5/25/2022 22:23:42 Jackie comes out of the Skjol, glancing up at the cloudy sky. She moves over to her car, checking the gauges on the small solar panel plugged into it and then looking at the battery meter in the car itself. She mumbles to herself softly, shrugging.
5/25/2022 22:25:37 Becks comes out of her own house with a tray holding a huge slab of meat upon it. She seems to be headed towards the fire but she spots Jackie on her way. " Well hello there!" she calls out happily. " Everything good with your car there?"

She glances back at her car, then takes a deep breath and looks back up to Becks with her smile restored. "Yeah, it's good! I was just checking the charge, trying to get some free green power, you know?"

5/25/2022 22:39:32 Leif comes along in a pickup truck. No, he didn't have to cut out the seats and move them back to fit. He does pretty okay! It so happens it's a BIG truck, but its still just a normal pickup. Freya's in the back of it and as soon as he comes to park alongside the Honda, Freya leaps up on the roof and howwwwwoooooooooooooooos that they are home.

She may not be pretty but she's mine." and then the truck arrives and little Freya howls their arrival and Beck chuckled again and says " And speaking of mine... it would seem my family is home. Let me get this on the fire. Are you hungry, Jackie?"
5/25/2022 22:56:28 Jackie glances at the car, then back at Becks skeptically. "Sixteen? How long-" She cuts off, covering her stomach with her hand as it grumbles at the mention of food.
5/25/2022 22:59:17 Leif crawls out of the truck and straightens up, coming almost nose to nose with the wolf. "You're ridiculous," he rumbles and Freya's tongue comes out and she launches herself at the big guy and he catches her, swinging her around to carry her like a baby. They head that way and he leans down to kiss Becks, but then keeps going and just tosses Freya into the spring. There's a look of shock on her face as she goes flying through the air, very clearly a 'Oh shit!' look and then a splash, and then Leif tugs off his shirt. "Don't roll around in dead things," he chastises, but not with any sort of malice. The wolf paddlepaddlepaddles and makes sad little sounds of despair.
5/25/2022 23:10:36 Becks chuckles a little at Jackie and says "I have had her for five years but she's older than that obviously. I think she's a 91 or a 92..." But she's back over to the large hunk of meat and she is shoving a metal rod through it to hang as a spit over the fire to roast, the area will smell of cooking meat very soon! She takes that kiss very happily from Leif but then watches as he throws the poor wolf to her doom. Becks chuckles and shakes her head and jokingly says to Jackie "I have to tell him the SAME thing when he's in his wolf form." But then Leif is taking off his shirt and that grabs her attention quickly. Her cheeks color but a big smile spreads across her lips just the same.
5/25/2022 23:16:20 Jackie looks back from the car, glancing between the couple a few times before looking down at her hands where they're clasped before her. Then she glances up towards the spring and the splashing Freya, and heads in that direction to see if she can perform a rescue fishing operation.
5/25/2022 23:20:17 Freya AWOOOOOOOOS with distress that's CLEARLY nothing but drama. Leif shakes his head. "No ma'am. You stunk up my truck and you weren't even inside." He hears Becks and glances over his shoulder, giving her a playful sort of stink eye and then looks back to the wolf, who AWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOS so sad much drama OMG treated so bad, but she's paddling around toward the edge of the spring to find her way out. Jackie gets a grin. "She's fine, by the way. She's a drama wolf."
5/25/2022 23:25:53 Becks grins when she sees that Jackie is going to try to rescue Freya. "Oh she's not fine, clearly Leif here is trying to drown her. Poor Freya. She'll just have to have an extra portion of this meat tonight after Jackie saves her life! " she can't keep the amusement out of her tone though.
5/25/2022 23:33:19 Jackie isn't sure if she's being messed with or not, but just decides to focus on helping Freya out of the water before worrying about the rest. She heaves the sad sounding wolf up to where her paws can find easy purchase on the rocks, then turns her face away from the imminent shaking spray of water from fur. She then heads back to the fireplace, keeping her gaze low on the fire and cooking meat.
5/25/2022 23:43:14 Leif snorts at Becks. "Clearly. So abused. Look at her." At the mention of meat, Freya stops her awooing, looks Jackie straight in the eye and AWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOS her poor little heart out and almost tugs Jackie into the water as she struggles to get out. Jackie gets sprayed with water, but she also gets a bestest buddy and Freya sticks close to her. Leif laughs and shakes his head. "She's so spoiled," he says with a grin, not bothering with his shirt as he plops himself near Becks. "How was your day, Jackie? You settling in okay?"
5/25/2022 23:46:04 Becks laughs at the antics of the wolf and she says "Jackie dear, you now have a friend for life. Freya really is the best though. " She spins the meat on the rack so it gets cooked evenly though when Leif sits down beside her she seems all too happy to have him close. She leans into him a little but looks to Jackie to hear her answer.
5/25/2022 23:49:21 Jackie staggers forward away from the pool, raising her hands to squeeze some of the excess water from her hair. She looks up at the pair, a chagrined expression on her face. "What? Oh, me? Well, I got to see some of the sights in town yesterday. Reno showed the Brazilian style steakhouse, where I almost ate too much. Other than that, I think I'm adjusting well enough?"

His tummy rumbles and Freya turns to GROWL at it. It growls back. Freya plants herself right in front of Jackie. That's her protector. She will protect her Savior from being eaten by Leif's belly. 5/26/2022 0:04:32 Becks turns the meat again, the scent of it's cooking filling the air around them. It will be done soon! She smiles at Jackie and says "Reno is a good guy. I take it you and he are really hitting it off? I have noticed he's been a great deal more chipper these past two days. " When Leif reaches for her she is all too happy to lean right into him, making it easier for his place to find a place to rest. She leans over and kisses his cheek but then looks back over to Freya and chuckles "You are the mightest of them all, sweet one." she tells the wolf.
5/26/2022 0:11:06 Jackie slides around the fire to an open seat, her gaze avoiding Leif and Becks as she settles into a warm place by the fire. She stares deeply into the blaze for a while before a sniff of cooking meet drags her eyes up to the spit. Becks's words draw her attention back to the non-food based reality, her cheeks heating up at the implication. "Reno? What? No, I thought he was already..." Her face tightens, her jaw clenching along with her fists as she looks back down at the fire, unable to keep her body from shaking slightly. "No. I did not come all this way for... To get into that."

"Disapp- No, Reno's... fine. Not his fault. I just thought he had already found... Nevermind, that's none of my business." Her face twists in a wry fashion as she chuckles darkly into the light of the fire. "Oh, I'll bet my father would have loved that though. Fucking day one, even..."

"Okay the meat is done, lets get to cutting this thing up. It smells great." but she hops back on the Reno discussion even if she's easing up on poor Jackie "Reno has a close bond with a new kinfolk in town. He calls her Meigui but I don't remember her real name. She seems to have suffered some great trauma that has left her in a bad state though I don't know what kind. Reno has a good heart and he wants to help her through that trauma but that is all I am aware of at this time."

She stands up and takes a few steps toward the cutting board area. "I... didn't know many details. Just that he was connected to someone here who needed some help, but someone else was trying to get him to leave her alone? It sounded kind of messed up, from the version I heard."

She then nods at what he says about rank and she comments "Well, that aside if the girl has suffered a great trauma I doubt she is looking for such anyways at this time. Healing is incredibly important." She stands up though and using a rag she pulls the spit off the fire. She sits it upright with a grunt and begins to cut off chunks of steaming meat onto plates. "I do not believe anyone is trying to get him to leave her alone. From what I have heard they are simply trying to ensure her healing continues and he does not get distracted from his goals for Gaia. Emotions are funny things though and he may feel their caution is them making him leave her alone. I know he had been qutie upset about it." Sadness for Reno in her tone. "I know he has the best intentions and the sweetest of hearts. I really think he's going to do very well here. I know I adore when he comes to visit."

Like, Reno's fucked up a few times here and there and he's been told, to my understanding, that this girl doesn't really NEED that kind of attention at all and she needs to do her own healing and he needs to rank up a little bit before anything romantic happens. It's concern." Then he wrinkles his nose and sighs. "I've joined the adult table."

But he didn't, obviously. From the story, he seemed to think that was the right thing to do. Stay, I mean. And it felt like that to me, too. But ultimately, not really any of my business. Shit, I probably shouldn't have said even that much."

She smiles at him though and says "Sometimes in the heat of the moment it is hard to fully understand what someone is saying. Reno is only a Cliath of course he has had slip ups now and then that is how one learns. How many times did Misty fall before she learned to walk hmm? Patience and guidance is what she needed till she found her way. Same with sweet Reno. He will find his way. I am confident in that. You wait and see he will rank up in no time. There is a passion I see in him. " Becks always sees the best in everyone! Well... mostly everyone. The next plate is given to Jackie, this too having a decent amount of meat on it but clearly not as much as Leif. "I believe it was the best decision to stay. he had mentioned to me that he had thought of leaving. I saw all of the stuff packed upon his bike. We had a long discussion about it. He is looking for a place to belong, acceptance and guidance and it is the duty of the garou and kin here alike to make sure he gets that. We serve each other. This is how our nation gets stronger. " but at her last words she winks at her and leans in to say quietly to her "If you don't want to talk about that we can go back to talking about how much you blushed when I mentioned you liked Reno... " oh now she's teasing! But she at least kept her voice low. Over to Leif though she laughs at the adult table comment and she says "Well, welcome my love, it is so good to finally have you here!"

I ALSO came across him with his shit all packed, dragged him out here, we chatted for a while. I told him that running away without giving things a chance will never get him into any community, that there were always going to be SOME problems and tucking tail and taking off won't solve any of them. Or something like that." Then he wrinkles his nose at Becks again and steals ANOTHER kiss. "I want my sippy cup."
5/26/2022 1:30:42 Jackie brushes some stay hairs back behind her ear, looking down at her plate gratefully and not seeming to be begrudging the larger helping granted the much larger person. The corner of her mouth twitches at Becks's teasing, but at least at this point she's prepared enough to maintain some self control. "Thanks for dinner, Becks. And for... well, all of y'all's hospitality. I really do appreciate it. And yeah, I kind of told him something similar last night. You probably phrased it better though."

"I'm glad you both had that talk with him. A good support system is always important. " That second kiss is 'stolen' and once more she returns it, placing her hand upon the side of his face this time and leaning a bit more into him. "You want mead? "She asks him but then asks Jackie "Would you like some too? " She shakes her head though when Jackie thanks them for hospitality and she says "You have a home here if you want it, Jackie. What is our's is your's really. It's not hospitality really it's family. We are so glad you are here. "

"You're welcome here and I know we put you in the little A-frame, but that's just temporary until we can get a cabin all cleaned up for you." He shakes his head to the mead, possibly the first time he's EVER turned one down. Ever. "I'm okay for now, baby."
5/26/2022 1:56:35 Jackie looks to the mead, then visibly relaxes and nods. Then she glances back at her car and the A-frame beyond it. "Yes, mead would be... awesome, actually. I'm not going anywhere else tonight, so drinking would be good. And the cabin is just fine. Really, I've lived in smaller apartments back East, and it's way more room to stretch than in my car, which makes it a luxury after my trip here." She takes up the cup of mead and draws down a deep draught, then looks up and finally makes eye contact with Leif and Becks. "I just... I just want to be able to contribute as myself, help out with my hands, my mind, you know? I mean, I hope that can fit here. I didn't... Well, I didn't mesh so well with kin back home so much."

Like, you won't immediatly know exactly why you're here, but you'll come to figure it out pretty quickly. Prospect isn't like anywhere else." He has just about made his way through all the food, then he wipes his mouth and leans over to smooch Becks. "I'll let you two ladies chat. I'm going to go check on Misty."
5/26/2022 2:05:46 Becks grins as Leif agrees she is family but when he turns down mead she shifts her gaze to him and looks him over with just a hint of worry in her eyes but then he calls her baby and she all but melts. After she's made sure that Jackie has her mead she sinks down to sit in Leif's lap, careful not to knock over his plate. "She kisses his temple but then she looks back to Jackie and says "I can't wait till I can drink mead again! I miss it. You are a mechanic yes? That is going to be incredibly helpful. and like Leif said, you fixed the plumbing. There is always something folks can do around here. You can teach mechanics to younger one's too or anyone interested. " She looks to Leif though and says "Its getting pretty late. I should head inside myself and get some sleep. Want to come tuck me in?"

She looks down into the bottom of it, surprised herself at how quickly she made the drink vanish. Perhaps she just really needed that right now? She sets the mug down and stands up. "Ok, thanks, it was really... nice to get to talk to you like this. Good night, and see you sometime soon?"
