- Members of the political and financial elite might know (or know of) Alan, as he's a major player in the financial sector, and has dabbled in the behind the scenes side of politics.
- Alan has political influence in Prospect as well, owing to the large sums of money he's capable of donating to campaigns. Local politicos might know of him.
- Alternately, left wing activists and 99%ers have probably read articles on the internet that villify him as some kind of mega-wealthy evil prince.
- Alan is related to Schulyer, and followers of high fashion might know that his penthouse was a refuge for her in New York, or might have even seen him at the occasional social function.
- Fellow Moonhavens would know Alan as the surly and often absent accountant who keeps things more or less running on the farm.

With a fortune that's rumored to be in the billions, Alan Moon is the biggest untold success story on Wall Street. Or he was, until a recent article in the Economist threw a spotlight on his work on the Obama administration's financial team. The ultimate back room policy wonk, he's tried to shy away from the attention, but that got a lot harder after the Huffington Post dug up the fact that he was born on the weird Moonhaven commune, and was still connected to the family. It's too boring a story to go mainstream, but anyone who follows politics or finance has probably at least heard his name.
