Ray strolls around the cave whistling softly. The Latino in the bespoke suit pauses every now and again to tap one of the large mushrooms which lights up with a softly glow. The bioluminescence waking in the fungus from the Kumoti's touch. Each time they light up the spiderman guffaws and applauds. "Delightful!" he exclaims before tapping his chin and turning his gaze to the far walls.
The sound of an engine increases as a motorcycle approaches the cave. After it sounds extremely close the noise cuts off entirely. Moments later the sound of gravel scuffling from someone approaching can be heard and then a figure blocks out part of the sunlight as it is framed in the cavern entrance.
She, for it is definitely a woman, doesn't speak. Rather, she walks in as if she belongs there. She stops a respectful distance from Ray (farther than most people could reach or jump aggressively) and waits to be addressed if she hasn't been as she approached.
Ray whips around at the sounds of approach and the beaming smile on his face momentarily shrinks to a smirk. He tilts his head a little taking a few steps in the new arrivals direction. "Hello" he says quietly narrowing his eyes a little as he studies her softly exclaiming, "Ah." once he sees what he was looking for. "On behalf our beloved Mother Queen I welcome you. My name is Raymond Rodriguez". There is a little tip of his hat before he takes a step back giving the other Damhàn plenty of space.
Parker nods curtly and looks over the Damhàn, making note of his facial markings. "When I was told to come to Prospect I was also told to come here," she says. She then asks, "What name do you want, human or...? the Ovid would call it my Rite Name but it is the one I think of as me."
Ray squints a little and chuckles, the animated demeanor is strange for one of the Damhàn but that doesn't seem to stop ol' Ray from guffawing every few minutes. "Who told you that I wonder? Not that I'm not delighted to see you! So few Tenere here it breaks my heart, truly. As for your name." he shrugs a little before continuing. "However you would prefer to be addressed. The Ovid here are..pliant so very few of us regardless of faction bother with the practice. I am a little more curious about your intentions here. Passing through or looking to set roots down?".
Parker frowns and says, "Queen Ananasa told me that," she says, also more expressive than might be expected for a member of their breed. "/My/ name is Eyes-in-the-Dark, but my human name is Parker Morales so you can call me by either in private but to be compliant with the Laws call me Parker when I'm in this form," she explains - and yes gives a command-ish request. "I'm setting down roots. May get a job, may open my own boutique," she states.
It may now be noticeable that she is not dressed traditionally for a desert environment. She's got low gray buckle boots, dark purple crushed velvet tights, a black miniskirt and a dark-gray semi-translucent long sleeved shirt worn over a black sports bra. Looks more appropriate for clubbing than hiking, but she wears it well.
Ray nods and blinks slowly in satisfaction as he replies, "Excellent! Just making sure it wasn't chisme that brought you here.". The Kumoti lets out a boisterous laugh and starts to pace a little bit. "That is so wonderful to hear! I'm sure Eiji will be elated to see another Tenere here. I would seek out the Plicare at the Fashion Valley Mall if you don't see him here. He is one of the cornerstones of our little project. You are more than welcome to utilize the resources of the Colony while you find your feet as it were." he punctuates by gesturing around casually. "What sort of a boutique were you considering?".
Parker frowns at the Spanish term, shaking her head in confusion. "No, it was our Queen Mother not anyone else who pointed me to this location," she says, clueless about the meaning and assuming - incorrectly - that its a term for something out there in the world rather than it being a social term. "Good to know there's another Tenere out there in the city, Roy," she says. She looks like she wants to ask more about the Colony but she defers to his rank and answers his question instead. "I make fabric and design clothing."
Ray chuckles softly before saying, "Ah how wonderful! If you need some start up money I am happy to help. We are experimenting with collaboration here at our Colony. Attempting the emulate balance as we each correct things in our own way.". He gestures at her with an open hand, "You look like you might have questions maybe?".
Parker answers the question with a curt nod and then she begins to speak. "What are the resources at the Colony?" is her first question which is quickly followed by, "How many Damhàn are there in the city that you know of?" and finally, "Am I expected to keep my Sylie here?"
Ray chuckles and shakes his immediately in response to her last question, "No not at all. This is a collaborative effort between the factions. I hope no one tries to reside here unless it is part of a very clever ploy. We have a handful present, mostly my faction as many as seven of us though I cannot speak to how many remain but I have met nearly eight all told. Our resources currently are sparse as only Eiji and I have invested in them currently. I personally have no small amount of clout which I am happy to lend to help my brothers and sisters loyal to our beloved Mother's cause.".
He shrugs a little and continues, "You are welcome to pool your resources with ours and merge into the Colony. We have two simple tasks at the moment as agreed upon by all the Viskr we have consulted. Our first is to finish this place. A home base as it were but sadly we have not gained as much ground as I would like.".
"It would help to understand the place and what is being done with it but if I can help finish the place I will do what I can," Parker says about the first task. "Clarify that for me but first, what is the second thing?"
"Well each faction needs to carve out some space. The Hatar who started this only carved out this cave and the next one in. Each faction needs to make their own space and expand the Colony.". Ray stops and crosses his arms across his chest and silently weighs the second question. Eventually he offers this answer, "It is a delicate thing but I have no doubt what our Mother Queen requires. The City Parent of Prospect must die.".
Parker frowns again and says, "Explain," in a perfunctory fashion that may seem disrespectful to anyone expecting orderly and regimental interactions but would be obvious to any Damhàn as the Secean exercising her right as a daughter of Ananasa.
Ray chuckles and waggles a finger at the Tenere. He opens his mouth about to answer but lets out another peal of laughter. "Well the details remain hazy as it is my belief that each faction will have tasks to fufil. Without a strong presence from the Hatar I fear we face a small knot to unravel. And based on our sacred laws it is not my place to instruct another on how to do what our Mother bade them to do. But as I understand it. The Hatar must, as the Wyrm once did destroy imbalance. I imagine through Ovid proxy. My faction will have the Incarna rebirth to attend and I imagine you well groomed agents of the Weaver will have to make sure we don't tear causality asunder.".
Parker nods less curtly and smiles somewhat awkwardly. "I see. How does that equate to the spirit of the city dying?" she asks.
Ray holds out his hand as if holding something aloft, "The City Father must die, I believe there are several reasons though only a few ave been made clear to me. We must engineer the event or deliver the blow ourselves. This will start a chain of events that will lead to the birth of a different Incarna fulfilling the same role, the City Parent.".
Parker calmly says, "I see what you're saying. I'll have to see how I feel about this and consult Ananasa if she'll advise me." She looks Ray in the eyes and says, "You understand I hope, Roy?"
Ray nods a little, "Do what you will. It is not my place to tell you what to do. I'm merely sharing what myself and the other Viskr believe. Take whatever time you require. We are patient after all.".
Parker, making a very human-like hrming sound, ponders a moment and says, "This Ejay you mentioned is a Plicare. I shall consult him on this for sure." She then says, "Thank you for the information, Roy. Back to our first task... this Ejay hasn't done any work to setting up a Tenere section to the Colony yet?"
Ray chuckles, "Eiji. And they know it's necessity but we have many tasks here and not always as much time as we need. Eiji is the only other one of us who has contributed to the Colony resources helping me establish a spirit network for remote intelligence. It's just the faction rooms I'm waiting for word on.".
Parker nods and says, "Ah, Egee, right," and then shakes her head about the rest. "I'll see if he or Ananasa can help me understand better." She then says, to confirm but sounding confident she is right, "I assume you don't care to know where I'm residing, correct?"
Ray shakes his head and checks his wristwatch. "It's really none of my business unless you need it to be? I hate to be abrupt but I realize I have some appointments I yet need make. It was nice meeting you. Reach out if you need me I'm at the Continental lounge regularly."
