HOOKS

• Crime
  Deil is a criminal. He's known as Deil among the Cajuns. He is known as Lester among the Crips. Those who have crossed him have seen him as the Burning Man. He has affiliations with Los Cruzadoros, a Mexican drug cartel shipping marijuana, ecstasy, cocaine, heroin and people across the border. Deil was a mule for them for quite some time but nowadays he is running the local content. If you are interested in either interacting with Deil either as an antagonist or an active part of this supply chain, I'll be happy to run a scene of that nature. Deil also has a corrupt cop on his payroll. It's not much but it is a start.
• Gypsy
  Deil is a gypsy on his mother's side. A classic American mutt, his mother was an Irish pikey. She fled Ireland to escape domestic abuse and promptly relapsed when she got to America. She's dead. Deil's bitter, but has found solace in the fact that her extended family, the Gypsies, accept him. It helps that he's quick to pick up new languages.
• Music
  Deil is not known for this per se, but he does headline a band called the Unwanted. They play once a month or so at places around town like the Gardens and at dive bars.
• Fame
  Deil is famous for something he did when he was twelve in Las Vegas. Just couple hours drive away, Deil shot and killed his father when he was only twelve years old. He was tried as an adult, but the verdict of guilty was nullified by the jury on the grounds that domestic abuse created mitigating circumstances. Deil was in the news for some time, but only those with an interest in law or child abuse would have learned his name. After all, as a minor, he was entitled to keep his name anonymous. Not that reporters back in 2000 were that careful though. If you learn Deil's full name a websearch would turn up a 'where are they now' article that reveals no one knows where he is. He disappeared from his group home at age fifteen.
• Gaia
  Technically Deil is Gaian, however, his views on Gaian's are... credulous at best. It's more of an enemy of my enemy is my friend thing. The things the Wyrm has done to Deil could fill a book. A book with a lock that you will never get to read. He's a pretty private person. But you should know that appealing to him 'on behalf of Gaia' isn't going to work. He might take a swing at the Wyrm for kicks, but he is going to get something out of it, one way or another.
• Horses
  Deil loves horses. They hate him, with one exception, but he loves horses. So if you're at a loss for something to break the ice, horses will always get Deil talking.
• Sorcery
  Deil is a middling sorcerer. He's no master, nor is he an apprentice. He has a number of tricks up his sleeve, some stolen, some taught willingly. Whether or not he is willing to pass them on is questionable, but he does have enough lore to recognize a fellow practitioner. If you want to have sorcerous RP, you're going to need to prove to Deil that you aren't a loose cannon though. He takes his IC masquerade very seriously.
• The Island
  Deil was tasked with protecting the Island against his better judgment. For better or worse he checks on it every fortnight or so. Want to have a scene there? Want to discuss how he gets there without using the damn ferry? Be prepared to answer some questions either way. You might get some answers back.
• Yumboes
  Not too deep in the forest is Yumboes. This resort sized retreat specifically for fae, kinain, kinfolk and fera. Which is Deil do you ask? Maybe none, he's dating the owner. He hangs out there often these days. Getting fat and lazy.
• House of Doors
  Out in the desert there is a man made oasis of beauty and calm. This walled compound is the closest thing to home that Deil will acknowledge possessing. And he does possess it, at least half of it. Any attempt to breach the walls on either side of the umbral divide would alert Deil and Kalisha to your presence. That said, the House of Doors is a refuge for women, those who can't afford to risk a shelter because of who or what is pursuing them.
