Obstacle Course
George takes a group on a romp through the woods
IC Date Evening of Monday, June 26
IC Time Evening
Players George, Journey, Jake Miller, Tabia, Bronwyn, Natalie H.
Location Somewhere in the woods near the Caern
Spheres Gaian Garou and Fera

George has gathered whoever felt like coming along by a red flag out in the woods near the caern. Off in the distance in two directions a keen eye can spot similar flags tied to tree branches. "So, this is one of my training courses. Only important rule is no teleporting, you have to physically move from flag to flag. You will wind up right back here eventually."

Journey breaks out into a grin and leans against a tree, smirking and nods, waiting for things to get underway, amused now.

Natalie arrives, hanging back a little, but close enough to hear. She looks off through the trees at another flag, then back to George, "Limitations on forms?" She has her thumbs hooked in her beltloops, feet planted about shoulder width apart.

Tabia chuckles. "Wouldn't be near as much fun, otherwise. Lookin' forward t'seein' what you've come up with." She offers those gathered greetings, regarding Natalie with the greatest curiosity, since she knows the least about her capabilities.

George shakes his head "Any forms you like, were in patrolled territory so you can go all out. Walk, Run, Fly, Crawl, Jump, or burrow. No teleporting, space folding, Moon-Bridges, Sun-Roads, or similar abilities. And yes with this group that is really a concern."

Journey chuckles, and drops forward, landing on paws and shaking out his fur, stretching his legs, streeeeeeetch.

A little raccoon peeks her head out of Journey's satchel, looking sleepy, blinking, rubbing her ADORABLE little eyes. Then, the raccoon, just.. speaks. "Can I be a thundergoose?"

Tabia seems to content to stay in her birth form, at least for the time being. She can always shift if a different form proves more useful. Bronwyn popping up catches her by surprise, though she recovers quickly, and the raccoon gets a grin. "Only rule is no teleportin', so I don't see why not," she replies.

Natalie is still a moment, and then she backs up a few steps and moves behind a bush. It's more dramatic that way! Or maybe she's just shy about shifting in front of strangers and those she knows only a little? Who knows with the mind of a cat.

George grins and shrugs at Bronwyn "Sure if you like. The first flag is a hundred feet away through the trees and fifteen feet up, flying's a good solve for the height but the manuvering between the trees on the way might be tricky. Any other questions? We'll meet up on the ground on the far side of the tree, sticking together since this is a new course."

Morning Mist peeks around the bush first, whiskers twitching, and then she paces out, chirping hesitantly. This /is/ the first time she's taken feline around everyone.

Shaderunner looks at the Cheetah and sniffsniffs and snarfs in her direction, whuffle. Not really saying anything just greeting noises.

Ever seen a raccoon grin? Prrrroooooobbbbably not. It's pretty fucking terrifying. Regardless, the raccoon does this and then dips her head back down and about half a second later, a wyld hummingbird appears! Yessirree. The little thing buzzes up to land on Morning Mist's head, waiting for the go.

Through the woods and up? No problem at all for the younger of the Strider Ragabash. For Tabia's part, she takes to the trees, moving just as swiftly through the branches as she might running on the ground below.

Mocks-the-Dark melts down into his black furred jackal/wolf form and trots off through the woods in the direction of the first flag, he's not going supernaturally fast but he's not dawdling either. He's darting between the trees like a show dog on an agility course, demonstrating the basic intent of the first flag. The solve he chooses for the height is a jump that almost had to be gift fueled, or maybe he's just that good. After he's brushed the flag he lands deftly and waits on the far side of the tree to see how everyone else does.

So the little hummingbird zips up into the air, overshooting just a little. She wobbles in flight briefly and this slows her down as she zips toward the target. Oh, she isn't SLOW, mind you, but flying is HARD, especially when you're dodging other people! Finally, the little bird tags the flag, nearly getting her long beak stuck in it, does a little flip flop in the air and plops onto George's head

Shaderunner bounces, running along, slipping amongst the undergrowth and jumping up, jumping off a tree into an impossible angle of travel to brush the flag and land, shaking out his fur.

Tabia isn't pouring on any supernatural speed, so she's probably not going to be the first to arrive at the flag by any stretch, but that's not to say she isn't quick. That said, the distance off the ground also isn't going to be any problem for her if it's still up there when she arrives.

Morning Mist lopes along with the others, paws hitting the ground lightly as she dodges the obstacles here, hopping over them there, until before she knows it she's at the tree and she tries to use the momentum to help her climb the tree up to the flag. She touches it, but then looses traction and whump, the big cat hits the ground quite ungracefully, not even managing to land on her feet! Which probably is a good thing since that kind of landing would likely have messed with her shoulders!

Jake's been here all along. Really, he has! He's just been quiet and following along with the group in lupus seeing that this is his first time doing a run like this. He's certainly happy to be here, apparent by his wagging tail.

Jake then takes his turn to jump at the flag and...yes, he gets it! When he drops to the ground he looks at the others with a wolfy grin and chuffs. <Didn't think I was going to reach that actually.>

Tabia actually drops down from higher up to touch the flag, tapping it and then glancing around to see if there's anyone else still behind her. She'll actually remain seated on one of the branches for the briefing about the next part.

George will shift back to homid briefly since he figures that Natalie doesn't speak wolf. He smiles encouragingly at the group "The next one isn't so high up, its under some briars in the middle of a cluster of trees that have almost grown together. The obvious choice is crawling through the maze under, takes time but its not that hard. Or you can try jumping over and landing somewhere you can't see. See you all on the far side." Then he drops back into wolf form and trots off in the direction of the briar patch, he chooses the jump of course.

Shaderunner snarfs at Jake, <You did well.> He chuffs, looking to Mocks, watching the shift and runs after Mocks for the Briar patch. He runs, and runs up the .. well he runs just above the briars, still flying, hhe just makes running motions with his legs for shits and giggles.

Tabia opts for the low road, this time, since she took the high the last. Have to change things up a bit, after all! And so she drops from the tree onto the ground, making good time crawling along beneath the briars as she makes her way to the next checkpoint.

Bumblebird flits over to land on Shaderunner's head for a bit. Yeah, might seem a little silly, but she's just gonna rest there for a minute. Being a humming bird is HARD FUCKING WORK! All those calories burned! So she'll take a ride on Shaderunner's head RIGHT up until he gets to the briars and then FLUMP. The little bird tumbles off his head and then there's a an armadillo on the ground, zipping along as fast as her stubby little legs can carry her.

Ramadillo rolls off of Shaderunner's head and tucks herself into a ball and is actually propelled forward through the brambles by Shaderunner's nose. Is that cheating? Well, she didn't teleport.

Morning Mist manages the leap in to touch the flag, but the leap out, not so great. She lands in the brambles, at least near the edge of the patch so it doesn't take to much to get out, but she's scratched up when she gets herself free, and she stands for a moment, paws braced, breath heaving, ears back and tail down, but twitching in agitation. One doesn't need to understand cat to understand the body language. She shakes her head a couple of times, a low growl rumbling in her chest, but then she gets herself under control. Little speckles of red dot her pale grey coat, but the damage isn't bad.

The black wolf makes his leap, furry brows knitting in concentration and leaps in to touch the flag and, almost in the blink of an eye leaps back out, totally unscathed.

Ramadillo just waddles her way out. Armor and all that.

Plus she's more or less round

Low road in, low road out. Once she's clear of the brambles, though, Tabia will get back to her feet and dust herself off, ready for the next leg of the course.

Shaderunner is waiting, pacing around, just watching the others coming along.

George is more than willing to give his new cheetah friend a moment to regain her composure as he flows back into human form again to explain the next bit. "Everyone's doing alright so far, Natalie I've gotta say that for all these trials were designed with a human or wolf shape in mind you're keeping up real well in your feline shape, you can try other shapes if you want though." Then he looks off to the next flag, its hanging off the edge of a gorge "Twenty five feet across and ten feet deep. You can climb down and back up or do a running long jump, or just fly."

"You make this too fun," says Bronwyn as she slowly shifts into her human form. No socks! Hell, no clothes, really. She does dig her toes in the dirt, though.

Mocks-the-Dark gives a barking laugh at Bronwyn and sprints off, over shooting his jump across the gorge by a signifigant margin.

Shaderunner sprongs into the air and lands next to the flag, looking down at the others with interest, gaze curious as he watches.

Morning Mist dips her head and she trots over to look at the next obstacle. The sleek cheetah then backs up a few steps and turns to get some distance. She pauses, shifting to, well, essentially a sabre-cheetah form, bulking a little more, though not dramatically so, really, but perhaps enough?

The big black wolf shifts back into homid for this round and watches as Journey effortlessly makes it over to the flag then chuckles. "That's my Alpha. Nice." Seems he's going to attempt to climb.

Tabia wants to a little jumping, this go-round, since she's already done some climbing. Given that, she shifts down to lupus, giving herself a decent running start and leaping for her prize. No gifts, just natural ability for this.

Morning Mist, once she's in that sabre-cat form faces the gorge, and she takes off, putting some speed in this dash, leaping sleekly and, seemingly fairly easily, to land on the other side, batting the flag too. Finally! Once she's landed and out of the way of anyone else, she turns to watch the others.

The climb for Jake seems totally effortless as he makes it to the bottom then up to the flag in record time. Yep, he's got this one! He then glances back at Bronwyn and blinks then chuckles. "You sure are full of surprises."

Bronwyn saunters up to the edge and scuffs some dirt on her toes. "I'mma need just a leeeeeeeeeettle bit of room here." She stretches out her arms as wide as they will go to the sides and then she turns in a little circle. That should be plenty of room. And then she concentrates. REALLY HARD. Her face screws up a little, brows knit, lips pursed, face turning a little red and then... For a VERY brief moment, there is a HUGE ass whale shark 'standing' upright and then.... FLUMP. The shark's face smacks into the other side of things, covering the distance easily. 'Little' fins flail at the air. It's a flying fish! Okay, not really. But then there is a hwaoooooooooo sound and then there is a Bronwyn, naked and flailing as she clings to the ledge right next to the flag. "Boop." She reaches out easily with one finger and pokes it. Gotta give her points for style, right? "I could be full of Shadow Lord, but NOooooooooooooooooooooooooooo. SOmeone had to go and get mated." Bronwyn grumbles.

It is, perhaps, a narrower thing than the young Ragabash might like, but Scratch makes that leap and accomplishes her goal, landing easily...and then diving out of the way as the shark comes in for its landing moments later.

Shaderunner loooooooooks up at a WHALE SHARK appears. Ears go back and eyes get cartoonishly big as the mass of TONS of fish fall towards him beside the flag. ZIP! The Jackal gets the fuck out of dodge!

George is very glad he cleared the jump by so far, he just watches Bronwyn's rather fishy approach to the task and he shifts back into human form, leaning against the tree with the starting flag as he laughs "Well that's a solve I hadn't considered. This brings us back to the begining, I hope everyone had a good time and maybe even learned something."

Jake grins widely and moves around the group, offering high fives to anyone who wants one. "Everyone did great! Although, I've never seen a solve like Bronwyn's before in my life. I'd say she definitely wins for ingenuity. That was great, George! Thank you for arranging this."

Bronwyn digs her feet in the grass, more or less completely unconcerned about her otherwise naked body. She does a little turn and spies Journey's satchel and wanders back toward it. "Well, I did at least warn you guys that I needed some room."

Shaderunners head emerges from a pile of sticks that he caused from slamming into a tree. <Always fucking sharks falling on me. At least it's not a coffee shop.> He pulls himself out of the pile of sticks. Ugh.

Scratch resumes her human form when she realizes they've reached the end. She looks to Bronwyn, shaking her head and laughing. "You sure you were one of the participants, and not part of the course?" she quips, then compliments George, "Nice job on this one."

Jake chuckles at Journey and looks back at the others. "I might have to set something like this up for my Guardians. It certainly would be a change in their routine. Good training too."

"Well, I COULD have gone first and ya'll could have just walked over me, but where's the fun in that?" Bronwyn just makes a little huffy sound and roots around in Journey's satchel for some goddamn socks. Mona Lisa for one foot and ice cream cones and sprinkles for the other. Only once she has her socks on does she worry about finding actual clothing in there.

George grins and nods "Bronwyn takes the sudden and unexpected shark prize for sure. This actually took very little construction, just deciding where to hang the flags for the most part. These can stay in place for now if you want to bring a group through it if you'd like."

Shaderunner pads over and gruffles, <Well that had one hell of an ending. Quite impressive.> He looks to Bronwyn dressing, <Pretty damn funny.>

Jake glances at Bronwyn's...socks before looking back at George and grinning. "Thank you, Sir. That would be great. I really do think the patrols would enjoy it." He heads over to stand next to Journey. "Yes, damn funny indeed. I sure wasn't expecting anything like that."

"Funny? There's not a fucking thing in the world funny about eleventybillion tons of fish slamming into the ground and then having to HOLD ON. Believe me. Nothing funny at all." Bronwyn GLARES. Okay. Maybe it IS funny. But now she's low on willpower and kinda cranky and Jake has a mate and barely looked at her naked feet. Huffybreath.
