6/4/2022 15:17:44 Jackie parks her car out front and waves as she enters the workshop area, dressed more for the city than for the country this time. "Hi, you two!"

6/4/2022 15:18:44 It's Saturday morning so the shop is fairly busy, there are 2 cars in the shop. Erin is at the desk attending to people though she rather be working at the cars. The boys are here and the cat is somewhere in the room pesky feline.. Lorna is probably under a car or coming down the steps. When Jackie comes in she smiles "Sup!"

6/4/2022 15:22:28 Lorna comes out of the workshop, wiping her hands on a rag. The enormous dog follows her. "I have discovered the problem in the Chrysler. We have an ID ten T error. I mean, I know it can be confusing, but honestly, how hard is it to know not to put cooking oil instead of motor oil into a vehicle? Going to have to flush the whole system, and I'm pretty sure something in there will need replacing. Never seen this before. I thought this idiocy was an urban myth."

6/4/2022 15:27:02 Erin looks over to Lorna an nods "Welcome to the urban myth's of what people will do to their cars" she looks at the few waiting "So don't do that" she tells them before she reminds them that there is coffee and popcorn for them.

6/4/2022 15:28:23 Jackie looks at Lorna in shock. "Seriously? I can't believe anyone would do that. Wow, knowing enough to know how to, and dumb enough to actually try... Hell. Uh, looks like it's a little backed up today? Need me to take over anything?"

6/4/2022 15:30:27 Lorna sighs, and helps herself to coffee. "I suppose I grew up in a place as far from being a big city as possible, where people knew how to look after vehicles as they relied on them completely for work, and to go anywhere at all. We got some idiotic breakages, but as a rule, the city here has way more of those. Still, it keeps the big fuzzball there in marrowbones." At which he wags his tail and perks his ears. Oh he knows THAT word all right!"

6/4/2022 15:34:48 Lucky for the customers that are waiting their car is done by the boys and Erin walks around the counter and talks to them and they head off. The do look at Lorna a moment before they drive away and Erin hmms a little bit thens shrugs "Hey when we have people waiting for their car let's not call them idiots while they are still here" she grins "They don't need to know how dumb we think they are for the easy fixes for us" Another car rolls in and she looks to Jackie "Sure if you want to jump in and work I am sure they would love you to work" she smiles

6/4/2022 15:40:38 Jackie heads for the locker where she had stored some work clothes, and pulls a coverall on over her outfit. Once so protected from the messy hazards of auto work, she grabs a clipboard for the next job in line. She flips through it with a thoughtful crease in her forehead, then gets the car and pulls it in to lift it on a hoist. "Sounds like brakes. Pads at least, probably rotors too. Maybe even the disks, at this mileage. Anyway, Lorna, I wanted to pick your brain while I was here."

6/4/2022 15:44:43 Lorna perches on the edge of the desk. "Ah, right. I get you. See, back where I come from, we're blunt spoken people. If someone's being a prat, we tell 'em they're a prat. Yorkshire folk have very thick skins - and very forthright mouths. I suppose that sort of thing doesn't go down so well here." She sips her drink. "Doesn't change that they're still a bloody fool, though. Will you stop that!" She glares down at the dog. "So I said the M word. It doesn't mean I actually HAVE one on me!" She sighs. "Walking dustbin. And sure, pick my brains as much as you like. I rarely use 'em."

6/4/2022 15:48:44 Erin laughs softly "yeah some people are big babies and some are weird.. Just be a little " she holds up her fingers to hold up a little "Mindful, But your fine, just that's all" she winks at her then oooos "We are picking brains sweet" she giggles.

6/4/2022 15:55:45 Jackie speaks up over the noise of removing the wheels from the car to get at the brakes. "Ok, thanks. Near as I can tell, you're the prime biker expert around that I can grill. Especially when it comes to the local bike culture from the side of not being 200 lbs and male. So, since I'm thinking of getting a bike and into all that now that I'm out here, I figured you might have some good starter advice?"

6/4/2022 15:58:57 Scene set: it's Saturday so the shop is a little busy, there are no customers waiting but there are 2 guys working along with Jackie to get the cars moving. Lorna just came to perch by the front desk where Erin is at, the smell of donuts, fresh popcorn and coffee fill the air along with well other shop smells, the girls are talking and the men are working hehe.

6/4/2022 16:00:05 Lorna scratches her neck thoughtfully. "Well, if I was going to pick brains, I'd not have picked mine..." She laughs. "Well, I am not the best expert on the local 81s. I've not been in town too long, and seriously, I am an outsider. And wasn't in a chapter back home. Girls was pillion ornaments, not riders. I am not saying Yorkshire is misogynistic, but if I tried to join as a rider, I'd probably have ended up thrown in a river. So not too hot on the social stuff. But on the BIKE - absolutely! You want something really classic, vintage... or a traditional Harley type? or do you want to go right up to date and get a truly epic speed and performance profile?"

6/4/2022 16:02:23 Sark probably chooses a rather inappropriate time to stop and use both fists to lightly pound on the shop front door as a manner of knocking. Barefoot in a pair of simple jeans and a plain blue tshirt, he at least stops to rake both hands through his hair as if that's going to make it look a little straighter while he waits to see if Erin's home and does NOT have a her face buried in a machine.

6/4/2022 16:08:10 Erin was getting ready to say something but there is knocking and she looks curiously over at the door "Sark oh sup, come in" she smiles and she grins "You don't have to knock when the shop is open hon but come in i'd like you to meet some of my friend" she points "This is Lorna, and that over there is Jackie.. you've met the boys Bob and Steven" she grin "What brings you by" she then looks to Jackie and gives her a wink/

6/4/2022 16:13:03 Jackie pokes her head up under the wheel wells scrutinizing the brake systems. She grimaces lightly at Lorna's description of her description of how women were treated back in that club. "Yup, pads and rotors. Disks'll pass for another go around, at least. But ok, starting from the point of the hardware seems good. Really, I'm gonna want something fast. And nimble. I was actually looking into it, and there's this company called Zero that's making electric bikes that look pretty good. Hell, even Harley has an electric model now, can you believe it?"

6/4/2022 16:13:03 Jackie comes out from under the car, waving at Sark with a brake fluid stained hand. "Oh, hi! I'm Jackie, brand new here. I, uh, take it you're a friend, not a customer?"

6/4/2022 16:20:20 There is a nod to Sark. "We've met before, actually. How do, mister?" Lorna Swigs her coffee and thinks for a while. "WEll, that rules the real vintage out. I mean, I love old bikes. Mine's a darling. But once she gets up over eighty-five, she starts to seriously complain. I've never got her up to a hundred without ever wondering if I was going to die. I keep meaning to look into making her electric, but it would be a crime to try on such a work of art. Now let's think... electric. Zero? I know them. They're at the cutting edge of it. You won't get the same speed and range as a petrol engine, but it is a lot better for the environment, and I am all for that. But if you want insane speed, they aren't the best option. They'll peak a bit over one-twenty. Put it in context... fastest Harley is about three-twenty. See the difference?"

6/4/2022 16:21:35 Sark smiles brightly at Erin's greeting and bounds through the front door, practically bouncing as he heads over to the shorter woman and glomps onto her with a big hug. Squeezing for a moment before releasing her, he clasps his hands behind his back and backs off a step, bouncing a little as he turns enough to see everyone again, "Customer? Oh! No,no. I don't own a machine. I just like watching Erin work on them. Its fascinating!" He grins a little more and nods at Lorna, "Yepyep, I know YOU fix stuff too. You offered to help Marina with her boat! Are ALL of you, um....mechanics?" There's a pause before he offers to Jackie, "I'm Sark! Nicetemaeecha!" Feel that 'overexcited little brother vibe'? Yeah, that's him, and he doesn't seem to care about the oil and grease stains he's getting on his feet, bounding around the shop floor.

6/4/2022 16:27:57 Erin offs as Sark takes her up in a hug and she laughs hugging him back and kissing his cheek before she smiles "Good to see you too" she nods "Harleys's always win with me but that's me" she grins "Yes we are all what you call a mechanic" she smiles softly 'How are you doing?" she asks the tall so tall man.

6/4/2022 16:33:47 Jackie blinks a few times, first at the numbers coming from Lorna, then at the amount of sudden bouncing in the garage. She wipes her hand off on a cleaning rag before pulling out her phone and fiddling with it. "Yeah, nice to meet you too, Sark. Glad you're... having a good time. Three twenty? No way, that can't be real..."

6/4/2022 16:36:14 "Real as I stand here." Lorna says simply. "Fastest Harley clocks that. Not the electric, mind. Actually, Harley's electric is about as fast as my bike, so if you want speed, it's not your best choice. But Zero or Harley electric are going to cost you over twenty grand, minimum. So I wouldn't get your heart set on them unless you got a lot of loose change."

6/4/2022 16:38:04 Sark grins brightly at Erin, "Is good. Horse ranch friend is moving away, but I am working on it so I can keep island. Good stuff!" When they confirm they are all mechanics, he nods quickly and lowers his voice, "I promise not to ask tons of questions and interrupt!" Oh, but then there's puppy! Sark easily drops down to his knees and offers the huge dog a good ruffling, rubbing his face into the dog's neck in greeting before sitting back on his haunches, looking back up at all three women, just trying to follow the conversation.

I am sure we all would be glad to answer them." she winks "Jackie is trying to get a fast motorcycle though we call them Bikes for short" she grins as the dog gets attention.

6/4/2022 16:46:14 Jackie squints at her phone, then chuckles. "Ok, you got me, you are technically correct. But that bike was a twenty three foot long two thousand and five hundred pound drag racer. I think I want something a bit smaller. But that still leaves a lot of good possible. None of them cheap though, you're right. Maybe not actually out of range though..."

6/4/2022 16:49:36 The huge dog slobbers all over Sark. Because this is what huge dogs do. Lorna sighs. "Sorry. He's such a drooly beast at times. And yes, I did repair the boat. Running nice and smooth last time I spoke to it." She grins impishly. Of course, in her case... She grins at Jackie. "That's the point. the term 'bike' covers a lot of different sins. But you know, you could do things my way. Get something really old and knackered, and fix it up yourself. Learn a lot that way, and it is so satisfying. Doing that, you'll get a nice bike. And with a steady job, get saving. Electric will drop in price pretty quickly over time."

6/4/2022 16:51:01 Sark nods slowly at Erin's explanation, "Right. Bikes. The two wheels with very loud engines. Um...hogs. Yes?" He seems quite confident in that answer, while looking back and forth between Jackie and Lorna, absorbing their conversation like a sponge, while the dog continues to get affectionate ruffles with both hands, apparently not minding the slobbering at all. Eew. Lorna mentioning the boat is fixed seems to cheer him up even further, "Oh good! Maybe we can go shark fishing sometime soon then."

6/4/2022 16:52:35 Erin looks between Lorna and Jackie "You do know that you just have to pick the frame the rest we can build ourself and make it go just as fast as you want it with the right mods and things right.. Like that's something we can totally do, also it will help with what you want and bring down some of the cost and in the long run makes it even more special, and you learn like Lorna said" she nodsnods then grins at Sark "I told you we could go out sometime, just to becareful" she nodsnods.

6/4/2022 17:02:03 Jackie puts her phone away, nodding and letting out a soft sigh. "Yeah, you're not wrong. I think I got kinda distracted by the idea of new and shiny, which is silly. But I can always try that later on too, right? So frames, frames... I don't know, what would make for a really light and quick ride? I want something I can race with, because that'll help cover the cost in the long term."

6/4/2022 17:05:01 Lorna nods to Erin. "Could build it from scratch. I've never done it, but then, I had my heart set on the beauty I got out in the shop there. I made a lot of the parts though, those I couldn't find elsewhere. It's about eighty per cent original pieces, though. All the really important stuff is original. We got the forge here, though. Three of us could probably make anything we felt like, between us." Then she frowns. "And I don't think Marina would like us going out on her catamaran to go shark fishing. She is all about marine preservation. Although shark does taste good, I'm told." She considers Jackie's question. "If you are rebuilding to your own custom spec, not a total vintage rebuild, you can do worse than a vintage frame. I'd get a Royal Enfield, or an Indian. Seriously, Indian would be best. Look up Burt Monroe. He made an Indian bike practically fly. You want lightweight with incredible acceleration and top speed? Indian. Every time."

6/4/2022 17:07:33 Sark nods quickly at Erin and chirps at her, "Of course!" He finally sits back on his butt, oblivious of the cat for the moment. Instead, he offers Lorna a bright smile, "Shark is good eating. Marina wont mind if we hunting just for dinner. But dont have to use the boat, I 'spose!" The mention of an Indian has him tilting his head a little more curiously at Lorna, but he doesn't press or ask a question. Yet.

6/4/2022 17:17:46 Jackie nods as she starts getting the parts together for the brake job. "I do see your point. I did all the custom work on my car, even if I didn't build it from scratch. So let's try that out, and see what we can put together. Now... is the shark fishing thing really a serious suggestion?"

We all know how to put a bike together, ut we have different approaches, so we can pool ideas. Then we can start getting the work done. Portion it out, like."w

6/4/2022 17:35:34 Sark looks down when he's meowed at and chirps, "Kitty!" offering the cat a good scritching with both hands. He finally slowly lumbers back up to his feet, idly dusting his jeans off as he straightens up and eyes all three women, then leans over and gives Erin a smooch on her cheek, "I am going to go get me some hot chocolate and a muffin. I will stop by later if you are going to still be building?" He then offers Jackie and Lorna a wave and smiles, "And happy to see you both. Thank you for letting me interrupt."

6/4/2022 17:45:44 Lorna nods to the man. "Fishing would be interesting. I'd go along, if only for the promise of a good meal." She swigs down her coffee and goes for a refill. The dog, however, steps aside. Away from the cat. He's not going to give it any chance of devious attacks.

6/4/2022 18:02:23 Jackie does a quick last inspection and lowers the lift. She signs off on the clipboard and hands it off to one of the guys to get the paperwork done. Then she scrubs her hand puts away the working coveralls. "Alright, all done. You wanted to go somewhere quieter?"

"I will, I am not a slob. Just been kind of crazy busy recently. C'mon, fuzzy." She rises and goes to the office, and holds the door open.

"My mam would tan my backside if I had a place anything but pristine when the landlord came over. She brought me up better than that. That's practically disowning level of crime in her mind. It's a Yorkshire thing." She perches on the edge of the big desk. maybe she is allergic to chairs. She looks down to the huge dog who sits, and sighs.

"I *suppose* you are just about qualifying as someone on the inside. I mean, really, I try not to introduce myself like this, but you're going to be here a lot of the time, and it is better not to let things slip."

Though I was thinking of giving Jackie here a key just in case for whatever reason she needs to go up there. Will you be ok with that?" she actually asks before she ohs as the dog starts to talking to Jackie.

More or less. I'm not one of the wolf types. But I am a manifest spirit, and it seems only fair that you know about it, young lady." He cocks his head at Jackie. "My name is Cain. Since we're going to be working together, it seems only fair you know it. And I am very partial to fresh steak."

6/4/2022 18:27:11 Erin laughs "The good old Sock I see, that I think might work" she winks then looks back to Jackie waiting for the dog talking to her to sink in. She smiles and looks around a little bit before she shrugs.

6/4/2022 18:41:43 Lorna sighs. "Not that i got anybody to bring home for that sort of thing at the moment. I scared everybody off back home with the tattoos and the attitude. And now I am here, I think the same is happening. Or they can;t understand a bloody word I say with this accent."

6/4/2022 18:50:17 Jackie gives Lorna a sympathetic look, then gets distracted by Cain. "Hmmm, I wouldn't have thought anyone in out circles would be scared of much of anything... True, cats can be dangerous. Especially magical ones. Like that, see!"

Play nicely together or we'll have to take steps to keep you apart." Exactly how she would ground a teleporting dog is unclear. "Anyway. Jackie, this is Cain. He is my mentor, my tutor, and rather too fond of the sound of his own voice. And cleverness. And for all his huge size and fierce teeth, he is an abject coward."

6/4/2022 19:01:10 Kringer gets the reaction he was expecting that the dog yelps and he is now being yelled at him. He looks at him as he steps away and then to add insult to injury he moves over to rub up against him when Lorna says they have to share and be good he then heads towards Jackie.

You are lucky I still love you, fuzzy face. Sometimes I get the urge to send you to the moon or something. Build a rocket, send you right up there. Anyway, Cain. He's not as bad as he seems, but he does have this superiority complex. Treats me like his own laboratory rat. No idea why."

6/4/2022 19:06:50 Lorna sighs again. "Kringer and Cain have been doing this since the moment they met. I don't even pretend to understand half of what happens. Not sure I want to. They seem determined to aggravate one another. But it is getting very old. I think it is time to put them on the naughty step."

6/4/2022 19:20:00 Jackie doesn't even try to hold out as Kringer bumps into her leg. She crouches down and provides the demanded pets while looking up to Erin and Lorna. "Well, I guess it just means it's never a dull moment around here, huh? I can think of worse problems to have."

We can work on that" she blinks as her phone pings and she takes the phone out and tilts her head as she starts to text someone then they text back it seems and she makes a little face and gives a little sigh as she sends out another text.

6/4/2022 19:27:09 Kringer purrrrs as Jackie pets the house cat he is so tiny compared to the big dog but the cat turns to look to Cain and meows at him though he is busy getting pets from Jackie right now.

6/4/2022 19:32:04 Jackie looks down at Kringer. "Come on now, no need to rub it in, is there?" She gives Cain a sympathetic look, quietly mouthing that she'd bring him a snack later. Then she looks back up to the other ladies. "Anyway, thanks for letting me know. I can feel at least a little less crazy now."

"If she looks like she is spaced out and talking to things that aren't there, she probably isn't." he lowers his voice and says "She sees dead people!"

6/4/2022 19:40:28 Jackie chuckles at Cain, standing back up straight. "Fans of old movies, are you? I ran into Reno and Stephen last night, and apparently he's been watching old horror movies."

6/4/2022 19:42:50 Cain looks skeptical, however. "Maybe. And that was an... acceptable movie. Now Double Indemnity, that is a great movie. Metropolis. Casablanca. Memento. They are GREAT movies." he then sniffs superior in manner. "I was in Casablanca."

You're always coming out with crazy things nobody can disprove." Jackie gets a smile though. "I like old horror movies. You ever seen Theatre of Blood? It's a very daft film, but really funny."
