"You should be afraid, brothers and sisters. This is Kyrrth'takla, Beast of a Thousand Mouths, they have awoken. The stories of its strength are terrifying. But I know you. I've been honored to fight alongside you, and I know you will not be afraid. What you want is the glory of tearing this abomination apart-- and my brothers and sisters, we will have it!"

Caern

  • Location: Rural, in the forest outside Prospect
  • Type: Stamina
  • Level: 3
  • Totem: Bear

Caern Rules

  • No Tech Use: The addiction to technology is worrying; it leads to ignoring the nature and spirit life within the Caern, which insults Bear. It also leads to ignoring Elders and Officers when they speak or conduct their business. This rule is meant to both keep people engaged in their surroundings, as well as to avoid the rudeness of checking texts while senior Garou are speaking or performing their duties. The rule is to be enforced by all Sept members within the Caern, and there's a secure drop-box outside the Mystic Valley where one can store their phones and etc. off-screen in order to avoid temptation.
  • All visitors must meet the Warder: It's impossible to access the Caern without meeting the Warder, Iron Flail, or his pack first for Sense Wyrm, Scent of True Form, and other such Gift usages. Everyone has to do it the first time they come to the Caern, and the Warder and his Guardian pack should be considered diligent in their duties, checking people at random and suggesting Cleansings for those accumulating taint from missions or city immersion. Both the Warder and his Guardian pack are NPCs, and while the meeting must be done, it can be hand-waved rather than RPed.
This is coded. You will not be allowed into the Caern itself unless you have passed through and been checked. Check for notes in the room with the warder for more details. If you try to pass without being checked, you will need to open a +request with staff. To get there, "+hangouts/jump warder" FIRST. That takes you to the Warder Station, and then you use the command: "+warder/handwave" (this @mails your race and subrace to the PC elders) and then you can proceed.
  • All must provide truthful introduction: Whether guest to the Caern or a member of its Sept, if any person within the Caern's grounds requests an introduction from another, they must provide it fully and truthfully. This introduction must include relevant information to the person's shifter-breed, and must not leave the requester confused as to who or what they are.
  • Fera are friends, not food: All Fera breeds and their Kinfolk are considered guests of the Sept and may enter the Caern. As guests they should be considered welcome and be treated with fair hospitality, though gross transgressions against hospitality by a Fera should be reported to an Elder immediately. There are places the Fera cannot wander without a Garou guide for various reasons, most notably the Caern Heart, the Ritual Clearing, the Living Area, and the Catacombs. Fera are not forbidden in these places, but a guide must be present for security or respecting Garou privacy: reassuring NPCs in the Living Area, ensuring the Ritual Clearing is safe, ensuring respect for the honored dead, and so on.
  • Possessed may go no further than the Mystic Valley: So long as they behave and are respectful to the sacred home of the local Garou, Kami and Gorgon are welcome as far as the Mystic Valley room of the Caern. Rooms beyond the Valley are denied to Possessed without permission and guidance from an Elder.
  • Visiting the Caern Heart: As the literal heart of a very sacred place, access to the Caern's Heart is not ultimately restricted to Garou alone, but it is heavily scrutinized. Fera and Fera Kinfolk need to have a ranking Garou guide (rank 3 or above) with them to visit, and due to the extremely thin Gauntlet and the inherent dangers of such, Garou Kinfolk without Gnosis would be wise to have a Garou with them as well. As long as peace and respect is adhered to at all times and with all entities, visitation is granted. The privilege may be revoked from any guest or kinfolk (including Garou kinfolk) by a Garou for any disrespectful or disruptive action or behavior while at the Heart. Any attempt at 'unnatural harvesting' from the Heart will be met with immediate lethal force from PCs and NPCs alike, please contact staff immediately if you wish to attempt this. 'Unnatural harvesting' may include attempting to draw from the Heart as if from a Node, attempting to absorb or feed from spirits in hostile ways, or really anything other than natural, serene meditation.
