Money in the Bank
Shit hits the fan
IC Date August 11th, 2020
IC Time 4 pm
Players Viviana Kameshi Goldie Jackson as ST
Location Blue Ruin
Spheres Wyrm, BSD

Goldie had left the bar earlier in the afternoon to go meet Pax at the Mission for a catch-up on her progress, but she left around six to return to the bar and catch up with Jackson, as she'd planned to do before leaving, to talk to him more about the opening and to catch up with Viviana about her "uniform."

If a camera panned to watch her exit, it would see the cowboy boots, fringed-top, daisy duke wearing twenty-something exit a door in the Mission looking grumpy -- not angry -- just grunty, uncomfortable, in a bad fucking mood, frustrated. She passes through a doorway and disappears, reappearing a second later at Magadon, storming down the halls, somehow getting angier moment by moment.

On the curb outside, she'd call an Uber and torture the driver who shows with a backseat show where he was -- pulling over -- allowed to look, but not to touch. Then that wall broke down and he was allowed to touch. Then that wall broke down and she was fucking a stranger for a ride -- to the building that they were parked in front of, actually.

Once done, she popped out, slamming the door aggressively so that her whole body and all the fringe swayed LEEEEEEEFT to put force behind it. "Fuck, I feel better," she sighs, leaving all her pent up frustrations in the backseat. The brunette takes a moment to check herself, rings, rock in the pocket, gun in the purse, wallet, phone, and then heads into the bar.

Its pretty empty yet -- the Blue Ruin is -- light staff and no customers, so she doesn't fuss overmuch about her attire not fitting dress code. She rolls up behind the counter and grabs the ashtray she'd stowed earlier, and fumbles around in drawers and cubbies behind the bar to find a pack of smokes.

After the afternoon smoke with Jackson, Viviana decided to wander about the city until it was time to go back. She arrives back at the bar in her grey cotton form-fitting dress and converse shoes, her bag hanging from her hand. Once inside, she lets her eyes adjust and spots Goldie at the bar. "Hey love" She calls to her as she takes her seat.

Since there was no way Kameshi was dressing as a flapper, she decided to see what she had that would sort of fit the era, but maybe she missed the mark. Since this is Goldie's big day, Kameshi decide to try to make herself less conspicuous, and went with the black hair, so she'll blend in with the darkness more, in fact her attire is very dark, maybe it will work.

Goldie pops up from behind the bar with a pack of Marlboro Red's she'd actually purchased to carry around as a back-up for Kurt and aggressively twists away the cellophane or wrapping or what the fuck, so she can shake one free from the pack. A lighter is already curled in her palm, held in place by a thumb. She lights it quickly, takes a puff and expels a stream of smoke at Viviana when she comes into view, "Hey chica, how're you doing?" she asks, sounding instantly relieved by that first drag. Her purse is laid on the counter, splayed open like it'd been rummaged through for the lighter she found first, and the handle of a pistol is visible just where the grip is showing a little leg. She takes another quick drag off the cancer stick and then murmurs, "Thanks for coming back."

Kameshi is spotted, sort of, all dark and unKameshi looking, mostly because she picks up on movement along the periphery of the dimly lit room. She doesn't say anything, but waits for the figure to make their approach, looking back to Viv. "Fffuuuuuuuuuck," she blinks and murmurs, prior to puffing another drag off the filter. She looks -- like a guy looks -- after being blueballed a lil bit.

Viviana flips through her bag, looking through the few treasures she had procured on her walk. "Of course Goldie. Its a family affair." When Goldie says fuck she looks to see the source and notes Kameshi in the dark motif, looking back to Goldie and giving a small smile to her "You okay?"

Perhaps it is the irony, perhaps it is funny to her, and perhaps she just has weird moments where things run through her head, but as Kameshi moves closer, she decides to quote Lord Byron:

She walks in beauty, like the night
 Of cloudless climes and starry skies;
And all thats best of dark and bright
 Meet in her aspect and her eyes;
Thus mellowed to that tender light
Which heaven to gaudy day denies.

Goldie's phone lights up with an alert. The ding ding of an email.

Goldie drops a deadpan look at Viviana, flexing mouth pumping out smoke-rings until she gets bored with the trick and just lets expels a stream of smoke from her lips. "I got blueballed," she admits without going into detail. "It's fine. I just need to hit reset." By chain-smoking and drinking, apparently. "I've got the pictures for the outfits over here." She ducks into her purse and pulls the pictures out carefully, there are 10 of them, and passes them across the counter to the beautiful latina, "Find two you like and right your size on the back for each of the pieces -- they should be listed. So, I dunno," she eyes Vivs head and says, "Small? I think small should work; the rest is obvious. We'll get them rush shipped to be here Friday."

The sound of Kameshi spouting poetry gets Goldie flinching and looking up, she points the cigarette at the dark-haired woman and says, "Stop that." A pause, "We don't do that here." Playful sneer, "Take that up the street to fancy pants Gatsbys." Its only when Kameshi is -as- close as she gets that the brunette kin baffles with surprise and says, "Is that you?" Blinkblink, "Did you die your hair?" Without saying who it is she believes it to be.

"Sit down, quit with all that, your sophistication and beauty is wasted on my ass." Goldie gestures to the stool beside Vivs, "You want a vodka tonic? A manhattan?" she asks.

The chip of her phone draws her attention and she slides that from her purse also, checking the screen with a glance to see the notification before opening the message.

When one changes a name, emails should be closed. Did she forget, or what it does not matter? She has urgent mail on her phone—the subject reading Money.

Viviana looks back to Kameshi as she quotes, looking over the woman and giving her a friendly smile. Goldie's words of being blue balled draw a giggle from her own lips as she turns to look at the pictures that Goldie is laying out. Her dark eyes are studying each one.

Pondering a moment, Kameshi says, "Do you know how to make a Tar & Feather with slime and battery acid?" giggling at her favorite drink, which so many people can make despite not knowing they know how. She leans over, "And Yes, I am me, Me is I."

Subject: Money

Inside is a link to a video at a dropbox.

Nothing, else, not even a real email attached, it seems to have been spoofed to her.

Goldie is distracted by her phone. The already pale kin goes a touch paler at what she spots on her notifications. Distractedly, she smiles up at what Kameshi says, "One of these days, you're going to have to tell me more about yourself."

Then, her attention is redirected, she presses a finger at the button on her iPhone, queueing it up and opens the email. The brunette realizes a moment too late that she shouldn't have touched anything, " -- maybe you guys should head out," she murmurs. Having the impression she is already caught, she clicks on the dropbox link and opens it to watch what they sent.

The video

Her best friend, from back home, is getting dragged into a warehouse; she is screaming. Tears are running down her profile. As a large black man walks forward, placing a pistol at the back of her head, the sound of the shot is loud as she is crumbling down into a pile. The large black man is walking back towards the camera."Everyone you loved is going to die. Unless I get my fucking Money, email me back. We will meet."

Hm. Father would approve, but Goldie watches her friend crumple up and sees only -- at this point -- what she is. The friend she'd had for so many years is another puppet in the tug-of-war between Weaver and Wyrm. Unfortunate that she had to die that way, her dreams had to suffer and she wasn't able to live out the rest of her life in ignorance, but Father comes for us all. "You guys should head out," the brunette says, looking up.

Viviana continues to look over the pictures glancing at Goldie and her phone, hearing the pop and the voices. Her eyes go back to Goldie "Lady, what's wrong? Are you alright??"

Goldie responds to the dropbox with a location pin. There is an ear-cuff on her ear that would cue Pax, but she doesn't know how heavy this is going to be and she doesn't want the Father's soldiers getting dragged into her old shit; she doesn't use it. She just sets the phone down on the counter and explains to Viv and Kameshi, "Old shit." There has already been blood spilled in the bar, albiet in the fighting pit and not in the bar itself, but the addition would be a blessing she imagines and she's too new and too ignorant for anyone to miss. "Go find Kurt," she says. Its only then she amends, "And Jackson." It is, after all, his speakeasy. "Jackson knows what's up. I stole some money where I lived last and fucked up, they are going after people I knew back home." Maybe there's time, she thinks, to prepare. Maybe it won't go down like that. Maybe it will. She'll let them decide if they want to trouble themselves.

Viviana picks a few photos and sets then aside "Do you think they will come to Prospect? ...and what can I do to help. Im afraid im not exactly a fighter.."

It is sort of casually apathetic, sort of curious, and sort of caring, but Kameshi says, "How much money? We talking a $500? A few grand? Not that I'm offering to loan you the money, but maybe, depending on how much, I might be able to, for the right compensation." It is an odd tone, but Kameshi doesn't even really look at the phone or Goldie, she just lets it slip out, and then waits for either a Tar & Feather with slime and battery acid, or to be asked how to make it.

Given the circumstances, the Kin is pretty chill. A trip to the void will do that, she supposes. Goldie yeahs in reply to Viviana's question and sets the phone down, turning it with a twitch of her fingers so they can see the screen and watch the video if they like, "I think they will, probably," she says. "But I'm not really sure what all went down. I used to work with a guy who stole cars. I'd go along as a distraction and if the owner showed up unexpectedly or someone saw us or the cops rolled up, I'd play lil' girl lost so the guy doing the work could run away." A shrug, "And the last job we did I went to get paid the next day and my partner was dead, my boss was dead and some other slag was on the floor wasted. The car we stole was there, the trunk open and a bag was in it, so I took the bag and ran. It had -- a good bit of change in it," she continues without going into detail. "I expected it was just a matter of time, but I have no idea who they are or what they are or, -- " she says, more importantly, " -- how big this could get."

"$500,000 in cash." Goldie sets her palms down on the counter, the position thrusts her shoulders up by her ears, and lazily head shakes, "I haven't touched it. I stowed it in a safe deposit in San Francisco on my way south just in case they came after me . . . which I suspected they would do, eventually."

Viviana clasps her hands as she watches the video again. When it is over her eyes raise to Goldie listening to her story and nodding. Even when she says the amount she doesnt flinch but she does respond "Well then, I might be mad too.." She chuckles lightly "Ah i am not laughing at your plight but you know the family could help im sure"

"I know," Goldie says to Viviana with a laugh, "I didn't know what was in the bag, but I -- I dunno, my curiosity gets the better of me," she says, head shaking. "I saw a bag, I had to take it and once it was taken, I couldn't untake it." Her head shakes, "They family may be able to handle it, but the rules." Don't break the veil. "Rules first." She taps the bar to get their attention and makes gestures for them to get up, "Go. I'm not shit for fighting either and this may get all fucked up."

There is nothing, just that email. The world is quiet, the live band not yet hired or told to play tonight. Now the sound of cars outside, but nothing out there. It seems, maybe this email is not that big of a deal, maybe this is it one bad email, the end of the day. DING DING.

Subject: Again

There is a long gaze off into nothing as Kameshi ponders... she could do it, she could get half a million in cash, it just would cost her and put her in a tight spot. Goldie is a friend, and Kameshi doesn't want anything to happen to Goldie, but liquidating everything she owns is a bit much.

That was quick. Goldie looks to her inbox as she smacks her forefinger on the message to open it.

A live video pops up that black man is sitting in a chair, with a large colt in his right hand."Hello Georgina Durand, my name is Francis Aidan Perice." His voice is soft, that smooth sexy black man confident, waves towards her. His eyes deep green, as he leans forward kissing at the camera, as his hand waves with little finger waves."God, I saw your picture and it was smoking. I can't wait to meet you, here is the game. We are meeting, me and you, bring friends whatever. Make em hot." His voice is smooth as sin, thicker than butter, as he points to the corner, as the camera pans slowly a man is standing there this time her high school lover, the first boy to fuck her."This is Jack, I ain't like him he played, and I didn't." Jack is standing in front of a brick wall, a moment later it is coated in brain matter, and blood as the camera zooms in his teeth on the floor, as it pivots back to the black man."I got, whole bunch of people. Now, email me back let me now ya got this."

Goldie watches Jack go down and looks to Kameshi and Viv, kinda ho-humming. "We dated for like two weeks. Once he introduced me to sex, I didn't want to be in a relationship anymore," she says to them. "I kinda wondered what he'd been doing now and again." Not much now. Ouch.

She emails Francis back and asks, 'where' without any attempt at punctuation. "You guys wanna go kill some shit?"

Viviana glances at the phone again then back to Goldie. "Well it looks like he'a spattered on the floor and walls but yeah let's go. Like I said Im not sure on how well I may or may not kill something.."

"Well, Khaaboolh needs an offering," Goldie puts out there, "Maybe we can combine interests."

"Kameshi, you coming with?" Goldie looks up from the phone to ask, head tipping. "He thinks I'm a dumb bim he's gonna turn out to punish me for taking his money and he wants me to bring other women he thinks are dumb bims." She waggles an eyebrow, "I wanna see what you can do, battery acid."

The address is coming up is a hotel right here in prospect, called the New Rose. Expensive, penthouse, and a name to give Mr. Marcus.

"Well, I'm goin." Goldie says, packing up her purse. She slings the crossbody cord over her neck, adjusts it and takes the phone in hand, offering to the two, "If you don't come with, just make sure Kurt or Jackson knows what happened."

Viviana grabs her purse and goes after Goldie. "What sort of plan do you have? I only know how to pick locks and shit"

"I don't have a plan really," Goldie says over her shoulder, "Improvisation, see what happens. If all else fails I have that rock in my pocket Pax gave me which will take me back to Magadon." A shrug, she turns at the exit and looks to Viv, "I understand if you don't want to go. I have a failsafe." She tilts her head, "If anything happens, I'll make sure we come back, so nothing will happen to you. You wanna go play and see what these assholes have in mind?"

The hotel is out by the desert right outside of the town, it is for the wealthy of the wealthy. Not a place for anyone that is not balling, nothing but suits. The tower is going high up into the sky, the penthouse is glinting in the distance. The moon is behind it framing it casting down, long shadows. No-one is outside this time of night, it is past check-in and time for the streetwalkers to try and get paid.

Viviana walks with Goldie to the Hotel. "You have a gun right? Barks taught me a couple shots but Im not very good. More so...maybe I could be bait or a distraction?" She looks up at the giant building, suddenly becoming uneasy.

Goldie drives them to the building her 2005 POS Ford Truck, all crammed together in the front seat with Kameshi's gothie look distracting the driver, and pulls into an empty space. She makes her way with the others to the front and looks up the front of the building when Viviana does, shrugging, "It's chill. Like I said, if he wanted to kill us, he'd just have done. He wants to get his fuck on. You're safe. Just do what you do and if I need to, I'll go back to Magadon, get the others, and we'll come back enforce."

Frowning, Kameshi listens, "Actually, I know it is cliche, but I'm from Texas, and the security details that guard my mother were some of the first men I twisted around my finger. I'm not like some specialist, but I can shoot a gun with either hand or my tail... and maybe with my feet." she looks around, "So, do you want me to go through the air ducts and surprise them, or just wow them and make everyone love me?" acting like either statement is common things to say.

Goldie has -zero- doubt that Kameshi is capable, but she seems kinda disappointed to put her up to something so trivial and basic. "Surprise me?" she asks, looking to goth Leia with a head tilt. "I kinda want to see what you can do." The room number is provided.

Viviana shrugs and follows, listening to the two of them as they speak. Hmm going through the ducts sounds kind of cool. She looks behind them and tucks a strand of hair behind her ear as she moves to the given room number.

As the name is asked for a black key is placed down in on the counter, a man leading them to the elevator. Bellhop, heading up with them as they are going for the penthouse. As the elevator dings open, they are in the penthouse. No-one is there, just a folder lying down on a large table. The sound of silence, it is clean, no clothing, no shoes, no one is living here or has checked in months.

Goldie walks into the space, looking around, wondering how they might make use of it later. She'll check out the penthouse thoroughly first, looking under furniture -- whatever furniture is there -- in corners, closets, behind doors, and eventually walk her way back to the folder to open it and look inside.

"Cameras," Goldie points them out when she sees them and she spots them in every room.

Viviana follows in after Goldie, maybe her mindset wasn't on par but she really wasn't paying attention until Goldie points out cameras and she snaps to. Her eyes looks to each camera. "Oh, he wants to watch us.."

"Hot," Goldie muses.

Looking idly around, Kameshi expects to notice nothing special, she rarely can see past her own breasts (or so it seems), so she gets a suprised look, "You both noticed the letter slipped between the books over there, right?" pointing toward the bookcase... Hey, the girl reads, who'd have thunk that all that time in her own library would make her naturally suited to notice stuff out of place on a bookshelf. She starts to approach it, then pauses, glancing down at her cleavage and whispers, "You'd warn me if there were traps right?" she looks to the other two, "I bet there are traps. This guy is like John Kramer... he probably wants to go all Jigsaw on us, and watch us hurt or kill ourselves."

All Goldie notices is Kameshi talks to her boobs. "Do they speak to you?" she asks, completely serious. The letter is also noted with an appreciative perk of her eyebrow.

Viviana glances to Kameshi and then to the bookcase, walking over to the letter sticking out. "Should I grab it and open it?"

There is a moment of consideration, seriousness passing over Kameshi's face as she ponders if she should admit the truth, make a joke, give an mix of truth veiled with humor, tell an outright lie, or somewhere in-between. She takes a long deep breath, then says, "They and my tail don't talk, but they do have minds of their own, and they do have ways of communicating with me, just not verbally... that would just be gross." she pauses, "Turn out the lights and then stay still? I want to try something. If I don't see anything else, we can re-illuminate the room and discuss the letter."

"He's looking for balefire," Goldie believes. She checks the folder to see if it's empty, and then looks to the women to see if they're ready, "Shall I?"

Viviana nods and glances to Goldie before standing still like Kameshi says.

Goldie opens the folder and sees pictures of her family and information on them, each seperated by a paperclip. "How dramatical." The brunette kin walks to the light switch and flips them off until she is told otherwise.

Nodding, Kameshi waits for Goldie to finish doing her reading and confirm she is ready for the lights to be turned off. It is a long shot, Kameshi knows she isn't the most observant person in the world, but she also knows she can see in the dark. As the lights go out, she slowly begins to move around the room, checking first to see if any of the cameras track her, and second to see if anything stands out in the dark, as light no longer is shining on stuff, which means things like glow-in-the dark stuff was charged a bit and will now stand out, and with the lights off, hidden shafts of light are more visible by contrast. She extends her claws, intending to cut the wires to each camera, if she is sure it isn't tracking her movement.

Viviana stands there in the dark, hearing Kameshi moving around. She tries to use her other senses to see if she can hear anything.

Goldie waits by the light-switch for Kameshi to speak up and let her know its all good or not.

Cautiously going camera to camera, like a petulant little kitten, Kameshi claw claw claw claws the wireless transmitters on the cameras, before saying, "Okay, you may Illuminate the room. I've disable the voyeurs. Now, hopefully we can get more info from the room and find what we need."

Goldie flips on the lights and looks in the direction of Kameshi's voice and then to her phone as if she were waiting for an email notification to flash on her screen.

Dearest thief,

Mad respect, your money is yours. You can keep it, I have much bigger fish to fry. I might need you, to do jobs. Consider this a down payment, I will be touch. Good night, do what you wish with my penthouse. I wash my hands of the money in your hands, use it, burn it, smoke it, buy male hookers, whatever. But you will work for me, 4 jobs than you are free.

"Kameshi," Goldie looks up when nothing comes pops up. "What did the letter say again?" she asks. Its read either by Kameshi or by Goldie who approaches wanting to see for herself. Her face goes red, suddenly feeling like an ass for her earlier remark. She starts to say, 'I thought you--," but she ends up cutting herself off with a smirky headshake. "Embarrasing." Its read. She looks to Kameshi and to Viviana. "Welp. I guess that's that for now."
