5/22/2023 16:36:51 Mary opens the door the kicks her shoes in a random direction. "Make yourself comfortable. Can I get you," she wanders into the kitchen. "Uh ... coffee, water ... Oh! There's a bottle of red wine here."
5/22/2023 16:46:44 Viktor pauses as he steps in and sees her take her shoes off, then bends down to untie and remove his boots. When in Rome, and all that. He leaves his laptop bag leaning against the wall by the door as well. He grins up at the kitchen while he works on the laces. "Water's fine, thanks. I'm not usually that much of a day drinker. So, big Disney fan?"
5/22/2023 16:47:59 Mary moves to the kitchette. You hear the tap then she comes over with a pair of glasses. There is a giggle. "I know. I need to sort of broaden my horizons hm? Or at least my DVD collection. I mean unless you get this streamy thing set up for me."
5/22/2023 16:54:48 Viktor chuckles back to her as he takes one of the glasses and takes a sip. "True, you won't need the physical media as much if you've got access to the interwebs. Not that Disney is bad or anything. And they practically own all the cool stuff these days too. We might need to pick up some hardware though, depending on what you've already got... I don't suppose the TV is a smart model?"
5/22/2023 16:58:07 Mary sets the drinks down on the coffee table. She pauses top make sure they stay put then bends to big into her purse. Eventually show shows you her several generation old iphone. "I have this. And the TV ... um ... I don't know. I got it second hand."
5/22/2023 17:21:26 Viktor looks at the phone, and does not do a very good job of hiding the dismay in his eyes behind a polite smile. Then he turns to look at the TV and heads over to check it out. "Well, let's see. It probably is, most are like that these days unless they're really, really old. Gimme a few minutes here..."
5/22/2023 17:21:26 He turns the TV on, and looks relieved when it boots up to a smart TV menu instead of a blank blue screen. He nods, then pulls out his phone and starts running through some procedure pretty rapidly while moving back and forth between whatever he's doing there and the TV's much slower system of settings. It takes him several minutes, but eventually he looks up with a grin as the Disney Plus logo appears on the screen. "Alright, we got a couple of pieces of good news here! One, the TV can indeed handle the streaming itself. Two, one of your neighbors does not have their wireless router secured properly, so you can piggyback on that for a while at least. They might figure it out and kick you off at some point, but this works until you can get your own setup. And I logged you into my Disney+ account, it might auto kick you at some point but you can just let me know and I can reauthorize it, no problem. The only bad news is that I don't see a remote anywhere, so you're going to have to navigate with the goofy joystick control think hidden around the back side of the TV here..."
5/22/2023 17:25:49 Mary stands by you. Kinda close. Maybe inside personal space but hopefully not getting in the way. She looks a little mystified. "So your magic involved electronics I take it? That seems ... " There is a cheer at the logo then she hugs you. "You did it!"
5/22/2023 17:33:50 Viktor looks startled at the sudden hug, it taking a moment to remember from her meeting with Gwydion that she's apparently the hugging type. He keeps his hands held a bit awkwardly at his sides, his left hand still holding his phone. Which is one of the newer Samsung android models, incidentally. Her cheer is infectious though, so he grins as he answers her. "Yeah, you're all set. That wasn't magic though, not like the people in our club think of it, anyway. Anyone can learn to do it, although it does involve its own set of arcane knowledge and incantations... You just use a keyboard instead of wands and stuff."
5/22/2023 17:38:11 Mary is the hugging type! She lingers a bit before stepping back. Then sticks her tongue out at you and laughs. "I know THAT wasn't magic. I'm bad at computers but not that bad." The brunette is still laughing. "So wifi? Well the guy in the apartment above caught me changing in the laundry room." Another laugh. "I think he likes me. I can ask. I mean it's not like I'm gunna use a tone." There are just the two computing devices in the room.

5/22/2023 17:42:13 Viktor rubs the back of his head with his right hand, looking a little sheepish about the magic of computers bit. His eyes widen slightly at her mention of the neighbor though. "Wait, he what now? Double wait, why would you change in the laundry room?"
5/22/2023 17:44:29 Mary can only giggle in response. She pause to get a sip of her water. "I decided I want to wash what I had on so .. " she shrugs then lifts her dress as if to take it off. the hem doesn't rise much past her knees though.

He still turns a bit red though, and steps over to recollect his water glass and take a big drink. "Alright, well... Probably not the approach I'd have taken, but that's one way to handle it, I guess? But, ah, I guess you can ask him for permission if you think it would work? I wouldn't transfer anything sensitive over his connection though, like we just figured out, it's not secure."
5/22/2023 17:57:19 Mary giggles and motions to the couch, offering you a seat. "Yeah. I'll go up there later tonight." She settles into the wood chair. "Thanks for doing all this. I'd re turn the favor but, um, still kinda working on more useful skills. I assume you don't need any latin translated."
5/22/2023 18:04:24 Viktor settles himself down onto the couch with his water, aiming for one of the more cushiony parts left. You already did me a bigger favor by giving me a ride back up North. Besides, it's better to pay things forward than back. I'm sure you'll find someone that needs a hand at some point, you can never tell when someone's going to find them self in need, but it happens to everyone sooner or later. It might not be Latin related, but... Actually, what is it that you do? As a Verbena I mean, not as a theologian. I didn't know many well before here, but they always seemed like kind of a Druid-y vibe?"

She looks a little more serious at the rest of the questions. "Yeah. We are. I mean ... should be. I was raised in a strict house. I never really got to be me until I moved away to college. I've always wanted to be closer to nature but couldn't."

Luckily at least, we don't stay kids forever, right. At some point we do get to grow up and become our own person, whether they like it or not. And you seem to be doing pretty well now, so you must be doing something right!"

I mean there was a year ... year and a half where I was just ... went to the other extreme. I think I'm finding my balance now.What about you? Have you always known what you are?"

I tried juggling it along with college for a while, but in the end it was too much and things got complicated. Which is part of what prompted me moving down here."
5/22/2023 18:32:52 Viktor frowns and checks his phone as he gets an alert, then looks up with an evident bit of annoyance on his face. "Sorry, I need to get home and meet my landlord. He lost my lease paperwork, again, and I need to get that fixed ASAP."
