Welcome to Jurassic Ark

“Life will not be contained. Life breaks free. It expands to new territories, crashes through barriers, painfully, maybe even dangerously.”
- Dr. Ian Malcom (Jeff Goldblum): Jurassic Park

Pax, on the other hand, keeps well away from the group. Clinging to the bark of trees high above the meeting packs, the beast's form is shadowed, and entirely difficult to spot with the naked eye. He tends to blend in here, and as such, the demonic thing simply tilts its head to listen as the meeting below takes place. Maybe he'll help if things go south! Or maybe not.

La Moneda is not being stealthy. Sure, Kurumi is 17 fucking feet tall and blazing red skin. But you have to give it to the Bygone to intentionally wear pink spandex just to pull aggro. Bright colors. Shiny. Light reflects from the dappled sunlight that might catch someone's vision blind if they stare at her at the wrong angle. She looks hungry, green emerald eyes darting around at the pair that her senses picked up upon. She keeps her oversized jaw shut, though, since her traveling companions might actually wish to converse. Instead of eating them...

Lowering himself to the ground and behind a tree, Kra'Chkk gives a glance over to his two packmates as they communicate silently through their pack gifts. Then, with a low huff, he stands up and makes his way towards the other Garou, lifting a paw upwards. ~~ Brothers! ~~ He calls out to the jovially. ~~ Did you see what tore through the lands here and through the gauntlet? Anyone know what happened? ~~ He looks like them, right?

The Spirals may not stand out as creatures of the Wyrm any longer but the group doesn't scream 'Gaian' based on huge demon monsters, so Barksdale is on alert. His rifle lifted and he aims down the sight at the new arrival. Covering Kra'Chkk as he hails the other Garou.

The giant red Oni girl hangs back, her massive kanabo resting against her shoulder. She isn't here for talking after all that is for others to do. She is here for the thrill of the hunt and to smash things with her club when the time comes. So, for now, she just stays out of the way and waits until she is needed.

The Theurge is a lanky woman, lean and /angry/ looking, hard with scars across her ribs and missing her right breast. Her skin is a darker umber shade but her eyes are the same unusual gleaming amber. As they're noticed others will see the Galliard who's chalky pale with unusual white hair and blue eyes, wrapped in a pelt stolen from some striped white beast. And lastly, the Ragabash who's a Sienna skinned male, bald and lanky wearing a loincloth made of what appears to be.. beaks.

"Yes, the beast was chasing the boy. Stupid boy. Never learned." It's the Ragabash that speaks the High Tongue.

The white one speaks next in an almost haunting tone, "You are travelers. There are tales of you in the old book but it's missing. Have you come so we may re-write it?" The Ahroun spits angrily. "You come in a time of peace. So peace you'll have." He is clearly not quite as outwardly trusting as his brethren.

A quick eye flick to Raquel and Kurumi. "Shrink down and hide in the back..." he says tersely to try and avoid the conflict certain to happen. His gun never wavers from its target.

Pembroke frowns, looking at the others. "Is the boy still here, or did he escape some other way?"

Dra'si'assh stays crouched, and while wary her lower posture might indicate less of a threat to the Garou present. It's she who speaks to the natives, her words rich with an almost unquestionable sincerity. ~~ We are travelers, from across the web between the worlds. We come on a quest. One of the great beasts found a way through to our world. We found the tear it came through, but we saw no boy. Perhaps he was eaten. We seek a way to close the tear and make sure there are no more. That mission comes first, but if there is time, we can share stories. ~~ Will they, though?

Giving a pat of Ramona's shoulder, Kra'chkk ensures his blade is re-attached to his hip. He looks cheerful. ~~ Peace you shall all have with us, for we have no desire to shed blood, only to find a way to fix the rift. ~~

There's a silent flapping of wings far above that likely escapes the senses of the creatures below as Pax moves from one tree to another, getting himself into a better position to gaze down upon the meeting with those predatory yellow eyes. Bat-like ears twitch, and claws curl into the wood as the slits focus in on the local pack of Garou. Reaching out with his senses, Pax hisses soft words beneath his breath, remaining hidden in the shadows as the others deal with the actual conversational aspect.

Every one of the Pack looks uncertain but Dra'si'assh seems to answer for them. The Galliard glances to Pembroke sniffing his direction curiously for only a moment. Her pale eyes fluttering though never really focusing on any one of them for long. ~~We'd suspected he stole the book.~~ The Galliard replies. ~~If he's dead we are most unfortunate.~~ The whole pack exhales almost as if in sync even in their biology.

The Theurge steps forward and offers a hand, ~~Come. We should let you talk to the elders. Your guests, all of them, are your responsibility. We're scouts.~~ Each of the other Garou looks a little chagrined at the Theurges words though they were not spoken with any venom or chill.

The pack half turn though they do so in a V formation to lead them towards the village moving along the tree line they'd used to get to the 'Travelers' in the first place. They do not look back to see if the others follow.

When the firearm-wielding team-mate commands the 17' tall Oni and the overly muscular woman of gold, it's not taken as well as one would hope. Especially in this prehistoric place, where Bygones roamed that land before Humanity began to Disbelieve. La Moneda turns to regard Barksdale, those green eyes normally full of enthusiastic cheer are now full of malice and spite, combined with an aching emptiness that comes with the bottomless hunger of Vorus' urges. Did he forget that she is also Chief Security Officer Russell back at the office? It's then that they are welcomed, awkwardly so, and thus the metallic Beast turns away without a word to follow silently.

The small pack of Pangean Garou leads the group towards the village as they go people peer out of the seed shaped huts, all ages but all bearing the unique earthen flesh tones of their kin ranging through everything from terra cotta to white, to soil dark and even an earthy beige. All bear the distinctive amber eyes of varying shades as well all upon the newcomers led by the Scouting pack.

The scouting pack breaks off all save the Theurge, the lean severe woman turning to ensure all of their guests are following after them as they take a turn between two large community style huts leading to a raised iff tiny home decorated in heavy furs, bone chimes, and thick thatch and giant feather-shaped leaves. The Theurge goes only to the threshold where the bridge that leads over the moorish ground that goes to the hut and she nods towards it. "She waits." Is all the Theurge says.

As he takes the lead, Kra'chkk sniffs the air a few times as he lumbers after the group in his stalky Crinos form. ~Thank you.~ He says to the Theurge as he makes his way towards the hut as he rocks his shoulders to loosen himself up. He gives a side glance to his New Moon packmate, then glances over his shoulders to the others. ~Wait here for a moment while we talk. It won't take long I'm sure.~

Pembroke follows the lead of his monstrous companions as they tromp through, accepting the order, but examining his surroundings.

Dra'si'assh follows along after the Ahroun, shooting fleeting looks his way as they walk. Her ears remain in constant motion as they stay tuned to their surroundings. As they come up to the dwellings and the bridge, she looks past it to the indicated area beyond and moves to cross it once directed. She leaves it to the native Garou to either invite or dissuade their companions.

La Moneda is following along, large hooves leaving prints in the damp ground. Strangely enough, it appears that the Theurge is speaking a language the Bygone understands. Unfortunately, when Kra'Chkk responds and turns to address the others in grunts, she doesn't have a fucking clue. "Who is 'she'?"

The Kinfolk would be allowed to pass should they wish, depending on how they interpret Izzy's order if they can. The Theurge, however, will stop anyone who is a 'visitor' and wait with them. She's a really great company; she just sits and stares as if the world at large had earned her disapproval simply by existing. The steps are simply made, primitive wood and bamboo knotted and tied together. They are strong enough thanks to their sheer volume to support the crinos weight of the packmates. Heavy hide curtains keep any light that might come from outside completely blocked and the wave of animal musk, amber and sex and heavy almost astringent herbal scent hits /everyone/ like a hammer once the curtain is displaced even a distance away. The inside is pitch dark and even in this cloyingly hot jungle is sweltering within.

As he breathes in the musky scents, Kra'chkk lets out a low chuckle as he casts a glance to his packmate as he pushes the thick curtains aside. He moves forward into the darkness as he looks to have his eyes adjust with a squint.

The Theurge just looks at La Moneda, no answers forthcoming yet.

Pembroke can't actually understand the orders, but sticks close to 'his' monsters, the Garou, but has to rely on gestures and direction when they slip into Garou vocalizations.

IN THE HUT: The hide falls back and it's hard to see anything at first until the eyes adjust to the light which is not provided by fire but by an almost greenish-blue glow of lichen which has been tucked into earthenware bowls that hang from the peaked ceiling of the hut. The woman inside bears a resemblance to the Galliard; pale of skin and feral looking. But her age shows as unlike her direct Kin her hair is yellowed instead of chalky white. Her eyes glow almost red in counter to the low light provided by the moss. Her flesh is ashen white with black tear marks that give her an almost cheetah like appearance; her nose iw hawkish and her jaw is cut strong beautifully making the older wolf a handsome profile. ~~Welcome. I've been waiting. Sit.~~

OUTSIDE THE HUT: The newcomers who haven't gone inside are drawing more attention which draws a crease between the Theurge's brows assuring that her disapproval reaches Grumpy Cat levels. In fact, she might even be this Theurge's spirit animal. A rainbow of people slowly come to the center of their clearing until the Theurge who's had a spiritual stick creeping farther and farther up her butt causing her shoulders and hackles to raise barks at everyone, "ENOUGH! Leave. Oona. You show the guests the boy's hut. Now." A mousey looking young male Kinfolk emerges from the crowd towards La Moneda nervously. "F-Follow me.."

Dra'si'assh makes her way inside the tent with one last look over her shoulder to make sure there's no trouble between the native and the Wyrmish expedition. No sooner is she inside than the Ragabash is doing her damnedest not to start panting to little luck. Fur is hot. Wyrm Hide is hotter. Wolves don't sweat. The pungent smells clogging up her nose don't help one bit. The oppressive temperature and the request to sit serve as all the encouragement she needs to do just that, and she sinks down to a crouching squat that's the best contorted Crinos legs can really manage.

Oona. Oooooooooooona. La Moneda would be crooning this new name in abject curiosity, but that overly developed jaw and the ravenous glare that gets leveled at the Kinfold is just, well?... Despite her obviously alien origins, the Bygone is still 5'8" unless otherwise provoked. She obeys and follows, considering that there was no direct order given by the quickly mounting tension of the Theurge to yours truly. What could be in the boy's hut, hmm?

Pembroke looks Moneda over for a moment, "Well, looks like we're going to be entertained by the boys while they make nice in there..."

As he stares at the Theurge for a few moments, Kra'chkk gives her a quick sizing up before he slowly takes a seat. ~Hello. I am Honors the Dagger for the Uktena tribe. Adren and pack Alpha. Thank you for the hospitality and safe passage. We need to seal the rift from this world to ours to ensure the safety of our realms. Will you know how?~

Thank you for the hospitality and safe passage. We need to seal the rift from this world to ours to ensure the safety of our realms. Will you know how?~

IN THE HUT: The woman's eyes focus on those inside and she speaks with a slow deliberate manner, her dark lip forming words that are spoken carefully. With meaning. Someone who is so used to her word holding the weight of her whole tribe that no syllable is misspoken. No inflection given that is not absolutely necessary. The skins she wears belong to big cats and the craggy leathers of giant gator-saurs. ~~I am She. You are Travelers.~~ The introduction if it was listened to is met with a simple reply. ~~ The Great Wyrm has spoken of you and has tasked She sends the Travelers to him. It is unwise to deny Him.~~ She says simply.

OUTSIDE THE HUT: The nervous mousey kid shifts back and forth and his claw colored hands twist nervously as he looks back at the Theurge who is still staring at him before he scampers off leading the rest of the group towards one of the outer huts. It's a bit smaller and less kempt than others and appears to be single occupancy but it appears to be empty of life though there are some things inside. Pax had been keeping his distance, mostly because of personal reasons. Reasons that involve being on a somewhat shorter fuse in this realm than most others. Regardless, it's not until La Moneda and Pembroke step into that small hut, away from the Tribe itself that the shadows coalesce within and the monstrous bat-like reptile that Pax has turned himself into solidifies within. Whether or not the boy is still in there is his business, really. And whether or not he stays if he is. "This is the place we saw." he hisses out towards Raquel, and Pembroke by extension.

Dra'si'assh pricks her slightly saggy ears towards the words of the leader, ~Spoken of us?~ She says between moments of panting. That sounds more like it surprises her than being summoned. ~Where can we find Him?~

La Moneda is nodding in agreement with Pax's assessment, before crouching down to examine the items left behind. Fanta. Coke. Bag of flaming Cheetos and a porno mag hidden under the bedroll for 'safe keeping'. Heh. "This human has made more than one trip. Means the rift has been open much longer than just one way for this. But, for how long?"

The large Ahroun keeps his features schooled as he casts a glance to Ramona, then back to She. He remains silent as his large arms settle over his broad chest.

Pembroke examines some of the bones, checking to see if they look like they might have been human. "The same rift, or can he open and close it?"

IN THE HUT: ~~He will find you.~~ Comes the return to Ramona's question as she blinks slowly looking between the two of them. ~~She will make sure none here interfere with you until the next Balance moon. However, Travelers must travel. ~~ The says directly in the primitive tongue her feral features bearing the same regal neutrality as her voice.

OUTSIDE THE HUT: There are human bones though all seem to be old, some bleached, none gnawed on or cut. Though there are some animal bones that bear such markings. The porno mag is from the 80's but that could mean just about anything at all.

~We wouln't intrude on your hospitality.~ Says Dra'si'assh to She. ~Or your protected territory. Which direction should we travel, so as not to disrupt your people? Before we go, I do have one question, if I may.~ And the heat doesn't fry the poor Ragabash's brain. She doesn't look one ounce of comfortable in that hut. ~The scouts spoke of a book that told of us, a missing book they wanted to rewrite. What is this book? We can look for it on our travels.~

Pax grunts softly, lowering himself down to all fours as he makes his way across to the porno mag placed beneath the bed. Snatching that little thing up, the creature grips a bone with his free hand, grip slowly grinding it into dust as he rolls back onto his rear and closes his eyes for a moment. "He is not on this plane." he explains, eyes still closed as he waves a hand. "I will see what else I can find." With that, the magazine is dropped, and a hand extends towards Raquel, one large claw extended as though he were asking for something. "Retrieve some blood from Pembroke for me, dear."

Pembroke blinks, and startles, and twists a little, but doesn't fight. "Really? I'm a doctor. I've had blo... oh, no sterile needles. Crap. Please don't cost me my arm. Any whiskey? For an antisceptic..."

When Pax makes his request, the Bygone crouching upon the ground turns in place to look up and regard Pembroke with a malicious grin. So many razor sharp, spikes of teeth, before La Moneda is on the Kin lightning quick. His mouth is covered as he's wrangled bodily over to the Nephandus with ease. Dextrous fingers clamp upon his bared wrist, stretching out to the caster before a thumb-claw bites and causes crimson pain to well up for him. Subtlelty is a bit more distant for the Bygone in the place. As well as manners.

IN THE HUT: She smirks. It's the first hint of her emotions on the subject still looking between both Iz and Ramona not favoring either one any long than the other. ~~The Travelers are their own people.~~ But then when Ramona asks about the book her feace drops back into nuetrality. ~~She is the latest in the line of She. She and the Tribe have long protected the Travelers Lore. It was given to She from which we were able to learn to draw words. As'ish has stolen it and given up himself. The Boy has the book. Find The Boy and find The Book I suspect.~~

OUTSIDE THE HUT: No one bothers those within the hut. No one cares about The Boy's hut anymore and it has other than a search for the book, been untouched.

Pax snorts softly at Pembroke's wishes but otherwise doesn't say much. He does, however, open his eyes after a moment with a soft hum of disgruntlement. "This plane is irritating." is all he says, as a claw is draw across the upper part of Pembroke's forearm, drawing blood to the surface that's quickly scooped up in claws and brought back to be licked from them. Yellow, reptile-like eyes lock on the other Kinfolk, and after a few moments... Nothing seems to happen. Whatever it was seemed to be something of a mystery.

may make it evident why he wears long sleeves n the heat. Bare flesh exposed, the scars became visible. His family plays rough, and this isn't the first time he's had to give blood for the cause or had some other injury inflicted. He does cry out at the slash. Sometimes being stoic just makes it worse after all.

What went wrong? La Moneda senses her lover's disdain, and she growls quietly before releasing the Kinfolk's mouth in order to fish out the jar of cocoa butter from her belt. Fingertips gather just enough for the job, and Pembroke's forearm is smeared and the continued contact with metallic skin causes the wound to seal shut. The Bygone narrows her eyes at the doctor before huffing in annoyance and letting him go.

Pembroke lets out a disgruntled 'fuck' as she releases him and treats the wound. "Oh, shit, that stuff's nice. Are your claws as... virulent.. as their's?" he asks with a jerk of his head to indicate the Garou. flexing and wiggling his fingers and admiring the work. "Somewhat was that supposed to do anyway?"

Inside the hut, Dra'si'assh turns to regard her packmate for a silent moment before turning back to She. For the moment she remains quiet, so the Ahroun's question can be answered.

Letting out a low rumble in his throat, Kra'chkk says, ~What if the boy crossed over with the book? What then? Is there not another way to seal the rifts if the book is lost?~

"It did many things, most of which were unsuccessful. The one that was, however, is none of your concern." Pax explains to Pembroke with a wave of his hand-paw-thing. "Regardless, this realm seems to interfere with my sight, and as such, it is less ideal than I had hoped." Keeping his seat, Pax leans back, sniffing at the air thoughtfully.

IN THE HUT: She looks confused at Kra'chkk. ~~She does not understand what you are speaking of.~~ It's a simple statement. She doesn't understand what Izzy's talking about. The primitive woman stares at the Travelers; simple concepts, deliberate actions. ~~The Boy took the book. Therefore The Book will be with The Boy.~~

"Siiii..." La Moneda purrs out, admiring the blood staining a claw and the red covering fingers used for healing. In all honesty, she's quite bored, and hungry, and eyeing Pembroke before suckling those digits of hers while they wait for the Nephandus to come up with a contingency plan.

~Sure. It was nice meeting you, She.~ Kra'chkk says as he pushes himself up to his feet, giving a nudge to his packmate's shoulder. ~Let's go find us a book.~ He says as he starts for the entrance.

Pembroke doesn't like that look, not one bit, and especially not like the look she gives the blood on her claws. "Well fine then. And it's not surprising. The 'Land that Time Forgot' thing is popular enough in fiction to know that whatever ways in and out are hidden until you reach them."

Pembroke considers changing his name to Spare Parts

Dra'si'assh will rise up to take her to leave along with her packmate unless otherwise stopped, giving her head a thankful dip to She as she does so.

INSIDE THE HUT: She continues to look confused. ~~Travelers speak strangely.~~ The primitive tribes woman does not move from her spot as the others get up to leave though she does reach down to take an earthenware jug from her side to drink from it. The other two are allowed to exit and the Theurge is just catching Oona by the shoulder and pointing to the newly emerged pack. "Show them to the others." Is all she says before turning on her heel and marching off.

‘’’’’BREAK’’’’’

Once the leave the tent, Kra'chkk looks to meet up with the others as he gives a sway of his arms back and forth to loosen them up. ~Hey guys. Where'd you get the porno from?~ That is the most interesting thing so far of course. ~Looks like we gotta find a book.~ He says as he gives a glance over to his Ragabash. ~Also, we got a meeting with Him.~ His ears flatten back. ~That part I'm still confused on.~

Kra'chkk's continued use of the Garou language falls on deaf ears. La Moneda is still browsing the glossy pages until the weird Chrinos makes hand gestures and grunts towards the damned thing. "Here." She replies in English, handing it over before turning towards the collected trash of Fanta, Coke, and Fiery Cheetohs containers. "Pax cannot scry the location of the Boy, so we need to find another way to hunt him down."

Dra'si'assh lumbers her Crinos behind towards the rest of the party, looking unpleasantly hot and sweaty after too long in a sweltering tent in an oppressive jungle and still sporting her gnarled Wyrmish hide. "Boy not matter now." She grunts and growls out a grating rendition of pointy-toothed English with a few dismissive hand gestures. "Elder Serpent calls. We walk." And there would be a talon pointed towards the closest path out of the village and into the unknown, and maybe it's just the garbled language that makes her next words more ominous. "He will find us."

They'd been given a week and were free to take as much or as little as they wanted, but it was clear other than feeding them and allowing them safety within the village they would not be getting any help from the tribe who they'd met. If it weren't evident enough in their words and actions it might be in the way that the boundaries of the village seem to have shifted and this hut landing just outside of it. Whoever the Boy was he'd been abandoned as a tribemate.

Eris rolls 1 (1 dice) vs 6 for 1 successes.

The seventeen-foot Japanese giantess also seems to have no comprehension of the Garou tongue. The Oni girl who has been obliged to wear her natural form by the primal nature of the realm has been keeping a bit of distance between her and the talks all the same. Here the primal lust and predatory nature wash off of her in waves, peaceful social interactions are probably the last thing she should be involved in in her current state. She takes a few long strides to stand over Raquel and Pax as she listens to Dra'si'assh actually speaking a language she can understand. As she looms over everyone it is also revealed that someone has likely lost a bet, Kurumi does, in fact, wear underwear.

Sh'raii in! Trent is currently a grey-furred half-shaven Crinos monster, with half of his head missing its fur (including the ear) medical staples in his scalp, a shaved chest, and missing rectangle of fur on his left arm, probably for injections. At his throat are his usual biomechanical fetishes, though he keeps itching at them with the knuckles of one of his hand paws. His tail is up and twitching, like, despite the difficulty, he's happy to be reporting for duty!

The weather continues to be brutal, it's hot, it's oppressive, the oxygen in the air makes it so thick they can almost drink it, and worst of all - it's /moist/. Everything seems to be in a perpetual state of 'wet'.

Giving a rumble in his throat, Kra'chkk will be relying on Pax for translations. He gives a look over to his Galliard, his eyes staring at the shaved chest, then lets out a low sigh in his throat. ~Let's get a move on and hope we don't get stepped on by a T-Rex.~ He says as he gives a motion of his paw. ~You're in charge.~ He says to Ramona.

There are several paths that lead out in several directions from the village itself but they all lead into the deeper Jungle. There's really no way of telling which way is which.. without some survival.

Dra'si'assh takes a short time to investigate some of the options, squinting skywards towards the canopy, sniffing into the wind, and who knows what else. Ultimately she declares with a grunt that a given path is north and there seems to be a passable course they can take. And with her being declared in charge of her pack for the present, the Ragabash moves to head in that direction.

La Moneda is fucking lost. Sure, they could all pick a random direction and just go with it, but the Bygone's senses are overwhelmed by this foreign ecosystem that she doesn't know where to start. When Dra'si'assh sniffs at the heavy air and then chooses her avenue of pursuit, she follows the Chrinos without much thought.

Sh'raii, too, is fucking lost. He's a classy corporate priss and is -entirely- out of his element. But if worse comes to worst, he could at least be fed to the dinosaurs. He tracks through the sauna after the Den Mother, pleased enough that at least she seems to know where she's going.

The huge Oni girl also follows after the Crinos as well, just behind Pax and La Moneda. Her giant spiked metal club resting against her shoulder, head nodding a few times in agreement with the assertion that this direction is north. North seems as good as any of the other paths to her if all they have to do is travel because they're travelers they might as well just pick a direction and go after all. She bears the heat as best she can but white cotton was probably a poor fabric choice for her dedicated outfit and as the journey wears on her crop top begins to become translucent from a combination of sweat and humidity, not that the Oni girl shows any modesty whatsoever, it's just uncomfortable.

As he follows after his tracker, Kra'chkk is swinging is silver sword about to cut through the foliage. He gives a rumble to his pack through their links.

They head along the path that takes them out of the village. The path half wends it's way through the thick undergrowth which might normally be tough and for certain the larger of the party may have to take point at times when the undergrowth would hinder the group. The undergrowth is so thick that it weaves itself into knots simply by the passage of the wind, wrapping and gripping at ankles, wrists, hair... Anything it can catch. In addition to the slog through the heavy undergrowth, there's the constant buzzing of insects to contend with along with the weather that puts a lot of strain on bodies unused to the severity of this type of weather.

As their time creeps on and they make their way through the undergrowth the temperature even in the shade raises to somewhere above the 100-degree mark and seems to give no signs of lowering or slowing. Even the rain is no relief as the heavy moisture that drops down from the vines and leaves is warm too.

While there's no indication of a large tree there are a few other things of note; first and foremost are the quicksand pits which are easily identified by their unique coloring compared to the loamy swamp earth around them. There are also fire jets that sputter and spit up from the earth with violent gaseous odors and bubbling mud pits. Thanks to the half moon though there do not seem to be any violent creatures out save the Travelers themselves. This trail lasts for some time.. leading them through the vast jungle towards the north. Nothing will stop their traveling unless they themselves choose to stop..

"The air is filled with predators that are potentially larger than her." the creature known as Pax explains, as he motions over his shoulder towards the form of Kurumi. Pax is rather tireless here, though the humidity and moisture does bother him a bit, with sweat rolling off the scales covering his form in heavy beads. Perhaps he should've made himself cold-blooded? A thought for the next time the form is needed in a place like this. "It's entirely possible that the landmass shifts locations around and shit. You never know with realms like this."

Dra'si'assh managed to soldier on despite looking about three steps from liquifying. Bless the Crinos stamina to endure hardships and discomforts, for all she does look slightly rounder in this form. It's probably not due to snapping at the hoards of insects that keep flocking to her odious hide, though the buzzing and clogging swam does little to help her mood and she spends a good bit of the trek growling and grumbling. What claws don't slice through, her Fang Dagger does.

Sh'raii forces himself to power through, despite the discomfort, the spirits within his biomechanical cybernetics were visiting upon him, and the bugs stinging and drinking from the shaved areas where his fur ought to be. Strangely the misery also seems to -invigorate- the Galliard, and he huffs, sweat dripping from his nose. His combat knife, to his credit, does tear a -magnificent- way through the brush, though....for what that's worth!

Kurumi continues to slog through the jungle, breaking trail for others when need be with her larger footfalls and the occasional swing of her spiked metal kanabo which seems to sunder all but the most obstinate obstacles. She does glance skyward curiously when Pax says there are creatures big than her flying above.

~It's fucking hot as the Father's balls here. I'll never come here again. This place sucks.~ Kra'chkk huffs as he slices again heavily, trudging on. He'll stick close to his two packmates through this adventure, trusting in Ramona's nose to lead them safely as he keeps his head on a swivel.

They will eventually exhaust themselves. Though some will be able to continue not everyone can continue to pull through this terrible trip through the umbra off without rest. City wolves do not understand, truly, what light pollution is. Even in the city, even when all the lights are off there's still some hint of light. Out in the boonies on earth, one can almost always look any given direction on the horizon and find lights. It starts to get so dark, especially with the clouds and canopy blotting out the moon and the stars, that it's nearly pitch black. Sounds continue through the night, the strange call of monstrous creatures.. Eventually, it gets too dark for even the Raggie to navigate safely. Thankfully Pax and Izzy know when that time is, when it's time for all good Travelers to call it an evening and make camp..

Sh'raii looks like he's going to keep going. City boy opera singer is used to concert halls, not the jungle. However, when he's given the halt command, he nearly collapses, tongue lolling out, breathing a heavy struggle. Everything is fine! He'll be fine!

Dra'si'assh keeps pushing her way through the trees, looking damned and determined to get to wherever the hell they need to go, even if she combusts along the way. If fire is even possible in this terrestrial ocean of humidity. By the time she's nearly walked into three trees, is wheezing like a bellow, and is being ordered to sit down, the Ragabash is just out of energy to argue it. She doesn't even give heed to what may be under her, she just drops down next to the Galliard. She's soaked to the bone, reeks, and if her tongue hangs any further out of her mouth she'll be eating the dirt.

Shifting down to his homid form, Izayah takes a look around as he secures his sword on his hip. "We need to stop for the night. We should try and clump up next to a group of trees instead of being out in the open. Trent and I will start yanking branches of thick leaves down and we'll just tie them about to use for cover. Try and limit something seeing us." He says, giving a glance to super Asian, then Raquel. "You know, best as we can."

When the group calls it quits for the night, La Moneda tries to find a good spot to bed down. It's much too late for assembling a shelter, so she goes for the next best option: Digging a hole. Or so she thinks. Razor sharp claws begin to dig into the jungle mud, thick as molasses when she notices a curious detail off to the right. It's a knothole! The filthy, mud-covered Byone is clambering over on all four limbs to it, before inspecting the hollowed out space. Her personal items are pulled off of herself and placed safely within the pouches of that bandolier belt before it's placed carefully inside. La Moneda ignores the other who are just now figuring out their next course of action and instead shrinks down into a rodent-like being before squeezing inside.

Oh. Cut branches. Trent doesn't slip down into breed form. He's bigger and stronger like this, and half of his fur is missing anyway. So he pulls himself up out of his dogpile with Ramona, and gives Izzy a nod, combat knife returning to his hand. It's meant for survival utility, so the back side of it can cut through the trees, even if it's owner is kinda clueless. "Jawohl."

The massive Oni continues to crash through the jungle helping to break the trail until the decision to stop reaches her and it is a welcome one. Kurumi for all of her inhuman strength and stamina is tired and soaked to the bone from not the most pleasant combination of sweat and humidity. She squats down for the moment bringing herself down closer to the level of everyone else as the preparations to rest are made. Her eyes drift back and forth between the leaf tying and the digging perhaps wondering if there is anything for her to do, but for the moment she just watches and rests.

Pembroke is definitely having some problems. Huff huff huff. He'd have tried to ply his healing skills in exchange for the right clothing anyway. Of course, now it was trying to catch up. Fortunately, Karumi makes a road, so catching up is easier than blazing the trail.

Pax is tired, sort of, though he's not nearly as tired as he really should be. It's a simple thing, keeping ones body active for long periods of time, devouring its food and drink slowly so as to not waste resources. As the group comes to a stop to rest, Pax gives a bob of his bat-like head, and after taking a moment to glance about his wings spread out to either side and his form lifts from the floor of the forest. Jumping up into the air, Pax drips onto the tree, and crawling high up into the branches comes to a stop. Clawed talons of feet grip into the bottom of a massive branch, comfortably shaded by those around it to ensure he's hard to spot, and the creature jerks a bit as he falls to hang upside down and wraps his wings around his body for resting. No matter how hard he tries, he can ever seem to /fully/ break the need to rest.

Dra'si'assh looks entirely disinclined to move. Once she's down, the effort required to fight gravity and humidity to get back up is just too much. So she just sits there and watches shelters be prepped, though her ears and nose do keep active to try and make sure they don't get surprised by any unwelcome company and keep her busy long enough to not just drop off to sleep right there.

Kurumi rises from her crouch and eyes the knothole in the tree. She quickly concludes there is no way she is going to fit in there, what with not being able to suppress her powers in this primal realm. As such she begins scrouging anything that appears soft, leaves, moss, ferns, smaller mammals, and piling them against the tree in order to create a makeshift sleeping space for herself.

Pembroke stays out of Karumi's sight when she starts gathering small mammals

Once he and the Galliard bring over several thick leafy branches over, Izayah goes about tying them about the trunk of the tree using vines. That way when they tuck their way into this knothole, they won't be visible.

Sh'raii is absolutely getting into that tree because he's not Kirijama's avatar Pax over there. He goes to pile up the branches around the entrance of the knothole, and maybe some moss, like Kurumi's gathering, but mostly he lets Iz do the survival stuff, and lets Ramona rest. Then he goes climbing in, and finally slips into a smaller human form. He'd prefer lupus, but can't quite manage to take on that skin.

Oh that's nice.. So nice.

The air is still oxygen heavy and their sleep has been fitful. The weight of a couple of branches shift but for the most part, the group of fitful, jungle scented group finds themselves caressed to wakefulness by the soft feel of golden grasses swaying in the dawn breeze. Dew glistens upon the grass tips and on the dewy leaves of a large yellow birch. The sunlight slowly raises upon them and they find themselves instead of in a sweltering oppressive jungle surrounded instead by a long wide open prairie that is dotted here and there with little groves of trees.

The sky is wide and open above them with nothing to blot out the horizon on either side save for some few miles away massive glaciers slowly corrode their way across this massive plain. IN the distance the sound of beasts can be heard, high strange screeches and cries and a bugling sound like an elk only ... louder. Along with the triumphant trumpet of a herd of Mammoth that passes by..

Pembroke isn't naked yet, but his arms and legs are bare, and the assortment of scars up his arms and legs are visible. And now.. "How long was I asleep, and when did the twister drop us in Kansas?.. and can anyone break a Mammoth like a cowboy does a horse? I'd be nice to quit walking."

Dra'si'assh doesn't wake but boy is she a restless sleeper. That girl is all over the place, which doesn't help when she keeps her Crinos form for whatever reason. She's probably banished to the edge of the pile in short order. She does settle somewhat once they're in a cooler environment, though she doesn't realize it until morning when the noisy ass sounds of nature come out to greet the rising sun. With snorts and huffs, she cracks open her eyes and raises her head, though it takes a second for the scene shift to register before there's a startled, surprised yelp as she hauls herself up. ~Hey! We moved!~

Out of the pile of limbs and snore, La Moneda comes scrambling out. She's pulling the bandolier with her teeth, the diminutive size not completely dampening down her inhuman strength as she gets out into the open. Everyone else is distracted by the change of scenery and the near-stampede. The Bygone is more concerned about changing into her more 'original' form and pulling on the barest of clothes and getting her magical items in all the right places.

Almost as soon as the sunlight floods the horizon, Pax's yellowish slitted eyes shoot open, and a hiss escapes him. Wings unfurling wide, they streeeeeeetch out to his sides, only for the bat-lizard creature to release the branch and fall down to land on the ground next to the knot in that tree with a heavy thump. "See?" he rumbles lightly, a sinewy arm and clawed hand extended towards the herd in the distance to accentuate his point. "Shit moves." That being said, at least the weather is nicer now, and there's a bit more visibility. "Keep an eye on the skies, and the grass, as you move here."

Kurumi let's out a loud yawn and stretches her arms skyward as she comes back to consciousness outside of the tree where she slept leaning against it cradling her kanabo in her arms. But now it is time to rise. At first she blinks several times, perhaps wondering if she is still dreaming but if its a dream she seems to decide to go with it since at least that horrible sweltering humidity is gone. Once on her feet the sound of the mammoths in the distance has her rubbing her tummy, it would seem that someone is hungry.

What? When Ramona exclaims that they've moved, Trent can't help but go take a look. Fields. Prairie. His head is pounding. "You see anything we need to avoid?" he asks to Pax and the Den Mother. "I mean, right now?" He can certainly -hear- things, and he rubs at still-tired eyes, usually controlled, pleasant counter-tenor a little harsher.

Climbing out of the hole, Izayah scratches a hand over his bare chest, then pulls his shirt on over his body. "The fuck." He grunts out as he squints, looking about the new terrain. "That's fucking great. Gonna be hard to track?" He asks Ramona.

The plains are wide and open, and what fluffy clouds there are in the sky look completely unintimidating. Strange beasts roam these plains and as they stand and look out across the wide-open golden space, alongside the glaciers they can see a wide river in the distance glinting under the morning light. All sorts of animals are moving about, getting slowly into the thick of working off the phase of peace and .. working into the phase of the gravid moon.

A mix of land a place where there is only /one/ land mass the beasts mingle together; Rusingoryx wander along the riverside, massive anscetors to the wildebeasts of today. Bugling Megaloceros travel in groups of great racked males after bundled herds of females frolicking in the morning fields. Nothing is afraid of werewolves here; rage instinct does not exist. This place happened before that..

In the distance, they can see the towering forms of half a dozen Titanosaurs as they bend their massive necks to feast upon trees and brush.

Dra'si'assh looks to Izayah but doesn't answer his question right away. She lets her eyes unfocus as she looks out across the plains, but the strain of trying to pull on her gift becomes evident pretty quickly and she ends up shaking her head. ~I can't. Normally all I need is a name, but I think he's too strong to be found. Guess it's like She said, we just travel. Then He finds us. For now, let's head to the water. The river gives us a landmark to follow.~

Pembroke looks up, looks around.. "I don't see large trees, or cliffs.. which should give those capable of flight a large advantage..." and okay, big lizard things. Not afraid of werewolves. Of course, a werewolf might be to jam to some of them... "Won't every thirst animal around come to the water too?"

Sh'raii gain finds himself wishing for his lupus form. This time for long-running. That is a lot of ground to cover, but it's also a lot more pleasant than the jungle had been. He slips into his fur coat again, and then from the tree. His head is thumping from lack of water, so he's going with whomever else down to that river.

Dra'si'assh relents to distance and takes to her Hispo form for ease of long traveling. While some break off to hunt, she heads for a promising looking bend in the river that'll be an easily identifiable 'camp' for the gang to meet back up later at. ~Next time we're going on vacation, we need to pack better.~ She grunts as she sets off at an unhurried, easy trot.

Barksdale trudges along, gun in hand as he walks along towards the river. Looking to scope out the area and make sure they are in a good spot as well as sticking near his packmates.

"Storm-of-Fire-Rhya," Sh'raii greets when he sees his alpha arriving, head dipping. It takes an amount of effort not to simply jump into the river. He doesn't know shit about dinosaurs, and what might be lurking in there! But the call to drink is strong, and he does dip his snout into the shallows, remarking after taking a few big gulps, "No, next time is a 'stay-cation.'" It sounds funny in the Garou tongue, but he figures they'll get the idea.

The water is, despite its various inhabitants, pure and clean and refreshing. So much nice against the rough of the throat after the horrendous heat and moisture-sapping humidity of the rain forest. Now the plains are wide and open and for the time being at peace..

The predators look distracted. Yeah, Sh'raii is just gonna...go in there. Not far, only a few feet in, to get his fur wet. Wash some of that sweat stink off from the night before. And just chill a minute. But he's a nose-to-the-grindstone kind of guy, so he won't stay long. When he gets out, he's going to shift into hispo, stretch, and prep for the long journey past the plains. ~Where is the Horned Serpent?~ he asks.

Dra'si'assh also takes an opportunity for a quick dunk to dislodge some of the grime and cool off, catching several more mouthfuls of water to ease thirst and hunger for now. She steps further up on shore where it's clear enough to see and shakes herself off (out of the range of the others), then just sits to let evaporation do its thing. ~The Elder Serpent. And I don't know. This whole Realm is his, so he could be anywhere. Maybe even anything. I have no clue. Guess for now we wait, maybe set up a base camp nearby.~

The area Pembroke started clearing when Ramona had suggested it as base camp is a nice little area. It's got a couple of trees dappling the area protecting them from most creatures barreling through or over them and provides shade as no doubt that sun that only gets brighter and bigger the higher it rises will likely be impossible to deal with by mid-day. It also seems out of the direct path of both the massive migrating musting mammoths and the ground devouring glaciers in the distance.

Pembroke frowns a moment, looking in the direction of the glaciers, wondering what the chances are they'll wake up there next.

Sh'raii realizes he's thankful for the hispo skin when he can't reach to scratch at his neck, the angry spirits inside his techno-fetishes still irritating him. Largely because he'd been worried about damaging them with his sharp crinos claws. ~Maybe He's drawing us nearer to Him, when we sleep.~ He's looking at the glaciers, too, and wondering if his fur will keep him warm there. Dire wolves were from the ice age.

~It may be.~ Says Dra'si'assh as she looks to the distant glacier. The moon's prickly influence makes her shake again with a snort before she moves closer into the campsite. With time to kill, she retakes her native human skin and sighs at sodden and muddy clothes. "Well, guess let's get a better camp set up for when everyone else gets back." And so she'll do that, looking for likely debris to start up fire rings and places to sleep.

Pembroke gets to work on having a presentable and reasonably protective camp setup, trusting all the ultraviolent and Rage filled monsters keep other things away. Who knew that watching Naked and Afraid and Survivor and yeah, even Primative Guy would come in handy?

Sh'raii doesn't know jack about building a shelter, though he's watching the pair, and 'helping' by gathering sticks and rocks for them as they build fire and structure. The temperature is brutal, but it's not as humid as it was in the jungle, and the predators are still rutting, so he occasionally goes back in the river shallows for a dip. His fur holds the water well. There's wet-dog smell, but he doesn't seem to care anymore.

Pembroke stinks. Doesn't care, No liquor. No drugs. No secretaries. Just endless... nature. On the plus side, he also doesn't care about wet dog smell either

Some people are builders, others are the lookout. Surprise surprise the soldier with the fetish firearm. Using the scope to help give him a wide range of view, hoping to catch any danger early.

The Hunters will be, shockingly, gone for a while. They need to find Kurumi's favorite fewd after all, and Apes are a bit closer to the glaciers. This leaves the pack with some time and as Mid-day sweeps up and so do the temperatures so too do clouds begin to roll in in the distance and Barks will see them first. Heavy, dark and pendulous.. They're still miles and miles off.. but on the wind, as it picks up there's a distant thunder to be heard and a faint jagged glow of lightning. But it will be a few hours at least until the storm is even on them; this is, however, the benefit of a limitless skyline.

Ramona does what she can in prepping up a lean-to, remarking at some point towards Pembroke, "For once, I'm glad of those weird ass YouTube rabbit holes. Four hours of my day was not, in fact, wasted entirely." She takes a break then to cool back off and look longingly at all of the walking meals with her stomach rumbling its displeasure at being so long empty. "Anything out there look close enough to drop without much effort? I don't have the patience for fishing."

It seems that Izayah is at home here in the jungle when it comes vine gathering and yanking down thick leaves. "When you run coke from South America to Canada, sometimes you find yourselves in the jungles." He drawls out in an amused manner. "I had to build shit like this on nights when we needed to be off the road, hiding."

"Storms coming!" Barksdale calls out, alerting everyone. "We better get those shelters ready it looks like it could be a big one." he rumbles. A hand rising to point ahead.

~I wonder if we could just...grab one, while they're distracted with spawning.~ Sh'raii, too, is starving, from the heat and the march here. It's still taken a toll on him. ~Or spear fish.~ Hell, he actually wants to try it. He goes back to the water's edge, peers in, lips of his canine muzzle drawn back, trying to pick an edible and distracted looking target. Nothing too large.

Pembroke looks at the river, and looks at Iz.. "As our resident expert.. how high is that river going to get?"

Ramona looks over the open glacial plains towards where Barksdale indicates with a low groan. "Great. More god damn rain. Hopefully, the others know or get back here." She looks to Pembroke and seems to share his sudden concern and then looks back to the river. "I dunno how you even tell what's a flood plain. This didn't... seem marshy.
