IC Time a few hours after sunset
Players Albin and Parker

Albin would be seated at the carousel bar looking around nursing a scotch without ice in it. Watching the room and the people present in it.

Its about an hour after sunset and, on a lark, Parker decided to check out the night scene in Prospect after arriving in the city and setting up at a hotel for the first night. With this mission in mind she has gone to Bourbon and Bedlam.

The attractive young woman is wearing a black silk shirt with a matching black miniskirt over purple crushed velvet tights and a pair of gray ankle boots that are buckled on her feet. She glances around and starts to weave her way though the throng of bar goers as she heads to the bar where, as soon as she has the bartender's attention, she orders a Torchlight.

Albin looks over to Parker curiously tilting his hea doffering a nod as she takes a seat near him, the bar spinning around since well it is a carousel. "Evening" he offers politely to her with a soft smile

Parker nods curtly to Albin. Before replying to him however, she answers the bartender's question about the preferred alcohol in the drink ("tequila or rum" being offered) by saying, "Tequila, of course." She then turns her attention to Albin. "Hi," she says with a somewhat awkward smile.

Albin smiles to her with a nod putting the scotch to his lips "Nice evening" tilting his head at the akwardness. "And if I am bothering you, you can just say" shrugging "Just looking for some conversation really"

Parker takes her cocktail from the bartender and looks at it rather than Albin as she answers, speaking a bit tensely if not tersely, "If I wasn't looking to be among people I'd've stayed at the hotel and gotten hot sauce from room service." She then asks, "What do you want to talk about?"

Albin watches her "Alright, ehm... I am open for suggestions" offering a hand "I am Albin though"

After taking a sip of her drink she reaches out and takes Albin's hand and shakes it a bit more fiarmly than he might have expected. "Parker," she replies. She doesn't seem to be letting go of the handshake in the socially acceptable time frame either.

Albin doesn't seem to mind really though he would retract his hand after abit longer then normal "So why you in a hotel then if I might ask Parker?" looking to her tilting his head and looking her over

"New to Prospect," Parker replies and then, after another sip of the spicy cocktail she's drinking, she clarifies, "Gotta find a place. Hotel works for now though, y'know?"

Albin nods "Ah well I luckily got my own place, though going to be moving soon, as soon as my new place is ready. Just moved to town, but getting my own business opened"

An expression that might be pleasant surprise passes over Parker's face... or it might have been a concentrated clump of cayenne pepper catching in the back of her throat. She then asks, "You're opening a business, are you Albin?" and explains, "Me too," and asks, "What do you do?" very bluntly.

Albin chuckles lightly at the bluntness "I am a photographer, and abit of an artists and a tattooer slash body modder. So I am opening a studio and getting it licensed. What do you do?"

"Pa-... I design clothing," Parker says, trying to cover the odd start of the sentence by coughing. Its a very forced cough, almost sitcom-ish. "I prefer silk, as its extremely versatile," she explains, seeming more animate talking about this than anything she's said before... is it the subject or the nearly finished tequila and hot sauce cocktail... this is unclear.

Albin smiles "Oh designer? Very nice, so you opening a store then to sell your clothing or how you do that?"

"I don't know that I'm gong to try to pre-design. More a display and workshop where people can ask for custom work," Parker explains, adding, "Because trying to predict fashion isn't my thing. Maybe set fashion trends but that's not that important either, not really." She drains the class and signals the bartender for another and then asks, "Does that make sense, Albin?"

Albin nods "It does. There is a goth store I think that does commissions, Velvet Dreams. Not been there myself but did check it out as I been shopping around for a few nice dresses for a photoshoot"

Parker hmms. "Maybe I should check them out and collaborate at first," she says adding, "Don't want to glut the market," again sounding more engaged than originally. "Thank you," she says first to Albin and then, with a nod redirecting it, to the bartender as well as her second Torchlight is set down next to her and her 'dead soldier' is taken away.

Albin puts his scotch to his lips and then looks to her "Scene is pretty big here but thought it might be worth a look for you at least"

Parker nods. "Prospect's pretty big, yeah," she says and then sips at her cocktail. "You said you were new, how long've you been in the city?"

Albin ponders "Couple of weeks now, people seem rather friendly so that is a plus" smiling broadly to her. "I got contractors working on my new place so should not take long to have it finished"

"Good contractors? Building or renovating?" Parker's questions do feel like she's grilling Albin but its... not quite an interrogation... more like she's considering asking for a referral if the workers are good enough.

Albin smiles "Renovating, is easier. And getting land in a town like this somewhat central is murder" shaking his head "Better to spruce a place up then break down a building and set up a new one"

Parker nods. "Where's your place that you're setting up at, Albin?" she asks, following up wth anohter drink of her spicy cocktail.

Editor's Note: This pose is exactly as it was typed by the player.

Albin would tell her the address but player has forgotten (derp) "Mostly just going to be ink and body mod shop, photo and art isn't directly as sellable so they will get a back room for showing and making"

Parker, upon hearing the address from Albin, nods and seems to be making an effort to remember it. "Cool. Piercings, tats and the like?" she asks, seemingly something else she's able to get some interest in.

Albin nods "Ah yes tattoos, piercings, tongue splits, earlobe enlargements, subdermals.. all of it. but most people just go for tattoos and piercings"

Parker nods. "I've concidered but it'd be complicated," she says. "So..." she trails off and just drinks more of her cocktail.

Albin tilts his head "Complicated?" watching her curiously

Parker snorts. "Yeah," she says, "I don't like pain."

Albin tilts his head to the other side as he watches her "I see. Well I am rather good with complicated, pain is just part of the ritual of it all, and I do have soft hands" holding up his hands that hasn't seen any kind of labor, thin artists fingers, could probably been a pianist if he been interested.

Parker snorts again, this time with full on derision interlaced into the aborted sound. "I'm sure you do, Albin," she says and then she downs the rest of her drink. She makes a sort of clicking sound in her mouth as she thinks what to say and then just shrugs. "I think I'll be sticking with clip-ons and henna body art," she ends up saying after the shrug.

Albin nods "I do henna as well, but it is up to you. I do like to experiment with patterns since it is not permanent"

"Experimenting... sounds nice," Parker says in a completely unintentional and vaguely creepy way.

Albin smiles to her "Oh? well if you ever want to experiment, perhaps even see if that fear does not fade abit when you see what can drop by when I open" pays for them both "Unfortunately I have to go"

Parker nods and smiles, again a bit forced as if she's somehow having to get re-acquainted with the action. "Sure thing Albin, it was.... interesting meeting you."

Albin nods to her "It certainly was, you take care"
