Meeting up to go out for the night, Wick meets with Tabin at the Artist's Guild when an unlikely face emerges. Caleb, a Clurichan of Tabin's pasts promises to send him back to Arcadia and rescue him from the clutches of Earth. Two Dauntain emerge from the shadows and attack Wick and Tabin - only saved by the accidental arrival of the cashier looking for her purse.
12.1.2020 First Mission Church
Deducing the location of the Dauntain band, Evie, Tabin and Wick make for First Mission Church in the Prospect suburbs. A church under renovation, Evie confronts the Dauntaun to stand toe to toe against Caleb in a battle of wits while Tabin and Wick are hunted by a dangerous Sidhe. Caleb informs Evie of his revelation, that Banality is the key to the future and that through the Black Knight, he has seen the Dreaming's intent. Falsely convincing Caleb of her succumbing to Banality, Evie receives a Bane Dagger, a cold iron dagger meant for Tabin, and goes off "to hunt her friend". The three, together, escape the Church with the knowledge gained.

The royal herald of Pacifica arrives with a dictum from the Royal Freehold of Caer Redwood.

Among his crimes are: The subjection of several Kithain to Banality, up to and including the true death. The willing and knowing crime of fostering the dreaded Dauntain. The destruction of the Freehold of Caer Cratolum, in Salem OR, by subjeting it to Banality. The use of his title to shield the Dauntain, who committed their own atrocities against Kithain and the Dreaming.'
'The rescued Duke of Sunstone has pronounced that TABIN MURPHY, be granted a DUCAL PARDON for all crimes and misbehaviors and is known as a FRIEND OF SUNSTONE, to be welcome at all Freeholds and Glens within the demense of the Duchy of Sunstone.'
The Ducal Lottery of Sunstone, due to this edict above, has been rendered moot.
