6/9/2022 10:33:26 Mira stumbled from her cabin with bleary eyes, rubbing them and letting out a yawn before shaking herself. She looks up into the sky at the sun which was starting its journey, stretching her arms and legs of stiffness before beginning to pace rounds around the area. It seems to be a common morning ritual for her, and after she jogs for a while she can be seen doing jumping jacks and situps until a sheen of sweat coats her skin.

6/9/2022 10:39:38 Jackie pokes her head around the raised hood of her car as Mira yawns, then offers a wave after shifting a ratchet to her left hand. She goes back to tinkering with something while Mira goes about her exercise routine, eventually closing the hood with a light slam a few minutes later.

6/9/2022 10:46:01 Mira seems to be enjoying the rigorous exercise she was putting herself through, though when Jackie waves from the hood of the car she was working on Mira can't help but wander over curiously. She eyes the car appreciatively and offers the other woman a smile. "Hello, my name is Mira. It's good to see another car enthusiast, what make is she?" She is panting softly from her workout but soon she is back to breathing normally, rolling a shoulder and letting out a soft groan as it pops.

6/9/2022 10:52:34 Jackie looks up from putting the tools away into a neatly organized case, smiling widely. "Oh, hey! I'm Jackie. Are you new here? Or have I just not met you yet because I only got here a couple of weeks ago myself? Oh, and she's a Subaru Impreza. Or was originally, anyway. I've done a lot of work on it, including an electric conversion. Don't let that fool you though, she's not like a Prius. She's a race winning beast."

6/9/2022 10:57:39 Mira wipes the sweat from her brow before nodding, "You were right the first time, I only arrived here yesterday." She seems to brighten up as she hears the name. "Jackie? I was told that I would like you, I can see why now." She laughs softly before gushing over the Impreza, walking around it to get a view from all sides. "She's a beauty, I would love to hear the purr of her engine." Mira grins at Jackie excitedly, "Race? Now you're speaking my language. Once I put together a car of my own I would love to put your skills to the test."

6/9/2022 11:04:54 Jackie grins, a little sparkle lighting up in her eyes at the sound of that. "Oh, you're on, for sure! You're gonna be disappointed about the purr though, because she doesn't have one. Well, not a real one. I simulate one with the sound system to mess with people sometimes, but she's all battery and motors now. It is nice to meet another car aficionado though, it seems like bikes are the more popular thing around here. I guess it makes sense with the weather you get here, at least. So where'd you come in from?"

6/9/2022 11:09:58 Zoomies indeed! A HUGE wolf comes tearing ass out of the woods. Like this thing is fucking HUGE. GIGANTIC. Fucknormous. But here he comes, barreling down toward the creek at INCREDIBLY speed and here comes little Freya, hot on the big wolf's tail.

6/9/2022 11:13:39 Mira seems excited at the prospect of a good race, a bounce in her step as she makes her way around the vehicle once more to stand near Jackie. "Really? That's impressive." She laughs and nods, "Yeah I can see why bikes are popular around here, the weather is usually nice. I just really like sports cars, actually thinking of getting a Shelby Cobra Mustang myself, souping her up. Should be a good way to occupy my time." She starts to reply to Jackie before a noise causes her to turn and she bursts into laughter as she sees the two running toward the creek wildly. "Do they always do this," she asks with a hint of amusement.

6/9/2022 11:17:24 YOu want to see some fancy drifting? The big wolf makes it within feet of the bank of the creek, then angles slightly, skids and turns and lunges out of the way and Freya.... doesn't. She sees it JUST too late and tries to backpedal, but she goes toppling into the creek. The look on her face is very clearly O.@ of confusion and betrayal and she makes a tiny little 'yeep' sound as she goes into the water. The big wolf spins around, tongue lolling out just in time to see Freya flop in and throw water EVERYWHERE.

6/9/2022 11:21:17 Jackie watches the lupine antics with amusement, shaking her head at poor little Freya's soggy fate. "Well, often enough that I should get used to the sight, but still haven't. Oh, and once you get settled, you should check out Madd Mods sometime. It's a garage downtown, run from in the family, so to speak. I've been helping out there, and there's a few of us gearheads that spend time down there. We're actually going to be working on a new bike project there soon, you can probably get help with the mustang too."

6/9/2022 11:23:29 Fucknormous Wolf gets a little splashed, but so what, right? Poor Freya is SOAKED. Leif shifts back to his homid form and he's laughing so hard he might cry. "Every time! Every fucking time you fall for it, you stinky ass mutt," he says. Freya's... sulking.. but padding around in the water and Leif turns toward the other two. "Sorry, Ladies. She likes to roll in things and Becks won't let her in the house unless she's clean."

6/9/2022 11:29:18 Mira tries to keep a straight face to no avail, doubling over and laughing as Freya goes careening into the creek. She stand up straight once more wiping her eye of happy tears before nodding at Jackie. "I would love to check it out sometime, and I don't mind helping out around there if needed." She runs a hand across the paint of the car in front of them, admiring the way the paintjob caught in the light. As Leif speaks to them she smiles and waves, "Well I probably shouldn't have laughed but I'm sure she'll forgive me after a yummy treat as apology."

6/9/2022 11:32:45 Jackie laughs, catching some of the contagious mirth from Mira. "Yeah, probably. Food tends to soothe most pupper problems. And I take it you must have already met the big boss man here?"

6/9/2022 11:34:46 Wait, treats? Freya is suddenly DYING.. just.. DYYYYYYYYYYYING... She starts to flail around in the water and whimpers a little bit, then a little louder and she paddles and she ON PURPOSE dips her nose under the water and then lifts it up again and WAAAAAAAILS. Totally dying. Maybe dead already. Leif just.. stares at her as she does this, clearly not impressed. "Freya..." AWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO is her response. So sad. Drowning. Too young to go! WOE IS HER!

6/9/2022 11:42:14 Mira nods to Jackie, "Yep, I met him and Becks last night. It was a lovely time." She watches Freya flop around in the water, lip twitching as she tries not to laugh again. "Oh, that's right. You asked me where I came from." She seems a bit sad as she continues, "I was born in the forests of Oregon. My brother and mother were shifters but I was born without the Gift." She looks down at the ground with a grimace. "They died when I was young. Eventually their absence became too much for me and I had to move away for my own wellbeing."

6/9/2022 11:46:16 Jackie looks to Mira, her own smile fading at hearing that. "Ouch, sorry to hear that. Not the Oregon part I mean, I'm sure that was lovely. But yeah, hopefully you'll find things a bit livelier down here? I've been liking it so far myself, anyway."

6/9/2022 11:51:01 Mira shakes herself of the negative thoughts before glancing at Jackie with warm eyes, "Thank you, I try not to dwell on the past. It was a long time ago after all." She looks from Freya to Lief to Jackie, "I think being here will be good for me, it's been too long since I have been surrounded by my kin." She closes her eyes and takes a deep breath before opening them again, "And it's quiet out here. It reminds me of home."

6/9/2022 11:54:22 Leif rolls his eyes at the wolf. "You're okay. Just... stand up. You're in the shallows." Flop! Awoo!!!!! Then.. oh. Freya puts her feet down pops up out of the water a little bit, then hustles up to the edge, giving herself a good shake then wandering over to the two LADIES who aren't JERKS for pets and reassurance that she isn't dead. Leif, with his incredible hearing, hears what happened and he frowns over at Mira. "I'm sorry to hear that. Even about the Oregon thing though. That place is awful. Anything you need, we're here for you, Mira." There's a sound from one of the cabins and Leif looks that way. "Ladies, my mother's killing spiders. I'll be back." And then he turns to go.

6/9/2022 12:01:45 Mira watches the dramatic Freya with no small amount of amusement, hands on her hips as she tsk tsks. When the wolf bounds over she does indeed give her pets of reassurance, scritching behind her ears and smiling happily. She glances up a Leif as he addresses her, not appearing offended at all, "You're right, it is a pretty awful place." She looks away shyly as he continues, "I appreciate it, it's nice to feel cared about once more." She tilts her head at the noise in the cabin before chuckling and nodding, "Of course, sounds urgent." She proceeds to look for a stick she can throw for Freya as Lief takes his leave.

6/9/2022 12:02:50 Jackie chuckles at Freya, giving her an ear scritch and getting a a piece of beef jerky from her bag to sneak her a treat. "We're gonna have to keep some extra towels over here for you, aren't we?"

6/9/2022 12:08:27 Mira throws the stick for Freya to chase before stretching out and turning to Jackie. "So, do you mind if I ask.. You're a kinfolk right? Or am I mistaken?" She seems genuinely curious, not seeming to be able to pick up on the subtle differences just yet.

6/9/2022 12:11:01 Jackie nods at Mira, wiping her wet hand on her jeans. "Oh, yeah, sorry. Kinfolk of the Fenrir. No shifting or magic powers for me. Except driving, of course."

6/9/2022 12:14:13 Mira hmms and tilts her head at Jackie, "Seems like we're quite similar then. Maybe enjoying things like fast cars is just in our blood." She seems to consider this as Freya returns with the stick which she takes and launches into the sky again. "It doesn't seem like kinfolk are treated poorly here. That's a relief, I was really worried at first."

6/9/2022 12:18:46 Jackie follows the arc of the stick with her eyes, then keeps staring in that direction in contemplation of that subject. "No, I'd say things seem better here, better than I was used to, anyway. Surprisingly so, really."

6/9/2022 12:23:23 Mira has concern in her eyes as she watches Jackie, "I know you might not feel like sharing with me but you might find that I can understand your pain." She smiles warmly at her, "I know that many of us suffer, it's a sad fact of life." She looks into the sky with a faraway look.

6/9/2022 12:32:15 Jackie shrugs, bring her gaze back down to Mira. "Oh, it's nothing so dramatic, really. I just... didn't fit in so well with my family back home. They wanted me to be... someone else. Which is a big part of why I'm out here now, instead."

6/9/2022 12:39:44 Mira meets Jackie's gaze with an understanding nod, "I get it. When my brother and mother passed I didn't feel like I belonged anymore." She hmms and takes the stick to throw for Freya again. "The worst part to me is knowing that I can't protect any of my loved ones. Not from any true threat at least. Guns can only do so much." She frowns down at the ground.

6/9/2022 12:45:00 Jackie nods solemnly. "Yeah. I get that. I've always just had to leave all of that to the actually gifted. Hell, I don't even know how to shoot."

6/9/2022 12:48:56 Mira steps closer and pats Jackie on the shoulder gently. "That's alright, if you ever want to learn I could teach you. I'm part of the police department, in fact." She smiles before dropping her hand. "Even if we are limited we can still be helpful. It might not kill but I imagine getting a shotgun round to the chest would manage to slow most things down." She laughs and sits down as Freya returns, petting the wolf's fur.

6/9/2022 12:55:15 Jackie glances up at the mention of the police department, a slight tic visible in her cheek for a brief moment and she stiffens slightly. "Ooh, uh, I'm not so sure about that. I have a little bit of a history, and, well, it's probably better if I'm not caught possessing a firearm."

6/9/2022 12:58:41 Mira waves a hand quickly, "Don't worry, I'm not going to arrest my own kin. In fact if you ever get into trouble with the law give me a call and I will take care of it." She fishes her phone out of her pocket to show Jackie the number. "I want to do everything I can to help, my loyalties are to my kin before the force."

6/9/2022 13:06:07 Jackie pulls out her own phone, entering the number and giving her own to Mira. "Yeah, of course, thanks. And I didn't mean to imply you were going to arrest any of us kin or anything, just... Ah, it's stupid anyway. I got in trouble for racing, and I can't own a gun but I can own a car? America is weird sometimes."

6/9/2022 13:12:49 Mira takes her phone and slips it back into her pocket, "Any time." She chuckles as Jackie continues, "Yeah, America is strange at times." A bird flits through the air and captures Mira's attention as it flies away. "I bet things get crazy around here as the moon gets full. I'm surprised at how quiet it is honestly, though it is still a bit early."

6/9/2022 13:17:15 Jackie slides her own phone back into a jacket pocket, zipping it in. "I've only been here a few weeks, but it seems like it's quiet more often than not. Which is good in a way, I guess. I mean, we can't have crazy monsters running around every day, right? So sometimes it's a little necessary to make your own fun and find it where you can."

6/9/2022 13:25:07 Mira grins and nods, "That would be bad. The peace is nice, just surprising." She rubs Freya's belly and watches the water of the creek, a dreamy expression on her face. "It almost feels.. unreal. I love it here though." She stands and wipes off her leggings. "I think we have the fun part covered, racing you will be a good time. And we could work on some wheels together sometime if you want."

6/9/2022 13:29:50 Jackie glances at her car, running through that idea again. "Actually, would that be a problem for you? I mean, racing in the streets isn't exactly legal? That's not going to risk your job or anything, is it?"

6/9/2022 13:35:05 Mira grins, "I'm sorry sir, I know that I wasn't supposed to, but I pursued a racer through the streets. I couldn't let them continue to cause danger, after all. What happened to them, you say? Despite my best efforts, they got away." She laughs. "I doubt I would get more than a slap on the wrist. I've done good work for the department, and they aren't quick to turn on their own."

She enjoys the playful banter, a bright smile adorning her delicate features. "I'm looking forward to it, whatever the outcome. I'm a total adrenaline junkie."

6/9/2022 13:46:19 Jackie brightens several degrees herself, her smile cracking wide enough to show teeth. "Yeah, me too. Totally guilty. I expect I'm going to like the motorcycle thing too, now that I'm not living in the land of snow half the year."

6/9/2022 14:02:57 Mira hmms and thinks about that for a minute. "Bikes are my second favorite, I really like Kawasakis." She seems to be recalling a fond memory, "I drove into a ditch when I was first learning how to use one, good times."

6/9/2022 14:06:05 Jackie laughs. "I learned on dirt bikes, going into the ditch was on purpose most of the time. Reno and Lorna, if you haven't met them yet you probably will soon, both are into the big old cruiser types. We're going to try to put together one on an old Indian frame for me, on Lorna's recommendation. As long as it goes fast, I'm sure I'll be happy with it."

6/9/2022 14:12:13 Mira tilts her head, "I've never ridden a dirt bike, sounds really fun though." A flicker of recognition can be seen in Mira's eyes as she looks over at Jackie, "Reno, Moves Like Quicksilver, right? He showed me the way here actually, I met him at the Circle of the Mother." She laughs, "Yep, speed is the most important part! Can't beat your competition without horsepower."

6/9/2022 14:15:27 Jackie nods back. "Yeah, that's him. He's the one who showed me here too, when I first arrived. I haven't seen the Circle of the Mother yet though, myself. And yeah, you get it! Cars or bikes, they're at their best when the throttle is wide open."

6/9/2022 14:20:34 Mira frowns, "I think I met him when he was with his mate, he got rather defensive at first before I explained I was no harm and he had a sniff at me." She looks away rather embarrassed, "I think I frightened his mate since they didn't know me." She smiles, "The Circle is beautiful, it's so peaceful and serene. I didn't expect to find anyone else there to be honest." She nods, "I also like a good drifter, doesn't always have to be fast for that."

6/9/2022 14:35:38 Mira sighs, "None of mine, either. I'm just glad he was kind enough to show me the way here." She smiles down at Freya, a hand in her pocket as the sun rises higher into the sky. "So everyone here is Get of Fenris? Or are there others too?"

6/9/2022 14:37:33 Jackie glances around the grounds here. "Well, here you'll mostly find us Get, yes. Over at the Kinfolk house you'll meet a lot of the others. I know I run into Torey and Erin over that a lot."

6/9/2022 14:41:03 Mira tilts her head, "Kinfolk house? I haven't made my way over there yet. I wouldn't want to live anywhere else than here though." She smiles as her eyes sweep over the landscape, taking in the natural beauty of the area.

6/9/2022 14:46:31 Jackie points off into the distance. "It's over that way. I don't think anyone actually lives there, but it's a nice place to hang out, have a camp fire, eat smores... There's a swimming hole too."

6/9/2022 14:52:27 Mira looks over in the direction Jackie points, interest peaked as she listens, "That does sound rather cozy, I'll have to go check it out sometime." She reaches up to tuck a lock of her hair behind her ear, pausing after as her stomach lets out a fierce rumble. She blushes, embarrassed, "Sorry, the talk of smores almost had me drooling." She giggles.

6/9/2022 14:54:48 Jackie covers a smile with her hand and stifles a chuckle. "Well, I think the cupboard is stocked over there if you're feeling the need for smores? Or I can drive you into town for lunch, if you wanted a real meal?"

6/9/2022 14:57:53 Mira frowns and ponders the options for a moment. "Well.. you don't have to drive me to town. But if you're hungry too then I wouldn't mind going to grab a quick bite together."

6/9/2022 15:00:29 Jackie looks at her watch. "It is getting on to lunch time. Not even counting that it's always lunch time somewhere. There's just a lot more options in town, and we wouldn't have to cook it ourselves."

6/9/2022 15:02:25 Mira looks up at the sky and nods, "You're right, it is close to that time. Time sure flies out here. It's crazy." She beams at Jackie, "If you're driving then the food can be my treat. We can go anywhere you want, I'm not too picky."

6/9/2022 15:06:37 Jackie thinks for a second. "Well, if you haven't been to the Smoke and Barley yet, that's probably a good first bet. Gimme a minute to change... Wait, are you a vegetarian or a vegan or anything? If so the Ess n' Bee is probably a bad choice."

6/9/2022 15:08:51 Mira smiles delightedly, "I went to the Smoke last night before I went to the Circle. I had the chocobaco thing, surprisingly delicious." She laughs, "I am the opposite of a vegan. I love meat and I'm not a big fan of vegetables."

6/9/2022 15:12:29 Jackie laughs, nodding. "I guess you already know the best place to get meat then. The other place I go to sometimes is the Curry Corner, but usually people want to hit the Smoke and Barley."

6/9/2022 15:15:00 Mira tilts her head, "The Curry Corner? I would go there with you if you wanted. I like a good curry." She laughs as her stomach growls again. "See, even my belly agrees."

6/9/2022 15:17:52 Jackie loads her toolbox into the car and brushes her hands off. "Alright, give me a minute to change, and we can head out. Be right back."

(Scene cut to Curry Corner)

6/9/2022 15:24:45 Mira admires the interior of Jackie's car the entire ride, looking almost like a kid in a candy shop. "This is the best, I love what you did with it." When they step out of the car and into the restaurant, a wave of good smells washes over her and she groans. "It smells absolutely amazing, oooh.." She closes her eyes and takes a deep breath before following after Jackie into the members only area. "Umm, am I allowed to be back here?" She looks around curiously.

6/9/2022 15:25:20 Jackie drives them into town, making better time than traffic cops would generally approve of. Soon enough, she parks out in front of the Curry Corner and hops out of the car. "Well, here we are. We should be fine in the back section, family business, you know?"

6/9/2022 15:29:48 Mira ahs and nods before following along and takes a seat at one of the mahogany tables near the fire pit. "This is a really nice place, I can see why you like it. She takes a look at a menu and bites her lip as she tries to decide what she wants to eat. "Hmm, what looks best.." She eyes the different items before grinning, "I think I'll try the pork curry since I usually eat chicken. Nice change of pace."

6/9/2022 15:32:39 Jackie sits down and orders the Creamy Prawn Curry for herself. "There's just so many good options, I just try to jump around and work my way through the menu. I haven't found anything to complain about yet."

6/9/2022 15:35:31 Mira nods as she looks into the crackling of the fire, "I would try everything but the shrimp." She laughs softly, "I don't like seafood much, except crawfish and lobsters. Shrimp and prawn don't settle well in my stomach." She grimaces.

6/9/2022 15:37:52 Jackie leans back, drinking her water. "Oof. Allergies, or just don't like 'em?"

6/9/2022 15:41:07 Mira crosses her legs and shrugs slightly, "I don't think it's allergies, I'm just not a fan. If I eat too much I feel a bit sick." A sudden waft of the smell of their food cooking hits her nose and she mmhs, "I can already tell it will melt in out mouths, good choice. I might come here more often."

6/9/2022 15:47:13 Jackie smiles as she smells the kitchen too. "Oh yeah, the food availability here is dangerous. I'm really going to have to start exercising more or something."

6/9/2022 15:48:54 Mira giggles, "Well if that's the case I'll work out with you. I would hate to get chunky with all this delicious food available to me. Between here and the Smoke I'm going to get fat if I'm not careful."

6/9/2022 15:53:45 Jackie giggles along with her. "Yeah, that's what I'm afraid of too. I don't really want to have to replace my whole wardrobe. Someone was talking about starting up a new martial arts and self defense dojo, that's also a shelter. I was thinking that might something good to join, but I don't think it's open yet."

6/9/2022 15:57:30 Mira winces, "Ooh, replacing an entire wardrobe is the worst. I hated growing out of my favorite clothes and having to give them away." She tilts her head, "A dojo? I would love to learn some martial arts. I can hold my own in a fight but I've never trained in a place like that. I honestly wanted to learn Brazilian jujitsu."

6/9/2022 16:00:17 Jackie leans forward onto her elbows. "Brazilian Jujitsu, huh? Sounds kinda fancy. I've picked up a few things hear and there, hard not to really, but nothing like that."

6/9/2022 16:04:22 Mira laughs, "Nothing fancy at all, I saw some videos of it and it looked crazy. Thought it might be neat to learn." She beams as their food is brought out and placed before them, eyeing her pork curry with a delighted smile. "Ooh, wow. This looks tasty." She pulls hers closer and leaves it for the moment to allow it to cool off.

6/9/2022 16:08:44 Jackie reaches for her fork then looks at the cream sauce, then down at her dark clothing, then instead grabs a couple of napkins to cover her lap and her shirt. "If I don't, I'll probably regret it."

6/9/2022 16:11:04 Coming in the door is the red head known as Erin. She is looking around as she sniffs the air and mmms a little bit. She spots people and waves "Sup" she calls out as she steps a little further considering where to maybe sit.

6/9/2022 16:25:32 Mira looks up at the newcomer as she arrives, "Hello there, if you're looking for a place to sit you're more than welcome to join us. She gestures at their table near the fire pit. "We won't bite, I promise." She smiles before beginning to dig into her curry, a happy sigh leaving her lips as the flavors greet her tastebuds."

6/9/2022 16:30:21 Erin looks between both of you and smiles "Thanks, as long as I'm no bother" she makes her way over to sit down with them "I guess we all were craving curry" she grins at Mira "Hi, you new to the city?" she does join them. "What are we having?" she looks curious.

6/9/2022 16:32:27 Mira shakes her head, swallowing a bite of her food before replying to Erin, "Not a bother at all, you're more than welcome." She nods to Jackie, "The curry was her idea, I'm just glad I decided to come along." She takes another bite of her curry and shivers pleasantly. "Just enough of a kick to it."
6/9/2022 16:36:40 Mira nods to Erin, "I am somewhat new, arrived not too long ago. I'm having the pork myself, figured I would have a break from chicken."

6/9/2022 16:40:34 Jackie comes back up from her own first bite, having already splashed white sauce on her improvised bib. "I'm doing the Creamy Prawn Curry this time. Not a lot of wrong answers here though."

She takes a few more bites with a happy hum.

Erin, Mira was talking about rebuilding an old Mustang, that sounds pretty cool, huh?"

When Jackie speaks Mira turns her attention to the other woman, grinning and nodding before saying to Erin, "Thanks, I would love to see about throwing together some wheels, it shouldn't be too hard with the help." She goes back to munching away happily on her food, her mismatched eyes watching Journey curiously.

He says, seeming to just take it that she's Get.

"I just met her so haven't done a tour or answered any questions." she grins.

It's much different than what I'm used to, that's for sure." She smiles at Erin. "You don't have to give me a tour or anything, I think I can find my way around."

It wasn't a good time in my life so I was more than happy to leave when I got the chance." She brightens up at the mention of cars, "That's right, I love fast rides. I'm going to try to get all the parts to a mustang and put it together. It will be a fun project." She laughs softly as Jackie peers toward the kitchen. "I guess your eyes were too small for your stomach." She beams brightly at Erin, "I would love to come along, though I'm not sure I'll get in the water. A good sunbathe is always nice though."

Maybe steering clear of the boardwalks area. I've found too many corpses under them. Keep finding and wiping out the threats there, but damn if the idea of wooden boardwalks attract things preying on unwary people."

"I would feel better with a gun to at least have some protection but it's not like I could hide it in a bikini anyways. Though I guess I could bring a purse. Getting sand in purses is soo annoying though."

He probably wasn't what one would a 'member', and definitely had no card to back it up if he got challeng- is that a fire pit he spots? That's a fire pit. That's really cool.

Journey is still apparently waiting for his order, and both Mira and Erin are part way through theirs. Jackie has cramming something into her pocket when she sees the door open and looks over at the entering stranger.

"Sorry to intrude, ah, my curiosity got the better of me." The warm reception seemed to egg him on a little more, closing in to passively look for a spot to cop at the dining table.

He chuckles a little, partially to take the edge off of the recollection. "I'm an Engineer so, my connection with the Weaver had me at ah, some odds. It's nice to meet you all, I appreciate the hospitality." He bows his head a little, letting most of his worries seep back and away.

The 'singing' stops, and there's a sort of muffled conversation just beyond that little 'Members Only' entrance that sounds like it ends with, 'well tell your mother I said hi, then,' and the door finally manages to open and be taken up entirely by a big friggin' slab of person.

Then she looks over at Armani, and waves politely. "Uh, hi. I'm Jackie, kinda new around here."

He speaks a bit quieter to Jackie, smiling genuinely as he turns towards her. Anyone could listen in, but he'd otherwise let the other conversation muffle his with Jackie's. "Things like, using computers, or driving, or knowing like...basic human etiquette? Gods, that would have been impossible. I probably woulda -ran- here, butt-shaking, tail-waving, raving about the end of the world or something, stepping all over the sacred cheese. But you know somethin'?" He leaned a little closer, locking his amethyst eyes with hers. "She taught me so much. Almost everything I needed to know. I still get stared at weird when I quote comic book heroes, but I know thing like, right from wrong and I know that deep down, humans can be sweet n' loving people. She was my everything and she made everything after the Plague possible for me...as much as it hurts to be away from her. Just...something to consider, mm?"

And her name...was Hana." A bittersweet smile spreads along his face, thought he tries to quickly move onto the reference: "I-...mmnnn.." He seemed to debate on this. "...Prooobably not? I say that mostly out of respect for his seniority and martial arts skills. And she was -definitely- not April." He chuckles into his hand, shaking his head at Jackie's TMNT reference. "...I guess you Garou could be my Turtles but I feel like that'd be an odd dynamic given that most of you are Elders and I'm like...new to shifter life AND human life...firstcomefirstservestartingnow." He cracks a grin, cackling as he leans back into his chair.

He looks to Ratchet, and nods, "I do hope you're at peace with how your relationship with your Hana ended, and hope it was acceptable."

One is a little vinier than the other and they are handed out. The more tightly coiled vines go to the higher pure breed, as Journey described it. "Put this on. Well, it's basically that...except that it's a horrific disease that can start close to a year out from the changing, that's the Infection, and it kills about nine out of ten affected shifters. Yeah, awful stuff. Regular rats affected that way become Rodens-borne, and normally they are pretty...inept at all the human stuff. Would have been really unfortunate to be a Rodens Engineer if I wasn't human-raised."
