Rotted Patrol - Part 1
Ildar leads a training Patrol.
IC Date February 27th, 2019
Players Against the Wind, Aidan, Erin, Ildar, Mora
Spheres Shifter Gaian Garou Kinfolk Fera

Ildar is matched up with the next group that's available to do that patrolling of the forest. They have a stretch of the land that should take them about 4 hours to be able to set up and go through. He's currently at the patrol depot, going over the final check list and waiting for the other people to show up and be ready to go.

Erin shows up when she has the call and alongside her is a rather large black panther that seems to be kinda walking besides her. She looks at it "Stay here for a moment" it tells it before making her way over to Ildar, "Reporting in and I brought hmm friend" she hmms

Aidan is reporting for duty. Well, voluntary duty. The Khan was under no orders to partake of any caern business, but in good faith he's here and can be seen making his way for the depot. He'd got sturdy cargo jeans on, hiking boots, and a fitted t-shirt and blue flannel over it. As he comes near, the ebony feline is given a very close looking at.

Mora was early as she was leaning against a tree watching the people coming "I have all day so I don't mind a longer than normal patrol, but that is me I am not talking for people like Erin." she gives the other ginger a hello wave.

Against the Wind pads up to the front entrance of the depot, but does not fully enter it. His muzzle is to the wind as he gets the scents of those in attendance.

Ildar, for his part is definitely 100% certified Silver Fang. The scent is ALL over him for pure breeding. Ildar looks to the others as they show up and nods to each in turn, a smile given to Mora with a slight nod. Once it looks like basically everyone is there, he'd put the clipboard away and face them. "Just so we're all on the same page, I'm Ildar. It's a 4 hour hike that we're going on to sweep the area. Then 4 hours back. Do we all have the ability to travel in a faster format? Or are we looking at travel by homid speed?" He shrugs a little. "As long as you guys listen to me, as we go, I'm sure we'll be just fine. I'm hoping for a quiet patrol, after all."

Erin gestures to the panther "I can ride Kringer if we need to go fast" she admits "I can keep up. I'm good either way don't have to go homid if you guys don't want too"

Mora says "Erin is ki... what she said." before her body starts to shift around as the sounds of shifting is herd as she transform. She stands a little bigger then a normal wolf fluffy red fur that makes her look more huggable then a deadly killing machine on all fours.

"Name's Aidan Strike-of-Heaven, since I'm not one of your usual faces." Says the Korean. Erin's suggestion that she ride the panther is given a very odd look, the kind where someone is doing their damndest not to be offended. Strange place, strange customs, etcetera. Right. "I can travel however, you're the boss here. So long as potential language barriers wouldn't be an issue."

Against the Wind exhales sharply as his back fur twitches a bit at the comment about riding the panther, but the purebred Red Talon simply turns his large frame to signal he is ready to go.

Ildar smiles to Aidan and nods a little. He'd eye Erin curiously a moment, thoughtful, before he finally starts for the door. "I'll shift for talking. Otherwise, just keep close and we'll work it out." He smiles with that, then would shift to his own immense white wolf form. There's nothing fluffy or huggable about him as he pads out of the depot and starts to head off, leading the way for that patrol area.

Looking at all the eyes looking at her at the mention of riding the Panther "Hmm we are ok with that he doesn't mind I asked. Don't look at me like that" she grumbles and takes a breath as she looks to Kringer "Come on" the Panther moves to her and actually gets down so that Erin can climb onto it's back, there is a saddle even wait was that even there a moment ago.

"Good thing I've been working on my interpretive dance." Teases Aidan before he shifts, it's not to a wolf but a Siberian tiger - orange, striped, and scarred. He gives the panther just the slightest bit of stink eye - what cat just lets themselves be ridden like a mule? - but nothing untoward is said or done. He just flicks his tail and follows after Ildar on silent paws.

Against the Wind flinches for a moment, like he is going to fall in line behind and slightly flanking Ildar, but then seems to hold his ground till everyone else has moved out and takes up the rear position of the line. (Spending a Gnosis point to engage Heightened Senses Gift)

Kringer looks to the others as Erin pets him "You're doing fine, " she says to the panther as it flickers its tail and moves in like ready to follow Ildar.

Mora looks around as she takes a moment to get use to the vision of a wolf, stretches her hind legs. She does take a moment to focus the energy in her body to focus her senses. <spending for heightened senses gift.>

Erin did look at Aidan cuz you know he totally introduce himself and it took her a moment. She bites her lip "Sorry. I'm Erin, sup" she greets" she looks a little nervous but she looks to Ildar waiting for his lead.

As Ildar trots past Against the Wind, a small huff is given in greeting. <<Hello Against the Wind. Your strength will be appreciated for this. Thank you for coming on it.>> Once outside, Ildar goes from that trot to a full on run, the massive wolf is FAST after all and they have a lot of ground to cover. here's hoping they can all keep up! On the other hand, he also makes sure to not lose anyone, slowing down as he has to, to keep them together as a group, at the least.

Kringer and Erin have no problem keeping up with the group seems Kringer is pretty fast.

Against the Wind dips head and tail slightly as the Silver Fang moves by. His posture as one of submission to his leadership, and acceptance for what passed between them. <Honor's Keeper-rhya> is his reply in lupus language as he takes up the last position in pack.

Strike-of-Heaven flicks his whiskers and given Erin a moderately slow blink. It seems to mean something, and it seems friendly, but you'd have to be well versed in cat to probably get it. He keeps up well enough as he switches between trots and runs. Tigers aren't the endurance runners of wolves, but then he's not precisely a normal tiger, and he seems fit enough that it's not a burden to him to keep up the pace.

Mora loves to be in wolf form as much as she can and keeps up with the pack. If her face could show it now she seems proud that she gets to wonder around with other shifters.

Erin isn't that versed at cat, or wolf or any really other create she is still learning. She takes a breath and does give Strike a smile as they keep up though this time she is looking around a little bit more than last time perhaps, she has learned her lesson.

As the group moves along, they would reach that edge of the patrol zone. Honor's Keeper slows from that run to that trot, keeping alert as they move along. He looks back to the others, nosing towards Mora and Erin with Kringer then off to the left. Then he'd motion towards Against the Wind and Strike of Heaven and motions to the right. That huff of his, of course, is only for those who know the lupus language. <<Split. Keep alert. Keep in sight.>>

Command given, Honor's Keeper continues himself, looking about as he does. It's only Against the Wind that picks up that faintest hint. A trace in the air. It's coming from ahead... and something? Something is definitely not right.

Against the Wind starts to split but then stops dead in his tracks. His muzzle is to the wind, his eyes locked in a direction and short quiet chuff is let out to alert those around him that something is wrong.

It takes Erin a moment to understand but then she gets it and gestures to Kringer move to the left. She keeps petting the jaguar to let him know he is doing well. They stick close to Mora slowly watching.

Strike-of-Heaven understands pointing - even if it's with faces and not fingers. He treks off in the indicated direction, though keeps one ear turned towards the rest of the patrol to keep tabs on them. He looks towards Against the Wind as he seems to pick up on something and the tiger looks towards where he indicates.

Mora listens to what was told of her she splits to the left as she looks around even more when she hears Winds back up there is something nearby. She looks to Erin to note she is close by.

Ildar slows when Against the Wind stops moving and stares off one direction. He looks that way as well, then would shift, liquid smooth to that homid state which stays crouched by a tree. Glancing to the others, he nods a little, speaking low. "Keep alert. Keep low. We'll find out what's ahead. Against the Wind, lead where you scent it, please." Ildar waits for confirmations from the others, then smoothly shifts back to that lupus so he too can follow along.

Ahead of them, with the wind coming towards them for how Against the Wind found it, seems to be a fire. As they all get closer, it gets obvious, but there's something bad about the flame. It smells.. rotten. Disgusting. The smoke is choking and nothing about it seems right. Near the fire is what looks to be 3 beings, huddled in cloaks and hoods that are low by the green flame that dances in front of them.

Against the Wind goes into wolf stealth mode and slowly starts stalking towards his target. His steps slow and measured, his ears twitching back and forth gauging the environment as he starts to lead forward.

Mora keeps low as she focuses on her healing ability as she gets it to work in a different and better way to fight off anything poisonous. She does keep close to Erin but her notice is towards the other two that snuck off to the source of the problem.

Strike-of-Heaven moves along with the group, flanking out slightly to seek out a bit more shadow and let it and his stripes better break up his outline. Where his feet fall, there isn't a sound. Not just well placed, but there's a supernatural silence about him as the feline stalks for the fire keepers.

Erin looks towards where the hooded ones are over and wrinkles her nose at the smell. She looks to Mora then towards where the others are at she is trying to stay low.

Mora, Strike of Heaven and Against the wind would notice at the same time. The 3 by the fire shift, their slight swaying stops suddenly as they look towards where the group is coming from. There's a sudden hiss from the three of them as they'd scatter out into the woods, one running away, the other two splitting to the left and right. Ildar growls softly at the splitting up and then barks to the two side groups. <<Hunt them. I got center!>> He'd take off then, the white wolf bursting into motion to go after his target as the other two split off, leaving the others to go after them!

In the blink of an eye, the already large framed Red Talon grows in mid launch as he takes off after the right one. Now at a little over half a ton and over 5 feet at the shoulders Against the Wind is off at full speed in hunt mode. With a snarl and shift of muscle and bone, Against the Wind shifts into dire wolf form.

Strike-of-Heaven has no idea what the wolves are yapping, but he's a cat. When the prey moves, you chase it. Simple as that. Continuing to silently creep forward, he breaks cover as soon as the squatters bolt. He heads for the right along with Against the Wind, for now remaining in his 'smaller' and more agile feline form.

Mora looks to the ones as she chuff "On it." said in lupus language. Since she sees fire she calls upon her inner energy to slightly change her skin to resist fire. She takes off at the ones she was ordered to after she gives Erin a strange head nod to follow.

Looking as the men split and she looks over towards them then towards the boss "Ok" she looks to Kringer "Let's go get them" she hmms and rubs her hands together. She begins to chant "Woods here my call and slow my target down. Here me, bind them hold them and make them fall, so that the party can catch them" She sets her target to the one that is trying to get away.

Against the Wind is tireless as he crashes through the underbrush on the hunt for the escaping prey. Against the Wind dives forward in an attempt to sink his teeth into prey and bring it to a stop.

There's a cough-like snarl from behind Against the Wind as the tiger rushes past him. Nearly a half ton of cat leaps off the ground and slams into the running fire tender, driving it into the ground and holding it there. Something seems to set him off, because the cat's fur is on edge and he spits right back into the monster's face with a defiant roar.

Erin called upon someone as she chanted, it seems when she moves her hands and chants happen and that one that she had pinned who was breaking free by corrupting the poor plants suddenly begins to bleed as jagged wounds begin to appear all over its body and then it stops twitching and Erin wrinkles her nose "What the fuck is that?" she doesn't get close just in case and she's still on top of her mighty mount.
