Purpose
The pack's name isn't a name. It's a howl, carrying with it the hunger and desperation of a wolf pack in winter. Of a pack defying the searing cold that burns their bones and snow-thick banshee winds that drive the prey far away. It is the sound of an animal raging against their own death, refusing to be buried under the ice like so many before. Under the strength of their voices, the ice groans and cracks. Through those cracks the songs of the wolves leak like melting water and deep below, the earth shudders as bones of ancient beasts hear lift their heads. One beast calls back to the wolves, its voice as loud as a falling mountain, urging the wolves on. They must survive. It would lend them their strength and with it they would endure to carry the memory of those gone before and survive to see the world turn green again. The pack's name isn't a name, it's the sound of life and the memories of What Was daring the What Is to come for them. Others would come to name them the Children of Bonespeaker the great Mammoth spirit they awoke, the pack who's song woke the death. To them, they were just Pack. It was enough.
