Howling-Wind isn't as confident navigating this terrain as he would be in the tundra. Even though its blizzarding out. Thankfully his tribe mate is much more familiar with the terrain and its peculiarities. Eventually the group reaches a small rise about a quarter mile from the hangar buildings and they can be barely made out in the distance.

Silvery White Wolf pads along with the scouts and chuffs <<We did an umbral sweep.. we learned that they are using proximity mines. Be careful where you step, and don't get too close. The Storm should keep you out of sight, but be smart. If you trip the alarm, get out of there immediately. There's over 30 soldiers there.>>

Like the wind is alert, always alert. Sometimes nose up, sometimes nose down, tail back, ears flat, sniffle snurfing along, clearly on a mission, watching where she's going. >>Roger that<< Halona churfs

Jake seems very pleased about the talens Journey gave Iris and continues to stay quiet as he assesses the situation. At the moment he's still in his homid form having crossed back over from following along, flying in the penumbra. He hasn't been offering any advice at all, simply observing and listening to the others. Jake now stands and watches, staring at the hanger buildings in the distance.

Howling-Wind nods dutifully and peers off into the distance >>Yes Alpha. I am interested in finding one of the patrols to shadow. To see if the weather changed the pattern from what the prisoner told us.<<

Sneak. Sneak sneak. Sneakity sneak sneak. Like the Wind moves... like the wind, really. In places with decent cover, she still does pretty well. Here? In the snow? Even with no cover? She's a fucking ghost. She circles around one side, creeping up ever closer to the most alert patrol, the one she thinks will make the biggest fuss and prepares herself.

Howling-Wind is not quite as invisible as his packmate but they are both Children of Great Wendigo, shadowing prey in a biting cold snow storm. These warmlanders don't have a chance. They continue their patrol unaware of their observers.

Having been warned to remain vigilant for the sensor net, Like-the-Wind and Howling-Wind are both able to maneuver around the detectors and keep on their quarry's trail almost effortlessly.

The soldiers are not as acclimated to the blizzard as the two wendigo but they are equipped reasonably well. They do look around and slow down a bit when they're around the lee-ward side of the buildings, prolonging the shelter as much as they can. Like-the-Wind happens to get close enough to hear some of their conversation, some complaining about the weather and the shorter shifts bringing folks off the ready reserves to keep up coverage.

Jake continues to keep quiet, watching Howling-Wind and Like The Wind sneak closer and closer to the facility. Every once in a while he glances over at Dragomir and gives him a slow nod.

Silvery White Wolf remains low, from the distance and watches his packmates use the snow to their advantage and sneak in. Admittedly, if it wasn't for the pack link he probably wouldn't even know where they are. He his silent, looking towards Jake for a moment, then back towards his mates once more.

Trailing the patrol last a long while and what they meant about shorter shifts becomes clear. They're only out in the snow for an hour but the pattern holds, they go fast and keep their heads down when they're in the wind and then slow down when they're out of it.

There is a parking area with some transport trucks and a single Lexus SUV half buried in the snow. No storage sheds or outhouses so any necessary 'facilities' and supply depots are inside the barracks. There are two doors, one locked and unused on the back and the one they come and go from on the side facing the parking area.

Silvery White Wolf watches carefully, studying the landscape and catches the SUV, <<We might be able to trip the alarm on that SUV as a decoy if we need to. Good spotting. Like-the-Wind, we need some more weaknesses and infiltration points. Howling-Wind, what are these guys relying on to stay warm?>>

Howling-Wind got a good sniff and was able to make some observations >>Layers. Wool and something fake. A different something fake for hands covers. They were not dressed by someone completely ignorant of the cold. I smelled kerosene from inside when the door opened and I heard a generator.<<

For additional infiltration points one easy one to spot is the parking area, the patrols all seem to cut in along the inward side of the parked vehicles, sheltering from the storm instead of being vigilant against threats coming from that corner.

Like the wind makes her rounds, reporting back over the packchat everything she sees. >>Where do you want me to attack, Alpha?<<

Jake looks at Dragomir again before his attention returns to the others infiltrating the grounds.

Silvery White Wolf offers over the packlink, <<We are not attacking now, look for weaknesses.. vulnerabilities.. things we can exploit New Moon. We are highly out-numbered and we need ways to better our odds. Just like your challenge... find the cracks in their defenses.>>

Silvery White Wolf adds, <<We have yet to see the cubs.>>

<<Parking lot is a weak point. They cut the corner>> Windy relays

Howling-Wind agrees with his scouting partner >>It is so Alpha, if we wait until the wind is coming at the corner here and approach with it at our backs they will be least likely to spot us. And while the border is patroled and the buildings themselves are locked the space between them is largely unattended.<<

Jake touches his forehead and begins his transformation into his four legged form. Soon a large wolf with raven black fur stands tall where the Elder was just moments before. He chuffs to Dragomir, quietly. >>I hate to say it but their soldiers probably have some silver ammo. Not all but some. That could be one of your biggest obstacles to overcome.<<

Howling-Wind looks around and considers >>To get eyes on the kin wolves and any cubs they've had in captivity we would have to breach one or both of the buildings. There isn't a way to do that currently that would avoid them noticing after we're gone. For the eventual assault I think coming with the wind, either on this corner or elsewhere, will be our strongest choice.<<

Silvery White Wolf turns his head to look towards the Black Wolf, and bobs his head slightly as though he expects it. It makes sense given their knowledge, and how well defended they are. <<May Gaia watch over us.>> He turns to look back towards his packmates and says over the Packlink >>Well done. Lets get out of here. We have an approach and we know their defenses. We will attack in the blind of the storm, and take their throat before they have a chance to react.<<

Like the wind retreats once the order is given, back the way she came with no fuss, though she continues to watch and be on alert for anything better.
