Patrol! Dawn. It was supposed to be Hjalmar, Jo, and a couple of others, but Bryan and Dragomir got shoved in instead and the lucky NPCs got to take a shift off! Isn't that nice. Bryan was even put in charge of the patrol because he's a good boy and has earned the right to do so - mostly to see if he fucks it up! Bryan wanders along with Dragomir, just chatting away, unarmed, wearing one of those gaudy 1980's sweatbands and two around his wrists. ".... and so now, instead of dealing with one raccoon with six babies, I have like 40 lazy motherfuckers coming to beg at my door all the time.."

Hjalmar arrives shortly as well. He though. Is not unarmed. His massive axe with its frost rimed edge is in its holster. A smile adorns the tall man's face as he approaches. "Hello there!" He does not mind having someone else leading the patrol this time. For he too, likes to observe how one deals with leading them. And to watch how they fare. "That is quite a big number of raccoons then... How did they come to beg at your door?" A look of curiosity crossing his eyes.

Johanna was waiting here to see who was being sent in to go with them, but stops and blinks a second. A smile on her face, "Well, this is a surprise." She nods to both the men and then says to Hjalmar, "Looks like we lucked out with these two." She takes a step forward toward Dragomir and Bryan and says, "It is good to see you, both of you. Shall we get going soon?"

Dragomir walks along, the man wearing clothes he used to wear and yet somehow seems uncomfortable in them - or at the very least not used to the 'natural' style. "Over the last few decades, many inventions have been made for dealing with raccoons. Though they tend to be lethal." He shakes his head, and then turns to look towards Hjalmar at the question, and then to Johanna and adds, "Many judges and a singer of tales."

"Yeah, not what I want to do. I just want the little fucks to do their share. They do 'snake patrol' because that's the deal I made with the mama. But.. I've never seen a snake out there. SO now they ALL prowl around for afew minutes, then come to get food. I could have my own raccoon minions if I wanted to." He grins, then focuses on the group. "Nice group. Alright. We're going a little off the usual path. There was a Wyld attack down in the southwest corner. It's been carefully burned and cleansed. We're going to head that way for follow up, make sure that nothing awful's happened down there. Everyone got what they need?"

Hjalmar grins at that. "Sneaky bastards." He chuckles, and then nods. "Alright. Sounds good to me. I have all that I need, right here." He pats the handle of his axe. "Let us see what we can find."

Dragomir offers, "Been a few decades since I been on patrol. I'll follow your lead." The man slips his hands into the confines of his pockets and walks along. The new moon has him rather calm, despite his rage. He nods at Bryan and says, "Sure, everything I need." Though the man sure doesn't appear to be carrying or holding anything.

Johanna opens her hands up to Dragomir, "We will see how that configuration works, now won't we?" She nods to Bryan, "Please lead on, Chases-the-Wind." She does not have anything visibly with her, but obviously, looks can be deceiving.

"Lupus. I don't expect problems. I expect this to be just a normal boring-ass patrol, but we'll see." Nothing's Ever boring and normal for Bryan.

One everyone's shifted, the patrol can begin. Everything is chill on the way, though there's a brief chipmunk assault of acorns raining down on the Ragey Garou. Bryan howls at them and they scatter. Once they're down in the area they're supposed to be checking out, there is, indeed, a large ring of scorched earth. <<Fan out a little. Let's check the perimeter and go fr--->> There's a brief howl, unfamiliar to anyone here, <There are hu--->> and then a shot rings out. Someone's out here with a gun.

Black and brown fur sprouting over his body and a strange sound coming from within. Hjalmar shifted into his wolf form.

Dragomir transforms into a good-looking silvery white wolf.

With a crunch of bones and stretch of muscles, fur flies and wind swirls. Johanna becomes a wolf

ShieldBrother is about to fan out as ordered, when that howl is heard. His ears perk up, as does his head, trying to determine the direction it came from. And then! A shot rings out. This makes him go lower to the ground in order to make him a smaller target. He looks around for the source of the shot and howl. <<Careful.>> He snarls as he searches.

The silvery-white wolf follows along, moving around to flank low to the ground. The white ears lift high, listening to the area around as he moves. The wolf summons the power of Luna's Armor to shield him.

Starchaser keeps cool about it and lowers down a bit when they hear the gun shot. She continues to search a bit, but calls upon Luna as well to protect her, and to resist pain.

It came from that way. Over there, further southwest. Starchaser knows EXACTLY where they are. She can practically smell the gunpowder. She's all but zoomed in to their positions. <<Spread out. We're going to circle them and check it out.>> There are a few other howls, spread out in the background that everyone can hear. Not 'words' just lupus kin creating a distraction.

ShieldBrother dips his head in acknowledgement and moves out under the cover of the howling. He moves as fast and low as possible, circling around the designated area, trying to gain sight on who's shooting there.

Tactics have changed for Dragomir over his time away. He is quieter, and though he moves with the others - he is not used to operating as a pack anymore. The silvery white wolf pauses, focusing his senses far beyond what others can, to see and hear as though he was there, instead of here.

Starchaser does track down exactly where to go. Keeping in that spread out circle, she has her eyes open and alert to find the target. She is ready for whatever they find, calm, and deliberate as she stalks toward the target they search for.

Two sides. One with Dragomir and Hjalmar, the other with Bryan and Jo. Chases the wind circles his partner to the left while the other two circle around the other way. As you circle in closer, there is a strong scent of wolf blood and there are other wolves, circling here as well, trying to find a way in toward the hunters.

<Silver> the silvery white wolf growls as a warning to the others, though he doesn't explain further. The wolf leads forward, and then growls, <Three hunters, rifles.> The wolf waits for how Bryan wants to proceed with this.

ShieldBrother hears the warning growl and takes it into account... These humans know more than normal hunters at least... Bad news. Having reached a good position, he awaits the order.

Starchaser waits as well for the orders. With three hunters and at least a downed wolf to check on, they need to take this carefully.

<<Silver? Well, fuck a duck on a Tuesday. That means they know what we are. Hispo or crinos. Whatever you're comfortable with. If they have silver, they don't leave this area. Eye of the Storm, ShieldBrother. Hold your positions. Starchaser and I will get their attention and you attack from behind. Any wolves out there, keep them clear and have them run second string if they survive first strike.>>

ShieldBrother growls his acknowledgement to that order and awaits the opening to be made for their attack.. He wills himself to shift as soon as they attack.

Sickening ripping and stretching sounds are heard as the transformation takes place and ShieldBrother becomes a huge murder machine

With a crunch of bones and stretch of muscles, fur flies and wind swirls. Starchaser becomes a dire wolf

Starchaser shifts up to hispo and with a close of her eyes she concentrates a moment. Appearing above her head are 7 DOZEN paper butterflies that she sends right toward the Hunters. They engulf the area around them, serving as quite a distraction for her target.

Silvery white wolf snarls violently, shifting and growing swiftly in size and shape - taking a horrifying war form

The silvery white wolf hears the order, and he bounds forward towards the correct position and shifts massively into crinos form. A clawed hand reaches out into the air, summoning a crystal javelin out of thin air which begins to radiate and glow. He starts running towards the flank position, timing his attack for precisely when they're distracted.

There is a sudden blur forward, as Eye of the Storm leaps up into the air and comes suddenly down into the mix of the Hunters. A low a brutal snarl, as the Javelin is thrust into the chest of the closest hunter with a brilliant flood of light. The crinos werewolf growls out, drawing attention to him as best he can now.

Starchaser bursts forth from where she was with Bryan, and takes her claws to the first one she can, and rips and shreds fast and furious at him. Her judgment is swift for him, as he has no chance at all with her today. It may seem overkill, but what is left of him is not going to recognizable.

As Eye of the Storm stabs the dude, Chases the Wind follows up by ripping out the guy's throat. He falls and the big shaggy dire wolf spins to look for something else to murder, his whole entire face dripping with blood

Hjalmar comes in with a war cry on his lips, his axe swings and connects.. A hit that seems to barely hit at first. But when his target flops down, one side to the left, the other to the right. It seems that the hit was far more effective than on first sight.. Looking down at both halves, both sides seem cauterized. Not by fire, but by frost. He looks around for his next target.

Starchaser senses around and something does not seem right. She steps over the dead hunter and chuffs >> Not sure what... something moved out there. In the trees. It's high up. << Her eyes still searching for it.

Eye of the Storm stands over the body, shaking it off the end of his javelin now that it is dead. He turns his head to look around, peering with predatory eyes around the area for another threat. He growls lowly, "A wolf has been wounded.. and the hunters slain. It appears quiet." He turns his head to look into the direction that Starchaser indicates there is movement - extending his senses far beyond.

Hjalmar growls as his hackles rise even further. <<Can try and heal wolf. Give cover.>> And with that, he strides over to the downed wolf. <<Need to focus.>>

>>Where? I don't see it. POINT!<< Chases the wind launches himself into the air in the general direction that people are looking. He's just, ya know, flying

Starchaser points as she does in that dire wolf form and watches Chases the Wind fly? She's seen something like it before (SpiderJourney) but this? She watches to see just what he finds.

The big bad wolf that is ShieldBrother is about to go over to the downed wolf in order to help it. But then, his attention gets pulled back to the new danger. It infuriates him, and he uses the power of his axe in order to smite his target.. But misses.. Barely.. But still misses.

Eye of the Storm sees the creature and conveys, "Another, in the trees." Readying his spear he turns to see Hjalmar's axe send ice spikes instead of healing the wolf. There is a momentary growl, but he hurls his spear all the same towards the target in the trees and starts running forward.

There is a shriek that is let out from the tree as the javelin is hurled through the cloth. And then another that sort of.. warbles in the air, felt more than heard. Bryan, in his path of flight, wobbles a little in the air and paws at his face, but keeps right on going. <<KILL IT NOW!!! It almost shut me down!>>

Starchaser checks on the wolf while the others are going after what is in the trees. >> Hang on, I can help. Hold still. << She has to adjust after her first attempt to it being a wolf, not Garou, but is able to get herself straight and heal the wolf most of the way, but not totally. >> That should be better. Just stay down while they take care of what is in the trees. <<

Clearly having had enough of this, Eye of the Storm charges forward. He springs forward, leaping up into the air - vertical leap, eat your heart out Michael Jordan. A bone bladed dagger glints, and he thrusts it into the chest of the creature with the full force of his body weight hurled into it, to knock it out of that tree. Eye of the Storm just doesn't seem to play well with others.

After his first attack, ShieldBrother now knows where to aim. And on his next attempt, he shoots true. Hitting the target up in the trees firmly. He then goes to stand in a defensive posture around the wolf as Johanna is healing it.

Yeah, that's a little too much for just about anything. It wasn't expecting Eye of the Storm to come from the ground. Not THEN anyway. Bryan is still in flight, but he draws up short as the cover, already ripped from the javelin, and the ice bolts and then Dragomir's bad-ass butter knife, falls open and out topples a thing. For a moment, it looks very much like the tree, which added to its camouflage, but now the branch it had the grip on is released and it tumbles to the ground, causing further damage upon impact.

And the wolf, who was very near death, struggles up to its feet after the healing. It nudges Starchaser lightly and keeps itself right between the two of them

Starchaser takes a defensive stance now herself, keeping watch around for anything else that could be coming after them or be out there.

Eye of the Storm lands on the ground with that thing, drawing the fang dagger out of it and slipping it away. He motions his hand to dismiss the Javelin before he turns to look around and scan for any other threats.

Eye of the Storm transforms into a normal looking human man.

Starchaser takes some time, but finally gets a read on the trail. >> This way! I found where the vehicles must have come from. << A look to the wolf, and then to Bryan. >> What of the wolf, Chases-the-Wind? <<

ShieldBrother looks to the Wolf, now that things have calmed down for the moment. A nod to Starchaser is given. <<Good work Starchaser.>> Then to Chases-the-Wind another nod. <<Aye. On it.>> And with that, he strides over to the creature's corpse. And then to the dead humans, all of them are being deposited in the burned circle.

"I got the wolf," Bryan says as he comes back to Homid. You two go track the vehicles. Me and Shield Brother will stay here and get everything cleaned up and take care of the wolf." With all the shifting, the wolf is starting to look uncomfortable. There are lupus kin sort of converging a little around the edges now that things have calmed down and the wolf looks up at Bryan, then over to the wolves. He nods. "Yeah, go," He says aloud, pointing, and the wolf takes off, limping but pretty much okay.

Dragomir transforms into a good-looking silvery white wolf.

Eye of the Storm shifts down to his wolf form, padding back towards the scene and hears the commands. The wolf turns, and bounds off to track the scent through the wooded area. Keen senses sharpened only more by the transformation.

Starchaser takes off with Eye of the Storm, determined to see this through.
