The County

xxxxxWhen the County of Lion's Reach was still known as the County of Radiant Hope, a Sir Leras came to introduce himself and provide a flurry of activity. It should be little surprise that one of House Fiona immediately stepped forward to take care of matters such as holidays, Beltaine in particular. Following this he began work on a diversity acceptance parade that was to coincide with Highsummer and the creation of The Sideshow. The Sideshow was a wonderful success, bringing in Dreamers from all over and Leras was able to promote Faerie causes at the new glamorous hotspot.

xxxxxThere is also the illustrious Faerie Market that he conceived as a pet project, working relentlessly to foster the appropriate contacts and alliances with nearby nobles for materials and workforce, not to mention advocating with it to the Duke and Duchess. Rumor has it that some of his own resources, not to mention a great deal of political favor went on the line with it. The project however has thus far been a success. Leras was granted the title of Baron at the start of its creation, with his wife, Ionae, being elevated shortly thereafter for her work with the Tournament of the Lions and trade agreements.

xxxxxThe success of Baron Leras and his wife continued with their hard work and devotion. They were rewarded for their vision and dream by the blossom of Lion's Reach at the Sideshow. While it is speculated that Leras' was striving for a freehold from the very start with his planning of The Sideshow, the result was far beyond all comprehension. From this new seat, the pair of Fiona continued their advocacy for the Dream, only to be hindered by the return of the maddened previous Countess Kelira. The Duke and Duchess however supported Leras and Ionae, promoting them to Count and Countess. During their first Court, by popular vote, the County was renamed to The County of Lion's Reach.

By the Blood

xxxxxJust as those of House Balor have Fomorian blood, so too does Leras. He is an anomaly however, evidently able to assume his Seelie Legacy no matter the blood of his origin but so too does the chill of banality, and touch of cold iron, affect him like any of his kith. This potentially could be due to his origin being from the blend of Tuatha and Fomorian, a point that is highlighted with his full title.

xxxxxThe issue of deformity is a questionable thing, for his attire is usually concealing and often times with his irritation his wife can be found whisking him away. There are particularly serpentine, or draconic qualities about him however, seen manifesting particularly with moments of ire though it also rears its head seemingly at random. Perhaps it is that he has none. There are stories of lovely Fomorians after all such as the famous Elatha, father of Bres with his epithet of 'the Beautiful', and this appears to be his unique path.

xxxxxWith his blood being as it is, it was expected that he would be joining House Balor and do great things for the House. He did not, instead enduring a vicious Fior to join House Fiona and serve as Lion instead of Serpent. While he does appear to understand the plight of House Balor he is not entirely sympathetic, steadfastly remaining apart from them.
