Ancient Egyptian
On the MUSH this +note is named AncEgyptian.
Vic can understand Ancient Egyptian and might be able to make herself understood in it but, unlike the other languages she knows, she hasn't learned it herself. Instead, it is that her Avatar knows it and will translate it in her head for her.
Appearance
This is a public note.
Vic's Appearance attribute is rated at 4 with "Alluring" as its specialty.
Avatar
Vic's Avatar is usually a silent partner, almost acting like a Technarc's Genius rather than an Avatar in the normal sense of the term for a mage, often limiting his interactions with her to guidance that comes in the form of unvoiced impulses and instructing urges. When her Avatar, who asked her to refer to him as Wordsworth during her awakening, speaks to her he sounds like Tim Curry doing the Outer Limits Control Voice and on his infrequent visual appearances he looks like Tim Curry as Wadsworth from the 1985 movie "Clue".
Although Vic is unaware of this fact at this time, Wordsworth is, in actuality, an avatar (in the sense of a manifestation of a god) of Thoth, the Egyptian god of knowledge, magic, science and writing.
Compulsion
Vic is compelled, either due to her own personality or pressure from her Avatar (above), to never turn down an opportunity to learn something new, no matter the cost. This compulsion is purely psychological in nature allowing Vic to attempt to resist it with a Willpower check at a difficulty of 8 (6 + the point value of the Flaw).
Cybernetics
Vic, coming from an alternate Earth with cybernetic technologies commonly available and accepted as part of the consensus, has two cybernetic implants: ocular enhancements and a timekeeping implant. These are represented on the sheet as two merits and a background trait which are identified below along with the description of how they work/are represented ICly.
- Ocular Enhancements: While Vic still possesses her natural eyes, nanotech circuitry has been grown within them which augment her visual acuity in a number of ways. Firstly, they provide her extremely sharp vision (reducing the difficulties for all vision rolls by two-points). Secondly, this technomagical augmentation allows her to shift her senses to see in low-light conditions by drawing in more light or in total darkness via thermographics (this latter also can be used in any way thermographic scans can be); due to the first effect her eyes will occasionally shine like a cat's in certain lighting situations while the second effect causes them to faintly glow red (similar to the Level 1 Protean discipline ability "Eyes of the Beast."
- This is represented on the sheet by the Acute Vision (1) merit and Blessings (2) background traits.
- Timekeeping Implant: This neurocybernetic chip grants Vic the effects of the Perfect Time rote.
- This is represented on the sheet by the Time Sense (1) merit.
Echoes
Vic's shadow often flickers like electronic "snow" (visual noise) on a untuned television; this effect can occur randomly but is triggered by extreme emotions also. It occurs more frequently if she has recently used magic of any sort.

Foci, Personal
Vic's Personal Foci for the Spheres she knows are the following:
- Internet Ready Devices: Vic is best at the Data (or Correspondence) Sphere with internet-connected computers or any sort of smart device.
- Medical or Scientific Analytic Devices: In order to use her Life and Matter spheres, Vic needs access to any of a variety of devices used to analyze the world (such as those seen here). (Also, when and if she learns Force this type of personal foci will apply to that sphere also.)
- Music: Vic's use of the Prime Sphere is best when she can hear music (can be done by singing or humming even as long as what she is doing doesn't otherwise require her voice).
- Random Number Generators: To get the most out of the Entropy Sphere, Vic must employ some sort of random number generation. This can be as simple as flipping a coin to as "complicated" as running a custom made RNG application on a computer or smart device.
Standard Foci are included in the Paradigm Note
Linguistics
Vic grew up in a multilingual home which lead her to develop a love of languages and linguistics; she's also a bit of a word snob, having strong opinions about the correct pronunciation of certain words that have multiple "proper" pronunciations. Her linguistic ability has lead her to learn a total seven languages as described below along with the reason she knows them.
- English: Naturally, having grown up in North America (born in the USA and living there after it became the Incorporated States of America after the Y2K Crash and the gang wars that swept the nation for nearly seven years proceeding it) and attended public schools though childhood, Vic knows English.
- Tagalog: Vic's mother and maternal grandmother are originally from the Philippines and spoke Tagalog at home (in the case of her grandmother, it was the only language she was truly fluent in as her English was severely broken), so she learned this language at the same time she was learning English.
- ASL: Vic's fraternal twin brother was born deaf due to a genetic defect. She learned sign language along with him as they grew up.
- Spanish: Vic heard a smattering of Spanish from her grandmother as a child but didn't truly begin to learn it until she took four years of it in high school and two terms of it in college as well.
- Klingonese: Vic's parents were (from her perspective) "always" avid Star Trek fans, her father was even a member of a Klingon Recreation Society. She picked up Klingonese from the shows and movies as well as her father and his friends.
- Japanese: In high school Vic was introduced to anime. Wanting to experience it in its purest form she learned Japanese so she could watch the subtitled form and MST3K the poor translation of the subtitles.
- Akashic Sign Language: After her awakening, Vic joined a cabal that included an old-school Akashic from before the Shattering (an event in the early Aughts in which most of the Traditions fell apart due to the Avatar Storm) who taught her and the rest of the group the Akashic sign language for private communications in the field.
Lores
- The Lore Notes are all separate notes but belong together in one section thus how I've configured this part of the page. They are in the order that the lore were learned. As they will occasionally need to be updated the format of their entry will be included.
Mage Lore
Vic is a mage. As such she knows everything expected of one (Lore Mage:3) with some possible differences and variations due to her alien nature (Anachronism Flaw).

Vampire Lore
As a mage, Vic was vaguely aware of vampires existing in her own world but, like the sleepers, she had little true knowledge of their natures. Since coming to this new dimension she has had new opportunities to learn about them.
On 26Aug2020 Vic watched Eloise's homemade educational video 'Noob 101: Vampires Suck' in the basement of Prospect Roasters and picked up the basics. (Lore Vampire:1)

Faulty Lore
The following lore are the ones that Vic has mistaken or twisted understanding of (they are all at 0 rank).
- Bygone Lore & Changeling Lore: Vic believes that the fay and mythic beasts no longer exist, the Order of Reason/Technocracy did too good a job on these beings leading them to long ago have gone extinct. This may even have been true in her world...
- Demon Lore: Vic believes that much of the sleepers' belief in demons is myth. Surely its just based on long twisted and malformed cultural memories of spirits.
- Fera Lore & Garou Lore: Vic know that shapeshifters exist of course, but she wonders how many are just sorcerers who specialized in that sort of magic? Also, even if there are other sorts of shapeshifters out there, they surely can't be well organized.
- Sorcerer-Psychic Lore: Vic knows of Sorcerers (she's now rooming with one) but has never really studied about them. This is something she plans to correct.
- Spirit Lore: Vic knows that spirits exist, of course, what do you think the Spirit Sphere interacts with.
- Wraith Lore: Vic knows that wraiths exist, she's known a Euthanatos or two in her past after all.
Missing Lore
The following lore are ones that Vic isn't even aware might exist yet, let alone have faulty knowledge of (as with the above, they are all at 0 rank).
- Kuei-jin Lore
- Mummy Lore
- Tribal Lore
- Wyrm Lore
Lore Hunter, Lore Sewer Dream Lore
Paradigm
Vic sees magic as the cheat code to the universe. Everything is information and information can be manipulated by those with the know-how. As such, magical effects begin with understanding, they progress though planning and formulation, then they conclude with a well-executed action or set of actions; basically like programming a computer to take a specific set of actions.
Vic's standard foci consist of the following:
- Electronic Devices: Computers, PDAs, calculators, smartphones and other smart devices are standard foci for Vic's magic.
- Language: Word choice, word puzzles, etc. whether spoken or written, Vic can use words to shape magical effects.
- Mathematics: Mathematical formulas can help Vic focus her mind and prepare for the channeling of magical energies.
- Music: Listening to, playing (no matter that she's not really good at it) or dancing to it, Vic can use music as a focus for her magic.
- Programming: Whether written on paper or electronically, Vic can use the preparation of a program to guide or supplement the effects she intends to enact.
- Resource Books: Sure, online resources are Vic's preference but information is golden and dead tree format is sometimes the best. The physicality of a book is very helpful with magic meant to affect something that is itself physical with a magical effect.
- Video Games: Playing a video game can be a form of meditation or an actual magical focus for Vic.
Shadow
I'm pondering how to set this, it will be a public trait.
SmartDevices
When Vic arrived in this world she had her laptop and smartphone with her. Both are Tandy-brand devices with extensive, after-market modifications built into them by their owner. They perform as well as any modern, state-of-the-art equivalent and have modular ports allowing her to connect them to various other electronics as well as being fully capable of wireless charging.
Stuff
In addition to her clothing and her smartdevices, Vic had a handful of other, incidental items in her possession when she came to this world. The most notable of these are a pocket knife with fold-out bit case (this) and a kubotan keychain (basically a sap).
