Caressa motions the money to him, "Yes, you can. You seems a nice young lad, keeping up with your studies...and studying it hard on a empty stomach. I insist. I remember my college days."

Seated at one of the tables, a tiny red haired college student sits with an opened laptop in front of him, and a notepad off to one side, with some notes scribbled onto it. In front of him, is Caressa, offering him some cash. Gingerly, the blushing Dalvin reaches forward, relenting as he takes the offered money, and smiles softly back at her. "Um, well, thank you." He says shyly for her, peeking at the cash in hand, before stashing it into his pocket.

Caressa smiles to Dalvin, picking up her bag of pastries and her to-go coffee cup once more. "Keep up the good work." Then she turns to make her way out.

Vic steps in from the street and looks around like the first time visitor of the shop that she is with her messenger back slung across her shoulder and resting against the small of her back. She approaches the counter and exchanges a few words with Nina who, a few moments later, hands Vic a plate with a sandwich and a side of potato salad along with a glass of lemonade.

"Oh, thank you. See you later." Dalvin offers for Caressa again, smiling brightly, to spite the deep blush worn on his cheeks as she leaves. Then Vic arrives, and his attention is drawn towards her too. Shyly, he peeks towards her, and then diverts his attention back onto the computer in front of him, both hands reaching out for the keyboard, as though considering what to type.

Caressa pauses on her way out to let Vic pass and give a wave back to Dalvin, "Sure we'll run into each other again sometime", then slips out the door. Her car keys jingling as she pulls them from her pocket.

Vic, while looking for a place to sit, sees the university student with a computer and can practically be seen deciding to approach him before turning to head his direction. After approaching his table she asks him, "May I join you?"

When Vic approaches, Dalvin peeks towards her again, blushing and then quietly nodding in a silent response to her question. His gaze shifts between his computer, and then onto her and back again, his fingers hovering over his keyboard as though considering the situation. "Um, yes." He finally offers, breaking the possibly awkward silence, as he levels his gaze onto her, smiling sfotly, to spite the growing blush. "Hi."

Vic sets her plate and glass down and then pulls her bag over her head so that she can set it down on the table next to the food and drink. She nods at the tech and, as she sits down at the table, asks him, "Anything interesting there," with more a sense of curiosity than true prying to the question.

While Vic sits down next to him, Dalvin shifts a bit, and turns his body towards her. As she gestures for his laptop, and poses her question, he smiles softly and tilts the computer her way, so she can see what he's working on. It's code, very simple code that is slowly growing in complexity as he continues to work on his project. If she is at all familiar with it, she might recognize it to be written in Python. "Just some homework of mine, is all."

Vic takes a bite of her sandwich as she glances over it and nods. "Python," she says after swallowing that bite and washing it down with a splash of her drink. "What's the goal of your project?" she asks, seeming to be actually interested, before taking another bite of her sandwich.

Peeking towards her again, Dalvin rests his hands and takes in the sight of her before turning his attention back to the computer screen. "This one is meant to to make a simple script, that utilizes three different simple functions, and blending their uses together." He tells her softly, leaning back into his seat. "It's really just meant to teach us the syntax of Python."

Vic smiles and nods. "Remember its more than just the syntax, aim for explicit simple beauty and don't forget to maintain readability," she says sounding like she has some experience with this also. Then, before taking another bite of her sandwich, she quickly adds, "So since it is blending three simple functions are you maintaining their simplicity in the output?"

"Well, I'm only just learning Python." Dalvin informs Vis as he peeks back at his computer, seeming to peer closely at the code as it is already written. "If this were C sharp, or C plus plus, I'd have an easier time with it." Then he peeks back at Vic and nods his head softly. "That's the goal, yeah."

Perhaps strangely, Vic now looks confused and, setting down her drink she asks, "Are those relate to C, C-star and Stellar-C?" After asking she opens her bag and pulls out a laptop of her own upon which a T symbol on the back lights up as she turns it on. She quickly says, "I'm wanting to have my electronic notebook open," as an explanation for why she needs the machine on right now.

Ignoring those questions, since the player doesn't actually know, Dalvin arches a brow at her for a moment as she begins to withdraw her own laptop from her bag. As she explains what she is doing though, he softly nods his head for her. "Uh, sure." He murmurs softly, a light blush forming on his cheeks as he peeks back at his computer again.

It's early evening, which means the Roasters isn't entirely packed, mostly filled with the occasional college student, deciding they need that extra bit of coffee to help them finish out their studies for the night. At one particular table, near a window, two particular college students sit together with their computers opened in front of them, Dalvin speaking with Vic shyly, cheeks that blush almost as red as his hair. While Vic on the other hand, seems to be only just now getting her computer out, and has far less reservations, as she eats next to him, and chats.

Rustin steps into the coffee house, air pods stuffed into his ears drownding out the sounds of the city around the campus. The red-head is in what could be considered 'campus casual' attire; a pair of cargo shorts and a hoody sweat shirt from UCP with a satchel slung over his shoulder. Just coming from a lecture or heading to one? By the way he's sort of dragging his steps up to the counter one might suggest he's just survived one of 'those' classes; the soul-sucking type.

Rustin walks up to the clerk and asks for a tall coffee, black. He'd appreciate if they could just put it in his yeti thermos.

Vic continues to eat her free meal, polishing off the sandwich while her laptop powered up. "Have you been in Prospect long?" she asks Dalvin before taking a bite of her potato salad and then glances around for the wifi password and typing it into her computer after locating the obligatory sign which displays it.

As Rustin arrives, Dalvin peeks towards the fellow ginger, watching him silently for half a second and then turning his attention back towards Vic as she speaks. He shakes his head lightly, peeking back down at his computer again. "No, not really. I'm a transfer student from NYU." He offers quietly, leaning back into his seat a bit. "What about you?"

Gingers are rare enough and typically stunning enough that you can pick one out of a crowd. Throw a dozen blondes or brunettes into a room like this with their double skinny lattes and the ginger will be spotted before they take their first sip. So, once Rustin pays for his drink and walks to the end of the counter to wait, he has the opportunity to glance around the room a bit and seems to pick up Dalvin's presence like it was a disturbance in the force; the Ginger Force.

Noting how he's sort of doing his own thing and talking to the woman, all the game store owner does to get his attention is wait for the force to tell the guy that he's being watched, offer him an up-nod of greeting and half a wave as mutters, "Hey bro." or in ginger-bro speak: 'greetings fellow ginger-person. I hope that your day is well and that you're not going through any undue hardships while you find your path in life.'

"I just got here a week ago," Vic says as she pulls up her web browser and starts pulling up information about C-based computer languages. When Dalvin glances towards Rustin she follows his gaze and nods to him before returning her split attention to the red-head she is sitting with and her computer.

At their table, Vic adds, "Still adapting to how different everything is," softly.

While Rustin nods his head at him, noting his presence next to Vic, Dalvin watches the other figure for a moment, and then inclines his head politely towards the man. Then his focus shifts back towards Vic and he smiles softly. "Um, well welcome to Prospect." He mentions, then arches a brow at something she says quietly to him. "What do you mean?"

Rustin fetches his coffee from the person behind the counter and walks over to the small floating table island thing with the sugar and the creamer so he can doctor up his drink the way he likes. With an absent glance to Vic and then another to Dalvin, he turns back to focus on pouring a bit of sugar into his pitch black brew. Not wanting to interrupt the on-going conversation his attention eventually falls away from the pair.

"Well it's just all so different," Vic says in such a vague way that she's obviously not sure how to describe it. "I mean, the sky's still blue and all that," she adds with a laugh as she types into a file before she strikes a few quick key strokes and then starts to power off the laptop again after finishing her meal.

Apparently not the type to say one way or another, as Rustin starts to make his way out, Dalvin grants him another soft, shy nod of his head. Then his focus turns back to Vic and he furrows his brow at her, a bit confused. "I'm... Not sure I understand." He murmurs softly, and then reaches forward, saving his own work and powering down his laptop too.

Rustin turns to head out, glancing towards the fellow Ginger and his conversational partner briefly as he heads out, raising his cup in a gesture of parting and acknowledgement - as if to say...'see ya'.

"Don't feel bad, I'm living it and don't fully understand," Vic says as she closes the lid of the laptop before slipping it back into her bag. She says, "Thanks for the company," and introduces herself by adding, "I'm called Vic," as she extends her hand to offer a handshake in greeting.

Once Rustin leaves, Dalvin leaves his attention on Vic, and he smiles softly for her, shyly. He reaches forward and accepts the handshake, a gingerly motion that he applies almost as gingerly as he is. "I'm Dalvin." He informs her, shaking the hand and then withdrawing his hand from her.

After the handshake, Vic stands and slings her re-secured bag onto her back. "It was nice to meet you, Dalvin," she says, "Good luck on your project, maybe see you here again some time, right?"

"Oh, thank you." Dalvin murmurs and then as she mentions seeing him again, he smiles and nods softly. "Yeah, definitely. Either here, or the Witches Brew... Or the campus library." He offers, and then pauses, seeming to consider something as a blush forms on his cheeks. "Anyway, see you later."

Vic smiles back at Dalvin and, after collecting her now empty glass and plate, she carries her dishes to a return location before heading out to the street.
