+ | Halle paces before the fire a few steps as she recounts the trip. "An icy winter spreads across the Legendary Realm. The Fimbulwinter, the Laster Winter. The death of myths and memories and legendary deeds. It freezes entire kingdoms within the Realm. And Helios led us ever deeper into the frozen lands. The cold gripped at your soul, like it would take every last memory that you had. But we pushed on as fast as we could. And eventually we came to a place, a kingdom from long ago. From before the Gauntlet closed in and separate spirit from flesh," Halle says. | ||
"We were both wolves. I found myself living as not just a wolf, but the Great White Wolf, whom sacrificed himself for Gaia, and from whom all Garou are descended," Halle says in a voice soft and reverent. "I had never heard the details of his sacrifice. As we ran together as a pack, we sensed something troubling ahead. Defiant Storm went to survey the land, but our spirits were pulled into the celestial skies above. There we saw a great spider, the Weaver, spinning her webs while the chaotic blur of the Wyld's creation pushed back against her. Around them both the Wyrm circled, a serpent tearing at them, and especially at the Weaver's webs. Luna and Helios were in the sky, and Gaia beneath," Halle says. Her voice carries her awe as she describes seeing not just members of their spirit broods, but the embodiment of the Celestials and Triat. | "We were both wolves. Kinfolk House - Front Yard and Porch
Set into the hillside is a beige colored ranch house with a wrap around porch and a a single wide roof that makes the house almost look like a barn. There is a thick treeline surrounding the house on all sides, but leaving a clearing just shy of a football field out front. Access to the house is through a driveway that comes up out of sight towards the garage on the side of the house. The front lawn has a large fire pit in the middle of it, with a ring of stones around it, while scattered around on metal frames are rope hammocks, large enough to hold the biggest beast or two. There is also a pull down screen and projector set up for movie nights for entertainment. On the porch are a few signs in different languages, all coming to say the same thing, 'A place of tranquility for kinfolk'. There is also a bunch of rocking chairs and swings there for people to sit in.

Pig Roast(#13044)
A large boar has spent the day being roasted and is ready to eat. Trays full of food are set out on tables. There are hot dogs and hamburgers for those who don't want bbq pork, as well as all sorts of side dishes and vegetables. A plethora of desserts sit on another table, with pies in multiple flavors, cakes, pastries, and of course jello. Because what is a cookout without jello?
Beverages are plentiful as well. Kegs of beer are on tap and there are also bottles of alchocol and mixers, as well as softer beverages.
Wood for a bonfire has been set out, and plenty of extra chairs and blankets have been set around the fire. A number of people have brought their instruments and are providing music.
NOTE: There is a magic aura of peace in effect in the area. Please play accordingly. Acts of violence require a contested roll. Page Halle if you have questions.
Sergei has arrived.
Catherine has arrived.
Howling-Wind comes loping along the trail towards the kinfolk house in wolf form, setting a decent enough pace though slowing somewhat when he comes out of the treeline. Sniffing at the air.
The cookout is just getting started. The wild boar was hunted down and has been cooking through the day to be ready now. Fresh cuts of meat are sitting in warming trays on the tables, along with all sorts of side dishes and desserts.
Halle comes out of the house, carrying a big pitcher of lemonade. She adds some ice to a glass and pours one for herself. "Kevin, do you want a beer?" she asks him. Halle smiles over to some of the other kin who have helped out. "Everything looks fantastic, thank you so much for the help," she tells them. There's a feeling of peacefulness out here. Garou will find they don't have their normal struggle to keep their Rage suppressed, so tranquil does the place feel.
Brooke has arrived.
Like the Wind has arrived.
Not far behind Halle, Kevin is carrying an armload of... something or other pig roast related that is heavy. Work with me here! It's funny, because his flannel is large and loose on him, so he doesn't LOOK like someone who would be strong, more... frumpy and nerdy. Maybe the guy is just trying to show off for his wife. "Beer sounds divine, actually, Halle. I think Confusious said something like that once. Hash-tag internet quotes."
Dragomir has arrived.
Dusk has arrived.
Howling-Wind was first out of the tree line but some of his pack mates are likely not far behind. He approaches Halle and the stranger at a more casual pace and gives a woof of >>Greetings.<<
Hjalmar has arrived.

Trudging up the hillside, following the driveway, Dusk hikes at a easy pace until he gets to the clearing and takes a pause. A soft smile spreading his lips, following the smell of roasting pork, he resumes walking heading towards the refreshment stand.
Halle pours Kevin a beer from one of the kegs, bringing it over to him and leaning against him, her arm going about his waist. "Evening, glad you could make it," she says to Howling-Wind as the wolf woofs. "Have you met my husband, Kevin?" she asks the wolf and motioning to the man she's got her arm about. Halle tells Kevin, "Howling-Wind was one of the Garou who fought the Banes so Jake and I could get onto the moon path."
Frost has arrived.
Accepting the beer from Halle, Kevin kisses his wife lightly on the lips. Hooray for PDA, but no it's not more than a loving peck. He gently squeezes her closer about the waist and says to Howling-Wind, "It's a pleasure to meet you, Howling-Wind. Thank you for safeguarding my wife and best friend's path." His bodylanguage, for any garou who care to notice, is... well, very humble. This kin knows his place. He carries himself with a sense of belonging, and with confidence, but he nigh subconsciously keeps his shoulders just a little slumped when facing Garou to show deference.
There was a celebratory pig roast. And Hjalmar is not one to turn down pig roast or a feast in the honour of warriors! He follows the route towards the kinfolk house and the closer he comes, the more he can smell the good smell of roasted pork! He's carrying a leather rucksack from which the clanking of earthernware bottles can be heard. A smile shows on his face and he nods to the other people already here. Introductions will come soon ofcourse.
Jake has arrived.
Brooke arrives to the gathering, looking about for her pack mates. A nod of the head, greeting Howling-Wind, then a look around to see who else is here. Several she does not know, and some she does. She waves in general, "Hey! Smells good here." She heads over toward her pack mate first.
Once at the refreshments, Dusk spies the spread before helping himself to a diet pepsi. Glancing in her direction first, he smiles at the public display of affection, then offers a wave with the hand holding his can to Halle. "Hey again. Thank you for throwing the party, but I'm a little unclear on what the occasion is for." He cants his head while he opens the can, "Something about you and Jake and something Umbrally?"
Stepping out of the wood line like this was a scene out of Field of Dreams or something -- Dragomir comes walking towards the kinfolk house. The man takes a moment to look around, assessing the situation and the people before the Russian starts to make his way towards the gathering and offers his greetings. Any Garou or Kinfolk that participates in bawn patrol would know Dragomir, as the Silver Fang that barks orders at them and tells them where to go all day long. "Evening everyone."
Sergei melts effortlessly up into his human shape and nods at Kevin "Sergei Ivanov of human name. Among the Nation I am Howling-Wind, son of Bloody-Snow, son of Blood-on-the-Wind. Wolf-born Ahroun of Great Wendigo's people at the Sept of the Siberian Wilds. I am now a member of the Sept of Enduring Spirit and the Pack Terminal Velocity in service to Merlin and the Nation as an Adren. You are a fortunate man to have one of the Blagoslovennyy as a wife." When Dragomir arrives there's a shift to Sergei's body language, a portion of his awareness is drawn to his Alpha's presence and disposition.
Frost approaches, a backpack slung over one shoulder and a basket in the other. She looks around the group curiously, then turns to head over towards the food table to put the basket down, taking the covering off the top to reveal cupcakes within. Spotting Dusk she lifts one hand, giving him a small wave and a smile.
Halle is a bit more PDA-y than normal, giving Kevin a hug after the quick kiss before looking back to flash smiles to the new arrivals. "Welcome everyone, plenty of food and drink, help yourselves," she says. Halle gives a nod of her head to Dusk. "Yes, a little bit later we can tell the whole story if anyone is interested. Helios sent me to one of the Umbral realms and told me to take a Garou I trusted. Getting there was an issue, as the Banes are actively trying to isolate the realm. So a number of Garou and Bastet fought some that were guarding a moon path, allowing us to slip past in the fight."
Brooke gets a phone call, and walks away to answer it.
Jake arrives as well, dressed a little more formally in black slacks and a white button down shirt. He blinks when he sees the crowd and grins slightly before ambling towards the house, offering a wave. "Evening all. Man, this is going to be quite a party." Eventually he makes it over to Halle and Kevin.
Hjalmar walks over to the food and drinks table, and opens his rucksack. Out of it he pulls several earthernware bottles of apparently mead, which he places on the table. He turns back to the others, trying to spot people he already know here and trying to see whos who in the hierarchy of this area. "Eens zien hoe ze hier een feast houden." He says to no one in particular and a grin shows.
Inclining his head to Sergei, Kevin says "I am Kin to the Glasswalkers, Kevin Alan Kim. Again, a pleasure, Howling-Wind." He smiles broadly, "There is no day I don't count my blessings just for having met, Halle. I couldn't agree with you more." Jake's arrival draws Kevin's eyes and, while his humble bodylanguage does not change a lot over all, there is far more relaxation in it when he greets Jake. "Brother! Good to see you. I haven't heard everything, but from the sounds of it you guys DESERVE the party."
Spying Dragomir, then Brooke, Dusk gives them both plenty of space at the table with a friendly, "Hey," to both. Bobbing his head, Dusk nods to the affirmative, back to Halle, though, "Oh, I'd very much like to hear the story." And with the synopsis, he grins broadly, and holds up both hands in a defensive position, "Woah, save some for lat--" And then he pauses, mouth dropping open, while still smiling. He points at Frost, "Holy ssssh--. I had no idea."
Dragomir nods towards Brooke when she gets her call, accepting that she has 'other obligations' - which is likely code for.. it means she's walking further away with her Weaver gadget, so that's a good thing in his mind. He walks up behind Sergei and places a hand over the back of the man's shoulders in a friendly manner. Likely one of the few that could get away with embracing the Ahroun in such a manner. When he hears Kevin's introduction he nods and his attention is diverted towards Jake, "Good evening Defiant Storm-rhya." he nods his head, then turns back to look towards some of the others and nods in greeting.
Halle gives Sergei a grateful smile and a bow of her head. "Thank you," she tells Sergei at the complimentary Russian term. When Jake shows up, Halle gives him a huge smile. "Looking sharp," she says of his suit. Halle is looking quite casual instead. In fact she's not wearing shoes even, walking around in the grass barefoot. Halle smiles to Dragomir and nods her head to him. "Glad you and your pack could make it, I hope the pig turned out well." The woman's glance goes to Hjalmar, spotting someone she hasn't met yet. "Glad you could make it as well. I'm Halle, kin to the Children of Gaia," she offers as introduction to Hjalmar.
There is a very peaceful aura that can be felt in the area. For Garou in particular, the normal effort it takes to keep their Rage suppressed doesn't even seem to be needed once they get close enough to the gathering.
Viator has shown up as ..he was seemingly requested, the deep grumble of his car engine cutting out before the old grouch comes along with his typical equipment of his cooler of teas..and his hammock bag. He never even says hello before setting up -his- Perch/Throne and then situating his cooler under it for easy tea access. He's able to glower as he settles into it, experimentally twisting, turning, making sure the stand is -just- right before he watches Halle, Tiger Tosser! See? He knew some one!
Jake claps Kevin on the shoulder and chuckles warmly. "Brother, we deserve a month at Club Med!" He winks. "I'm so glad you were able to come. Can't wait to see some of your new projects." He then looks from face to face, almost studying everyone like he hasn't seen them in quite a while. Dragomir gets a reply nod. "Good evening."
Frost makes the motion of laughing though no sound comes out, her shoulders lifting in a light shrug. She gets herself something to drink and walks over towards Dusk, a familiar face in the sea of others. Digging into her backpack she pulls out a small notebook, resorting to pen and paper tonight. She scribbles something down then turns it to show it to him.
Giving Jake a fierce one-armed hug, Kevin shakes his head as he says "Well, eat drink and be merry, then, right?" laughing. He doesn't stray from Halle. He seems as inclined as she is to be, near literally, joined at the hip. If his arm isn't about her waist, he is lightly trailing his fingers through her hair or simply standing very close. "Man. I need to come around more often, I guess. So many faces I don't know here."
Timer Halle: Thu May 24 18:29:31 2018 PST
Dragomir nods towards Halle and smiles, "It is good to see you returned safely Halle." a glance towards Kevin and he offers, "I am Dragomir Mihailovich, known as Eye of the Storm. Adren Silver Fang born under the half-moon on two legs. Alpha of Terminal Velocity, the Children of Merlin. Nice to meet you." He shifts his gaze around to look towards Dusk and offers to him, "Evening Dusk.. you should come introduce your friend." he indicates to Frost, and then nods towards Hjalmar in greeting. "The pig smells very good Halle. I am sure Howling Wind will do unspeakable damage to it." he grins.
Hjalmar looks towards the woman seemingly addressing him and smiles. He gives her a respectful nod. And in a warm deep voice of an almost enchanting quality, "Thank you. I am glad to have been invited. The name's Hjalmar Hamerslag." His accent is clearly European. "Rited, Shield Brother, born on two legs under the half moon of the Philodox. A Cliath of the Fianna." He smiles warmly and also gives a nod to the man next to her. "I do hope to hear much of the saga for which we are having this feast tonight." He returns the nod of Dragomir. "That it does indeed. It has had good time above the fire by the smell of it."
Sergei doesn't flinch, blink, or twitch at Dragomir's approach and contact. The other new arrivals and introductions get noted and nodded at with the appropriate degrees of respect. To the conversation about the umbral quest he does not add any comment yet but Dragomir's comment gets a grin "Ever since my rite of passage boars and I have had a special relationship. So far that's been me eating them."
Halle grins back to Dragomir. "It's so good seeing you again. It's been so long," Halle tells him. "Or, well, you at least know what I mean," Halle adds with a soft chuckle. She looks over to Kevin and leans her head against his shoulder affectionately, as if she is indeed joined at the hip with him.
Halle smiles to Hjalmar and says, "It's a pleasure to meet you, Shield Brother-rhya. Please eat and drink and enjoy yourself. We're toasting the valiant deeds of a couple of our packs, and two of the Bastet as well." Speaking of the cats, Halle waves and flashes a smile towards Viator. "Glad you came," she tells him. Meanwhile, the band is starting up, playing soft enough people can still talk over them. A mix of instruments: two guitars and a drum and a flute and an acoustic bass.
Jake hugs Kevin back. Clearly the two men have a long history together. He then regards Frost before listening intently to Hjalmar's introduction before smiling at the man. "Welcome to Prospect, Shield Brother. I'm Jake Miller, Ahroun Elder of the Shadow Lords, rited Defiant-Storm, Sept Wyrmfoe, packed to Zephyr's Hand and mated to Giselle Anderson Miller." He grins at Sergei.
Meeting Frost halfway, and widening his smile at her mimed laughter, Dusk takes a look over his shoulder, and nods to Dragomir, before turning his attention back. For a moment, watching her root through her backpack before looking around her at the basket she put down. Tilting his head and leaning down to get a better read from the paper before he chuckles and nods his head, "And you. I didn't know you were stalking me though. I could have just made it easier for you and given you my schedule so you'd know where I'd be."
Teasing, Dusk walks around her to the basket she's put down and looks at the cupcakes carefully, before making a selection of a yellow looking one. "Looks nice. You bake? C'mere for a second?" he asks, but doesn't give her much of a choice, leading Frost to Dragomir. "Evelyn Frost, this is Dragomir something really long and hard for me to pronounce." Dusk turns his attention to Drago and smiles apologetically, but at least he's honest, "Sorry."
Viator ensures his spot is secure before he addresses Halle. "Well, I was told I must make an appearance, and I did allow you to toss me onto an infested vessel. After that, this -hardly- would seem like a thing to fear. I am still hoping Clarisse can make it." He begins to grouse, mostly to him self.
"Bacon brought me from the dark depths of veganism to the meat side of the force," says Kevin with a grin, "So I can attest to the allure." Inclining his head to Daromir, again bodylanguage showing deference by default, Kevin says to the Garou "Wonderful to meet you. I am sure you heard, but all the same it is only polite I tell you, I am Kin to the Glasswalkers, my name is Kevin Alan Kim. I am Halle's mate." He tilts his head to one side, "Children of Merlin. I convess.... I had not thought to hear that name in context of a pack. Forgive my ignorance, but is Merlin a totem spirit as well, then? Or is the name a human reference to the Arthurian Cycle?"
Frost's shoulders move in a sighing motion, her eyes roll in an exaggerated motion as she smirks at Dusk. She sobers a little as they're called over, walking first then writing, being cautious to not run into anyone for a change. She writes in her notepad, then holds it out for Dusk to read, adopting him as her phone app for the evening it appears. Once its read she lifts her hand curling her fingers in a small wave as she offers a polite smile.
Dragomir nods towards Kevin and offers, "It is a fair question.. commonly mistaken. Merlin is a bird of frey, one of Falcon's brood. A valiant bird, smaller in stature than most - but fierce against foes larger than it. Terminal Velocity has proven to honor this description as well." He smiles to Halle, "She looks much happier with you present Kevin, of Glass Walker. Glad you could make it."
Dragomir turns to look towards Frost and Dusk, and nods his head. The man's nostrils flare slightly, taking a moment to look Frost over and considers her, "Good Evening Evelyn Frost. You have a strong scent. Do you know of your breeding and tribe affiliation?" He looks towards Dusk and arches his brow, then offers, "Dragomir Mihailovich, known as Eye of the Storm. Adren Silver Fang Philodox, Alpha of Terminal Velocity." He looks back towards Dusk and says, "I am going to be offering a Sept Lesson on the use of titles and honorifics, you should come."
Sergei looks briefly confused at Kevin as Dragomir explains "Arthurian? Who is Arthur?"
Halle tells Viator, "I'm not sure if I've met her before, I hope she can make it. And yes, this should be a bit less stressful than fighting Black Spiral Dancers. At least, I certainly hope so." She gives a soft grin and then smiles over to Frost. "Glad you could come. The cupcakes look delicious, I'm going to have to try one," Halle says to the other woman. She looks back to Dragomir then to say, "Eye of the Storm-rhya, Jake and I are going to say a few words of thanks in a bit here. I was wondering if you, or a galliard who knows the tale, might like to tell of the Banes at the entrance to the moon path. Jake and I didn't get to see what happened well enough to do it justice, I'm afraid."
Jake chuckles at Kevin. "Bacon has that effect for sure. It's probably toppled a few civilizations too." He watches Dusk introduce Evelyn and nods to them as well. "Welcome to you as well, Evelyn." He looks back at Hjalmar. "If you're not settled here yet and need a place to stay let me know. Also, I'd appreciate it if you signed up for patrol duty. Dragomir will assign you a group to join. He's in charge of the scheduling."
Hjalmar looks back at Halle and nods, he looks towards the person she waves at and then back to her . "I love to hear when different sorts of shifters work together to help our world, I cannot wait to hear the full story." He gestures towards the drinks table. "I also brought a few bottles of mead for the feast. I do hope it falls into people their taste." Then he turns towards Jake as he introduces himself, a respectful nod is given after the introduction. "Well met Jake, Defiant-Storm-rhya." It has been a long time since he used such an old term after one's rite name... Bur better safe than sorry. "I appreciate the warm welcome." He smiles warmly at the man before turning towards Viator with a grin. "Clarisse you say? Does she per chance work at a petstore? She helped me getting a place to rent here in the city."
Leaning once again to look at her notes, Dusk murmurs, "Oh that's alot," under his breath. He clears his throat and answers Dragomir's introduction with hers, "She is Evelyn Frost, kin of the Black Furies?" Dusk looks at her sceptically for a quick moment, and then goes back to reading, "Uh, adopted daughter of the Ahroun known to her sisters as Bright storm." He purses his lips, impressed. "Huh." He then looks up from the notebook and is a little rude, speaking about her as if she isn't here, "She doesn't speak. Can't speak. But I think she can read sign language," Dusk wiggles his pinkies and ring fingers since his hands are otherwise occupied, "of one kind or another?" he asks, looking back at Frost for confirmation. Before his attention is brought back to Dragomir, "I'd love to go," he offers brightly.
"Arthur was the once and future king of the Brittons, a tribe of humans in a land across the sea. Even in this land, the legend is popular and a part of human culture with as many interpretations to the tale as there are directions for the wind to blow the leaves," says Kevin to Sergei easily, smiling. "Merlin was the name of a person from the same legend; likely his name was taken from the same bird of prey the pack has as a totem." He looks to Dragomir, saying "I appreciate your taking the time to answer my question, Dragomir-Rhya. Thank you." He then smiles a bit lopsidedly, following up "I am... SO happy to make Halle happy. She certainly does the same for me."
Viator has yet to move towards the food; he'll either do so later, or as always, is far to used to eventually people hand feeding him, as is befit a living Godling. "I found that entire situation rather entertaining." He did after all land on top of one and it was..well, messy. "Though I disliked the things we fought to open a passage for you and your comrade." Then some one is asking about Clarisse and he looks at Hjalmar. "That would be here, indeed." He says bobbing his head a bit. "She is supposed to come here, so I can embarass her by announcing our engagement." Also it's -entirely- possible Viator was the one who paid exoribrant prices for that ring at a certain auction!
Frost smiles, holding the piece of paper as he reads, then nodding when he finishes. She reaches up to tug the thick choker around her neck down a little bit, revealing some healed but nasty claw-scars there, confirming what he said about her talking. She scribbles again, then holds it back out for him to read. Yup, being put to work at a party. Halle's remarks make her smile, and she mouth's 'thank you' while lifting her pencil holding hand to her lower lip and away, making the sign for the words as well.
Sergei nods at Kevin about Arthur "A fianna tale then. To them Merlin is a totem of Wisdom and mystical prowess. A fitting name for them to give a wizard in their tales."
Bjorn has arrived.
Brooke returns from her phone call, looking to see who is all here now, and rejoin the party.
Bjorn makes his way to kinfolk house. He usually visits to see if the kinfolk need anything but coming to the party he smiles and makes his way into the front yard. "What is the occasion?" He asks curiously as he watches the people present. a few faces he recognizes but the most are nothing but strangers to him.
Dragomir nods towards Halle and offers, "Yes of course.. however you want to handle things. We are honored to be here." Then he turns and nods towards Jake's words to Hjalmar, "Yes, we will get you setup on rotation first thing." He listens to Dusk's words, considerate before he responds, "Ahh, very well.. adopted kinfolk of the Black Fury, Evelyn Frost. Welcome to the Sept of the Enduring Spirit. It will be good to have you meet with Howls-at-High-Moon, the Truth Catcher and Eldest of the Black Fury tribe." Back to Kevin he nods at the thank you, before a glance is given towards Viator. "Congratulations on your engagement." That rage suppressing thing works GREAT!
Brooke seeks out her pack mates, and makes her way to Dragomir's side, as a good beta will do.
When the choker is pulled down, revealing the damage to her throat, Dusk's brows knot with deep concern. "Aww, and here I just thought that was just a really cool fashion choice," he says to Frost, looking at her neck. He gives his head a shake when there's another love note to read, "Huh, uh. Oh! Um. Yeah, she knows American Sign Language, and she doesn't start with it because not everyone knows it." He looks up from the note, adding, "She has a speak and spell program on her phone, but thought it wouldn't be appropriate here." Dusk turns back to Frost and shrugs his right shoulder, "I don't think it would be inappropriate here. The Caern, for sure. But not here." Dusk smiles softly, before finally taking a bite from the yellow cupcake he'd selected awhile ago. "Mmm, it's good," he offers Frost, leaving a little dot of frosting on his nose. Dusk offers Frost, "If you already haven't. I think she's still your Tribal elder here."
Turning towards Viator, Hjalmar nods and smiles. "A very friendly woman. And I guess that congratulations are in order then!" Then back to Jake and then Dragomir. "Well a place to stay I have. But absolutely no problem. Assign me a duty and I shall take it." A respecful nod is given to them both.
Frost shakes her head a little at mention of the Fury, but smiles and looks quite eager when mention of meeting her comes up. She nods, turning the notebook sideways and onto a clean page, writing a little bigger so Dusk can be relieved of duty. "Please. Would love to meet her." scribbled across the paper and shown to both of the men talking to her.
Halle walks Kevin over to the door to the kinfolk house as he goes in to get some more bags of ice. She appears loathe to leave his side, but does, walking back over to the others after he's gone. "Well, I guess is a good time then," Halle says to Dragomir and Jake. She goes over and lights the bonfire which was already prepared and just in need of some fire to make it go. Halle motions over to the kinfolk band and they let the music die down.
"Everyone, I wanted to say first, thank you for coming. You probably have no idea just now how much it means to Jake and I to see you all here again," Halle says, sounding like she hasn't seen them in forever or something.
"As a few of you know, Helios recently told me He wanted me to journey to the Legendary Realm in the Umbra, where the legends and histories of the Garou live on. And to take with me a Garou I trust. Defiant Storm was kind enough to accompany me," she says, flashing a grateful smile to Jake. "The Wyrm is actively trying to isolate the Legendary Realm, and the moon paths there are guarded by Banes. A number of Garou and Bastet attacked a group of them so Jake and I could slip past onto the moon path. We'd like to thank all of you who took that risk for us. Eye of the Storm. Howling-Wind. HOwls With the Blood Rain. Hushed Blaze. Like the Wind. Luna's Arrow. Mercy's Messenger. And two of our Bastet friends, Viator and Alexander, who I apologize to for not knowing your rite names. Thank you very much for what you risked for us." Halle flashes a smile to each of them and then looks to Dragomir. "Do you, or one of the others, want to tell the tale of that battle then? After, Jake and I can share what was gained by your efforts."
Frost just looked at you.
Halle adds, to Dragomir, "Also, if I missed anyone, please add them for me."
Viator watches Halle, not overly reacting when no one is truly certain if he has a name other then Viator. She's not alone in being not clued in; none of the Bastet know! Well, his time to needing to speak seems to have passed, and the tiger becomes just that; a tiger and begins getting comfortable!
When the notepad is shown to Dragomir, Dusk senses an opportunity to take another bite. He nods, to show he's read it, while chewing, and then takes a drink of his diet pepsi. His attention is divided towards the lighting of fire, and Halle beginning to address the gathered group. And now that his attention has expanded, he notices the really really really old man Tigger, and smiles in his direction before turning his head back for a second before turning to Forst and pointing at his can of soda while whispering something to her.
Dragomir nods deeply and offers, "We of Terminal Velocity were proud to serve Gaia and risk what was needed for this Halle." He motions towards Brooke and offers, "Hushed Blaze-yuf will tell the tale for you, so you may also know our deeds." Then he walks over and motions to take a seat. A gesture is given towards Dusk and Frost, welcoming them to sit near him and hear the tale.
Iris has arrived.
Brooke nods to Dragomir, and closes her eyes, preparing to tell the story.
Hjalmar turns towards the speakers now everyone is quieting down to well.. Let them speak. He smiles broadly and grabs a bottle of the mead he brought to the table which he opens and takes a swig from.
Frost 'laughs', the one upside of her condition is not having to worry about interupting anything with noise. She nods to Dusk, pointing to the can he's holding but she slides her finger across the word diet and makes a face. Seems she wants regular soda. Turning to walk over to where she's been motioned she sits down, putting her notepad in her lap to fold her hands on top of it.
Bjorn walks amongst the peoples. He reaches for whatever mead is present. If none are there, then he will procure his flask and sip from it. He then makes his way over to the garou. "I wonder how many of my people's legends exist in the legend realm." He says with a smile, thick norse accent on his voice.
Halle smiles and bows her head in a show of respect and gratitude towards Dragomir. Halle turns her attention to Brooke then. The woman goes to get some of the cupcakes that Frost brought, dropping them off with various people including Hjalmar and Viator, though Halle's attention is still on Brooke. The fire is catching now, replacing the departing sunlight with its own warm light.
Jake offers a nod of greeting to Bjorn then turns his attention to Brooke as she readies to tells her tale. He passes on the cupcakes for now but does manage to snag a beer.
Smiling at Frost, Dusk nods to indicate he understands, and while she finds a place to sit, he grabs a can of regular pepsi with all that carby goodness before he too heads for the place to sit where Dragomir's offered, passing the can to Frost on his way, where he sits and eats his cupcake slowly.
Iris arrives more than likely late, trotting to the kinfolk house on a half feral looking white mare, no bridal or saddle, just a handful of mane and dangling legs. The horse is like, 'Oh look, gigantic rage pile. Whatevs.' and stays chill and calm on approach, and when Iris slides off its back, meandering a little off to one side to assume Form Of Living Lawn Mower. (I totally rolled for that privately, promise.) "Hey, people!" she greets all and sundry with a double hand wave and a smile.
Hjalmar nods in appreciation as Halle offers him the cupcake. He mouths a wordless /thank you/ and takes a bite of the delicious thing!

Stepping up in front of the gathered group, Brooke stands up taller than usual, and takes on her performance mode. In a confident voice, she speaks, "The story begins when Defiant-Storm'rhya and Halle asking Eye-of-the-Storm to help run interference so they could enter the Legendary Realm through a moon bridge. So the call went out for people to assist. Of course, Terminal Velocity answered the call in force, as did Mercy's Messenger, and Thunders Fury. Additionally, the Bastet Viator and Alexander lent their paws as well.
As we shifted to Crinos and slipped into the Umbra, we went over our plan of attack. We only had a short time as we approached the location in question, and so working together was a must to be able to give Defiant-Storm'rhya and Halle their chance to get through." Brooke pauses to let that all go over, and seeming to look at them all.
Halle sips her lemonade as she eats the cupcake in little bites, her attention on Brooke's telling of what happened. Halle wasn't able to watch very much of what ensued, so for her this is finding out for the first time just exactly what the war group faced.
Frost takes her soda, and all of its delicious carbs, from Dusk as he walks by. Settling in to sip at it while she watches Brooke tell the story with rapt attention.
Iris side tracks briefly to pay proper homage to the lounging hammock-tiger, giving him a super respectful smackidysmackidysmackidy on the rump before continuing on to the fire and flopping down in a nice spot near Sergei and Dragomir. "Oh I love this story!" she says to no one in particular as Brooke starts up, but falls silent to listen with a kid's rapt attention. Like she wasn't there or anything and this is the first she's hearing about it!
Viator would normally snarl, and fingers might be missing, but this is Pancake, he has decided she is alright it seems. Also it's better then the claws being painted. Also it's not like saying No to Pancake matters, he just gives a belligerent grumble at the entire thing. Grouchy old man type, like she'll care!
Bjorn moves to stand near Dragomir and the group. Remaining outside of it, he watches the goings on curiously and when the story comes he begins to pay attention. He keeps a hand in a pocket and his other hand resting on his hip. He then looks to the people nearby to see if he could identify the people in the story.
Following Iris with his, Dusk smirks softly and shakes his head with bemusement, while holding cupcake stump to his maw, and pausing to sip from his diet pepsi, his attention returning to the Storyteller.
Brooke leans toward the crowd a bit, her arms raised up a bit, with palms down flat. "Eye-of-the-Storm gave us his words to inspire us: 'Today we fight before the gates of the Legendary Realm, may our Ancestors hear our glory and witness our might!" She even pulls off Dragomir's voice when she repeats his words. "This was truly helpful as the moon-light was barely enough for us to see in the dense eerie fog that surrounded this place. The scent of the Wyrm was so strong, you could almost taste it. YUCK."
She turns and takes a step towards Iris. "Mercy's Messenger pointed out that the green flickering fires we saw were Furmlings, corrupted fire elementals, and we should guard ourselves against fire. We were ordered to begin drawing out the banes, and that is just what we did. They came at us, as we hit them one after the other. We each did our best to avoid the balefire they spit at us. Those toxic flames could do damage and it did. As we hit and dodged, some of us would get past, but most of us took some of it." She raises up her skirt, revealing the scar on her shin, left from her Rite of Wounding.
Hjalmar takes a seat somewhere close enough to hear it all without being in someone else's way. He listens intently and decides that he will observe and listen for tonight.
Jake doesn't even touch his beer while Brooks speaks. Yes, he's totally into this story too, even though he was there. Well, not THERE in the thick of things but close by, ready to sprint into action as soon as the battle began and diversion was made.
Halle gives a small wince as she sees the wound, but also an approving look for the Glory of Iris having withstood such an attack. Halle finishes the cupcake, and pours a mug of beer which she brings over to Sergei, amidst listening to Brooke's tale. The kin have all gathered round in their chairs, and some of the kids are still up. Listening with rapt attention to what the Garou and Bastet faced.
At the lifting of Brooke's skirt to the INDECENT shin level, Dusk's eyes widen, and cupcake stump is lowered, showing his mouth agape. Stump is transferred to his drinking hand while he uses his left hand to slow cover his own eyes, then return his visage to normal entertained smile, and hand back to lap.
Dragomir listens to the story, nodding his head and seems pleased with her performance. He looks over to Iris, and then very subtly averts his gaze towards Frost (sitting nearby) before looking back at the story. His eyes shift to Bjorn for a moment, studying the man as his nostrils flare faintly to decipher someone he doesn't know. Though he doesn't interrupt the story to find out.
Howling-Wind is sitting near his Alpha, having relaxed back into his wolf form. Listening Attentively to his packmate's story.
At some Unspoken Thing from Dragomir, Iris looks towards Frost and waves like an idiot at her. No time now for hello's and introductions though, newp, instead she goes back to listening to the Galliard's telling with respectful quiet, putting the rest on her To Do Later list.
Dragomir sits down at Around the Fire Pit.
Viator him self sort of lashes his tail back and forth, at least no one is trying to figure out which scar pattern, burn marks, or whom knows what else, is the Balefire he was hammered with. He him self may not remember, senility and all, or some thing. Nope, lash and lash, then he gets up and begins to approach the pork, basically slinky like leaving his Perch. Frost looks curiously between Dragomir and Iris as the wave comes her way, but smiles in return and scrunches her fingers to wave back. Then there's a tiger prowling his way towards the food and that's something that catches her attention, a soft 'oh' forming though not spoken.
"A bastet helped the garou? That is rare." Bjorn says as he walks over to the food and looks to the tiger. "You must be one from the story. Are you alexander or Viator?" He asks curiously of the old tiger and watches him to see how he would react to a person question him.
Dragomir leans in to whisper something to Frost, gesturing slightly towards Iris before he finally leans back and resumes listening to the story once more.
Brooke takes a couple of steps forward in front of the audience, simulating the path being taken, "Defiant-Storm'rhya and Halle were making their way at this time, struggling as they fight their way to the entrance of the moon bridge, but still going unnoticed for them by the banes, as our distraction team was effective in our plan. We could see that going for the kill was not working, so strategy needed to shift, as wounds kept happening as we anticipated. Instead, it was time to defend and hold. Time was what we needed, not more heads on pikes. Each of us were giving it our all, ripping chunks out of the abominations, and knocking them down. Those with weapons went after them, but some of us, like Mercy's Messenger, healed as she could on the field of battle. Alexander was near death from the attack he took, as he fought bravely alongside us, Viator protecting him with tooth and claw until Mercy's Messenger was able to remove him from danger."
She turns back around, and continues, "Eye-of-the-Storm'rhya and Howls-with-the-Blood-Rain were both able to each kill a one of these particularly nasty banes. Additionally, with the help of Merlin, and Eye-of-the-Storm's ancestor, Zheleznaya Gora, the Silver Fang Elder Hero of the Third War of Rage, swooping in to protect Defiant-Storm'rhya and Halle when they finally crossed the bridge, and we retreated. Our mission was successful, and we all paid a price for it. For some of us, we received our Rite of Wounding. For others, it was another serious mission, where of course death was on the line."
Finishing finally, Brooke stands tall again in front of them, her hands out on either side of her. "Arriving back at the Caern, Shaderunner'rhya was standing by, ready to care for our wounded. One by one, we were all cared for.." she raises a finger "except for Howling-Wind, who made it through the battle with no hits. We all learned much that day, especially how working together, between packs, between Bastet and Garou, can lead to success, even if we do not get to kill all the Wyrm. We accomplished a mission together, to lead to greater things. " She takes a small step back, relaxing a little as the tale is complete.
A number of the kin break out in clapping as the galliard finishes her tale. Halle looks about those who took part in the fight that are present, saying, "Thank you, each of you, for the wounds that you took for us." Halle sets down her lemonade and walks forward to stand before the fire, glancing over to Jake to confirm what he said earlier about relating the tale. "I hope you'll all feel it was worth it in the end. We did make it onto the moon path. As we traveled it, there was a /humongous/ Bane covering the path with some noxious oil. Defiant Storm stunned it when it attacked us, and we were able to tear it apart and force it into Slumber," Halle says.
"We eventually made it into the Legendary Realm. After entering... we found ourselves in Phylace, a city-state of Macedonia. Kevin tells me the ruler, Philip, is a known figure, having been the father of someone named Alexander the Great. Though we never encountered either. Defiant Storm found himself living out the life of his ancestor, Krateros. I found myself living the life of one of his kin, Liljana," Halle says.
"Time works differently there. Years can pass while outside no time has passed at all. And years did pass. Defiant Storm, as Krateros, had his First Change and was rited Summer's Sun for the burning death he brought to a vampire during his Rite of Passage. We lived in the local Sept of Phylace, and the Elders there ruled the city, men and Nation both. Defiant Storm's pack came to be the lead pack in the Sept, under the leadership of a Philodox named Timandros."
Viator is mentioned when he's mid skulk towards the pig, a brief pause, some one speaks to him, a look over, then he's right back to his goal. He'll sit down and -wait- for some one to hold out pig for him; failing to do so may end up with a tiger trying to bat an entire platter to the ground. As cats will do, and it seems unlikely the old grouch is going to be going back to homid form soon. Most of the Garou likely know his peculiar habit of some how avoiding proper socialization by appearing in his feline form. If he has to..he'll begin shadowing Iris till she gives in.
Bjorn stops his questioning when the words were said. Hero of the third war of rage. This gets a grinding of his teeth. His discomfort was noticeable if anyone paid attention to the man and he pulls his hands out of his pockets and clenches them into fists. He looked as if he had more to say. He looked amongst the garou and takes a deep breath. He makes his way over to Dragomir and sits by them. He remains silent for now and content to listen but the look on his face showed he wasnt pleased.
Iris is all about joining the applause for Brooke's tale, tucking a pair of fingers in her mouth for a shrill and congratulatory whistle. Her horse 'over there' perks up like 'sorry, did you call me boss?' and then goes back to grass munching. Meanwhile, Iris quiets down to listen to Halle's side of the tale.
Dusk takes a sideways glance, frowning with perplexity when Dragomir indicates Iris and whispers to Frost. But it only takes a second or two for him to get it, and he lifts his head, mouthing 'aah' to himself. And when the story wraps up, he puts his drink down, having finished his cupcake, and politely applauds with the other background Kin, quieting down when Halle returns to storytelling, making appropriate faces, here and there.
At the mention of the name 'Timandros' Jake's expression darkens slightly and he simply remains silent for now. There's nothing to interject, yet. Halle is doing a first rate job of recounting their adventure. He does take a long pull on his beer though. Ohyeah.
Dragomir is standing when Brooke finishes her tale, and gives a warm round of applause. A proud nod when his ancestor is mentioned as well - like one should nod what Garou Heroes are spoken about. He takes a moment to look around, catching notice of Viator stalking towards the platter with an eye, before turning to look towards Bjorn when he joins the fire ring to sit with them. Though before he has a chance, Halle has begun on the next story and his attention is wrapped once more in studying the words spoken as he sits back down.
Heidi comes in from Kinfolk House - Greatroom and Kitchen Heidi has arrived.
Halle continues the tale in a calm voice, matching that peaceful sensation that fills the area, even if along the way the tale turns darker. "This Alpha, Timandros, was crafty and strong. A great warrior by any standard. In the way of the Shadow Lords, he proved himself stronger and took command. Up until that time, he was a good leader and Defiant-Storm... as Summer's Sun, served as his Beta. But the longer we spent with him, the more clear it became to us both that Timandros was not an ideal for a Shadow Lord to live up to. He was cruel for cruelty's sake. He hoarded power and rather than meet challenges of others, he sought to eliminate anyone long before they could be a challenge," Halle says, her voice carrying regret and notes of emotional pain at the last part.
"Even to the point of culling the numbers of his own Sept, to limit the number who might rise against him one day. He had no concern for the harm he did to Gaia, and to Gaia's Warriors. Finally it reached a tipping point. A great drought had hold of the land, and Timandros would not let the Sept deal with it, not even to save the kin. It got so bad that many tried to leave, but Timandros had any refugees slaughtered, rather than risk them strengthening rival city-states or Septs. Defiant Storm tried his best to help Timandros see reason, but in the end, it became clear that Timandros must be stopped."
Halle glances to Jake, sympathy and support in her eyes. "Defiant Storm challenged Timandros. But knowing Timandros would seize any advantage, even use assassination outside of the challenge, he let it be known he was inhabited by Summer's Sun's descendant, the Elder Ahroun Defiant Storm, and let Timandros know he was his inferior. Timandros had not had an open challenge in so very long, and he snapped, his Rage getting the better of him. He leapt at Defiant Storm in a frenzy. Defiant Storm throated him and tore the head from his body, a true Shadow Lord as he took control of the pack and Sept. And immediately began setting things right, showing the Sept there what it was for a Shadow Lord to rule with both power AND wisdom."
Frost tilts her head and listens as Dragomir speaks to her, nodding as her smile brightens and she nods to Iris. Then the story finishes and she adds her applause to the rest, eyes bright with enjoyment of th tale. Then she quiets once more, turning to listen to Halle's tale.
Heidi blinks once, as she steps out from inside the house, seeming a tiny bit surprised to find so many Gaians in the front yard. Her slate gray eyes widen a fraction as she manages to catch the tail end of Halle's recitation, seeming suitably intrigued.
Viator will let his eyes turn right on Dragomir as he slowly reaches a paw up, as if daring Dragomir to stop any impending disaster, he even bends it like a Submarine Periscope, swivelling it back and forth -just- over table level. He's purposely doing this, that much is clear. This is the guy who stole a cowboy's hat and climbed up a tree and tried to leave it there!
Dre has arrived.
Halle smiles over to Jake with pride at the memory of what he did. "I mentioned time passes differently there. Jake defeated Timandros in our 20th year in the Legendary Realm," Halle says, pausing a moment for it to sink in before she goes on. "Defiant Storm set the Sept to dealing with the drought, but a great perpetual storm existed in those days over a mountain to the north, and even the spirits we made chiminage to had trouble bringing rains. So Defiant Storm beseeched Grandfather Thunder directly. He knew there had been a Gift amongst his tribe that would bring rains, but none in ancient Macedonia knew it, and Jake's own memories of the Gift had been taken from him."
Halle pauses a moment before continuing. "Grandfather Thunder set us both a task, to prove our might by scaling the mountain beneath the perpetual storm - no flying, either of us - and seize the rain from the storm. I wish I were a Galliard to tell the tale properly. To let you feel the hurricane-force winds that tried to blow us from the cliffs. The way our muscles contracted when hit by lightning, leaving his hoping both to stay conscious and that the lightning-forced tight grip was enough to keep us from falling. But eventually we did reach the top, and Defiant Storm proved his rite name and took the rain from it. At that point, Krateros's ancestor spirit separated from Defiant Storm and they spoke for the first time, Garou and his ancestor. It turns out Krateros was the one who invented the Shadow Lord Gift, Rains of Mercy, and he was given the new rite name, Rain-Bringer, for that." Halle smiles over to Jake at the memory. "This is the first ancestor that Defiant Storm has been able to commune with. So to those who aided our trip, we thank you for having given Defiant Storm that connection to his past." Halle smiles over to the Elder again. "After that... Helios rose, not in East nor West, but in the North. Just a sliver of Him, to guide us deeper into the Realm, towards the objective He had for me."
Fidgeting softly, Dusk coyly slides his empty hand over his mouth and pinches his nose closed, giving a sideways glance in one direction, and then the other, before his attention returns to the recanting of the story, lips parting as he tries not to become too noticable a mouth breather. Leaning forward, Dusk looks questioningly at Forst, and then around again.
Frost glances at Dusk, one of her eyes scrunching a little bit in return. She nods slowly, just a slight bob of her head then lifts her soda for a drink. There's a soft cough that slips out, a bit of sound from her for the first time, but then she's focusing on the story again.
Like the Wind has been here, just hanging around, watching quietly, mostly invisible, though not really, for most of the time. She wanders over toward Dragomir and Iris quietly, sort of just.. melding out of the background just behind Dragomir's shoulder.
Pulling up in his car, Dre gets out of his car and walks over to where everyone is gathered, he lets out a yawn. Covering his mouth as he walks over to where the group is, "Hello everyone." he says simply as he looks around at everyone.
Iris applauds again, turning and leaning a bit so that she can aim it towards Jake then and "WoooooOO! YEAH!" at him for his accomplishments and endeavors. She's a bit biased though, total Realm nerd, so she finds the whole thing extra awesome.
Jake's expression is rather unreadable through most of Halle's tale but he does smile back at her then turns to address the crowd. "Yes, thank you all for helping me find that connection. I have no family and...meeting an actual ancestor was an experience that I never thought I would have. It couldn't have been possible without your help, plus you helped me to free an entire Sept of tyranny and hopelessness. You are, in my book, all heroes." He offers a nod to Dre. "Evening. Help yourself to the food and join us." He smiles again at Halle and joins in with the applause.
Bjorn looks to Dragomir and watches the man as women flock around him. He just shrugs as he turns back to Halle to listen to her. When Jake speaks he makes his way over to the man. "I am thinking about constructing weapons for the sept. I know I can make good weapons." He says to Jake as he watches and waits for the man's response.
Halle paces before the fire a few steps as she recounts the trip.
"The Wyrm grew frustrated, and finally turned and left Weaver and Wyld, and attacked Gaia. She fought back, and it was going to be a long fight. But it was clear to see she would lose in the end, she could not face the full might of the Wyrm. I found myself beside their battle, while Defiant Storm watched from above," Halle says. She shakes her head. "I was... less than a mosquito against the Great Serpent of Destruction. All I could do was hope to distract him by talking. So I commented on what he was doing, and his fight. And praised the Wyrm's power. And... I wish even the memory of the Wyrm's voice could be forgotten," Halle says with a shudder. "His desire to destroy, destroy EVERYTHING could be felt in his voice, not just his words. So I tried to fan hid desire to destroy /all/ even higher. I mentioned it looked like he would indeed destroy Gaia, but it would take so long, as she was fighting back well. THen I drew his attention to the sky. To where Weaver and Wyld had run amok without the Wyrm destroying what they wrought. I told the Wyrm, by the time he finally finished with Gaia, he'd be so far behind he'd never catch up with them. And I turned and walked away, saying it wasn't his fault, even as great as the Wyrm was, even he couldn't be three places at once."
Heidi leans her slim, sun-bronzed shoulder up against one of the wooden beams holding up the sprawling, expansive kinfolk house porch roof. She locates a battered pack of cigarettes and slips one between her lips, though at the last moment, notices the nearby sign reprimanding such behavior. She knits her brow, and somehow resists the urge to not light it. She's distracted however, by the continuing recital, and she'll be quite content to listen in silence.
Brooke has been listening closely, and takes a seat near her pack.
Jake smiles at Bjorn. "We would welcome any weapon you can make. Thank you. Why don't you stop by the Forge tomorrow and we will discuss it." His attention then snaps back to Halle, completely engrossed in her story, even though he was there.
Brooke sits down at Around the Fire Pit.
Frost sits down at Around the Fire Pit. Halona sits down at Around the Fire Pit. Howling-Wind sits down at Around the Fire Pit. Dusk sits down at Around the Fire Pit.
Dragomir is a pack Alpha, and Garou. By nature, it draws those of his pack and kinfolk to him. There is an affinity connection with many of those here. He's shared blood with so many of them, stories, wounds, truths and pain. They each know he would die for them in a moment. This is Terminal Velocity's way - they are rarely far from each other, they are a Pack. Dragomir on the other hand, isn't making sexy eyes with Bjorn, and isn't watching Viator's platter-flipping antics anymore either - his gaze is on Halle at the story of the Great White Wolf, because this is a tale he does not know, and a story he wishes to remember. A glance is given towards Bjorn and Jake when words are spoken during the story, but his attention returns to Halle once more with eager interest in her continuing. The man reaches his hand back and brushes Halona's arm, recognition that she's near.
Dre nods to Jake and walks over to grab some food, smirking a bit as he hears the stories being told. Walking over to where Heidi is, he smiles and bumps her. "Been a while." he says to her. Dre inhales his food, damn it he's hungry and well it shows, still he isn't looking full either.
Halle takes a deep breath and says, "And the Wyrm replied it could be everything, could destroy everything. And it changed. From a single great serpent into a three-headed hydra. And then the heads pulled apart into nearly separate spirits. I recognized one, Beast-of-War, which then went after the Wyld, senseless destruction to counter creation. Another, Eater-of-Souls, Wyrm of Consumption. Greed, lust and gluttony, a counterpoint to the Weaver's desire to unify. And finally, the Defiler Wyrm stayed to fight Gaia. Not enough to consume her whole as was going to happen when Gaia faced the entirety of the wyrm. The Defiler Wyrm attacked, trying to corrupt Gaia. But split in three, not strong enough to kill any of them. At least, not for the longest time, we can hope," Halle says.
She gives a sudden shudder. "The Defiler Wyrm struck me down, probably in anger for having witnessed his failed attempt. I was dying until Jake came to me." She looks over to Jake, smiling and looking a bit emotional. "It's called Mother's Touch for a reason. Gaia herself aided his healing, else I'd have died in the Legendary Realm. And, She held my body, and she whispered secrets to me. I would share them with you if it was something it was possible for me to say. It... she is...." Halle says, voice falling away as she completely fails to find words. "Well, I hope everyone here one day has a chance to feel that. I believe that's what Helios wanted me to experience, why he sent me there. And it wouldn't have been possible without the help of your packs and our friends from the Bastet," Halle says, looking at each of those the pig roast is in honor of.
"Jake and I wanted to express our gratitude with more than words. I've brought some Sanctified plant spirits. Ginsent plants that I awoke their spirits, and that will lend healing. Much like a Gaia's Breath talen. Please take these with our deepest thanks, and warmest wishes," Halle says. She goes and gets the plants and passes one to each of those present who helped with the trip.
Brooke claps for Halle's storytelling, and will remember this tale to the best of her abilities. She will gladly await the plant, and be sure to take good care of it. "Thank you, Halle. That is quite kind of you."
Bjorn nods as he watches Jake and begins to head back to sit with Dragomir. He then looks to the people present and watches the man. "You been here a while?" He asks of dragomir as he watches and waits for a response from the man. "I am Bjorn. I am one of the Gurahl." He says as he studies the man. "What tribe are you with?"
Heidi waits until the others have begun to applaud, before she politely adds her own to the mix, seeming impressed by it all. She flashes a laconic smile at Dre when he has the wolfy audacity to bump her, though she has the porch's wooden beam for support to lean back against. She seems a tiny bit amused by the way that the Shadow Lord begins to devour his meal, "It was a very moving story. You missed the best part, when the corrupt sept leader got decapitated. I bet you'll never guess what his tribe was."
The end of the quest in the second perspective, Dusk puts down his diet pepsi can and applaudes once. "Wow, very good," he says sounding nasally, but murmurs, "Hm. But reminds me I ought to see someone about dedicating some clothes." Picking up his can again, he doesn't so much stand up, as bolt up and put several footsteps between him and from where he had been sitting before he takes a deep breath of fresh air, eventually thanking Halle once again, upon receiving this plant, with a look of unsureness. "I think one of the best things about that story was Garou and the Fera working together," Dusk says, looking over at Viator.
Halle passes one of the ginseng plants to Brooke. "Thank you, without all of your help, we'd have been hard-pressed to even make it there." She moves on to Dragomir, and to Viator, Halona, Iris and Sergei. She has a few more for the others at the BaneBridge who aren't here at the moment, too. Halle goes over to Jake and gives him a big hug. "Thank you for going with me, Jake. And I'm sorry it kept you away from Giselle for so long." Halle's cheeks blush a little bit. "Though Kevin seemed to enjoy my enthusiasm at finally seeing him again after so long." Halle smiles over to Dusk. "Yes, should you ever have to go to the Umbra... which I don't recommend without a Garou or the like present... but, it's still nice to know you could escape a bad guy's cell and come back and not be naked."
Frost watches Dusk head for the hills, so to speak, her lips pinching to try and hide the smile. Since the story is done, she picks up her notebook, opening it again to a particular page before holding it out for Iris, showing her what's written there.
Dragomir stands and applauds Halle's telling of the story and nods proudly, "May the Ancestors roar your praises Defiant Storm-rhya and Halle-kin!" the man offers in his deep Russian accented voice and slams his hands together firmly. He reaches out and grasps Howling-wind's back fur and says, "It was Howling Wind'yuf who ensured our victory that night. He led the battle, and called our withdrawl. His tactics saved lives - we are proud to have him. May he lead us with great wisdom again in our next battle!" he growls with pride. Then he turns to look towards Bjorn and nods his head, "Greetings Bjorn of the Gurahl. I am Dragomir Mihailovich, known as Eye of the Storm. Adren Silver Fang born on two legs beneath the Judge's moon. Son of Nicholas Mihailovich, son of Michael Mihailovich - known as Frozen Night, son of Nicholas Mikhailovich II, son of Michael Mikhailovich - known as Falcon's Beak, son of Nicholas Mikhailovich - known The Frozen Death, son of Michael Nocolavich, son of Nicholas I, Hero remembered as Zheleznaya Gora," he offers with pride.
Yes, the Bastet who is about to possibly cause a food disaster see how that works? Dusk looks over in time to see him slowly digging claw tips in against a platter, trying to discreetly drag it off the table for easy access. A look right, a look left and he tips it just enough over the side for a piece to begin falling out, which he brazenly catches in his maw, chewing through it quickly, with out many problems. Wait, a Ginseng seed? Viator looks -helplessly- at the plant. Tiger form is not condusive to carrying things! It's like Halle wants him to be human form! What is this!? Help!
Howling-Wind gets up to all four feet when his Alpha stands, nodding his head in a wolfy bow at the recognition >>For Merlin and For Gaia.<< When Dragomir turns to Bjorn Howling-Wind turns as well, watching the stranger closely.
Brooke stands with her Alpha, as he introduces himself to Bjorn, one she has not met either. She holds her plant in one hand, the other on her small belly.
Again with the applause and whistles! Iris'd do great at a basketball game with her sweet whistle skills, although usually it's impolite to howl at ball games. But not here, and so she does! In homid though. She stands and gives Halle a hug of course, "Oh no problem, it was a fun battle!" Cause you know, getting burned to a crisp is 'fun'. Totally is. While Halle's making the rounds, she's confronted with Frost. And a notebook! Reading, she says, "Oh hi, er, HI THERE." It's like how when some people are talking to a foreign person, they think talking louder makes them easier to understand. Or like, OH YOU MUST BE DEAF, LET ME YELL THEN AND SOMEHOW THAT WILL HELP, or something. So, you know when she says, "I'm Iris!" she does so really loudly. There might be more, but first she waits to see how Deafy McNotebook does with that.
"So it is you who has descended from the hero of the war of rage." Bjorn says, before nodding his head. "I am Bjorn Bear hammer. Known as Bearhammer in yourtongue. Verde. I am in the kieh aspect of my life and I am afraid I dont have a strong pedigree as you. I was raised during the dark ages by Get of Fenris who worshipped bear. They protected my ancestors during the slaughter you call the war of rage." He says as he looks to the man. "Silver Fang. So it was your ancestors who tried to rip the secrets of my breed from us." He says softly. Jake hugs Halle back and smiles at her. "It was my pleasure. Thank you for all your help and wisdom too. Couldn't have done it without you. And that was an incredible recounting. It almost sounded like you were talking about someone else." He then addresses the others. "And once again, thank you all for your help and support. Please continue to enjoy yourselves tonight, eat and drink as much as you can hold and keep on getting acquainted with those you don't know yet." He then heads over to get himself another beer.
"Oh yeah, don't worry," Dusk holds out both hands to Halle, defensively, just enjoying the air that doesn't smell like animal musk. "I've already told another Kin that can do it when it's best not to, unless it's an emergency. And he and I got to talking and I realized that if I had, uh, my arrival would be a little," he smiles, "revealing." He glances towards Iris and Frost while they, sure let's call it converse, and smiles. Some, and then the smile widens. As Halle gets more popular, Dusk slips away to dispose of his soda can and walk up the porch steps in favor of the swing.
Dusk stands and leaves Around the Fire Pit. Dusk sits down at Porch Swing.
Frost blinks a couple times, her hand coming up to cover her mouth lightly. Her shoulders move with laughter though no sound comes out and she starts to shake her head a little. Her head ducks as she grins, writing more on the paper before turning it back around again for Iris to read.
Jake has left.
Halle returns the hug to Iris. "Thank you so much for your help. Also, I heard the cleansing talen you made went off. Sounds like the tainted cop thing is all wrapped up now, great job on that." As Iris turns to Frost, Halle goes over to Viator. "I can hang on to your ginseng until you have some hands for it," she tells him with a grin. She reaches down and ruffles the fur on the back of his neck before turning to Jake. She hugs him back tight. "You know, I was thinking. I wonder if the reason Garou can sense pure bloodlines on me, but can't really identify them clearly... maybe Helios connected me somehow with the Great White Wolf? That might explain why I didn't really fit in, in Macedonia, but was able to relive the wolf's deeds?"

Dragomir consider Bjorn and nods his head at the mention of his descending. "Greetings Bjorn Bearhammer. I have heard tales of the Get of Fenris and their dealings during the Wars. The Iron Mountain tells many tales of their prowess and the glory of their battles. I was not present at the Wars, but I have many tales been told to me. I know of tales of lies and deception, of cowardice. I know tales of those who stood not only aside from the War against the Wyrm, but actively tried to prevent the Garou from equalizing the balance. I have heard atrocities on many fronts, in many tongues, and scrawled in many books. I now walk the steps of my honorable ancestor, who fought bravely in those battles as he has many times in defense of the Sept of the Enduring Spirit, and for Bear himself."
Iris reads, and then says, "...Oh." with a sort of sheepish 'I totally knew that' expression on her face. She eyes Frost a little bit though, there's obviously some pretty hefty internal debate though on here, but eventually she puts on a nice, big smile and says, "Okay well, cool, nice to meet you, ah.. Fury.. kin.. Frost. Um. I'm Iris Aello Ocypete Tiganites, rite named Mercy's Messenger, born two legged under the crescent moon to the Black Fury, Adren by rank and a member of Terminal Velocity under Dragomir Eye of the Storm. Nice t'meetcha."
Viator is glad Halle immediately realized the problem of his form, but when she decides to pet him? He lets out a deep rumbling purr of approval, Halle is allowed to pet the Tiger, even if she isn't overly trying to feed him and is expecting him to not flip a table or some thing when filching food. Which he is good at doing. He'll also begin to follow her, it's entirely logical to do this right? Since -Pancake- is being a boring person!
Frost notes Iris' hesitation, turning her notebook back. She writes something else down, her expression more somber now, but she doesn't hesitate in telling the Fury whatever it is that she's passing along. She does take a long swig of soda before doing so though.
"I have no hatred for you or your tribe. In the stories the get told, the silver fangs were honorable. I do not believe your ancestor acted dishonorably. It was war and I understand that atrocities happened on both sides, both Gurahl and Garou. No the tribe I dislike are the shadow lords. Their pack slaughtered an entire village of farmers simply because they believed it would bring the bear which blessed them out of hiding. I slaughtered them. And then I slept until I awoke in this age." He says calmly to the silver fang. "I am a blacksmith of great skill. Should you desire a fetish or weapon, I would be glad to offer my services to you." He says sincerely to the wolf.
Iris reads some more, and apparently used up her entire stockpile of formality, as she instead goes with, "That sucks, dude." while handing back the notebook. She's still hung up in some awkward hesitation net there, but um.. ummm... Oh look, a distraction. She points off towards the horse that's steadily mowing a chaotic path of munching through the grass and weeds. "That's M'lady." Another look around, and she points at Dragomir's back, "That's m'alpha, Dragomir. And um. .. That's a big ridiculous cat. Did you know you can get your entire fist in his big ridiculous mouth? Cause you can. And you can just *see* how bad he wants to just bite it the fuck off, but he can't cause it'd be a terrible bad thing to do." She is totally condoning such action as she points out Viator.
Rory has arrived.
Gavan has arrived.
Sander has arrived.
Howling-Wind settles back on his haunches to watch his Alpha and the Bearman 'talk', his nostrils flare as he commits the stranger's scent to memory.
Idly swinging on the porch swing, Dusk tucks his right leg flat on the swing seat. His arms wrap around his leg, chin on knee while he watches the remaining goings on. His gaze flirts from cluster to cluster, his expression going flat with the discussion between Dragomir and Bjorn, and then Iris and Frost, before returning to Dragomir. Brows knot softly before Dusk smirks with disapproval.
Halle sees the tiger is following her, and reaches down to scritch him again. "Did you get enough of the roasted boar?" Halle asks Viator. "There's also hamburgers if you like beef more," she tells him. The young woman's eyes go over to Bjorn and the conversation he's having.
There is a bonfire going and lots of food is set out on tables. THe drink has been flowing and the kin with instruments have taken up playing again. Brooke steps closer to her Alpha, keeping watch between him and Bjorn.
Frost smiles warmly at Iris, nodding she starts pointing animals and people out. She laughs, well her shoulders move, and as the Fury talks about the tiger she reaches to tear the pages out of the notebook that she's writen on, folding them in half before walking over to feed them to the fire.
Dragomir laughs and offers, "I will not vouch for the Shadow Lords, except for one." He motions back, in the direction that Jake went and says, "Elder Defiant Storm is a pure and honorable Garou, selfless and noble beyond measure. He walks as the Shadow Lords were meant, and serves with integrity for the good of the Garou Nation. I would follow his lead in any battle, and place myself and my pack against any foe if asked of us." As probably evident with the tone of the party. He motions his hand towards Bjorn and says, "Sit, eat with us BearHammer.. We are grateful for the presence of the Gurahl here. I thank you for your offer of skill, I will certainly keep this in mind in the future." He looks back towards Iris and Frost and nods, "Good, you two are working.. Mercy's Messenger, can you ensure she get to meet with Howls-at-High-Moon when you have the chance?" Then a look over towards Dusk and he asks, "How have you been Dusk? No more crazy parties I hope."
Viator gives a feline grin at Pancake's words..except it seems to imply entirely, he might bite certain hands clean off, but then he is petted more, pettings is good. He chuffs quietly at Halle's concern about him eating...it's suspiciously like laughter. Then he sits beside Halle, watching as she does; the potentional fireworks, tail thumping back and forth, likely making a hazard zone behind him. Chairs fear for their ability to not be knocked over!
Robert has arrived.
Rory arrives oh so late. At least it feels that way, since the party is well into full swing and little knots of friends have formed. But he shows up and presses through groups of people. Because there is booze in them there refrigation and he means to get at it.
Starlight Eyes ran. If he walked, the party would be over. It's a big forest after all. Finally, his weary four paws press their way into view of the party. Some days, he's envious of cars. Then he remembers their noxious smell and he feels better about running here. As he nears, he rises up on two feet and becomes a man. Ahh the concessions one makes for the Nation. He takes a deep breath then hey.. Rory is arriving late, too. "Evening." He offers the Fianna with a wave.
"Aye, I agree. Elder Defiant Storm is an honorable man. He has proven his worth numerous times and was one of the few to help me when I was confused by this age. I believe he will lead the garou to the role they were meant to be, as Gaia's Champions." Bjorn says as he moves to get comfortable and sits with Dragomir and his company. "I thank you for your kindness. The Garou and the Gurahl do not see eye to eye often. I grew up with the get of fenris and they always acted with honor and distinction." He says calmly.
Looking up from the porch, Dusk looks back at Dragomir, his frown turning into inquisitiveness. "Crazy parties? No, I haven't had any other stalkers drug and kidnap me, if that's what you mean." The reply is quick, and his tone bitter. "But I've never thrown a party in my life," he adds, his cadene returning to normal. He looks up, and waves the hand not holding his leg around to indicate what's going on here, "Just gone to them."
Paul has arrived.
Halona has connected.
Dragomir's expression contorts slightly - like .. he has gas? Maybe something he ate, was the pork not fully cooked? He turns his head to look towards Iris like she's well.. the source of his constipation. "Forgive me.." and he begins to slowly stand up now. His eyes go around, studying the perimeter with some fascination or paranoia before he looks down towards Frost and says, "Please stand up and come inside with me." His tone and demeanor has changed, his entire manner has. There's no anger there, but that just seems odd too for some reason.
Frost looks over at Dusk, her expression concerned as he talks, starting to turn towards his direction to head over. Then Dragomir is speaking to her and she stops, looking quite the deer in headlights. But she nods, picking up her backpack as she turns to follow after him, tucking her notebook under her arm.
Brooke looks over Dragomir, obviously checking on her alpha. Her eyebrows raised as she listens to him.
Sander goes home.
Halle glances up at the new arrivals. "Plenty of food and drinks. Help yourselves," she says. "We already told some tales but if anyone has any they'd like to share, I'm sure we'd be an eager audience." Halle fills up a glass of lemonade for herself. She sits on the tiger's shoulder, free hand going back to start ruffling again. "I've been hoping to run into the fox again," Halle says to Viator. "Didn't really get a chance to talk with her after we took care of the island..."
Robert comes walking into the clearing, walking stick in hand, making plenty of noise. Not the clumsy 'I don't know my way around' noise, but the 'I'm not sneaking up on a clearning full of predators' noise.
Howling-Wind stands and moves to follow his alpha, like he always does.
Halona does likewise, taking up station next to Howling-Wind
Dragomir nods his head towards Halle and says, "Thank you for the honor of this party Halle.. There is matters I must attend to now." He reaches down his hand to help Frost stand and starts to escort her towards the inside of the Kinfolk House.
Dusk lowers his head, instead of his chin, his lips kiss the knee he has up on the swing seat he's occupying. As exhale of exhaustion passes through flared nostrils, and Frost's path takes her past him anyways. Though when he speaks it's concern for her. "Don't worry," Dusk lifts his head to say, brows uplifted, "You'll be just fine." A smile is forced on his lips.
Viator's purring is likely easily felt through his body, and he can -easily- support some one effectively sitting on him, that doesn't seem to bother him. He just makes sure his Perch is safe, it is his, but Dragomir being cranky makes him watch. He seems more amused by it then any thing else. Claws slowly kneading below him, like he's trying to remember some thing. Fox, fox was good!
Frost doesn't seem to think so from the look she gives Dusk in passing, looking very uncertain as she's guided into the house. She takes a deep breath, letting it out slowly before heading inside.
Iris, meanwhile, chooses to chill outside and go snag some pork when Frost heads off with Dragomir. Roasted pig! On her way she hops over the tiger's tail. Although, that's probably what's stopping Viator from being able to bounce on it like Tigger. It has to be stepped on for that to work.
Paul moves easily through the woods and into clearing with Robert. He gives a grin to those gathered at the porch as the light falls on him fully. "Evenin' folks, sure smells good around here!"
The hopping of a tiger's tail draws a look from Gavan then he identifies Iris in the throng. That she's headed for the food table is all the impetus he needs to intercept the theurge. "Hey there." He smiles. "How's things? Had a chance to talk to Shaderunner-rhya?"
The party isn't over by Gavan's arrival. Their appearance coincide and he lifts a bottle of beer toward the man. "Good evening, friend. Come to visit the party? Want a beer?" Its phrased as a question, but Rory just snags another bottle to pass one off to Gavan. "Been staying busy?"
Frost moves to Kinfolk House - Greatroom and Kitchen Frost has left.

Brooke waves to Paul and Robert. "Hey guys!" She walks away from the fire pit and goes to check out the food with Iris.
Halle nods to Dragomir. "Thanks again for your pack's help," she tells the Silver Fang. Halle looks back over to the new arrivals. "Hello Gavan," she offers to the man with a wave. "All sorts of beverages, help yourself," she says. Halle glances back down to Viator. "I need to get Alexander his ginseng plant too. Been meaning to try to catch up with he and Antonio for awhile now."
Iris, caught in a little but of thought, is startled by Gavan and defensively... thrusts pork at him! EAT THIS, ATTACKER! Oh, wait, it's Gavan, not doom. "Nope, haven't yet. Things got a little weird and hectic, but I swear I'm gonna! I have at least put some time into component collecting. Cant be too careful when it comes to offerings an chiminage, you know? Besides, I like the exercise."
Viator realizes there is a -distinct- possibility Halle alone might understand him here..so he'll grumblekitten, like it some how slightly offends him she seemingly understands. "I can get it to him if you wish, or inform him or others where it is." So annoyed he is understood, see? But when Pancake is hopping over his tail, he tries to time it so she ends up smacked by it on the flank. What, who did that?
Robert looks around with a grin, nudging Paul. "Told younwe could have flown in." before joinging the group getting food. "Hey Brooke, looks like we managed to make it before the food disappeared."
Oh hey! Pork and Beer! This is win win! Gavan catches the tossed bottle and uses a nearby table to pop the cap off then has pork shoved in his face.. which.. he promptly snatches from her outstretched hand with his teeth. It makes talking interesting so he grabs what's hanging out and tears it free. Stupid human mouths are too small. Chew chew chew swallow. "Hey, if you need help just say the word. You're doing this for me, remember." Then he looks to Rory with a lift of the bottle in thanks. "A true Fianna." He takes a swig then nods. "A bit. Been doing Eye of the Storm-rhya a favor, begging Mercy's Messenger-rhya for a favor, running.. here.. from the city. Because naturally, I had unpaid parking tickets and now Lowry is getting my car out impound." He shrugs. "You?"
Dusk watches Frost walk in, then turns his head back forward to watch the goings on from the porch. Mood sober, certainly, moss green eyes look around from the porch silently, lips resting on his knee.
Halle smiles to Viator. "Thank you, I'd appreciate that," she tells the tiger. "Think I have Antonio's number, he was going to show me a book, but don't know that I have one for Alexander." Halle gives a soft sight and sips her lemonade as she watches the rest of the Sept interacting. "I missed everyone so much," she says, and momentarily her eyes get a little misty. "I've never really had friends before all of this. And this was my first time being away from people I cared about. And... well, it was a loooong time."
Paul grins over at Brooke, "Hey, Miss Brooke! Sure good to see you." He hears Viator, and nods his head to him. "Good to see you too, Sir."
Iris just sort of stares at Gavan for a minute, and completely falls for it. "...You have a car?" WHY she doesn't disbelieve this outright is anyone's guess. Maybe she's just imagining Gavan riding a motorcycle in lupus again.
Viator is listening, still purring away as Halle speaks, cats do tend to purr alot, especially when pet and encouraging potentional worshippers! "I can have Clarisse bring them with her when she works and at the least, I can make sure Philippe gets them, or Alexander can swing by my home, I'm sure he isn't adversed to having a few beers on the beach." Like, who is right? "I am shocked no one got belligerent." He says to her.
There's a moment when Gavan tracks back to Iris in slow motion as she guffaws at his having a car. "Yeah?" Like.. he thought this was normal for people. Isn't it? "My elders thought it was a good idea. Blend in. That sort of thing. It's a little rusty but its a convertible so at least I get the wind in my face. I hate traffic though. Sucking exhaust is the worst. If I was blessed with more fury.. I'm sure there'd have been a rage incident reported already." He twitches once then takes another pull from his beer.

Robert piles some pig onto a plate as he listens around. "The problem with convertables... sometimes too much air."
Paul heads over toward the food, and glances to Viator, "Who'dya think would do that?" Gets to Brooke, and asks her, his eyes going to her mid section, "How you feeling Miss Brooke?"
Halle ruffles her fingers through the fur along the backs of the tiger's ears. "Well, it's a party, hopefully everyone was in a good mood for it," she tells him. "Though I also took some precautions, with the moon as it is," Halle says, glancing upwards for a moment. "Are your people affected by Luna's phase as Garou are?" she asks curiously.
Iris stares at Gavan some more. "Like... You *really* have a car?" Okay maybe she *does* disbelieve it. Damned Ragabash and their wiely ways! She points over near the side of the kinfolk house where a half feral white horse is chewing crop circles into the grass and weeds, "That's my car. She haaaaaates it when I put gas in her. For some reason. But I'm like, you're a stylin Mustang, and everyone knows they're gas guzzlers. And then she kicks me and I cry and.. I mean, beats traffic, at any rate."
Brooke rubs her belly a little bit in a particular spot, as she answers Paul. "I'm doing well. Chase on the other hand, is starting to get active and I wonder just how much he's going to end up punching and pushy on my insides before he is born. All in all though, things could not be going better."
Viator blinks a few times when asked, nope! Secrecy must be maintained, Paul is providing distraction! "Let us consider the myriad reasons. Moon phases..Garou and various others in one area." He's holding up one paw, ticking off points by letting his claws unsheath even, such a human gesture from..a tiger. "Though I suspect Miss Halle, your precautions vastly help the situation, as does the very fact many are around their more vunerable Kinfolk." He truly isn't..well. Paul isn't exactly Kinfolk to him, not in any immediate way. "It is a shame Clarisse was not here, she'd likely have hugged you half to death for all this work Halle." She isn't finding out a thing about Bastet from him, that much is clear!
"Yeah well.. my mustang does take gas.. and.. it doesn't kick me.." Gavan really isn't sure where this conversation is going though he is a trifle surprised to see a horse near so many predators. "I'm sorry.. why are we talking about cars again?" He tears his gaze from the chewing horse and looks back to Iris.
Yeah the horse, like, don't even give a fuck about all them shifters. It's totally chill.
Iris blurts out (talking with her mouth full and everything because it's that important) "Because you're a lupus and not a Glasswalker and it's *weird*!" Not in a bad way though, apparently, just in one of those totally unexpected sorts of ways. She moves aside and has a seat. On Viator. It's like a vibrating couch.
Halle says to the tiger, "Quite possibly," as if she were engaged in a conversation with him or something. "I don't recall if I've met her. Or, maybe I saw her at Sunhome that one night? I'll probably recognize her when I see her if so. She's one of your kin I gather? Are you getting married in the mortal way as well?"
Gavan goes about chewing the pork that was unceremoniously stuffed into his mouth then gives a nod and a shrug to Iris. "Yeah? And? I mean.. I hate it don't get me wrong but when an elder says 'hey you need a car, here'. You don't say no. You say thank you. Even if every other part of your body says.. no.. gaia no.. anything but that.. sure.. I'll have to run a solid thousand miles to get from Seattle to Prospect but I'd rather run it than drive it.. but.. okay! You're the boss!" He gives a thumb up with his free hand and a big smile.
Lifting his head, Dusk passes his hand a few times, like swatting away Sergei's bad stink. Watching the party goers still going on for a moment, he nods his head upwards, and calls out, "Hey, Viator." dusk pauses for a lull in Viator's conversation, before continuing, "Is River Salama one of yours? I thought I remembered seeing her at your beach party." Since they're on the topic.
Robert gives the Gavan the Driving Lupus a smirk. "Well, he could load you on a plane. Boxed in with a hundred edgy, agitated, miserable people."
Viator looks directly up at Halle when she asks -that-. "I..only proposed a few days ago. That ring at the Auction for the Fallen Law Men and all, I had acquired it through one of my proxies. I presented it to her, we have yet to discuss plans in depth. She is also able to show her superior breeding and origins over the commoners." He says, gesturing that paw at...you guessed it. All the Garou.
"Am I a commoner?" Bjorn asks the cat as he watches the various people. He walks over to Gavan and nods. "Glad to see more garou. Hopefully you will refrain from killing me and my kind this time, eh?" He asks curiously before looking around.
Paul nods at Halle, "That's real good, got somethin' like that out at Sunhome. It can help with the Moon for sure, but best thing is showing respect, and knowing when to get out of the way. This house has always been pretty laid back, it's a nice place. Especially for a party, and this one sure has a good cause. I missed congratulating Mr Dragomir, but I can at least say it to Miss Brooke." He glances back over at Viator, his brows arching a moment, but he doesn't make a response to the Tiger. Instead he loads his plate with various veggies.
From her perch sitting on Viator, Iris leans forward and asks Gavan way, way too seriously, "Is it true that lupus drivers drive with their heads sticking out the window? I mean, *I* didn't say it, but that's what I heard." She makes a face though and says, "Ugh. Planes. Sucks people can't just fly." She takes the tattooed wings on her back way too seriously. She also totally accidentally completely not at all on purpose flings a piece of meat on Viator's head. Whoops! Commoner mistake. Mah bad, bah.
Bjorn watches the various people. He walks over to Gavan and nods. "Glad to see more garou. Hopefully you will refrain from killing me and my kind this time, eh?" He asks curiously before looking around.
Gavan doesn't know who this Robert fellow is but he looks over at the comment of a plane. And shivers. "No. There is no way you're getting me on a plane." Only wait. Wasn't Lowry talking about a flight... His eyes trail off looking into nothingness for a moment before he twitches himself back to the now. "Yes. Car. Old one. Hate it." Then Iris is stared at. "Convertible?" Like, she missed this critical point.
Halle is sitting on the tiger's shoulder, sipping her lemonade as she talks to the big cat. "You know, I get the whole... ancestral line thing. But at the same time... it's something I'd never have thought of as being important," she says. "I couldn't tell you anything about my parents. Not that, I mean, we weren't sentient in the way I am now, but, you know what I mean, I imagine. I guess maybe it helps keep people focused on doing Gaia's will or something, to keep track of such things? Also seems like it leads to problems though as people hold others accountable for things someone from the past did."
Halle nods in agreement with Paul. "I agree, respect is the best thing, fullish moon or no. Good to see you again too, Paul," she says. "DId you get some of the pork?"
Branton has arrived.
Viator is suspiciously quiet now when ancestry comes up, but there is pork, Pancake might be boinking it off his head, but he'll entirely grab it with his muzzle any how, he is being fed to let women folk lounge on him; this is not a bad life. "I believe, like the Garou, even for us, purity of blood is important for those we produce. Though, I do not truly concern my self with all of that either. I am of pure blood and ancient lines, Clarisse is not, yet I willingly marry her." He leaves out that she will die, and he will remain forever as he is. Then..his Tail comes up to begin thwapping about Pancake, clearly she must provide more morsels to the Tiger.
Bjorn has disconnected.
Iris glances at Bjorn at his random and frankly pretty antagonistic comment out of nowhere, and declines to comment, turning her attention back to rescuing her meat piece from Viator's head. Unless the bastard cat gets it first. No really, it was totally on accident, I swear! "Gah, damn it." She's currently sitting on Viator and eating a plate of piggeh. Or.. something. Just like, whatever there was that used to be living and is now delicious. Talking to Gavan, she says, "Okay, okay yeah, I mean I guess if it's a convertible then it's basically all open window at that point. SON OF A-!" And then she's being beaten with a tail, which WILL be caught, god damn it! And then probably bitten.
Halona comes in from Kinfolk House - Greatroom and Kitchen Halona has arrived.
Halona heads out from in and slips into her lupus form and takes off toward the forest without so much as a word. Damn lupus Halona goes home. Halona has left.
Paul looks back to Brooke, munching on a raw carrot, "Chase huh? So, you gonna have a little boy? That's really great. I bet Michael's all proud his first born's gonna be a boy. And I guess we missed any speeches 'n such about your pack. This party is a great idea though, congratulations. Hope you let the others know from us, we were proud working with you the times we did."
Robert watches Halona bail, and then looks back to the house. "Well, I'm sure if Michael is flying you guys, it'll be a much more pleasant experience. But I do understand the desire to maintain one's own methods of travel."
Continuing to observe Viator for a while, Dusk throws up his hands as his question goes unanswered, smirking and rolling his eyes. The off the cuff remark from Bjorn doesn't escape Dusk's notice either, his brows wrinkling with soft amusement. Sinking back to the swing, Dusk kicks off again, swinging gently.
Brooke smiles, "Yes, a little boy. Michael would be happy with either, but yes, he is quite proud. I did give a story about our battle for everyone here, and then Halle told the next part. It has been a great evening for stories."
Branton comes driving up to the parking area and hops out of his truck, ambling his way over to where Iris wound up.
Paul shudders slightly at the talk of planes, "I hate planes. Love to fly, but hate planes." He notices Dusk then, and waves to him. "Hey, how's it going?" Iris is distracted! Excellent. Gavan takes that moment to slip into the crowd and ninja vanish like ragabash are known to do.
Halle grins over at Paul. "Me too. I don't relish the thought of a plane hitting me, you know?" She takes a sip of her lemonade and then pats the tiger before getting up and going over to the food table. She gets a small piece of pork that she nibbles on, and gets a bigger one which she carries over, setting down in front of the tiger before moving over to the fire. Halle picks up a few big pieces of wood to add to the bonfire which has been burning for awhile now so could use some extra fuel.
Waving back, Dusk smiles softly and hugs his leg. He shrugs his shoulder and tips his hand back and forth indicating so-so. "How are you doing? One, two," Dusk counts Paul's eyes, "Seems like things are doing really well." The private joke, as old as it might be, still brings a genuine smile to his lips. And where there's a Paul, there's a... Dusk waves to Robert.
Viator takes his as proper observence, since -Pancake- failed him, he'll use one paw to hold the meat chunk still as he bissects and begins to eat, quite content with the situation, though with Halle no longer taking up space on him, he shifts a bit, almost curling -around- Iris or some thing, as cats will do. It's like he's deciding to do his best imitation of a slinkysnek or some thing, who knows how Bastet think. So he can look at Paul directly. "Tell Dusk that River is like you, yes? I do not whom she should belong with." Why do people expect him to be all knowing of the locals!? Gawd! "Halle, when do we go to islands to fight again?"
Robert gives Dusk a wink, and returns the wave. "Generally, we don't fly high enough to worry about planes. The damn drones on the other hand, are a menace.l
Paul looks very disappointed then at Brooke, "I /love/ stories. Maybe some time if you aren't busy you'll tell me 'n Bobby the story?" He gives her his best little boy, big brown eyes expression. The look is a bit messed up though when he grins over at Halle, then looks over at Robert. "You see? /She/ agrees with me." He smirks then at Dusk, giving him the famous Focker two fingered "Watchin' you" symbol, then chuckling. Again he looks over at Viator, but he lets Halle answer, and stuffs his mouth full of potatoes.
"Flying is the shit!" Iris says with SO MUCH GRRR! although that's entirely directed at the tail trying to whip her that she just can *not* fucking catch. UGH! Fuck you tail! She's seriously going to bite it when she gets the chance. She tells Paul, "It's a swankass story, you'll love it. And then a wild Branton appears, "Hey! Want some meat?" she offers the fellow the plate she still has in one hand.
Brooke smiles and nods her head happily to Paul. "Of course, I'd be happy to retell it to you both. In fact, I think I will practice it again with the cubs at the Caern soon. I'm working on a weekly story time with them."
Halle dusts her hands off after stoking the fire, moving over to look at the beverages before deciding to go back to her lemonade for another glass. At the question about fighting again, Halle says, "Oh, goodness. I hope not soon. I've been away from my husband for 20 years. I could use a few more days shut away with him before thinking about fighting again," she says. She moves over to recline on one of the blankets. Halle tells Paul, "I wish we'd had a Galliard along to tell the tale. I'm more of a singer than a storyteller. Brooke is much better at it."
Rory has disconnected.
Branton nods at Iris and sidles up to the plate on offer "I can always eat. I'm almost like a shifter that way. How's the party?"
Robert raises an eyebrow at the 20 years comment. "That... is a long time."
Dusk stands and leaves Porch Swing.
With a weary smile, Dusk smiles back at Paul and Robert, before watching Iris. His smile widens, never having seen a woman try so hard to get a phallic object in her mouth, nor summoning the strength to vocalize the observation. Considering how she cheated at their last battle of wits. Instead, his mouth opens and all that escapes is a soft grunt. The humor bleeding out at the mention of how long Halle's been separated from her spouse. And then Branton. Dusk takes a long inhale, and sighs it out, because being an adult is rough. Standing from the swing, Dusk walks his way towards the other man he's watching, and when he's close enough, asks Branton his own question. "Say, can I talk to you for a second?"
Brooke looks to Halle, and bows her head, "You did quite well with your storytelling, Halle. You honor me with your words, and the party here."
Paul says, "I know you're good," he smiles back at Brooke, and nods at Halle "Wouldn't mind sitting in, listening as well." When Halle doesn't answer the question, and Viator asks him to tells Dusk, "River is of the Children of Bast, like I am. She only recently learned about it though. Nothin's happening with her, has it?" Seeing Branton then brings a grin to his face, and he waves at him, another raw carrot in his hand. "Hey there, good to see you!""
Branton took the plate and is picking at some of the noms Iris had left over and he nods to Dusk "Sure. What's up?"
Dusk totally has a point, and later on Iris will realize that very thing and laugh her ass off. "Here, take meat, it's talkin' fuel." the Fury insists at Branton, and shoves a slab of pork at him with her hand. Dinner manners, bah! That's why they invented napkins!
Viator is -still- curling despite what ever Iris thinks! He's actually getting comfortable forming a cat cushion around her, listening and observing. Darn Paul, horrible translator unit, not bothering to do it! Still, no one is asking him more awkward questions either..!
Looks from Branton to Paul puzzled, "Huh? Oh, no. Evie," Dusk points to the Kinfolk House door, "and I were studying at the University stack and River came in and joined us. I was pretty sure I remembered River from that Beach party, but I wasn't sure. And I had no idea about Evie until today." Dusk smiles, "Actually pretty funny. Three of us at a table, but not knowing we share a connection." He brushes the bridge of his nose before looking at tigger and then back to Paul with concern, "About the only thing I could think that might be troubling is that she has some particularly," Dusk pauses, thinking of the right word, "... dangerous investors in her clinic. Without breaking any secrets, uh, or promises, I would advise maybe just looking into it?" he offers, brows uplifted. If that's suitable, Dusk returns his attention back to Branton, and lowers his voice.
Dusk mutters to Branton, "... seem... I... you... apology. Certain,... my... Mitzi and I.... had... was... I woke up, I... of... right away. But... cameras... towards... caught... I did... my... I... she... me no.... believing... I... Later, in... to my... told her... got... to her, my wife, myself, I got... That... happened.... just wanted you... deceive you."
Robert raises an eyebrow as Dusk gets all quiet and secretive with Branton. "River I know, Evie? Don't think I've met her yet."
Branton's EFFECTIVE SHORT_FUSE is at least 2
Iris has the warmest feet ever, shifting balance to maintain sitting ON Viator rather than being forever cat locked by a tiger. I mean, what if it got super cold? Here in... southern California. Then she'd have to use him like a tantan. Ew. She waits until his eyes are closed in contentment before stealthily attempting to shove a sliver of pork up his nostril.
Viator this time is -not- closing his eyes, there is to many unknowns..and there is Pancake, so despite her efforts, she'll find the pork intercepted and her fingers -inside- his jaws, and he delicately takes -just- the pork. He's nice? see!
Branton is pulling strips off the pork he got passed instead of Dusk's hide "Well you're not on fire so I guess we're good. I'd usually be pissed but right now my give a damn seems a little bit busted. But I imagine everyone's happier that way."
Brooke doesn't quite hear what Dusk says to Branton, but her eyebrows raise when she hears a name mentioned. She shakes her head, and looks to head out for the night.
"Damn it." Iris says when her food, which was ordained the rightful property of Viator's nose hole, NOT his mouth, gets eaten. This will not stand! Having another piece herself, she instead tries to balance a piece of pork ON his nose. Because why the heck not.
Brooke goes home. Brooke has left.
Viator will -actually- allow this, it's not like's caring, his eyes keep shifting as Brooke goes to leave, then back to the food, then at Pancake, tail thrasing behind him. THUNK..aand there goes an empty chair. Oops!
"Well, I just wanted to say I'm sorry. If I had know the truth, that's what I would have told you at the time." Dusk offers his apology and the only other thing he can, a BRAND NEW CA-- a sympathetic shrug. It appears as though the conversation is over, since he isn't charcoal, so Dusk returns his attention to Robert, "Evie, Evelyn Frost." Dusk points to the KinHouse again, "She's in there with Dragomir right now, having a talk. I guess she's a new Fury kin? I'm not really sure. I saw her around campus a few times."
