In Scene: Killigrew, Theron, Heidi, Beckett, Evonna, Leif, Detlef, Dalibor, Erin, Ulf, Ben, Tabi, & Taika

Scene Summary: Taika & Kora's friends gather to discuss how best to heal Kora.

Taika called everyone to a predetermined meeting space in a clearing within the deep forest. It is outside of Caern space. There is a fire going within the clearing and Taika is standing there pinching the bridge of his nose. Kora is in her wheelchair, looking utterly depressed. He waits for people to gather as he looks down at his phone.

Ulf and Heidi are among the first to arrive to hear the Maori out, and they stand beside one another near the fire. Ulf has his arm around Heidi's waist, and they quietly greet arrivals as they come but don't make chitchat because this is Taika's deal and he's got something to say. Long distance to Leif: Taika appreciates the warning. Detlef comes trotting up, he seems to be in as good of a mood as usual. His long strides quiet without really trying to be. As he nears the clearing and fire he slows and walks out into view "Evening everyone." he gives a smile to Kora and nods to Taika, Ulf and the others that are gathering. If the Get of Fenris put out a call, Theron is going to answer. The warrior kinfolk arrives and takes a look about before nodding to Taika. "Hey." he greets with a single word, always so talkative of late. Leif doesn't .. think he likes this. Like not at all. But who the fuck is he? Right. He's the Wall. If kinfolk are going, he HAS to go, because he lacks the rank to tell people that this isn't happening. Kinfolk shield. That's Leif.

There is a call and not just any call from Taika and it sounds important, Erin can never turn down such a call so she comes alone at least that's what it looks like and where she come from exactly. She very quietly makes her way towards the fire and gives Ulf and Heidi a little wave though she seems quiet. She looks around and raises a little brow at how things seem are so for now the red head keeps her trap shut. She even shoves her hands in her pockets.

Evonna arrives, having appeared behind a tree and just approached. She is quiet and listening to this tonight. She has stated she is willing to help, but does need to know the plan and wishes to take part in such. She'll find a quite place to sit after acknowledging those here. Killigrew shows up with Leif, hair still wet, dyed an inky black and ruffled up into a spikey mess. She has her bow and quiver over her shoulders, and is wearing boots, marsh striped bdu's, and an olive drab tee. Easy to move in, somewhat blendy, and hides stains really well.

Beckett emerges from the line of trees, drawn by smoke. It was rare for an Uktena to answer the call of the Get, preferring to keep to themselves and their eclectic studies. Their chance meeting at the Wendigo Elder's home had piqued Ghostwalker's interest. Thus, the ranking Garou has arrived to offer his support and spiritual expertise to the Maori in need.

There's no brews tongight. Heidi, the beer maiden didn't bring a cooler or a single lonely bottle. Tonight seems somber, and with serious battle planning comes serious attention making. She lifts a hand to wave to Kora and then smiles a touch as Erin passes her by. Dalibor pads into the area, giving Taika a nod of greeting - and Kora gets a smile. He's always liked her. She's so the opposite of everything he is... outspoken and brazen and funny. He sighs and runs his hands through suspiciously damp hair - revealing a sizable lump that's starting to form on his forehead. He gives the gathering multitude a nod too. "Evening." RP Room 3

Detlef steps over and plops down next to his sister, giving her a grin and nudging her lightly. He doesnt say anything, just waiting to hear what is said.

Taika looks out as everyone comes in and he puts his hands on his hips. As the general murmur of people saying hello grows to a quiet, the whole event being somber as it is, Taika calls out, "Churr all for coming. Before I start, I want to say that I can't ask for you to come with us to the Battleground Realm. Everything about this is going to be bad news. Everything about this says don't do it. But we're going to, and by we - I mean Kora and I. If you come along, I can't guarantee your safety. Fuck, I can't even guarantee my own safety. That being said, the original plan has changed." Taika starts to pace, "We were going to go without Kora, without kin to begin with. We were going to find Black Unicorn and Shaderunner was going to use one of his familiar spirits to bring the healing back to Kora. I don't get it, but if an Elder Theurge says its possible, it is." Sage nod. Taika continues, "Killigrew made something happen today though." And with that, Taika looks to Kora, who stands out of her wheelchair. She had been sitting on her leg - a full leg where it should only be a half leg. Kora stands and walks forward, waving. "It's not permanent. I may fall at any time as I revert. So, I'm going to sit." She starts walking back to sit and she ticks, "Fuck the Garou." Pop. She sits, "Oh, and my brain injury is still here, so wonderful right?" Long distance to Erin: Taika falls over.

Ulf arches an eyebrow at that, but doesn't comment; it's quite a wonder, but this is obviously not the end of the story, so he turns his gaze on Taika and keeps that eyebrow arched as he awaits clarity.

Erin is standing a bit outside of the group listening. She rocks on her heels as she listens looking over to Kora and giving her a smile as she stands up. She looks over to Zoe and then looks back to Taika as she seems to be just quietly listening.

Evonna's eyes grow wider, watching Kora, her hand first to her belt and her weapon and then leans off. She's seen a lot of magic, but this was unexpected. She'll wait to hear more.

Theron furrows his brow, troubled, but he doesnt say a word yet. He looks around the gathered group, mostly the kinfolk. Considering them carefully.

Detlef considers Kora for a moment "Small miracles are still miracles. " he offers a grin to her. Then he looks back to Taika "Even if she can walk or run.. its dangerous to even enter the Umbra for a Kin.. let alone a place as dangerous as the battlegrounds."

Ben smiles, watching as Kora stands, nodding in approval. He looks to Taika, then, ready to act. It's a good cause, and a hell of a trip.

Heidi looks impressed Kora got up! She smiles and looks over to Killi. She gives a thumbs up. A nod of recognition back and then she's listening all over again. At some point her attention wanders over to Beckett, as he is someone new and she hasn't met them yet. She waves over to the Uktena hello.

Leif doesn't look terribly impressed either. He looks WORRIED about the whole thing. He gives Killigrew a pat and makes sure his hair is right. It is! Someone did a good job. He walks over to Erin, takes her by the wrist and puuuuullllllllls her lightly into the group and then resumes his job as being big silent wall.

Killigrew just nods as the shifting she did for Kora is acknowledged. Glancing to Erin, she smiles, then turns back to watching and listening. Keeping half an ear or eye towards the others, trying to get a sense of what might be involved. Writing reality out to disk. Please wait... Reality saved. Thank you for your patience.

Erin wasn't expecting Leif to suddently pull her in and the offs stumbling a little bit as she blinks bitting her lower lip as she comes to stand next to him and Zoe. She rocks though a bit on her feet as she waits to hear more.

Dalibor gives Zoe a sideglance and a smile. She's not the person he met when she first came to Prospect. She's seriously grown in power. She could use a little more maturity, sure, but who couldn't really? ;P And then he pulls the focus back to Taika and Kora. "Dovraga. That is.... wow." He follows the implied train of thought. So, if they don't know how stable/long-lasting the leg fix is... "So, Kora comes with... and that would mean Zoe too, as insurance - da?" Ok, that gets Zoe /ANOTHER/ sideglance, this one worried. He knows she's /VERY/ capable... but he still can worry. I mean they're talking about going to Battleground. It's not Malfeas or the Atrocity Realm... but it's going to be far from easy.

Taika pinches his nose again. "So, now that Kora has a way to come with us, she wants to come with us." He nods to Theron, "Eh, I don't think this is a good idea, but having put her into this position, I feel it is important I respect her wishes - and right /now/ those wishes are that she wants to come and fight along side us." he says the now as if he might be able to persuade her otherwise. He continues, "Shaderunner does not think this is wise. I tend to agree." Kora calls out, "I am a Get of Fenris kinfolk. I am a Maori Warrior, despite what I look like. It is my body. If I want to die in battle, then I die in battle. If Killigrew wishes to come, she can. If not, then I am on my own when the magic runs its course. I know it will." Taika sighs heavily and starts to speak again, "As Shaderunner is not on board for helping us find Black Unicorn - because Black Unicorn would not help us given this state of new facts, Shaderunner offered an alternative - the Get of Fenris brood known as Bragir." Kora ticks, "Put 'em up. Put 'em up. Which one of you first? I'll fight you both together, if you want." Pop. Taika ignores that, "The bragir are healers. They seek those who revel in victory, who sing, who boast, who generally enjoy life. Who enjoy the Fenrir life. We will be going to the Battleground Realm to fight, to enjoy it, and to hopefully find a Bragir that will bless Kora by healing her. If you are out, say so and I will not hold it against you. If you don't think you can enjoy combat, or at least enjoy the bonds of Family coming together for one of its own, go now and there will be no hard feelings. We will understand." With that, he waits.

Beckett's searching gaze leaves the crowd the moment Taika begins to speak. The Uktena listens intently, waiting for the Maori to finish. "It puts my mind to ease that you give the Umbra's realms the respect they deserve. He is right though," Beckett says with a nod to Detlef who had just spoken of how the Penumbra alone could be dangerous enough for a Kin. "If Shaderunner has proposed this course of action, I would not contest it. There is... another way. I know that the spirits of Fenris's Brood respect strength above all else. Unicorn's shadow is... different. A war spirit he might be, but he is a nuanced God. If you have made up your mind to walk this path and only this path, I can assist with the Rites to ensure you safe passage. It is not just the realm itself that is wrought with danger, but getting in and out." Beckett tilts his friend. "I know of a spirit that may help... a brother to Black Unicorn in Unicorn's brood."

Leif's brow just jumps upward. "No offense, Kora, but if a kinfolk wanted to commit suicide, there are other ways to do it besides getting everyone killed." And then to Taika, he says, "If an ELDER THEURGE says this is a bad idea, then it's BEYOND a bad idea." He scrubs his hand along his face a time or two and leans down to whisper to Killigrew.

Detlef listens closely and quietly, nodding respectfully to Beckett, his brow furrowed, as he listens now. His eyes mostly on Kora though. Leif nods to Killigrew and then takes hold of her upper arm, fiercely whisperwhispering back and forth at her

Evonna asks, "I am not a Godi, but why would a spirit help heal Kora if you have found another way? Even if it is temporary? It does not show the same need." Maybe she is just missing something here.

Theron considers and then speaks up, his eyes on Kora mostly as he begins, "I understand." he exhales, "Noone understands more than I do what it means to be a kinfolk fighting beside his garou bretheren...but, even I would need to consider this very carefully." he looks at the other kinfolk. "Ive traveled the umbra realms beside Frostbite, I met Nerigal himself and asked for his favor...and still Id hesitate." he looks from Kora to Taika then, "I dont think this is wise." he says a bit pained to admit it.

Erin looks around quietly and looks down at the ground then looks to Leif as he speaks to Zoe. She bites her lip "I am not familier with other realms but I will go with whatever plan, weather it is to go or not, you can count Kringer and me" she says a little softly still rocking back and forth.

Dalibor sighs heavily. The Bragir sounds like it would get along great with him. But that's a battle for future Dal to deal with. Getting there is the first struggle. "I agree this is... not an ideal plan. But it sounds workable. And ultimately, if Kora /CHOOSES/ to join us on a quest for her own healing... what are we going to do? Hold her against will? That path sounds worse to me."

Killigrew grimaces faintly, glancing to Theron, then purses her lips, looking to Kora. "I can buy you some more time, by resetting the shift. But..." She sucks on her lipring. "It is best if kin do not go. Theron's an amazing fighter, and if he's hesitant to go, then I ought not go either." It chafes, though, the kinfolk shifting her weight and looking unhappy.

"It means you're going to die, Erin. That's what it means." Leif stops his whispering long enough to glare at Dalibor. "Why are we intentionally putting kinfolk in harm's way? Even THERON is hesitant to go there. Theron." He looks at Theron then. "Theron. If we are ALSO keeping kinfolk from dying, what are the chances that ANY of us is going to make it out alive if we do this?" WHen Killigrew speaks, he looks IMMENSELY relieved that at least SOMEONE here has some sense.

Detlef pats Evonna on the knee as he rises slowly "Can I speak honestly, and you both know that I speak from a place of honor and love for both of you?" he asks Kora and Taika.. "Or would you rather me simply not say anything?" Evonna shakes her head, "I've seen Adren go off on such an journey, and athro. They did not come back. While I am for a challenge and doing all in our possibility to help Kora, help family. Do we do it just because we can and die trying? Do we take more time, be smarter about it, prepare, and then go? Do we risk the very lives of those we seek to protect?" She is taking this all in, asking the hard questions.

Erin shrinks a little when Leif speaks to her and she glances up at him and takes a breath and gives a little nod. She just fall silent.

Taika listens to Leif, "Shaderunner said seeking Black Unicorn's help would fail if we brought kinfolk into the Battleground Realm. He said the Bragir would be a better option." Looking to Becket, Taika asks, "And what option do you have Beckett? I am open to all options that don't involve my sister wanting to get us killed." Kora chimes in for Evonna, "Because Killigrew should not be beholden to come heal me every morning. As her magic can fail at any moment, I am still just as much of a burden, more so in fact because I could be doing something that puts me in danger that I wouldn't otherwise have been doing." She swings a hand out and pops. Taika answers too, "And because we've seen Killigrew get stuck as a ferret. Her magic isn't perfect. I don't want Kora to be stuck as a fish or something because luck wasn't on our side that day." Taika waves for Detlef to speak, "Please, I wish to hear all and appreciate the honesty." Kora huffs a deep breath, but nods yes. The crippled kinfold does ask Leif, "Are you afraid to die Leif? Because I'm not. I die a million deaths each day in this chair. On my brother's back. Death would be a welcomed relief from the pain in my legs - because I FEEL both legs each day. We are not asking you to come with us." She ticks, "I can't control their fear. Only my own." Pop.

"No. We are not doing this," Ulf says finally after listening to protests, shaking his head and holding up a hand. "The objections are correct, Taika. If the goal was 'this is how Kora wants to die, so let's take her to the Battleground,' then fine, that would be a Make-a-Wish dream I'd be willing to assist with. But if the goal is to heal her? This is a bad plan. Shaderunner says so, and so do I. We are not doing this; it is not the way to curry the favor of healing spirits, and it is not a place any Kinfolk should go." He sighs, rubbing his face, and adds, "You can argue that you will go with or without us, Taika, Kora; I will argue that we will stop you."

Dalibor eyes Leif and then Ulf. "Should we use rope or handcuffs on Kora? I'm thinking handcuffs... knots are too risky. She might get loose." He takes a deep breath. "I get it. But what options do we have? If she /WANTS/ to go and is /CAPABLE/ of going... and if she can't be talked out of it..." He turns to give Kora and Zoe an insrutible look. Stubborn Kin be stubborn. "Then the only choices are take her or hold her against will. Make no mistake - that would be making prisoner of own Kin." He sighs. "I don't like it either... but what else can we do?" Detlef nods to Taika and steps forward thinking for a moment "I love my brothers and sisters that I see here.. every one of you. Including You Kora and you Taika, to do this. There are ways unexplored yet. If Zoe's magic can heal it short term.. perhaps greater magic is available.. perhaps her strength can grow. Perhaps we can speak to spirits about ways as yet unknown. But we do know that the Battlegrounds is the home of every battle fought in history.. From great victory's to unwinable stands. Starvation and Destruction.. A strong pack can easily fall in that realm.. To go in .. the best hope Kora could have.. would be to die quickly.. not to be healed. I will support any effort to heal Kora.. I will go above and beyond for that.. because I love you both.. But this is not an act of wisdom or hope.. but instead an act of desperation and pain. Be strong Kora.. Endure while a good answer is found.. and know we will endure with you gladly."

"Black Unicorn is not known to be merciful to beings he sees as impure. More than War, he is a Spirit of Justice," Beckett says before looking over to Erin. "The deeper regions of the Umbra are not to be taking lightly. They are talking about going to a realm where battle is endless and without reprieve. Not only that... there are places where the Wyrm has chewed. It is so easy to slip out of the Battlegrounds and into the Atrocity realm. For there were so many atrocities committed in past wars." Beckett looks away from Erin and back to the crowd. "If Black Unicorn would not help then there is another. There is no need to steal what a Spirit would not give or not allow you to earn." The Uktena clears his throat and takes a half-step forward. Among voices of dissent among the Fenrir, the outsider tries to provide some measure of council. "Amongst Unicorn's brood there is another great Spirit. This being is only known as The Mishapen One. A great and powerful being in their own right, the Spirit I speak of is a patron diety of all things that would be cast aside as malformed and dismissed as ugly. This Spirit is said to be able to reveal the true Power of things that would be wrongly presumed weak because of a twisted outward shell."

Evonna shakes her head again. "There has to be another way. It begins, sadly, with asking Zoe to stop performing the healing. That is tough, and seem inhumane, but it is a drain on Zoe." She adds, "I will be there anytime to assist Kora until we can find that other way."

Leif shakes his head at Kora. "No Miss Kora. I'm not afraid to die, but I will be goddamned if I die for a stupid reason." Then Ulf is speaking and he falls silent, putting a reassuring hand on Erin's shoulder and then eyes Dalibor. "She can't get there if we don't take her," he says simply and shrugs. "I don't like to tell anyone that they're being fucking stupid, but.. Miss Kora, you're being fucking stupid and you, Taika, are DOUBLY stupid because you fucking know better." Then he shakes his head at Dalibor. "No one's going," he says in agreement with Ulf and then the poor exasperated Modi tosses his hands in the air. "Find. A fucking. Bear. They. Can fucking heal her brain and her fucking body." He doesn't raise his voice though. Just the opposite. He slows WAAAAAAAAAAAAY down.

Heidi looks up as Ulf remains standing. He made his word known. The others are also sharing their view and then she looks over at Beckett with an upnod of her chin. "Finally, another option."

Ben frowns a bit. "Let us think on this, yes? If the Godi say this is not the way, we need to ensure we listen to their wisdom. I will support action to heal Kora, but we need to look to other options. There are other spirits, there are other options - always. We need not rush in where the likelyhood of failure and death is high." A smile to Kora. "I can empathize with what you go through, and I can only imagine your strength in doing so. We ask for patience. We as for time to plan this fully. You were just made whole for the moment, today." A nod then to Beckett.

"Why would we have to imprison her? Its not like she can go to the Battleground realm on her own." Theron retorts to Dalibor. "Understand...its not just the dangers of the realm, battle after battle...for a kinfolk? The real danger could be the travel...if we get lost in the umbra...we cant just sidestep." when Beckett speaks up he shuts up and listens, option three...here we go... Killigrew is silent, looking torn between standing with Kora and doing the smart thing. She stuffs her hands in her pockets, toying with some rocks in the left hand one, brows furrowed. "Working the magic is no problem." She just might eat the fenrir out of house and home. And she does not speak about the ferret incident. Nope.

Heidi looks over at Leif and then to Beckett, the visiting Uktena. "Is this true? A bear might have the gifts to restore, Kora? Because if that's true, then someone better ante up quick to make friends with one. We are a large group. If this can be done, perhaps a united voice to seek one out would be wise."

"As everyone is clearly saying while talking over themselves... yes, it is as simple as disallowing her to go into the Umbra. Which can be done by ensuring no one helps and by making certain spirits on the other side do not allow it. I am not above asking spirits to reinforce the Gauntlet everywhere you go, Calls Forth the Wyrm; I will not let you and your sister die a fool's death." Ulf scowls then, rolling his eyes, and points at Leif. "As he says; the Gurahl know healing arts we daren't dream of. Instead of this... pseudo-plan... of going to the Battleground to... what? Curry favor with battlefield healer spirits? I do not understand this plan; at best it sounds like deciding you hate your hairdo so you burn off all of your hair with a torch. This is all so unnecessary."

Erin listens quietly and looks from one person to the next and then takes a rather deep breath as she rocks before she bites her lip "We haven't tried to see if Fae magic could help heal Kora, we have not tried" she offers up. Her gaze looks up as she looks to Leif when he puts her hand on her shoulder and then she looks over.

Dalibor shakes his head. "Then fine. Prisoner it is then, apparently."

Taika listens to Ulf. He listens to Detlef and Evonna and Leif and Ben and everyone else willing to speak. Taika finally speaks up when Heidi does, "It is not as simple as asking someone to heal her. Shaderunner could take her and heal her." Taika starts to tear up as emotions rush in, "I made her this way. I have to be the one to heal her. It is my responsibility, not someone else's! I would not steal it from a spirit or beat it out of one that is unwilling, but if we can impress one into doing the deed, then that is what I will do." Kora looks away. Taika takes a deep breath and looks to Beckett, "This Mishapen one. Where would it be found and what would it be looking for in chiminage?"

Detlef considers Taika "Then dont give up on her and send her to her death." he then looks to Kora "And you dont cast your life at the feet of your brother.. There is help.. there are ways.. Bears or Magic or Spirits, I dont know .. but this /isnt/ a way.

Erin takes her hand out of her pocket and rubs face a little bit looking like she might say something but then she sighs softly and just stays quiet and gives a little shrug.

"We already know a bear. Tabi, she works with the forestry service on the fire jumper crews." Killigrew says softly. "Taika. Not every wrong we do can be undone by our hands. The best intentions pave the way to hell, and that's a saying for a reason. How would you feel if she died and you came back?"

Heidi stands up now. She doesn't have her Momma Spoon on her so she uses her index finger. "Taika!" Her voice is a bit sharp. "Now you listen to me right now. Are you listening? Get over yourself. You take your sister to Shaderunner right now, and bury your stupid pride and guilt and GET THIS DONE." She is no nonsense Kitchen Momma right now. "If you have someone who can heal Kora, then you are wasting everyone's time here tonight. Instead of the terrible accident that happened in the past, you could be creating 1, 2, 3..." she counts everyone at the fire. "Everyone's freaking accident all over again. Do you want that? No. Of course you don't. You do not have to earn shit or prove to show penance. You've already done that your whole adult life caring for Kora. The time for guilt is done. Finished. Ended. Finis. Finale! THE End!" She looks at him with wide eyes.

Evonna is just about to speak, when Taika talks to Beckett. But then Heidi rises and says everything and then some that she was considering, and all she can do is softly clap for Heidi and stand with her.

Theron opens his mouth then looks to Heidi, shuts up and looks to Taika and Kora.

Ulf steps up to put a hand on Heidi's shoulder, then looks at Taika and says, "She's right." That's it.

Ben nods after Heidi's comments. "Taika, we love you brother. We love Kora. Let's do this the right way, so no more pain has to be brought down. We can make this right. All of us."

"I am close with one of the Gurahl," Beckett says to Heidi, "that sounds like something perhaps one of their Elders could do. Unfortunately for us, and everyone else, there are few Gurahl. The world is in need of healing, always. Tabi is another bear I know... but she is also young." He frowns sadly. There were simply never enough bears. He looks up to Taika, a look of pleasant surprise on his face. "The Mishapen One is said to travel through many realms. This being favors the shade of thick ancient forests. Pangaea... the Children of Gaia Homelands... and other lands. For a major request, he will likely ask you to come to the aid of beings who are being unfairly judged. Considering the care you show your sister, I believe he'll show you favor. This spirit does not abide any form of cruelty." The Uktena slips a palm into the pouch at his side. He steps up to offer Taika an ugly looking rock. "Sometimes problems don't have easy answers. The Mishapen One might not be able to fix Kora's body, but he could ease her mind and help her find her own unique Power." Beckett dips his chin to the rock in a nod. "The Spiritual Correspondences for The Mishapen One are things with ugly exteriors and inner beauty. You and anyone seeking out this Spirit should smear mud on your face to 'disfigure' yourself symbolicly." After he offers his advice he takes a step back to allow the gathered Get to have a more familial moment with each other.

Erin looks at the floor as if looking for some mud or something as she looks towards the others. She is super quiet as she is rocking on her heels.

Theron nods a bit further, "I think you have seen that you have the support of the tribe and your family." he tells Taika, "We are with you...we just need a winning plan." he assures.

No matter who else was talking, Taika's gaze snaps to Heidi and her finger wagging. He listens and growls. Not at the embarassment, not at her chiding, but because the words strike close to home and they ring true. And the truth has a way of hurting like nothing else can. He shuts down completely. Kora pipes up though, "I said take me to Journey from the start. It takes the lot of you being forced into a corner where I might get you all killed or get myself killed to give me what I wanted in the first place." She doesn't tick and Taika doesn't respond. When he stays silent, Kora's hand goes to her wheelchair and tigtens. "Taika." No response. "Taika. Whanau!" Taik snaps back and looks to Kora as she says to everyone, "And what of this Mishapen one?"

Detlef quietly backs up to beside Evonna again and places a hand on her shoulder lightly, his usually happy face somber.

"I... think that asking the patron of the misshapen and malformed to fis a disabling injury is like asking a farmer for assistance paving over cropland," Ulf replies with a shrug, shaking his head. "I appreciate Ghostwalker's thoughtfulness, but... it is a backwards notion. If you need healing, you seek healers, not advocates for loving your existing injuries."

Heidi crosses over to where Taika is standing and she gets in front of him. She does his Wapa Wapa Maori Hongu flare up pose, and then embraces him tight! She bumps her forehead to his. "We are doing this now. We got you." She calms her voice. "We got you." She says out loud to the group. "WE FORGIVE YOU!" She chants, "Everyone repeat afer me. You are forgiven." She looks to Kora. "Kora?" She then looks to the group. "With me. I forgive you. We're doing this. Say it. We're doing this. Your whole family stands with you tonight. We're doing this." Momma Spoon has spoken.

Beckett nods to Ulf. "You are correct. The Mishapen One would not 'fix' Kora... but he would take away the pain and help her accept herself. I, personally, am wary of spirits that offer a solution that sounds too good to be true." He smiles a little as Heidi calls in a huddle. Long distance to Ulf: Taika snickers and OOCly notes that the Mishapen could have worked towards an idea I had. I thougt about apping her as a Mage kinfolk, but I recently heard they are not allowed anymore...so having the Mishapen one cause Kora to Awaken where she could heal herself isn't going to happen methinks.

Killigrew lifts her voice to join with Heidi's, following the mama-wuffs lead, moving to find one of Taika's shoulders to rest a hand on and squeeze tight, giving him an affectionate little shake, then sidestepping to make room if others join and it becomes crowded.

Detlef speaks softly but clearly "There is nothing for me to forgive, but much love for us to offer , full acceptance of both of you as you are, and as you want to be. Let us go to Shaderunner, or one of the other elders of the sept.. see what they may offer.. who might help."

Ben nods, moving closer. "I forgive you, Taika. I have no anger against you, but I forgive you. You have to forgive yourself." He says, honestly.

Theron comes over and clamps a hand on the shoulder of Taika, "I have nothing to forgive but if forgiveness you seek, you should have it. You are forgiven."

Erin joins in with the others but she doesn't come forth when people go hug Taika. She says right by Leif with her hands in her pockets.

Tabi slips into the area, a... 'little' late. But better late than never, right? She waves and pads over to Erin, giving a quick hug. "Sorry I'm running late. Work's still kinda recovering from the blackout." She pauses. "What I miss?"

Erin can't help but jump when Tabi sneaks up behind her and gives her a hug. She gives her a little hug back before shoving her hand back into her pockets "Hmmm a lot" is best she can answer then gives her a shrug.

Taika is approached and flinches at Heidi's touch for but a second. His eyes snap up and take hers in and then the tension flows out of him little by little as hand upon hand are placed on him. Kora stands and walks over too. She places her hand on Taika's shoulder and says, "Of course I fucking forgive you Whanau." The moon comes out from beind a cloud and single ray of reflected light shines down from the moon into the clearing. Taika will play this moment over and over in his mind later as he swears he hears a females voice whisper something to him and his tension drains out entirely and he slumps, his weight leaning into those with their hands on him. Luckily his weight goes towards Theron. And he sleeps. Kora sighs, "Oh for the love of Gaia..." and then she screams as her legs return to normal and she starts to fall.

Detlef isnt crowding in, but seems to be part of the crowd, watching quietly at the moment. At the acceptance of forgiveness he smiles just a little. he glances over hearing Erin jump, and smiles seeing Tabi.

Tabi darts forward, a little slower than she might have been during the summer, but still pretty fast. Peeps are collapsing - that tends to get the medics attention. Though, of course, others are closer and are going to make ther catches. But she's bringing up the rear to start doing the EMT thing.

Heidi catches Kora in that second when everything is going haywire up front. "A little help here!" If Tabi comes in she can absolutely hold her weight, thanks to all the Mr. Miyagi weight training and running around the lake every morning. If Tabi assists, it's possible she can get her back into the wheelchair. "What just happened? Did he fall asleep? Kora, is this normal?" Theron shifts his hand and quickly catches Taika, the kinfolk is stronger than he looks and he looks strong as it is. "Easy my friend...easy." he murmurs.

There's a curse from Killi as the shift fades out and the pair both go down. Faster hands than her keep Taika and Kora from hitting the decks. "Easy, Kora, it's just the fade." Of course, she has no idea what her normal body has, pain-wise, to reckon with. But after a respite, it's easy to imagine it would be a shocking burst of pain. "Do you want me to work another shift, or...?"

Tabi zeroes in on helping Heidi with Kora - it's good being a massive lump of muscle sometimes. The EMT thing can wait for a few more moments while they get peeps down safely. "What the fu...?" And now she starts to track the crazy moment. Wait, how /WAS/ Kora standing? That question can wait, probably.

Ben is there to help as needed, using his larger frame to offer assistance. Support, catching, carrying - whatever is needed. "I think it's... maybe emotional release? Imagine the burden he'd put on himself?" He comments, assisting Theron with Taika.

Ulf was totally hugging, too. Fine. And then there's falling and flailing and... you know what? Ulf just steps back and gets the hell out of the way. Because in a big RP scene, everybody writes poses to do stuff but not everyone reads them. Like right now? Ulf could grab Heidi's butt. You don't know; you didn't even read this. /She/ probably didn't read it. But he didn't grab her butt. He didn't grab /anything/. He is helping OOCly by not getting in the way.

Evonna is part of the hug, but totally cannot think oocly right now because other stuff happened which doesn't pertain to this scene or sphere, and she will just leave it at that, but appreciates Ulf's grasp of using a lot of funny metaposing and breaking the 4th wall, so is adding this because he brought a smile to her otherwise sad face.

Taika makes a slight sound as Theron catches him. That sound is 'ulf', the sound of wind escaping the lungs as if the were full of HOT AIR. ;p The Maori is fine. He's breathing, but he is just out cold sleeping. He might even start snoring. Kora on the other hand is screaming and grabbing at her legs because Killi is right. Pain SUUUUUCKs when it is gone and comes back. Were Taika is the epitome of peace, Kora is inconsolable.

From afar, Erin has Heather's balm "do you know what that does? You paged Erin with 'Nope?'

Detlef stands back for the moment not wanting to rush into the crowd who have both Taika and Kora well in hand. he isnt a healer but he does look concerned.

Erin pages: in coming Erin pages: This cantrip has two uses: it can either mend that which is broken, or it can break something by expanding upon tiny imperfections in the object. The caster can heal or break anything, although certain objects may require an extra expenditure of glamour and/or Willpower.

System: Almost any realm can be used in conjunction with this art. The realm used is determined by the person or object to be healed or harmed. If the caster uses scene realm to spread the damage over a large area ( or several persons ), the total damage is equally distributed. Heather balm heals one health level per success. It might require more successes to heal a nonliving object than a living object. For Holly Strike, one health level of damage is caused for each success earned. When this art is used on people, weird, jagged lacerations appear on random parts of the body.

Erin pages: She fixes anything that is broken

"..." The Uktena blinks, regarding whatever it was that had just happened with a look of confusion. "What." His near mirthful expression shifts though, immediately suspicious of the strange moment of serendipity. He'd just been in the middle of explaining to Ulf that he would be correct to believe what he did about The Misshapen One but to always be wary of Spirits who offer solutions that seem too easy. Now... sudden fainting spells and moon madness. "Odd... we're not at a crossroads." Kora's wailing keeps Beckett from delving too deeping into his own mind. "Do you have anything to soothe her pain?" He asks Tabi, reaching into his side bag to pull out what looks like some chocolate candies. Like any decent Uktena, Beckett always had Medicine on hand. He stands ready to assist the bear, approaching the spot where Taika and Kora had fallen.

Erin pages: I have the glamour and will to lower my diff to 4 and if there is time I can use a power 5 bunk too so..

"Kora." - "KORA. I need to know if you want me to shift you again." Killi insistent on having consent, especially since now they know the pain will rush back in like this and be fucking awful.

Theron eases Taika down to lie down on the ground as Tabi approaches, the kinfolk is a warrior not a healer ao he steps back then to let others take over.

Leif ain't huggin' no one. Not tonight. He's kinda grumpy about shit, and also I missed a whole bunch of stuff because of stupid and I'm grumpy too and also smacking Heidi on the butt.

Heidi can shake spoons and be bossy. What she can't do is deal with solving Kora's screaming. She looks helpless as they get her in the chair and she looks at the sea of faces for help. "What can we do?" She's with Theron on this one, and decides to step back to let Tabi, Ulf, Killi, and Beckett handle the situation. She rubs the back of her neck worriedly and looks to where Taika is passed out.

Tabi nods, helping maneuver Kora back into her chair. "I think I've still got stuff in my kit from Florida. Anything I should know? Anything that might interact with meds?" She already darting back for her abandonned ruck as she asks. Multi-tasking, Baby!

Ulf does /not/ rush to help Kora. In fact, he stays where he is, and states clearly, "I can heal fresh injuries. I cannot heal /pain/. But...." He looks to Tabi, who is already stepping forward at Beckett's suggestion, and nods. "Again. Look to the Gurahl, when we are fortunate enough to have them. While there are few enough of them, we know or know of /some/. And that is who we should seek for the true healing."

<---======##====================[ Dice Roll ]=====================##======---> Erin rolls Stamina + Actor vs 6 for 7 successes. 2 3 5 +6 +6 +7 +9 +9 +10 +10 <-------------=============++++++++++++++++++++++++=============-------------> Sent to: Erin and Taika

Ben shakes his head ruefully. "No, I can ignore pain - but I cannot grant that to another." He says, sadly. His eyes remain on Kora. "If you want to squeeze my hand?" He offers, uncertain of how to proced at the moment.

Erin pages: Just trying to heal the pain if you go with it more I leave that up to you.. But that was even at a diff of 6 Erin loses one Magical Essence Erin loses one Magical Essence

You paged Erin with 'Yeah that should be enough to fix her I'd think heh? Definitely for the pain at the very least. <---======##====================[ Dice Roll ]=====================##======---> Erin rolls Willpower vs 6 for 3 successes. 2 2 3 4 +6 +7 +10 <-------------=============++++++++++++++++++++++++=============-------------> Sent to: Erin and Taika

Erin takes a really deep breath and steps back muttering something under her breath she looks like she is leaving as she is heading towards the woods. But instead of leaving she reaches up and takes a branch of one of the trees she begins to slowly hop and mutter as she starts to return. She waves the branch around like a crazy person and all her words are in whispers as she heads back to the group and towards Kora, when she reaches the woman she actually will push anyone out of her way to touch Kora as she runs the branch over her and over her legs and then snaps it in half. For anyone that will sense it there was magic done. She looks to Kora "I don't know what that will do but it should at least help with the pain" she looks around her and then stands kissing Kora in the forhead and she steps away as if she just didn't do anyting at all if anyone notices her hand is also bleeding.

They say when you lose a limb that the tension in that limb can still be felt. Kora is grabbing at the end of her stump and squeezing tightly. The words from Killigrew and Ben go unanswered because...pain. As you grow older, you learn to deal with pain. Things that would have hurt as you were younger are provided perspective and therefore become background noises in terms of pain. Unfortunately, it works the other way too. Going from not having pain to having it all come flooding back at once intensifies what she normally can bare. And then crazy Erin comes and touches her with a stick and her pain is gone. She is still missing a leg and everything, but the pain is GONE. Tears still stream down her face, but she looks around and grabs Ben's hand. "Sorry," she says sheepishly.

From afar, Erin smiles "It is your call what you do or what you want to do with it.. i'll go with whatever :)

Heidi looks at Ben as he offers to hold Kora's hand. It's a super nice gesture during a hard time. Her eyes go to Erin as she comes in with that branch and her eyes widen. "Whoah, was that magic?" And it worked! Now that Kora is settled, she walks around to see where Taika is being handled by the medics. Gawker she is at the moment.

"My packmate is Gurahl," the Uktena sighs with his own edge of grumpiness. Beckett was over by Tabi soon enough trying to help. He allows the bear to do the more hands on work while opening up his bag in preparation to assist her much in the same way he assisted his packmate. Inside there were several baggies of traditional medicnes made from local flora. "Does she have any food allergies? These chocolates are canabis infused. CBD leaning. They've been Awakened, too. I'd hate to make things worse--" He cuts off to watch as Erin pokes Kora with a stick. "Uh."

Ulf blinks, eyebrows going up as Erin does her hocus pocus hokey pokey, and then it /works/. He frowns, running a hand through his hair, and declares, "That was some weird-ass shit."

Tabi opens her ruck and rummages. For once the freaking medkit hasn't sunk to the very bottom. Yay. She tears it open and grabs a syringe and vial. She looks Kora over, making some mental calculations on rough body weight. The tricks you learn riding in ambulances. She pulls the cap off the syringes needle, fills the syringe, does the whole *tap* *tap* thing and adjusts the plunger until some painkiller spurts out. Not going to kill the Kin with air bubbles. That'd be bad. "Kora,, this is gonna sting a bit..." Though probably less than what's making her scream currently "...but it'll start to feel better pretty damn quick." If she's gauged her weight right, of course. She pauses as she sees the tail end of Erin doing her thing. She's seen that trick before, or a variation of it. She pauses for a moment to see if it's done the trick - or if she still needs to get some painkillers in the Kin. She gives Erin a grin as Kora falls quiet. She waves the redhead over. If she's not going to be any help with Kora, she's at least gonna make sure Erin's cuts get cleaned up. And so she starts pulling out some antiseptic wipes.

Ben smiles to Kora, nodding and shrugging as she takes his hand. "Nothing to apologize for, Kora. I am sure that hurt like hell." He comments, kneeling down to allow her to hold his hand easier, if needed. A nod to Tabi, still confused by what Erin did. Rite of Cleansing? Stick? Magic? So weird. Killigrew backs up out of the confusion, looking over at Ulf and edging in that way, dropping her voice real low to whisper to him, looking a little pale.

Beckett shrugs and offers Kora a cannabis chocolate anyway because he figures that she'd appreciate it anyway. He then peers at Erin and then examines the painkillers Tabi had on hand.

Detlef frowns a little bit as he watches ,not sure exactly what is going on, and trying to generally stay out of the way of it.

Erin went to hide behind Leif as she looks towards the woods grumbling a little bit as she looks at her hand using the wall to hide her for now at least. Someone is being super stubborn again.

Leif is wall. Big wall. He stands, watches, waits, hides tiny little spider kin. That sort of thing

Heidi calls to Erin, "This is a whole new outlook to the phrase.. /shake a stick at it!/" It's humorous, in a tense situation and she grins. Then to the Dr. 1, Dr 2, and Medicine Mand 3. "Is it alright if Ben or Leif carries Taika back home now? It might be good to get them back to their cabin to rest."

The Uktena also helps himself to a couple of his own chocolates because why not. It was one of those nights.

Ulf puts a hand on Zoe's shoulder and nods, looking at her with sympathy. "I believe you," he says soothingly, taking a deep breath. "But this is why we do not leap before we look. So I will ask you, Zoe Killigrew, as a serial blind leaper, to please stop experimenting on Fenrir or in Fenrir territory, and instead /take things slowly/." No malice; just the patient request of a godhi.

Tabi quirks an eyebrow at Erin. Fine. If Mohammed won't come to the mountain... the Mountain Guardian goes to the Kin. Putting the syringe back in the kit and taking a packet of antiseptic wipes, she gets up and goes to Erin. "Hand."

Taika continues to sleep and shortly there after succombs to over-exertion and just a fucking ducky day to begin with and sleeps too. Killigrew blinks up at Ulf, then shrugs out from under his hand, turning to walk away, stung by the words.

Erin is defnately hiding, perhaps expecting to be in some trouble for just waving a branch on poor Kora and snapping it or pushing people aside. She jumps when Tabi finds her beside the wall and groans and gives Leif a push and a bit of a angry grumble for not being a better wall from mamma bear. She sighs and offers her hand to Tabi. WHY ARE YOU TOUCHING LEIF'S BUTT, ERIN? GOSH. Handsy! Leif looks down and behind him and his brow arches at Erin. Like... oh. Right. She was hiding. Oops! He watches Killigrew and Ulf and his brow arches even a little bit more, but.. like.. fuck this day. Really. It started out pretty nice, now he's confused and kinda grumpy Tabi cleans up Erin's wound, knowing from experience, that it'll be a minor thing. Or at least it was last time.
