5/24/2022 11:21:04 Seems Jackie may have followed Reno here to Stonecreek. He's on his bike, puttering up the lane. He pulls over to the side and parks, shutting the bike off. He takes the helmet off and replaces it with his hat. He waits for Jackie to park and gestures over towards the tables. "Folks should be around or back soon." He says to her.

5/24/2022 11:30:29 Jackie glides her car off onto the grass and shuts it down before hopping out. She glances up at the sky, frowning at the overcast clouds for a brief moment before shrugging. She turns to the others and raises a hand in greeting, then heads over to meet them. Unlike Reno, it looks like she has not changed clothing since last night.

5/24/2022 11:39:46 Looks like Theron's busy over by the forge. Reno gestures to the tables, "Mead is free flowing. There's always food too." He grins at that. "I don't see Beck's car, she might be at work."

5/24/2022 11:45:36 Theron comes out of the forge and he must not have started much work yet because he is still clean. Sleaves rolled up, "Hey..." he greets Reno and then smiles a moment to Jackie, "Friend?"

5/24/2022 11:56:19 Jackie approaches with a smile, crossing the distance from the road to the smithy area with long strides taken with practical looking boots. She addresses Reno first after having to consider for a moment, "It's probably a bit early for me to get into the mead, I'm not sure yet if I'm done driving for the day. I can't say no to food though, it feels like I've been living on road snacks for days. Because, well, I have." She shifts her attention to Theron as he comes out of the forge area, her eyes running curiously over the hilt of the sword sticking up over his shoulder, then at he open door to the forge. "Hi, I'm Jackie, brand new in town. I hope I didn't interrupt a project, or anything? It looks like you were working?"

5/24/2022 12:02:55 Reno gives Theron a bow of his head, "How's it going Sledgehammer?" He listens to Jackie and chuckles, "I know that feeling all to well." But riding or not, Reno heads over to the table. "What'cha working on Theron?"

5/24/2022 12:13:03 Jackie heads for the tables behind Reno, sneaking in one last curious glance toward the forge before refocusing on the idea of sustenance. "Really? You spend a lot of time on the road then?"

5/24/2022 12:15:29 Reno nods towards the bike, "Me and Red put a lot of pavement under us." He makes a plate, a big one and big mug of mead. "It's our nature." Reno explains starting to pick at his food. "Stargazers tend to be lone wolves, wanderers ... always on the path of enlightenment."

5/24/2022 12:23:39 Jackie stretches herself out for a moment, twisting her lower back in both directions before sitting down. "Wow, that sounds... Kind of exhausting, really. I really don't normally travel that much, this is my first time taking a road trip like this. Then again, cross country road trips are a pretty extreme example. I'm used to doing a lot of driving, but in shorter bursts, you know?"

5/24/2022 12:28:40 Theron smiles, "Nice to meet you Jackie. Im Theron Santorini, Berserker, kinfolk of the Get of Fenris. Member of Munnin's Talons pack." he offers as introduction. To Reno he shrugs, "Ive been working on a sword for a Fenrir theurge. He wants a personal weapon and I am happy to oblige. He didnt say but my guess is he will make it a fetish."

5/24/2022 12:33:52 Reno ohs, "That's pretty slick." He says to Theron, "Putting silver in it, or just a steel blade?" He looks to Jackie, "It has its moments where the solitude can be deafening. But I enjoy the wind therapy most days. Allows me the peace to deal with my thoughts."

5/24/2022 12:37:28 Jackie forgoes speech for a couple of minutes to cram food in her face as if she was racing to the bottom of her dish. She does look up at Reno's question to Theron, curious about the answer herself.

5/24/2022 13:05:10 "I use a process to make a sword of pure steel...like the Ulfherht. They are lighter and stronger than typical swords." the berserker explains. "No silver, I have never considered forging a weapon like a Klaive."

5/24/2022 13:08:30 Reno mms, "I may get you to craft me a new blade. If you can make it stronger than this one." He says, patting his hip. He eat a bit, "Can you take a break, come meet new family?"

5/24/2022 13:13:23 As the norm, Reno's at the table eating and drinking. Today is no different. But he's sitting near a new face, who he conversing with. Theron's walking over from the forge and seems to be in the conversation as well. Reno's also back in his old threads, no more robes.

5/24/2022 13:13:24 Jackie leans back away from the cleaned plate, wiping her mouth. "I imagine you've got a fair number of craftspeople and such around? Might I be able to help out somehow, I am going to need to find a way to pitch in sooner or later. Sooner is better, of course, I'm not trying to take a vacation or anything. Oh, yeah, last night Elder Leif mentioned a bad pump causing something to flood?"

5/24/2022 13:21:03 Theron nods to Jackie, "We have a few. I dont like to brag but I do ok." he assures. "Bad pump? Damn. I hadnt heard..." he grumbles. "Always more to learn."

5/24/2022 13:22:51 Becks pulls up in her old, beat up but much loved car and pulls herself out. She goes to the trunk and pulls a big box in her arms. She is struggling a bit but she looks determined! She oofff's a little but is smiling as she waddles her way towards the tables. She's a short thing but she peeks around the corner of the box and says "Yay! people! I hope everyone is having a great day on this beautiful morning!" her voice cheerful and bright.

5/24/2022 13:23:45 "It's the sump pump for the septic tank." Reno explains. "It took a minute, but I figured out what he was talking about." He takes a big gulp of mead and wipes his mouth on his sleeve. "Also, Jackie ... Leif isn't an Elder yet. He's the tribal elder, but is actually an Athro." He sniffs, "It's also alright to just call him Leif when not in formal situations." 5/24/2022 13:23:45 Looking over at the arriving car, he gets up and makes his way over, "Let me help with that."

5/24/2022 13:33:51 Jackie's nose wrinkles at hearing that it's a septic pump, as it starts sounding like a shittier job than she had first imagined. She stands up from the table, looking a bit embarrassed as she apologizes, "Oops, sorry, I guess I misunderstood that last night. Just Leif, got it. But, uh, yeah... I need to unpack some things first, but once I can dig out my toolbox point me toward your... plumbing problem, and I'll take a look." She looks over as the new arrival joins them, raising her hand in a wave and smiling. The corner of her mouth twitches slightly as she gets a good look at Beck but her voice is friendly as she greets her, "Uh, yes! It is a good day, I'd say. Hi, I'm Jackie, new person."

5/24/2022 13:40:03 Becks grins over at Reno and passes the box over to him "Oh you're a sweet one you are. " She then points at him and says "But, just so we are clean I am a strong independent woman who doesn't need a big strong man to carry any boxes for me." She can't hold back her smile though and she winks at him because, well, she DID pass that box over. "Thank you , Reno."She says with clear fondness in her tone. The new face captures her attention though and Becks flashes her a bright smile as she starts to make her way over in that direction. " Hello there, Jackie. Welcome! I am Rebecca Kerrigan, kinfolk to the Get of Fenris and mate to Leif, The Wall Rhya, Jarl to the Get here in town. I am very pleased to meet you! " Might be hard to believe this tiny woman is mate to that 7 foot tall mountain but it seems to be true! She waddles over to take a seat, one hand resting upon her stomach as she lowers herself down.

5/24/2022 13:44:22 Taking the box, Reno puts it over on the table. He bows his head to her, "Yes ma'am, I have no doubts. You're just letting me be a gentleman." He agrees with everything she says. He lets the introductions go and takes his hat off, covering his heart and bowing a bit to Becks. "I would stay a bit longer, but I'm having lunch with Meigui." He grins, "I've a suprise I'll show you and Misty when I get back." Oh, teasing with a suprise.

5/24/2022 13:45:11 Theron glances over to Jackie, "Youre a plumber?" he wonders, "Nice. One less thing for me to do." be chuckles amused. "Hey Becks." he adds in greeting at the other kinfolk arrival.

5/24/2022 13:52:18 Becks nods her head to Reno and gives him a cheeky little look when she hears where he is going. "Behave yourself and have a wonderful time. " Hearing he's coming back with a surprise she ooo's and says "You little tease! I shall have heart burn all day now from the excitement of waiting!" teasing him once more. When she hears Theron's voice though she looks over and hops up, she'd missed him with the box and excitement of meeting the new arrival. "Theron!" she says happily, no matter how often she sees him she's still just as happy each and every time. She will walk over and give him a hug and big ol kiss on the cheek.

I usually work more with cars, but this wouldn't be the first time I've had to get something random back into functional order. I guess you could say I'm good working with my hands? Not like an actual blacksmith, but I've dabbled here and there with different things. And like I said, I do want to pitch in as long as I'm going to be hanging around, so let me know if there's stuff I can help with. Oh, and I don't know how many drivers you've got, but I can move people and stuff around too. Well, once I unpack and make room, that is."

5/24/2022 14:19:16 Becks comes back out of the house and comes back over to the group. " So sorry. I swear he's playing soccer with my bladder! " She looks to Jackie though and says " oooo a mechanic! That is wonderful! I myself am a nurse. I work the trauma unit at the ER in town and am the handy booboo patcher here in camp. Never do have much work to do though when most of my patients just heal themselves." she chuckles a bit at that.

5/24/2022 14:20:03 Theron nods, "Nice. I tend to be the local handy man, blacksmithint, carpentry, whatever." he says as he approaches. Stopping to pick at the food previously prepared. "Any help is fantastic. Cars huh? Be careful what you drive around here. I had a monster throw my jeep. So if you love it, hide it." be grins.

5/24/2022 14:25:22 Jackie casts a long glance at her heavily customized Impreza, a small shudder running down her spine at the thought of it flying through the air, tumbling end over end... She tears her gaze away from the horrifying vision before her minds eye can run it to its dreadful conclusion. She shakes it off as she turns back. "Uh, nurse huh? That's really cool. I've got some first aid training, but... Well, like you said, it's often not really needed."

5/24/2022 14:28:15 Becks moves to take her seat again and she chuckles " Theron can do just about anything. He's pretty awesome and doesnt hesitate to tell you that either." a fond wink over at him is given.

5/24/2022 14:57:18 Theron chuckles, "Dont listen to Becks I cant do everything...but I take pride in what I do and my place beside the Fenrir." he admits. "Yeah, take care of your car better than my jeep. Its been through hell...of course its not as fast as your car I am sure."

5/24/2022 15:04:14 Jackie chuckles, grinning at that. "No, probably not. She goes fast enough to get into trouble. And usually even out of it again. But I'm guessing your jeep is more durable, even if being thrown by giant monsters isn't a normal road hazard. But anyway, what do people usually get up to around here? I've only been in town for like, less than twelve hours now? What's the day to day like out here in the West?"

5/24/2022 15:15:04 "Well Im probably not the most adjusted guy to ask." Theron jokes, "I tend to do things that garou do. Patrol and so on, train, work the forge...we eat and have fun here, drinking and gatherings. Ive been convinced to go out once in awhile but...we dont live the usual life ya know?"

5/24/2022 15:17:24 Jackie says, "I'm not much of a warrior myself. My help with the 'family business' has mostly been indirect, rather than what you might call front lines."

5/24/2022 15:27:19 Theron chuckles, "Lets be honest, that is a much smarter way to go then what im doing." he mentions. "Fighting beside garou is foolish and only the arrogant and stupid try."

5/24/2022 15:28:47 Jackie cocks her head to the side, looking a bit confused at his attitude. "Then why do you do it?"

5/24/2022 15:31:50 Theron grins, "Because Im arrogant and stupid?" he muses and then says, "I was trained from a young age, kinfolk of Fenrir have fought beside garou for the history of our tribes. Black Eagle mercenaries more recently but in time before. Kin like myself, trained berserkers. I am a dying legacy." be explains.

5/24/2022 15:34:32 Jackie can't help but laugh at that. "Berserker Kinfolk, a dying legacy, huh? Who could have guessed that would happen to such a fine tradition?"

5/24/2022 15:36:40 Theron grins, "Well when you put it that way it makes sense, but that doesnt stop me from being a stubborn ass about it."

5/24/2022 15:41:20 Jackie gets a grip after a few seconds of inappropriate mirth. "Ok, yeah, sorry, not trying to tell you how to live your life. That's... not fun for anyone." Her positive demeanor darkens several shades as she concludes, bringing herself down with the thought.

(Cut to the Caern)

5/24/2022 16:25:33 Reno comes out from the Amphitheater area.

5/24/2022 16:26:01 Jackie stands there for a bit, reading the stone tablet. Then, with a chagrined expression, she reaches into her jacket pocket to turn off her phone. She looks up as Reno comes in with the phone in her hand and a guilty look on her face.

5/24/2022 16:29:32 Pausing to talk to someone, Reno is occupied for a minute. He nods to the man and then back over to see Jackie. He chuckles a bit and makes his way over. "It's alright. There's lickers by the Warder station." Reno explains. "Bear isn't big on technology. Mechanical, not as bad, but if it has a battery, leave it at home."

5/24/2022 16:33:12 Jackie nods, her face still feeling warm. "Right... I'll just go stick it in one of those lockers for now, be right back." She moves quickly to get rid of the device, then pauses a moment longer to also deposit her car's keyfob and a small pocket flashlight. Then another moment as she remembers her watch. She stands at the locker a few seconds longer trying to remember if anything else she was carrying might have a battery, then closes the locker and heads back over to Reno.

5/24/2022 16:36:16 Reno watches this with mild amusement. When she approaches again, Reno tips his hat, "Good afternoon Miss Jackie." Hat set back on his head, "Miss Becks help you get settled in?"

5/24/2022 16:50:30 Jackie makes a side to side shaking moment with her hand. "Ah, not really? She had to take off, I'm not sure why. Work maybe? Is she still working right now, or...? In any case, I found a place unpack my car and stow some things, and take a shower. Of course, I waited until after poking at the sump pump to take the shower. And I think I may have fixed it. There was a jammed up solenoid keeping it from kicking on. I cleaned it out and reset it, we'll see if that holds or there's something worse going on. If so, I may have to take the whole thing apart later." She shrugs at Reno as she finally winds down and takes a breath.

5/24/2022 16:55:05 Reno listens and nods. He grins a bit, "Miss Becks is a trauma nurse. Wouldn't be the first time she's been called back to work." He tries to sound reassuring, "They're a good bunch over there. " HE pauses a moment. "When I first arrived, I had a difference of opinion with them. Took a week or so, but we worked things out. You're family, they'll take care of you."

5/24/2022 17:01:07 Jackie fidgets slightly, looking to check her watch before she remembers she just put it in a locker. "Oh, yeah, I knew she was a nurse, I just meant that with her... That she might already be on maternity leave? But anyway, yeah, I wasn't really expecting a cold shoulder or anything. Just... new place jitters, I guess? I still have a lot of adjusting to do. Speaking of which, this coast does have a sun, right? It's not going to be like this all the time?"

5/24/2022 17:03:28 Reno shakes his head, "No, she refuses to take maternity leave just yet." He gestures to a place to sit, "Take a deep breath and relax. One step at a time."

5/24/2022 17:08:43 Jackie takes a breath, settling herself down onto an old log stool near the fire pit and stretching her legs out in front over her with her booted ankles crossed. "Ok, yeah, relaxing sounds like a good idea. Good plan. Anyway, what do you do around here? Theron was telling me he's some sort of suicide berzerker, a kind of dying breed as he put it?"

5/24/2022 17:11:18 Reno nods, "He is a blacksmith, warrior, and an accomplished sorcerer, if I remember correctly. " He shrugs a shoulder. "I do what I'm asked. Help around with chores, run patrols. I didn't give you my full introduction."

I guess I'm going to have find one of the ones who do the asking at some point, if I'm going to be able to contribute anything meaningful myself. Not really much a warrior myself, as I suppose you might have already guessed?"

5/24/2022 17:26:58 Jackie chuckles loudly. "Yeah, there's a whole lot of family with no drivers licenses back where I came from. Too much of the new ways in them to be concerned about. Until they need to get something or somewhere fast, anyway."

5/24/2022 17:28:16 Reno says, “Not having a job keeps me from living the life of luxury." He gestures up at the sky, "But I also enjoy staring up at that all night "”

5/24/2022 17:31:40 Jackie follows his gaze upwards and is silent for a moment in consideration. "You've got a point. And the night sky never looks as good from the city as it does out here. Assuming, of course, the clouds ever clear up. So... In between the chores and battles, what do people usually get up to out here?"

5/24/2022 17:33:58 Reno mms, "Stonecreek is almost always ready for a party. I go drinking at the Smoke and Barley. " He shrugs a shoulder, "I'm not built for the clubs. The Rage makes it hard to socialize in public."

5/24/2022 17:34:39 Reno adds, "We've got a little tournament in the planning for the whole sept."

5/24/2022 17:43:10 Jackie returns her gaze to Reno. "What's the Smoke and Barley? Like a cigar and soup club or something?"

5/24/2022 17:47:01 Reno ohs, "It is a restaurant owned by one of the Fangs. The back room is private. " He grins widely, "Food and drink is mostly free, just leave a good tip."

5/24/2022 17:51:44 Jackie nods, filing that away. "Ok, I'll have to check it out. Is that downtown somewhere? I still haven't made it into the city proper. I will have to soon to recharge my car though, or the battery's going to bottom out."

5/24/2022 17:54:09 Reno nods, "It's not too far." Reno thinks a moment, "I don't have patrol for a while, want me to show you where it is? Give you a chance to charge the car?"

5/24/2022 17:56:45 Jackie nods, hopping to her feet. "Yeah, that sounds cool. I've got a lot of exploring to do, no real sense in waiting to get started. I guess it doesn't really count as exploring if it's on a tour, but... Well, you know what I mean."

5/24/2022 17:58:38 Reno gets up. "Theron would probably be a better guide than I am." He offers as an alternative, "I spend a lot of time close by. I can show you a few nice places, but they're not in the city." He leads her out, "Don't forget your stuff."

5/24/2022 18:02:48 Jackie stops herself short with a hard step, then pivots herself back to head for the lockers. "Yeah, I wouldn't have gotten very far without my keys. And yeah, as long as we're not going too far before getting near an outlet I should be ok. I can probably get another fifty to sixty miles or so? Or more if the sun ever comes out enough to be worth setting up a solar panel. So what kinds of places do we have outside the city then, besides what I've already seen?"

5/24/2022 18:05:46 Reno waits patiently. "Nature sights, mostly. The beach is nice. You're fine with your charge. We'll get there."

5/24/2022 18:07:12 Jackie catches back up quickly, stuffing her gizmos back into her jacket pockets and fumbling her watch back onto her left wrist. "Alright, sounds cool. Just follow you then?"

5/24/2022 18:09:34 Reno winks, "I'll ride slow so you can pedal and keep up."

5/24/2022 18:11:34 Jackie scoffs energetically, a wide grin crossing her face. "Oh no! The only reason I won't be there five minutes ahead of you is that I have to follow you to know where to go!"

(Cut to Smoke and Barley)

5/24/2022 18:12:58 Reno doesn't take it easy, he's an aggressive rider, but not a superstar. He at least tries to make it interesting for Jackie. He slows though, pulling up in front of the Smoke.

5/24/2022 18:16:12 Jackie follows closely, not falling far behind him the whole trip as long as there's room for her larger vehicle. She's still grinning when she parks and climbs out onto the curb. "Ok, I'll be honest, I expected a little worse riding from you. That was... a highly adequate showing."

5/24/2022 18:17:24 Reno smiles, "Red and I have an understanding. I take care of her, she keeps me off the pavement." He nods and gestures to the Smoke. He opens the door and holds it for Jackie.

5/24/2022 18:21:31 Jackie nods in thanks as she heads in. "Sounds like a pretty fair deal to me."

5/24/2022 18:22:18 Reno walks in behind Jackie and gestures to the private door, "We eat in the back."

5/24/2022 18:24:27 Jackie looks around with interest. "Oh, this is a Churrascaria! Nice, I love these!"

5/24/2022 18:24:48 Reno nods, "It's good too."

5/24/2022 18:26:03 Jackie follows him toward the Members Only area, sniffing the air. "Well ok, I definitely believe you."

5/24/2022 18:27:54 Reno takes off his hat and moves to find a table. "We can talk freely back here, just try not to belt things out at the top of your lungs." Good advice, atleast. He gestures and holds up two, then three fingers. "Umm, what's gonna tickle yoru fancy?"

5/24/2022 18:35:48 Jackie moves to the table with him, letting out a soft whistle as she takes in the decor and setup. Suddenly she feels underdressed in her jeans and jacket outfit. "Wow, this is pretty posh, ain't it. Members means extended family, does it? Because I was expecting something... way more rustic. Uhhhhh... lemme take a look at the menu here..." She chews on her lower lip in indecision for several long moments as she scans her eyes up and down the menu before finally blurting out a decision. "I think, for a first time, I'm going to with the Beef Tenderloin Wrapped in Bacon. Maybe next time the ribs, but definitely not tonight before starting a night out. Because I will make an absolute mess of of myself when I do."

5/24/2022 18:37:35 Reno chuckles, "I'm not dressed up either." Points out. He hangs his hat on the back of the chair. "What the lady said, but go ahead and bring the ribs. Loaded baked potatoe." About that time his TWO triples show up. Must be bourbon. He looks back to Jackie, "Told ya, owned by Fangs."

5/24/2022 18:40:50 Jackie chuckles, still checking out the place from her seat. "Well, I gotta hand it to them, they sure did this one right. Wait, what's going on with the fireplace?"

5/24/2022 18:41:17 Reno grins, "Watch the fire elemental."

5/24/2022 18:42:16 A tiny elemental dances in the eternal flames of the large fire pit. It seems to be merry, bright and high, and within somewhere one can almost see the joy of it as it dances and sings as it eats the logs it it fed.

5/24/2022 18:43:18 Jackie stares for a second before she recognizes what it is. "Oh, shit, that's neat."

5/24/2022 18:45:00 Reno chuckles, "Have to keep things like this quiet though. Or we'll break a lot of rules." 5/24/2022 18:45:10 The fire swirls again, into the shape of a wise, blinking Owl.

5/24/2022 18:48:52 Jackie leans back, sinking into the leather seat with a comfortable sigh. "Well, of course. I'm sure not going to tell anyone. Hell, that's just what I'd need, right? To get kicked out of the nice places my first week in town?"

5/24/2022 18:51:27 Reno laughs, "It takes a lot to get kicked out. Believe me ... I've been tripping over my feet since the day I showed up." He shakes his head, "Just relax, you'll find your rhythem." He tosses back the first drink and makes a small face before breathing and gesturing for a third. "I once packed and drove to the edge of town and stopped. Turned around and came back."

5/24/2022 18:57:56 Jackie sips her water. "Why is that? I mean, why were you leaving? And then not, I guess matters too."

5/24/2022 18:59:36 Reno picks up his second drink. Food is delivered. They are big helpings. "It didn't feel right, too much drama." Reno explains. "Mostly my fault. But I made a promise to someone, and if a Philodox can't keep his word, what good is he?"

5/24/2022 19:04:57 Jackie starts to get to work on her tenderloin, looking a little intimidated by its size but trying to treat it as a challenge. "Family style drama? I kinda figure there's nowhere in the world we can get away from that sort of thing."

Currently, Leif is sitting out by the cook fire while a young wolf chases around a child who is just barely walking. The baby falls down a lot, but the wolf always helps her up. Leif looks like he's freshly bathed and his hair is pulled up and back in several different braids and he's also tending the cook fire.

5/24/2022 22:51:15 Jackie's car rolls back up the road into the valley, gliding quietly into a parking spot on the grass in front of the Tiny Skjol. She steps out of the car, still smelling of red meat and the city. She looks around to see who might be around at this hour.

Then she takes a moment to collect herself, and makes an honest but unpracticed attempt to give George a bow. "Uh, greetings, Elder. He puffs up his chest a little and makes a silly face at the baby, who ALSO has three little braids in her hair. Viking braids. Rar. He grins at George and nods. "I'm going to fight the Dragoness," he teases. "Hope your Island will be okay."

"So, uh, yeah, I just got here from back East, and... I guess the next step is to find a place to settle in, and find a way to contribute, right? Oh, right! I think I may have fixed the pump you were talking about. I fixed one issue, anyway. Time will tell if there are more problems waiting to emerge, the hardware looked a little... well worn."

"Well, I don't want to brag and set unrealistic expectations, but it's rare I run into anything so messed up I can't get it back into working order again. And really, I do want to find a way to pull my weight, but as I was telling Reno earlier, I'm not much of a warrior. I've always done most of my support of the family business indirectly, instead of the front lines. Oh, and I can drive, too! I mean sure, that's not really that impressive, but a lot of folks back home were really, really bad at it, and I'm really, really good at it." She finally winds to a stop, forced to take a break and catch her breath due to biology.

It's ours. So don't worry about THAT part of things." He nods to George and pats his pockets when George pulls out the key and he nods his approval. "Yup. And a Hurry Home. I really need to get some set up for here, but Kinhouse works just as well. I'll have to get all that stuff out and get you your share of things. We take care of the kinfolk around here."

I think it's good odds that I could probably give you a skillfully frightening ride in any vehicle with some juice in it. Ok, maybe not you, Leif. I don't think you'd fit in my car at all. Maybe the back of a pickup?"

I had one of their bullets graze me. Hurt like hell and was a pain to dig out." He runs his arm absently. "There were four trucks total."

He nods to Jackie. "You'll of course not be expected to be an active part of anything like that. Usually when we have planned attacks, we encourage the kinfolk to all stay back, in a safe place, just in case. There's usually a feast after that and no one around here can make chocolate chip cookies worth a damn." He glances sharply over toward one of the cabins. "Just don't tell my mama. She'll whip my ass if I say anything bad about her chocolate chip cookies. Can you make cookies?"

"That's an easy jump. I just need to see both locations. That's all. Transportation is on me, bro." He packs up another couple of burgers and hands them over. "That's it for now. Looking forward to working with you."
