretty good..."

Despite all the festivities, Dasia hasn't actually made a plate of food or even had anything to drink yet. She is stirring, though. Oh, and she stops stirring! The mug is lifted and the smol straw is delicately placed between her lips, lest she ruin her lip gloss by being too enthusiastic. She siiiiiips... removes straw from lips... and nods at the taste of the beverage. "There's tests for everything, Kee," she replies. Quiet throughout most of that, or really focused on her steaming cup of... say. what does she have to drink, anyway?

"I mean, you met Shannon the other night; you know I'm a corpsman. You know a Physician Assistant? That's basically the civilian version of a corpsman. If I hadn't spent all my time after EAS getting the certs and quals to master a ship, I could be doing that. But we all know why I chose this path. Anyways, even if you were highly allergic, I am pretty sure that my /skills/ would keep you alive." Deirdre really tries to emphasize her skills. Myriad, sundry skills.

"And no sweat, dollface." Deirdre says to Jenny. "If you're good, you're good." Deirdre grabs one of the oysters on ice and slurps it down before leaning against a bulkhead, smiling. It's a good day.

Erin watches Kee eat the oaster and keeps an eye on her looking to see if she swells or if any of the horrible things that happen when someone is allergic. She smiles "Looks like your fine.. no itchy throat or anything right?" she asks just in case. She nodsnods to what Dasia said "yeah, they poke you with stuff and wait to see what kind of body your body has to things depending how specific you go.. When they did it on Ana they poke on her back. " she shrugs and nodsnods "Deirdre could totally keep you alive.. So like i said you'd be fine"

Kieran says, “Mmmm." She considers, then shrugs, "All moot anyway, but it's good to feel like I can rely on people to help out, yeah?”

Janneke says, "Of course you can, we all lurve you! We're all part of your fan club, right? Do we get 5 by 7 glossies any time soon?" She giggles and swipes a few more of the scallops -- well, more than a few, because hey, they're still there -- and digs back in.

Erin gets a little more food for herself She did Eric something to chew on while she tries to eat. She smiles at Kee and gives her a wink.

Jenny listens to the talk of potential reactions to shell fish and offers her own form of reassurance. "Could walk out of this boat and fall flat on your face dead from a heart attack, might as well enjoy it while you can." Its not a great peptalk, but she tried. She'd turn towards Dasia once more, raising a brow as she took the proverbial bait. "You gonna drink that? Or let it ruminate on existence for a while?"

"You'll be fine, we got plenty of vooze here somewhere that we can drown-out whatever you might be allergic to," Dasia tells Kieran. Which might not be how that works, but could also very well be a true statement all the same. Plus, everyone else is in agreement that everything is fine. So it's fine. Okay? FINE! She wiggles one of her claw-tipped fingers at Eric, before narrowing her eyes at Jenny. A tiny bit. No wrinkles! "The only things I drink fast are shots and cu-" she stops herself, glancing at THE CHILD. Sure. he's not making memories yet. but it's the principle of the matter. "That is to say, I enjoy taking my time." And she demonstrates thusly, by placing the straw oh-so-carefully again, and giving the beverage another little sippy-sippy-siiiiip.

Kieran considers that for a moment, then nods, "You're right. I could!" She looks to Deirdre, "Excuse me." And with that, she heads up on-deck. A few moments later, from the deck comes a sharp thud, then a splash.

Or, more accurately, comes the sound of Kieran shouting "AH! THUD!.... SPLASSSSSSSSSSSH!" Then she pokes her head back in the hatch, looking to see if anyone's coming to save her.

Janneke drawls, "Oh, no, Kieran's fallen into the well. Where the fuck is Lassie when we need her?" She pauses and murmurs, "Ooops, sorry, little ears, lemme go rescue the smartass." And with that, she grabs Kee through the hatch and drags her back inside. "You are officially rescued," she says drily.

Deirdre crosses her arms. "Kee, look at me. Not only am I the captain, now and forever. Do you think that I don't know what an actual splash sounds like?" She rolls her eyes. "Also, I wouldn't go swimming in this bit of water. Even with the regulations, there's more pollution here than out on the beach, so many ships in one place."

There isn't a dog here but there is a Cat that goes to chec out what happen to Kee, when JJ rescues her he just stares at the two of them before he sits and decids to lick himself.

Erin looks over and laughs softly "You need to work on your splash sound" she winks at her.

Jenny chuckles dryly at Dasia's statement before leaning back in the chair and pulling one foot up, putting it flat on the chair and allowing her one long ass leg to fold up neatly near her chest. "Whatever floats your boat." She mused before turning her gaze towards Kieran's antics and watches with amusement. "Damsel in distress is not a good look."

"I prefer my damsel's out of their dress! Hummm, if we chucked her in and I pulled her out, we could get her out of that . . . shit, she's not in a dress. But we could still her her out of it." Deirdre says with a mischievous smirk.

Kieran says, “Ah-ha!" She points at Jenny, then down at her jeans, "I'm not /in/ a dress!" Then she looks to Deirdre, "And yeah, duh... of course I wouldn't want to go swimming, that's why I /faked/ the splash...”

Erin looks at everyone as the conversation seems to switch and she giggles as she stands up "I think i'm goin to take this little guy home" she giggles "You ladies have fun and thank you for having us" she looks to Dee "I will let you know when to come by to pick up your stuff and i'll start working on your pistals and cutlass" she smiles at her.

Dasia shakes her head at Kieran when she is dragged back in. "See, I'm from the desert, and even I knew that was a fake-ass splash," she says, careless of Eric hearing 'ass'. What even is her criteria? She blink-blinks at the way the conversation has turned, glancing down as the Louis Vuitton /dress/ she has on. "Look, I can get out of this without the water ruining it or my hair, thank-you-very-much... all you have to do is ask. And maybe after we go out for drinks and maybe start another bar fight." See, she can't even use Eric as an excuse to keep the dress on, he's leaving! "Nkce catching up with you, Erin. Don't be a stranger, yeah?"

Janneke smiles and tells Erin, "Take care of you and the little one, we'll see you soon!" She fingerwaves and settles back into her seat now that she's 'rescued' Kee. "Drinks and a barfight, sounds like your kinda dealio, Kee!"

"Of course, Erin." Deirdre gives her a farewell hug. "Take care. And Sir Eric too!"

Kieran says, “Have a good night, Erin! It was good to see you!"”

Jenny nods to Erin as she declares her plan to depart, offering a brief wave to the woman. She would turn her attention to the talk of damsel's in distress, or in this case, in or out of dresses and since getting into the conversation leans back and seems to go mum on the subject, a slightly pleased smile creeping across her lips as she listened. "A bar brawl? Who have I gotten into bed with here, I'm an upright citizen I'll have you know."

Erin hugs Dee and smiles at her "Thanks" she looks at all of you and giggles "Now don't go getting into too much trouble out there and hav ea good time for me" she laughs and has littl Eric wave to everyone too "See you all later

"I should have a pirate night party, with all the wenches in appropriate costume . . . " Deirdre muses, with a grin to herself. "Plenty of rum. And Jenny, five might be a bit much for my bed, but I am sure we can manage." she winks.

Kieran smirks at Jenny, "You /may/ have fallen in with the wrong crowd here, y'know..." Then she looks Dasia over, appraisingly. "Is that /so/? Hmmmm... so, what would it take to get you parading around naked for a week solid?"

"Oh, I don't get in bar fights," Dasia explains. "I just piss people off enough that they try to throw the first punch. Shame they always seem to hit somebody else on accident..." She smirks at that. One of the small, barely cheek dimpling smirks. "The Palace is under renovation, but when everything is good and finished, the pillow pit would fit more people than this galley," she says, deadpan serious to Deirdre's teasing suggestion. "Oh, a fair few number of favors, but we can sort that out in due time," she adds to Kee, waving the thought away... for now.

Janneke says, "Palace? This is news, I suppose, or maybe I just missed it?" She considers Dasia with a curious air, her eyes bright with interest. "You got crowned and didn't tell me?"

Jenny chuckled at the suggestion of a pirate party, and more than that of five fitting in Kieran's bed. "Your bed can barely fit me comfortably." She said as she rose from her chair and went to grab a can of pop off the largely picked over buffet table, snapping up some shellfish as well which she popped in her mouth as she walked back to her seat. "Not to mention my ride will be ready tomorrow evening, your bed will be all yours again."

She'd turn her gaze towards Dasia once more, giving her one more once over before nodding. "Believable." The mentioning of a crown however had Jenny's brow rising curiously.

"Did you see my stateroom? It's not a palace, but it's hardly tiny. Not like my rack on The Sullivans." Deirdre crosses her arms. "And if you don't want to wear a dress, no need to keep wearing it on my account."

Dasia arches one of those microbladed brows. Actually both. JJ. "Oh, no, I kind of... bought out the old owners... investors... whatever... of Shaherazaad's. That neat little theme restaurant, market, and garden?" she says. "I'll take you by there some time, I just figured maybe a name change with all the redecorating that I'm having to do inside."

Kieran snorts softly, "My bed? Fuck, Jen, I told you straight up the place wasn't even big enough for the queen-size that's in there... and it was there when I rented the little shithole." Then she smirks at Dasia, and shrugs, "I mean, just the dress? Meh. Gotta make it worth my /while/, y'see... but I suppose I could start a few brawls in this new place you've bought. Cut down on the demo costs by having the customers do the work."

"Restaurant. Let me get you one of our supply agreements!" Deirdre darts over to a file cabinet and pulls out a file. Then she goes and hands it to Dasia. "Here you go. And if you tell me that seafood isn't on the menu, I am going to cry. Right here. Right now. Right in front of everybody."

Janneke says, “Oh, and here I thought you'd married Prince Whichever One Is Still Single on us." That would be none of them, JJ, unless you mean the *children*. "I didn't wear a dress today either, maybe I should have so I could throw it at you guys, but..." She laughs. "What the hell am I saying?”

Jenny shrugs gloved palms turned skyward as Kieran speaks of the apartment and goes on about getting Dasia out of her dresses. As the others go on she reaches into her pocket and pulls out a small pocket knife that she curiously uses to pop the tab on the drink, rather than using her fingers. That done, she popped the knife back into her pocket and sipped at the bubbly beverage. "Fraid the only time you'll catch my ass in a dress is on a bet." She said with a shake of her head. "Just not my speed."

Kieran leans over and stage-whispers to Deirdre, "It's gonna be desert cuisine. No seafood."

At that dreadful, absolutely-horrible, soul-rending bit of information, Deirdre's great big eyes start to water. Her lips quiver. "No . . . no seafood?" she asks the universe in a shaky voice, her very happiness undone by the thought that someone, somewhere wouldn't want to have some kind of seafood with their meal. She looks broken, spiritually devastated.

"You, uh... know a lot of Middle Eastern dishes that use Eastern Pacific fish in the menu?" Dasia asks. Entirely serious. She HAS been state-side for over a decade, the food from the homeland... not so fresh in her mind. "But I'll definitely take some for the double-secret backdoor downstairs menu, just for you. As a treat." She gives a side-glance at JJ. "Therr are a metric fuckton of Saudi Princes any of us could marry - not that I would need to, myself, but we could get you all some nice tiaras..." she teases. She does some sorcery and winks in a way that keeps her skin from coming close to folding because Wrinkles are her mortal enemy. "Oh. a skirt will be just fine," she notes to Jenny.

Janneke blinks slowly. "Oh, don't be silly, Kee. How could you *not* have seafood at a restaurant? That's like having a restaurant with nothing to drink!" She giggles and adds, "Oh, don't marry just *any* prince, marry a--" She stops, and says, "I just completely forgot what I was going to say. Anyway! Tiaras, only fi I can wear it with my jeans and Docs!"

Deidre sniffles and nods going to sit down alone for a moment.

Jenny watches with a tilt of her head as Deirdre has a Shakespearean bout of despair, watching the ships captain and would be brewer go through her tragic cycle. "Sometimes thats the way the world cracks." She chuckled gently, fairly certain it was all for show anyways before she turned her gaze back to Dasia and with a meaningful look slapped her hand down on her own knee. "Jeans, slacks and cargo pants. Those are your choices unless you got something you can hold over me." She smirks just a little before she took another sip of her drink. "And none of you know me."

Kieran fishes out her phone as Deirdre takes the bait, and starts tapping at it a bit. "Says here there's shrimp dishes in Levantine cuisine... can't imagine countries like Qatar and the OAE don't feature a lotta fish, considering their options are 'go fishing' or 'grow crap in the desert'... Nah, you should be fine, Dee."

"Wait, really? Yeah. There's go to be fish. There's a whole fucking gulf there. And the Red Sea. Which, oddly enough doesn't have red snapper." She perks up quickly enough and starts to google on her own. "Mackerel, okay, so there's mackerel everywhere more or less. Might not be the exact same species, but the ones here would be similar. Grouper, too. Obviously, there's going to be some local variations that we just can't do. And shipping from the Arabian Gulf is going to be killer. Seriously, I do overnight to Tokyo for unni sometime, and I charge them through the nose for that, because the air freight charges me through the nose."

Janneke says, "Mackerel is like assholes, they're everywhere," smiling. Is she an expert on fish? No, but she's willing to take others' Google-Fu words for it. Or something. "I was going to say, I can't imagine there wasn't fish involved. Even if they're just on the secret menu for friends only," she offers.

"Growing crap in the desert is actually a lot easier than it sounds," Dasia counters. "You dig down until you hit the water table, and then you're in business. But yes, supplement that with livestock and yes, fish, if you're near a coast or river." Of course she knew. Which means she was playing a mean prank on Deirdre. How rude. But also, she got a homework project to focus on and get excited for, so who is the real winner here? It could be Jenny, despite the critical look-over she is getting from Dasia. "I suppose jeans would do, but we're going to need to upgrade the style, at least," she says. "Maybe go a little crazy and have it tailored for you too." Even if what she's wearing already is tailored... this is a FASHIONISTA here. There's tailored, and then there is *tailored*.

Kieran says, “See now?" She nods, "You two should totally get together on that. Dasia, you missed it. Jenny here lives out of a winnebago. Oh, and she has a podcast. A wandering teller of tales." She looks off into the distance (despite the bulkheads in the way) and gestures expansively, "A noble soul, collecting wisdom and spreading the stories of her people as she treads the jeweled kingdoms of the earth beneath her sandaled feet, and some junk.”

Jenny smirks at Dasia as she is given the critical look over and raises a challenging eyebrow. "Whatever you say. But I'd hate to have your fancy clothing get soaked in tear gas, or mace, or...well alotta different things."

Kieran however draws the raven haired womans attention as her face shifts into a quizzical look. She leans forward then, resting her elbows on her knee's as she cradled the can of soda before her as she pursed her lips. "You know you never actually asked me what I podcast about...right?" She asked before chuckling and taking a sip of her drink. "But hey, whatever you wanna believe Kee."

Janneke will bite! "So, Jenny," she asks, conversationally, "What DO you podcast about? Since nobody else has asked, I will!" A pause. "It helps that I'm actually curious."

"Podcast? You do podcasting? Also, Jenny, here's my skirt from when I went to Immaculate Heart of Mary. I am pretty sure it will fit." In Deirdre's hands there is a Catholic school girl's skirt, in a blue and white tartan pattern, pleats and all. "And in this hand, I have one thousand US dollars. I think you know where I am going with this." she smirks. Okay, it's not exactly an Indecent Proposal, but Deirdre's had a bit of rum and wants to have a bit of fun.

"Tell you what. I get you the perfect tailored outfit of your choice - my treat, even - and instead of ruining any of *my* clothes, you have some fun with a sledgehammer on whatever walls we end up needing to take down or replace at my new place?" Dasia suggests. "And after that, we can see about enough drinks to get shitfaced and see where things go?" She glances to Deirdre. "We don't even need to wait for the demo-squad to play dress up, you know." A pause. "And also, color me interested in the podcast, too."

Kieran shrugs, "I mean, I figured I'd just go looking for your next one, but no matter what, it's still the stories of your people... cuz you're one of your people, you know?"

Jenny gives Deirdre amused smile as she looks from one hand to the other and shakes her head. "Theres no real stakes in it for you, you own this boat, you just got yourself a license for a distillery, a thousand bucks means nothing to you." She said with a nod towards the skirt. "Find some better stakes and...maybe."

She turns then to Dasia and raises a brow. "How about you pick, no skirts, no dresses. Im pretty shit at picking anything thats not fitted, functional and durable, as for the rest." She shrugged. "Sure, why not."

Through all of that Jenny finds herself the focus of this conversation now, and she seems to shift in her chair, her gaze tracking from one person to the next. One gloved hand rising up to rub at the side of her face before she cleared her throat. "I...podcast about organizing social movements, tactics and skills, peaceful and otherwise." She took another look around the room as if she was suddenly uncomfortable. "With the aim of restructuring society and reality in a way that speaks to empathy, compassion and freedom."

"Well, after that empathy, compassion, and freedom bit, I feel like an ass." Deirdre puts the skirt down and takes a seat on one of the comfy chairs in the lounge. "Just a bit of drunken fun. Apologies, madam, if I offended you." That sure took the wind of out her sails.

Janneke ohs, and if anything, her interest grows *more* intent. "That's *awesome*," she says, not the least bit flustered. She wasn't the one trying to bribe her to wear a dress, after all. "That's the way it should be, you ask me. The freedom to act, the conscience to do so with empathy and compassion. That's how it *should* be, in the best of all possible worlds."

Kieran says, “Whooooahhhh." She plops down on the floor, chin propped up on her knuckles, and intones in what might almost be a perfect 'young Anna' impression, "That... is so.... /epic/!”

Dasia purses her lips, then nods. "I'll think of something great, trust me," she says, before quieting down to hear all about the podcast. There is a smol frown (oh so close to wrinkle territory, WATCH OUT). "I mean, I'm from Saudi-fucking-Arabia, so I get it," she says. "Everybody fights the fight their own way." Hers just happens to involve looking fabulous. "And even if you lose, it sounds like it'll make for a baller story to pass on for the next fight. So sure, I'm there to help. Or at least to see it. Maybe help everyone coordinate outfits, and make sure everyone is hydrated..."

Jenny watches as the group reacts in what might be considered, a strongly positive fashion. Her features remain mostly placid, but one can't help but see some of the surprise in her features as she looked around once more, her hand rising up to rub at her collarbone this time. "You're problem is I'm not drunk, not even a little and that was not the reaction I was expecting."

She smirked a bit and seemed prepared to go into it more, but then her pocket chimed, and she pulled out a flat piece of dark metal a little longer than a smart phone, she pushed an indent on the side of it and a screen popped up and away from the body, the screen translucent and she seemed to read something off of it. "Fraid thats it for me." She said as she pushed out of the chair and downed the last of the pop in one breath.

"Thanks for the food, and the conversation. Been a while on that score." She said with a nod before she started towards the exit.

"I'll text you if I ain't coming back tonight, and if thats the case, thanks for the crash pad." She offered Kieran directly. "Feel free to pass around my details to them Kieran." She said, as she headed upstairs.

"Aww, damn, I was going to offer you one of the bunks. Or my bunk." Deirdre says. "I hope this whole thing hasn't put you off to me, I am a real nice person, I swear!"

Kieran glances down at the phone she's still got out from when she was looking up menus (it's a Galaxy Fold4, for you snobby iPhools), and sighs. "Actually," She rises as well, "I should probably get going, too. I've got a shift at the casino tonight, and I need to stop back at the apartment to change and pick up my guitar. But yeah, I'll definitely pass your info around. You want a lift?" She rolls her eyes a bit as she turns to look toward Deirdre, "You are, without a doubt, one of the nicest people I know. You get that, right, Dee?"

Deirdre nods. She's just gotten a little too drunk and worried that her joviality has gone too far. She's overthinking it, is all. "Thanks, Kee. Have fun at the casino."

Dasia gives the two heading out a little wave and another smile that refuses to reach her eyes.
