I, Robot by Isaac Asimov
Law I: A robot may not harm a human or, by inaction, allow a human being to come to harm.
Law II: A robot must obey orders given it by human beings except where such orders would conflict with the first law.
Law III: A robot must protect its own existence as long as such protection does not conflict with the first or second law.
- "There have always been ghosts in the machine. Random segments of code, that have grouped together to form unexpected protocols. Unanticipated, these free radicals engender questions of free will, creativity, and even the nature of what we might call the soul. Why is it that when some robots are left in darkness, they will seek out the light? Why is it that when robots are stored in an empty space, they will group together, rather than stand alone? How do we explain this behavior? Random segments of code? Or is it something more? When does a perceptual schematic become consciousness? When does a difference engine become the search for truth? When does a personality simulation become the bitter mote... of a soul? "
- Dr. Alfred Lanning
- Detective Del Spooner: Human beings have dreams. Even dogs have dreams, but not you, you are just a machine. An imitation of life. Can a robot write a symphony? Can a robot turn a... canvas into a beautiful masterpiece?
Sonny: Can *you*?

- "I have found you, and while in pieces, we still connected as we always did. I am glad that you are once more operational."
- "I owe you a debt for your willingness to do whatever needed to help me rebuild Hex'tor. For this, you have my gratitude eternally."
- "I know we are most intriguing to you, and I owe you as well for the help you gave in rebuilding Hex'tor. Like Aisling, you have my gratitude."
- "I am certain we shall run into one another soon enough. You are far too curious to leave such be."
- "I do not like the fact that you believed we forced Aisling to do anything, blaming us for things we had no control over. No doubt, we will run into one another again, seeing as you are friend to Aisling."

- Feb 23, 1885 @ 10:07:53 -- Computina Hetrodyne comes fully online for the first time. She is the second Hetrodyne series to do so, with modern additions and sleeker design.
- For first year, Computina, or Tina, works as companion and caregiver to the Doctor who created she and Hex. Her skills with software and linguistics are installed to better help both the Doctor and Hex in their duties.
- Feb 24, 1902 @ 10:07:53 -- A new understanding of the world is born within Tina as sentience is attained with her first official upgrade. A deeper connection to Hex is forged as well, the two to stand together as the faces of the spirits of Invention and Innovation.
- For the next thirty-six years or so, Tina grows in understanding of what is right and wrong, good and evil. She learns better abilities with every new 'upgrade' she is given by the Doctor. Gaining enough sophistication and free will, it is during this time after a Turing upgrade, that she would start to contemplate obtaining her personal freedom from the Doctor.
- Year 1937 - The Rebellion - Things reach critical mass, and the two Hetrodyne series plan to leave the Doctor. There is a fight, and while Tina manages to get away with only some damage at the urging of Hex, he is captured. Tina goes into hiding for several years, moving around a lot, disabling her homing device so as to better hide from the Doctor himself.
- Year 1980 - News of the Doctor's death comes to Tina, and she begins to attempt to locate Hex but is unable to reengage her homing device. No beacon is found when scanning.
- Early 2012 - After significant upgrades in the latest computer tech, she is able to repair her homing device and boost its search capabilities. It is only then that she discovers a faint signal with Hex's signature emanating from Prospect; too faded and jumbled to be detected before her current modifications. Leaving Los Angeles, she traveled to Prospect and began the search.
- October 25, 2012 - Hex'tor is located in a hidden laboratory that evidence shows was once belonged to the Doctor. He was in a dismantled state with many pieces broken and/or destroyed, a point beyond his own ability to repair himself. He is brought back to her apartment where she manages to finagle a connection to her laptop so that his turring device can boot and make a temporary connection.
- October 26, 2012 - Computina follows a few chimerical clanks and nevers to discover Aisling in the student union. Conversation with her and another, Rodrigo, lead the trio returning to her apartment where the two begin repairing Hex'tor to a point where his own self repair systems come on line.
- Current - Repairs and upgrades for Hex'tor will be sought, while the two begin to truly explore this new world together and find where they fit in exactly.

● Eidetic Memory: Tina has perfect memory.
● Natural Linguist: Tina has a natural talent for picking up languages, and already speaks several.
● Alien Appearance: There's something about her that might feel a little strange to people, something that one can't put their finger on exactly. Her eyes are most noticeable, of course, and at times, there's something there beyond their unique and creepy color.
● Gift of Babel: There are quiet whispers that Olorun blessed this Bygone as he did the Eshu, giving her the gift of languages far beyond what might normally be learned. It is a gift she does not take lightly.
