Back from High Tara, he receives a phone call from his friend Thomas. The phone rings for an incoming video call from overseas.
His friend Thomas is a prankster, but more than likely he's checking up on him. "Hello Dude. You know those fucking debutantes?" His eyes are wide, and he has his finger up to his lips, half snickering. "Check these bitches out who are trying to ensare you. They've been at it for hours, planning your downfall." He zooms from his face in, to show two girls behind him down a hallway.
He can see it is Lady Samantha, and her friend Gwen. And Lady Samantha says, "Are you sure that when I go to the U.S. there's no competition against me when I show up?"
Gwen says, "Not a lick of competition. Your plan is flawless." She always was a follower, saying whatever made Lady Sam happy. Stroking her feathers most likely to avoid her wrath and temper. Her breeding is fine, but her voice is annoying. Gwen also doesn't sound like she's covered all her bases. She's been doing research for Lady Sam. Clearly.
Lady Sam says, "I know that look. There's at least... something you aren't telling me."
Gwen says, "Well there is one girl of fine breeding, but they call her 'The Cursed Cow'."
Lady Sam laughs, "What?... is THIS delicious rumor? Is she fat like a cow?"
Gwen pulls up a picture on her tablet, and shows it to Lady Sam. Thomas zooms in further trying to spy on the girls. The picture on the tablet holds a picture of Tinlin's portrait, painted.
Lady Sam frowns, "She doesn't look like a cow. What's her dossier that you hacked into, and what's the tea on her?"
Gwen replies, "The notes say she's had at least seven match offers and turned them all down. Doesn't seem interested. She was born in Midlothorien County. A farm girl."
Lady Sam snickers again. "Go on...."
Gwen says, "They had cows and the cows were believed to be cursed, and they died. I have a friend in the county that says they secretly called her the Cursed Cow, because they think she did it. She also killed her father with grief."
Lady Sam, hmms, "Dark. So the people of her own home don't like her."
Gwen continues, "Her father lost the farm and it went up for sale. My friend told me she ran away. And her dossier says she has zero finances. Not a quid to her name."
Lady Sam grins, "This will be easier for me if she's penniless, and kills cows."
Gwen says, "It also says the people dislike her so much from Midlothorien, that the Matchmaker believes they were the ones who sent the Black Box to the Emerald Palace for her. An attempt was made on her life. She had a falling out with the local fae there. But in red down at the bottom here...." she scrolls, "It says she has a Red Knight as her guardian now, and any further pursuit to find her a match is out of the question. She closed her case."
Lady Sam laughs hard. "She's ruined. Now where did Thomas go off to? I need to break his little heart quickly, and cast my net." When she looks up down the hall in Thomas' direction. She yells at him. "WHAT ARE YOU DOING!"
Thomas swallows, "I gotta go. Run for your life." The shrew marches down the hall at him. He hangs up.

Ken receives a flashdrive in the mail. Subject: Flashdrive
Tinlin rolls Charisma(5) + Singing(5) + 1 (11 dice) vs 4 for 7 successes.
Someone brings Kennard an envelope as they go out to deliver mail among the Gaians. It's sealed on the back with royal purple wax, and crested within is an Entwood staring back at him, the artwork in metal press makes the wax perfect for depicting bark.
Inside he finds a flashdrive. One song upon it, if he loads it up into his laptop. The file is labeled, 'In Ithilien', and it is sung in Sindarin.

Subject: Lady Samantha's Portrait, On Route from the Matchmaker
A rather big crate arrives wherever he is staying, or possibly at the site he's building his new house. It's tagged that it's a gift from the McDougall house, and it's customary for the Matchmaker to send painted portraits before the two meet. They only do this with family's of certain means, and money. AND of course, the crate gets opened by his employees or staff.
Lady Samantha's portrait is a giant painting with golden filigree frame, fit for a palace to be exhibited. She is a strawberry blonde young woman, head held high, and wearing a red silk gown, with the tartan colors over one shoulder, with her family brooch. The painter did a splendid job painting her as beautiful, but he did capture the shrillness of her piercing blue eyes.
The portrait was supposed to be small frame. NOT THIS FUCKING BIG. Apparently, Lady Sam already must think she's hanging it in his house already.

The librarian in service to Silver Tara places a call to Kennard. "I understand you are seeking the lineage for a certain kinfolk named, Tiana'lin O'Malley. I must apologize for the delay in information requested. I was able to obtain her bloodline after looking into her late grandfather's belongings. Some of his records were preserved, as he served as Judge here. This is on the maternal side for Lady Tiana of course. He kept a copy within one of his favorite books, called The Last Winter. I'll forward it over to you, as I was able to piece together what we have, and what we do know for certain.

Subject: Kennard's Mother - Phone Call to Maeve Madden
Tinlin calls his mother and has a very nice chat about all the good deeds her son has done for her. She doesn't hide the past, and is honest about Farm Bonnie Rosemount. The ruin of her farm, and the man who might not be her father. She tells her she wouldn't have known the truth if Kenny didn't press so hard to look into her lineage. And with the contract void and null, she can return to visit Midlothorien if she wants to, but there's nothing for her now in that territory. His mother may ask if she's ever been presented to Court in Scotland, and she says no. It was never allowed. "We lived a very quiet life on the farm, and my mother told me I would not be welcome. Our place was on the farm, and we were Tuatha de fionn. Our status wasn't high enough to enter Silver Tara society. Now, I'm finding this to be untrue. I do not know why she misspoke the truth to me. I wish I knew."
"Kenny brought me my family tartan, an I'm very pleased to know I have something now to know my history. I have ancestors that were garou, that possibly go back as far as when the Fair Folk arrived, and in the distant past, there was even a Queen one of my family served as a Knight. My heart stirs with courage, and I have your son to thank for that."
That's when his mother decides it would be a good idea, despite the risks, to present her to Court. It actually would be a good idea to have her face seen. As a nobody, she's easier to attack and bully. As /someone/ known among the Fianna, it will provide her protection. And she wants to know who her true father is. And she insists that she present her at Court, and will be seeing to it that her family will aide her in a 'late coming out'. But she wants her son to be there.
Synopsis: Tinlin reminds his mother, that the Red Knight has put a full stop to any further matches, due to the last incident in court within the states. His mother agrees, that after she is presented, this will mean that she won't be having Fianna calling her home left and right to see her. That's the natural process. But we'll make sure that Kenny honors the Red Knights current investigation, and that the full power of our house, is at your disposal for protection. She kindly thanks his mother, and tells her she is sending a file for a song she has written for his house, to honor the deeds he has accomplished. She requests she wants to hear it, and seems surprised.
The video sent is taken up in the aviary of her home, facing the windows where the boughs of the Ancient Oak trees move within the wind. She sits with her back to the windows, for the view to move the listener behind her. And she rests upon a green pillow with a harp between her bent knee and legs. The sigils and carvings running down the mid sized harp, have birds and leaves intertwined where the winterberry invites them in, and they have come to listen.
She begins to sing...
O'er the past, where the darkness fell,
There was a hero of a tale to tell,
A lady in green in the dreaming she,
Found him in shadows and could not see,
Lost, and wandering and knowing none,
He journeyed and traveled, to find her some,
Of the family that was hers that was tried and true,
Where her ancestors, and her bloodline grew.

Mother Maeve's Synopsis - Phone Call to Kennard
His mother calls him a bit later after the last phone call. She tells him that she and his father have watched the video sent. The two of them, after MUCH discussion, have decided to also give pause on sending him, potential matches for the short duration, until Tiana'lin is properly presented at Court. She wouldn't want to create a circus in the house, with women showing up to see him, while they are protecting their current guest.
She announces she is cancelling his visit with Lady Samantha McDougall. His mother will make the appropriate calls today.

After Maeve's Call to the Matchmaker. Lady Sam Reacts to the Dropped Meeting in the States Thomas sends a video to Kennard of an altercation:
Thomas calls Ken up on the phone. He's got more spy video on from his cell phone, and he's laughing. "Congratulations, Dude. We're getting sent home. AND -I- can't wait!"
Behind him there is some commotion, where he and his other friend Ben are at some kind of Kinfolk Exchange market for shopping goods. He zooms in on Samantha shrieking. "What is she up to now? Check this out. These girls are arguing over you." At first he finds it funny, but then it escalates.
Samantha finds Tinlin with a shopping basket over her arm, collecting oranges and pears. Sam zones in on her, and starts a scene. "You bloody cow." She sounds enraged. Tin looks up to see her incoming, and has wide eyes. Never meeting her before, this is going to be not fun for her. Sam continues, "Your interference with my future marriage has gone far enough!" She pushes Tin into the fruit display. It doesn't wreck, but Tin's back hit the frame.
Ben seems to be scrambling out of his bench at the door once one kin gets pushed. But Sam is still going full wrath mode on Tinlin. "You CURSED COW!" She shoves Tin again this time in the chest.
Tinlin shoves her back so she can move and get out of the way. "Stop it, or else!"
Sam yells back, "Or else what?!" She moves in to slap Tinlin the second after she's shoved, but Tinlin moves and ends up getting raked across the chest with Sam's fake manicured nails.
And before Ben or Thomas can scramble to pull them apart, Tinlin pops Samantha in the nose with a fist. There's blood, and plenty of it.
"YOU broke my nose!" The harpy shrieks. 'You heathen! If you put one toe in Silver Tara, I will ruin you!" She cries in the middle of the shopping floor. Wailing, she is holding her broken, and bloody nose.
Tinlin leaves all her stuff behind, and leaves the shop quickly.
Samantha cries for Ben, and cries for Thomas, and cries for being almost dead and killed by the Fianna twat! Inconsolable, Thomas eventually turns off the camera. He's doing his job trying to give her tissues to stick up her nose. END CALL.

Thomas texts his phone: The Lady Snake herself has a broken nose. And she is telling her parents it was Bonnie Cow who did it. They want contrition, and they say you have to give it if you have her under your care. Just an FYI. I got the video if you need to take it before Den Father back here at Tara. But, it seems like this is going down. A healer in the party fixed her nose. She still looks like a buckbeak.

Thomas contacts Kennard by voice mail. "Well Dude, you aren't going to believe this one. Den Father over here reviewed the video footage after he heard Lady Sam's testimony of the market fight. She screwed herself royally. But Ben and Me were asked to give act of contrition to the wolf responsible for Lady Tiana'lin. Its that Wendigo, Stormbreaker'rhya, but Den Father says that's not happening. He wants it to stay in tribe. So your Mom got called, and since she's sponsoring the Lady who's coming to stay at your family house, the contrition goes to you. Something about you being her Champion? Whoah. Yeah, too good right? So let me know what you want for a present, otherwise, it might be weird. I'm sorry dude, that this happened. I hope your lady is okay."
He pauses, "But here's the weird part. Ben and I get to pick a punishment of chores for Lady Samantha after the contrition is over. She's going to have to scrub everything I can think of. And she has to do community service at Silver Tara. She's humiliated. About time too. BUT, Den Father says you have to pick a chore for your Lady as well. Can't be punching people in the face. I'll see you soon when I show up to do this contrition, man. Laters."
