Magic is the inheritance given to every child of that name, and Joyce was only the latest daughter to take up the mantle of Witch under her grandmother's watchful eye. They took part in the Circles of the Verbena and wove their sorceries in secret, until a war began again on their kind. Joyce fled. Now, she lives in a crummy apartment in the downtown area of Prospect, California after a lengthy motel-surfing stretch across the American highways. With her loyal friend Sophia, she strives to make a living and thrive in this unfamiliar place. Hopefully it goes better than Salem.. She's a sorcerer -- tied to the Verbena at that. While she's not terribly open about her training, she's yet to find a Circle here, but is always interested in other magical beings..
