Ildar throws a text that he'd be right there, then heads over for the Caern via that moon bridge Mammoth makes for him. Once there, he greets those he normally does, giving up his phone as he heads for that Amphitheater. A casual stride has him strolling in while he looks about.
Aaryn has asked those gathered to meet her at the Amphitheater during its down-time. She waits, as patiently as possible, trying not to pace as everyone arrives. She seems to be counting off members. Theron gets a relieved nod and a smile, Aldric an honored dip of the head. She casts a glance toward the skies to make sure her Hrafn is safe and then spots Ildar.
"Honor's Keeper 'Rhya," she addresses the Den Father, "thank you for coming. A few of us stumbled up on a situation that needs to be taken care of, but we think we'll need your help." With that, she turns to Aldric, "Ironsides 'Rhya, have you met Honor's Keeper?" She gestures towards Theron, "you know, of course, Theron..." And next she looks to the large tree just inside the amphitheater, "And this is Hrafn. Journey has vouched for him and he is my ally."
Hrafn. That would be the large, common raven sitting in a tree, overlooking the amphitheatre. Its waiting silently, keeping quiet as to not overstep any boundaries. A silent Corax, who would have thought it possible? The bird is just sort of looming up there, studying the proceedings below.
Aldric inclines his head respectfully to Ildar as Aaryn introduces him. "I cannot say, I believe so...the first time I was in the city, but either way it is an honor." He stands next to Aaryn, his hands folded behind his back; standing at attention while he looks to the raven sitting overhead.
Theron offers a light nod to everyone, "Hey..." he greets with a polite smile. "Honors Keeper-Rhya." he adds with a dip of his chin.
Ildar slows as he approaches the group. A small nod is given to each in turn, although it's Aldric that Ildar flashes a smile to. "Well then. So it's more official. I am Ildar Solokov, Rite-Name Honor's Keeper. Adren, Silver Fang Ahroun born on two legs. Grandson of Fights-the-Dark, Great great grandson of Fangs-of-Justice. Great great great Grandson of Luna's Claws. Den Father and Patrol leader of the Sept of the Enduring Spirit. Pack member of the Kandula's Hope. Mated to Xenovia Solokov. I am part of House Unbreakable Hearth and follower of the Helios lodge. It's nice to meet you." Ildar glances up at the Corax a moment, studying the bird thoughtfully, then looks back to the group. "So how may I be of assistance?"
Ah, a proper introduction, so Aldric must respond in kind. Soon Aaryn and Theron will probably be able to do it for him. "I am Ironsides, known amongst humans at Aldric Hegdahl. Modi Cliath to the Get of Fenris, born on four legs. Descendant of Tarjei Hardrule, Great grandson of Ragnar "Spirit's Way", Grandson of Hilde "Battlemaiden" and child of Thurston "War Hammer" Ahroun leader of the Sept of the Endless Moon." Then after that mouthful goes quiet so Aaryn can talk.
Aaryn nods and kneels near Aldric to tug out the map that Sten and Theron brought with then. She smooths out the edges, giving Aldric enough time to officially introduce himself before jumping into the matter-at-hand. "Sten, Hrafn and I were confronted by a forest spirit who... Demanded chiminage in the form of ridding it's area of some who were, as it said, 'disrespecting' it. Hrafn scouted the place for us." She pauses to look up towards the large Uncommon Raven and gestures, hopefully? For it to consider a closer branch, or shoulder, "Hrafn, I do not want to intercommunicate any of this, so I'm counting on you...." She turns to the map, then. "There is a large building here" indicated by a stab of the index finger, "several armed guards, and a pipe" she draws a finger along where the pipe extends, "with a foul substance. But the most dangerous force is called 'Colony'.... Hrafn, am I saying all this right?"
While people are speaking about names and ranks, the raven up in the tree is watching with interest. He clicks his beak a few times, letting out a few staccato sounding kraawing sounds. Wings flex a bit, almost as if spreading out, but then stopping and folding back against his body. Once Aaryn gets in on the business at hand, however, the bird leaps off the branch and sails down towards the gathering. He comes to a smooth and graceful landing upon her shoulder, keeping his wings partially spread a bit for balance before folding them along his body. He begins by saying a few things in .. raven. Lots of beak clicks, raven-kroaking and such before he suddenly switches to .. English. A male, human voice, "...and once I found the fat man in the back of the van, I looked closer. I call it colony, for it was speaking in many voices in one body. I have heard the foul language of the Wyrm before, and this time I heard it again." he pauses, "I followed them to their headquarters. Heavily guarded. Several men with large guns on the roof, the ground and inside. They are using human prisoners. I can not say who was human and who was not."
Ildar nods a little, gathering the information from the others. he frowns at the explanation, then eyes the bird as he spoke first in bird, then in english. A small nod is given as he sighs softly. "I see. This is certainly unfortunate. Then I'm guessing you'd like my assistance in ending this threat? If this thing is indeed a colony, most likely all the humans are corrupted.. But.. I can take out the guards, we can free them and check them." Ildar frowns thoughtfully, then looks to the others. "How far away is it from here?"
Aaryn looks up at Ildar as he speaks and nods. "Yes, Honor's-Keeper 'Rhya," she affirms, "I've seen your work with a bow before and was hoping you'd agree to take out the guards from afar. We also thought to draw out this man, this... 'Colony', Hrafn speaks of." After a short pause, she continues, "I believe him to be a man, perhaps possessed by a host of banes. If he is speaking in many voices, this makes the most sense.... Although I am just Cliath. And, yes... Free them, check them and then determine their fate... If they can be cleansed, we will and, if not, recycle."
"The area is about a two-hour drive from the lake," Aaryn confirms.
Aldric steps to Aaryn's side so he too can look down at the information without looming over the Corax to do so. He nods slowly to what Ildar says then looks to Aaryn. "We must be sure to get them all, cannot risk it spreading like an infection should one manage to slip out. Don't want to face the same issue again and lose more should it set up shop somewhere else."
The raven is quiet as the others speak, waiting for a turn to naturally impose himself. And when it comes, the bird speaks, "This group is a direct threat to your sacred lands. The spirits have given their warning." he says, "Cutting off the head of the snake will usually kill the body. The rest can be tracked and hunted afterwards."
Ildar nods solemnly in agreement. He eyes the map, then looks to the others. "Very well. Let's go. We'll make sure no one escapes. I just need to get close. I can deal with them all before you go in. It sounds like it'll be pretty straight forward." He would take a moment, focusing himself to commune with the spirits that he works with so often. A final nod is given and he looks to the others. "Let's go."
Aaryn looks up to Aldric now as she begins to roll up the maps and stand, "do we have your blessing, Alpha?" She asks as she takes a moment to carefully stroke the blue-black feathers of the Magnificent Raven on her shoulder.
Aldric gives Aaryn a small smile as he nods. "Of course, it is our duty to see to these threats when they present themselves." He looks to the Raven and inclines his head slightly. "We're fortunate that watchful eyes caught this before the situation was worse." Then he reaches down to lightly clasp her shoulder, the one without a bird on it. "Come. Let us make them sorry they've touched Sept lands."
The raven is quiet a few moments, "Danger will be once we get inside. Small spaces, lots of guns." he begins, "And if there are alarms.." he pauses, "But, too many ifs. Will have to solve Ifs on the ground.." he pauses, drooping a bit. He droops as he said the word ground. As if it was a bad, bad word.
And so our Intrepid Heroes set off, the Corax to the skies and the others in various modes of transportation. Aaryn and Aldric take the lead on motorbike, keeping an eye on Hrafn as they do so just in case the Eyes in the Sky discern any changes from that altitude. As they draw near enough, Aaryn pulls off to the side, finding enough area to be mostly unseen. She tugs off her helmet as she dismounts, looking around to ensure the entire envoy made it in turn. When they begin to gather, she nods to each of them. "Stealth time. Let's move in as close as possible. Hrafn can keep an eye to the skies, He will warn us if the situation changes. When Honor's Keeper begins his work, it should provide enough cover for the rest of us to move in closer.... With any luck, that will be enough to draw Colony out and we can attack...." She looks to Aldric, "Alpha, as Ahroun, does that sound like a good plan, or would you change anything?"
Meanwhile, in the sky, the raven does what ravens do. He not only flies, but forgets that he is supposed to be quiet. So he sings a bit to himself, making sure that if anyone wants to know there is a raven in the air, they now know there is a raven in the sky.
Ildar meets up with the others, nodding a little at the outlined plan. Once it's given, he shifts to that crinos fluidly, gathering himself to leap upward, vanishing up into the trees silently. From there, he would move from tree to tree, getting to a proper sniper position up there. Once he's set, that bow comes out, a series of arrows are gathered as Ildar checks the number of targets and makes
sure he's drawn enough arrows to take them all down.
A little red dot is on the raven, someone is aiming for him the man holding it has 4 arms and a huge rigle in his hands. 50 cali ready to make a blood smear in the sky, his snarl of teeth seem to big for his mouth, and a loud wicked chuckle of violence coming out of his lips. He is on top of the building aiming, it seems they are at full alert, as if the sky aporcah trigger them or maybe they just parnoid but it is a war zone ahead.
Getting into that sniper position, the white wolf above in the tree narrowed his eyes in contemplation. His own vision just as good as Falcon's, he's able to easily pick out those targets, especially the one going after the raven. Arrows drawn smoothly and rapidly from that endless quiver, he is notching and releasing in that unique blur of motion, the blizzard of arrows is intense, if brief. All of the guards outside drop from the twin arrows sticking out of their skulls, one in each eye. HK waits a moment, watching for any other motion, then calls down. >>Outside is clear.<<
There was going to be so many things that the raven was going to do in that moment. He saw the dot, he was going to be all quick and fast! Reactionwise, he's out cold, though. Before he can even think of folding up his wings to majestically dive out of the snipers scopes, the air gets dark with the cloud of arrows. And then everything is dead. The raven does a little turn in the air, glancing down at the ground. He has stopped making raven sounds, too, because that was apparently a bad idea!
Now it was Frostbite's turn to move in. 'Guides chuffs in recognition of Ildar's confirmation and trots out toward the building, body low and muzzle toward the ground. She keeps her ears locked and eyes forward, waiting for any movement. Here, Colony, Colony, Colony........
Well Theron isnt going to let Aaryn get all the fun. Sword in hand he quietly walks at her side toward the building in a low crouch.
Aldric waits until the rain has stopped falling to start moving once more. His form leans forward, blending seamlessly into his dire wolf form. He continues to move forward, skirting the edge of the forest until he spies a door.
Ildar nods a little as the others move up. That bow going away, he lithely hops to the ground while shifting back into human form. Landing in that typical super-hero crouch, he stands up and walks after the group, keeping alert as he readies for what else may be coming.
The raven slowly comes into a pattern of circular flying high above the compound; keeping himself afloat on the high winds. He is not coming in for a landing, but rather remains high above and keeping watch. Seems the bird has no intention of going inside at all. Thats just asking for getting ones tailfeathers nicked!
Guides trots along, taking a moment to pause, a paw in mid-step and her ears flick, gathering intel. A growl rises from her throat and she takes off in a charge at the front door, shifting into homid as she does so. She reaches the door and reaches up, to snag something off the metal frame. She looks down at it and slams a fist into the doorway. She turns to look at Aldric, behind her, her expression a mixture of anger and defeat.
Black Dire Wolf tilts his head, and as Guides shifts back to human he pads out from under the cover of forest to head over to her. He keeps his eyes open, glancing to the sides as he stops near her and looks at her curiously. <<What is wrong?>>
Ildar walks over, staring at the shifting words with a moment. He frowns thoughtfully for a moment. "Opp is over. Abandon the post." Ildar would speak up, reading the strange writing. He narrows his eyes at the odd feel it tries to do of grabbing him. "Something unusual.. ahh.. Let's make sure these guys were the only ones left. Then get to cleansing the place, eh?"
It helps to have eyes that are basically high powered binoculars. And to have trained oneself to make out even the tiniest of detail. He finally abandons his high altitude flying and begins a descend towards Aaryn.. but once he gets about halfways, he stops and levels out. And returns to his high altitude circular pattern.
Ildar looks the building over, then walks over to the 'road' that the vehicles had used, kneeling to plant his ear to it. He stares along it's path, listening for a few moments. Frowning, he stands to his feet, dusting his knees off. "Alright. They pulled out early in the morning. Seems these guys were waiting for the bird to come back. Just in case." He looks to the others. "I can track them.. But it seems they were screwing with the water over here."
The raven sticks to the sky a bit more before he finally begins to sail down towards the ground. He finds a nice tree to land in near the others, folding his wings up along his body to watch silently. Mostly, he's watching Ildar, studying the man.
Theron nods, "Well, then at the very least we should see what may need to be done to clean up and then we can try and track them again..."
Aaryn's jaw has already taken to working as she grinds her teeth. She trails a hand on the dire wolf's shoulder and sighs. As Theron catches up to them, she explains the situation and apparent note, which is now balled up in her hand. She nods to Ildar, and looks up towards Hrafn. "It is our honor to abide by the Spirit's Request, Honor's Keeper 'Rhya," she admits. "We'll clean up the mess here, cleanse the water and make sure that any umbral blights are erased. I wonder if the rest of the traveling operation wouldn't be better watched by other members of the Sept?"
Aldric changes again, shifting back to his human form as the news goes out. He frowns, head tilting at Aaryn. "We do not give up. This place will be cleansed but they are they priority. We cannot let them set up roots elsewhere."
Ildar nods to them. "That is fine. Do the cleansing well. The water attack can have far reaching implications. I'll track where they went and gather a group to deal with that. Thank you for letting me assist you." He glances around. "If someone doesn't mind gathering the arrows, I'll cleanse them when I get back from tracking?"
