"Low profile! Do you understand the meaning of the words low profile? Let me tell you what low profile is NOT. It is NOT taking hostages. It is NOT shooting cops. It is NOT setting fire to a building!"

"Bitch, bitch, bitch..."

-Dusk till Dawn

"We accept the reality of the world with which we are presented. It's as simple as that."

-The Truman Show

Stereotypes
And now, Shelby, around the latest Ratkin Peace-Pipe exhibition with the newbie.

" I've seen some shit Johnny can't tell you about, kid. His vague-ass little Rundown of what's what is great to start with, but think for yourself here. There's alot of shit out there, just make sure you survive long enough to learn about it. Me? I've seen it, boo. Had this demon think he could try to get in my head. And Ma let him know how fuckin' stupid an idea that was. Ironic as shit too, fuck-o almost lost it dealing with the plague. Seen a Wraith before, or some kinda floaty ghost. Meh. She looked sad. Vampires, please dude. Most of them are too fuckin' old to care, or notice us and the other rats chewing their foundation and empire out from underneath 'em. They're like junkies-- In it for the fix. But a few of 'em are...Alright. I guess. Most're too stuffy. Too anime-ish too, with that fuckin' "YOU HAVE YET TO SEE MY TRUE POWER" Bullshit. Pop in some Bleach and go to bed with a stiffy, fuckhead. The Garou? Fuck them. Fuck them all. I haven't met one yet that I've liked, or thought wouldn't make a better fuckin' rug. Sold-out pieces of shit. 'Cept the Bone Gnawers. They're getting a taste of what it's fuckin' like being on the bottom of the boot. Some of 'em deserve help. Got it bad from their so called brothers and sisters. But some of 'em have just turned into fuckin' boot-lickers. The rest of the fera? Take 'em case by case. Now Mages are fuckin' cool. I saw this guy actually THROW a fireball. Like, Street Fighter shit. One moody mage could be all like 'Hey. Your face, you like it right? Well it's over there now.' Awesome shit. And a few of them are alright to boot. Except for those fucking Technofucks. Kid I ain't talkin' about music, so shut the fuck up. Seen shit, remember? Yeah. Alright, keep laughin'. Now. Since you just broke my beer with your face, I'm going to go grab another one, and maybe when I get back you'll listen. Or don't, fuckin' darwinism's great. We got ten thousand more biding their time, and keeping themselves entertained by watching fuckups like you teach the other pups what not to do. "

RP Hooks
Right place, Right time : Shelby's everywhere. Sewers, clubs, desert, Mexico. You name it and for some reason feel the need for errant explosions or delusions, hit me up and Shelby could come walking around the corner.

Homeless and lovin' it : Shelby calls the alley home, and in her more tender moments, will even add to the talk circling the burn-barrel and share a bite to eat. She's held in good regards with all of her ilk. "Shelby? Oh, Shake. Yeah she's alright. Get her talkin' about one of her theories you'll be there for an hour. But she's alright."

Penchant for Crime : There happens to be a couple of warrants out for a girl around 5 feet tall, with short blonde hair and tanned skin. Theft, 'B n E', vandalism, suspected gang affiliation. The works. The picture generated from witnesses coming in to give descriptions is about the vaguest drawing ever, though. Might actually be a guy.

In the Know : Streetwise 5, Area Knowledge 5- If something big's going down, or about to, more often than not she would be able to point a finger in the general direction. Or, more likely, just show up for the fireworks.

Canadian Terrorist. Eh? : A couple years back, a serial arsonist hit Toronto for months, then just vanished, never being caught.

We need guns. Lots of guns. : Shelby's making a break into the market, particularly the black one. She's networking, and so far her name's come across a few niches here and there. Falsified documents can be arranged, organized thefts can be scheduled, some unregistered firearms are for sale, and a tighter lipped whisper says she's able to get her hands on 'Fireworks'. Her colors and crew can be seen persistently at the underground 'market' in the Sewers, with of course small-grade out in the open with the caveat of "inquire within for special requests."

Dynamic Duo: Shelby is rarely seen anymore without Vasili, her business-oriented partner. Big guy, 6ft worth of Russian in a decent suit. Really polite, willing to talk your ear off about nearly anything in that cosmopolitan sort of way. But he's Shelby's right hand man, diplomat, comrade-in-arms, PR...And sometimes babysitter.

Moving up in the world. 40G. : Anyone in the gang scene has heard of a new one perking up and encroaching on Prosperity-- The Shelbyville Saints. So far their colors have only staked claims to a few smaller areas, the biggest one being Washburn Recycling on the northern side of Prosperity, and their turf is expanding erratically-- different neighborhoods and locations around the city at what has to be random. They're colors are, of course, purple.

Oh. And Fuck hats. Hats are for pussies.

Overview

Rite Name : Shake Well for Best Results

Aspect : Twitcher

Breed : Samuel L Jackson, Jason Mewes, Dennis Leary and Tank Girl had a baby. That baby grew up, got picked for the experimental time-travel program funded by Coca-Cola, went into the future and married Jayne Cobb. Had a baby. THAT Baby grew up, flew through a wormhole that led her to the past, and ended up at a party where she got coked up and had an orgy with Samuel L Jackson, Jason Mewes, Dennis Leary and a comic book. The resulting baby is Shelby.

So, Homid.

Why Shelby ticks the way she does (Besides what's in her jacket)

Ratkin Psychology : Ratkin are creatures of extremes. For ratkin, shifting Gnosis and Rage totals, and how much they contrast, can mean the difference between passive and explosive. After a fight she's a little calmer, after a few gifts she's a little touchy. It's who she is, she's just Wyld...Tainted.

"Read, touched."

Anonymity : Possessing a natural anonymity, the veil covers up most human memory of Shelby. It is a Willpower vs 8 roll for them to remember her in the room, or seeing her in passing. All you weirdos out there are safe; her name just takes a while to hit your head sometimes.

"That chick, in the jacket, with the...Face, and the, talking...Starts with a...B? No, wait."

Impulse Control Problems : And you thought you had it bad. Shelby has mechanics for hers. "Whenever the Twitcher gains rage, roll one die against a difficulty of 10 minus the Twitcher's rank. If it succeeds, add one rage to her temporary pool and roll again, until you fail or the twitcher reaches her maximum rage."

"I once asked her why she didn't leave me any coffee. She threw a roll of quarters at me and said hit Starbucks."

Freak Factor

Unstable - Rage comes a little too easily for these Ratkin; this is both a blessing and a curse. A seething anger isolates you from ordinary humans, but it also makes you primed for battle at a moment's notice. Whenever a character with this Background gains a Rage point, roll a die; on a 10, he gains an extra point of Rage. Unfortunately, he also makes Frenzy rolls at difficulty 4. Ratkin at Freak Factor 2 don't play well with others, but they're absolute bastards in a fight. All Twitchers are Unhinged and Unstable; thus, they must pay three Background Points for their Freak Factor during character creation.

Unhinged - Ratkin with Freak Factor 1 have a highly developed relationship with their Totems. If you're Unhinged, your god is still calling you. After your First Change, the voices just wouldn't stop. Whenever you are uncertain of a course of action, you may hear voices instructing you with advice. For players who are new to the World of Darkness, this blessing can be massively useful—a godsend, if you will. Nonetheless, as one would expect, characters who are tormented by voices are often treated as insane. All Twitchers have this psychological "enhancement."

Unhinged for MUSH : There is no real way to justify using this background for any in-game benefits without running into problems. So when I play Shelby, I run Unhinged not so much as a power, but as a personality point. There's just too much roleplay potential to ignore it. If you ever want to know what I mean, try listening to this. Or this. And imagine hearing that ALL THE TIME. With, of course, little philosophical tidbits sprinkled in every now and then. That's how I play this freak factor for Shelby.

Disclaimer
Shelby does not own the rights or legal trademarks of...Anything. Besides her jacket, that's HERS. But she can not be held responsible, liable, accountable, or responsible for any explosions, hurt feelings, lost fingers or vendetta's she may or may not have caused. This is your OOC Warning. Shelby is Risk 3 in ANY scene she participates in. If you think her rationale or mindset is off, it is because it IS. If you have not picked this up at any time scrolling down this page, I will tell you blatantly right here: Shelby is not human. Not in her logic, and especially not in her rationale. Who she is, how she reacts, and what she does is in any given scene is not because I'm irritated out-of-character (admittedly it does help to play her if i've had a bad day), or more importantly because i have some kind of vendetta against you OOC. It is just the way she plays, she is a Wyld-tainted being with no care for the consequences of her actions. She does not explicitly grief people just to be antagonistic, that is just her, and half of the fun I have in playing her in a scene is trying to keep HER out of trouble as much as interact with the rest of the RP. I try only to bring her on grid when I can justify that mindset for her (IE, if she is having a bad day because of a scene prior or what have you, I do 'downtime' for her.), but that doesn't mean things won't easily and quickly slip into bad situations. First and foremost I try to accomplish with Shelby is continuity and cohesion of character. That means I have little room for excuse if something DOES happen and I know she would react a very particular way, but that also means she will always have justification for the things she does.
