A Gaian Gathering
{{{summary}}}
IC Date 2/16/21
Players Branton, Eric, Leif, Matteo, Evonna, Ben, Nathan, and Killigrew as ST
Location Kinfolk House

A large fire has been built in the fire pit, and tables are arranged, with plenty of chairs. A couple more tables are loaded with plenty of food to feed the people that call kinhouse home, as well as the visitors. It's a potluck, really, with people bringing dishes to add to the abundance. Zoe is near the fire, giving it a last little bit of poking to make sure it'll throw off plenty of heat to save folks from the chill of the evening. The Fury kin is wearing what's become normal for her - some marsh patterned bdu's, heavy boots, and a black turtleneck with a spiked leather jacket over it.

Erin shows up bringing some Costco cheesecake well two of them actually as she moves to leave it at the table before she goes to find somewhere to sit down at. She gives a little wave and then her usual "Sup".

Branton is here early helping to set up, he's also brought a guitar case and left it over by his seat where Lockheed is perched on it like a little statue. Branton dropped Lockheed.

Matteo shows up with a walmart bag of stuff, a roticery chicken, a bunch of chicken wings, a bunch of chicken fingers, some potato wedges, basically everything you can buy from that 'ready to go' heated thingy by the registers and another bag of bottled sodas. He heads towards the fire to talk to Zoe, "Hey. I brought a bunch of food and stuff, but I also brought some joints, some cigars, and some all tobacco smokes, everything hand rolled - is that alright to put out too? With like a, 'Not for Kids!' sign on it, or is that a no-go?" he asks, trying /not/ to sound like /that/ pothead guy at every party.

"I'm not sure, to be honest." Killi says, straightening from those last pokes to the fire. "Branton? What do you think?" She asks her kinsman. "Branton knows everything. He's awesome like that." she says with a bright grin. "Hey Erin. Have you two met, yet?" she asks, motioning the Matteo and Erin towards each other. "I see so many people, I forget who knows who." she admits with a sheepish smile.

Erin waves to Branton and then towards Matteo and nodsnods to Zoe "Yeah we have met" she smiles.

Branton gestures over at the smoker's corner "As long as those partaking stick to the spot for it that's fine. Like to keep it avoidable for those that it matters to. Lots of pregnant folks wandering around yeah?"

Matteo nods, "Ok, um, I have a small folding table in my van, I'll get in and make a smokers spot off to the side." he says with a smile and then goes to drop off the food. "Ya, I've met Erin, I'm brewing her some archery potions right now." he says to Zoe as he empties bags.

"Oh good. I've been in and out of town, and running errands and just..." She waves a hand around. "Crazy, lately. Looks like mostly kin tonight." She muses. "Leif'll be by when he can. Has he talked to you, yet, Branton? About swinging by the shop?"

Branton shakes his head at Killigrew "Nope but he's a busy guy, I'm not worried. Its not like the workshop is going anywhere."

Evonna comes out from around the back of the house, and into the clearing. A little late, but she only heard in the last few hours of the gathering. She wouldn't miss it if she could help it! She approaches Leif and Killigrew first, "Guten abend! Glad this is happening!"

Leif JUST got here too, coming around from the other direction, sort of swooping in on Zoe at the same time Evonna does. He grins when he sees at least two or three of his favorite people here and the HUGE guy sort of bounces on his heels and makes a 'come here, hurry' to Evonna and leans waaaaaaaaaay down to whisper to her

Evonna looks to Leif with a confused look, and whispers back. She grins and then whispers again.

"Hey, babe." Zoe greets to Leif, watching the two Garou knock heads together, snickering faintly. "Let me know if you need a hand with that stuff, Matteo." she calls over, then smiles to Erin. "How are the girls?" Branton is nodded to. "He IS busy. Keeps him out of trouble."

Erin looks up as more people gather. She gives waves to Evonna and Leif. She looks to Zoe "The girls are great. Staying out of trouble" she smiles.

Leif stands upright with a grin and wraps his arm around Zoe. "Sorry. Had to tell Evonna the news. I haven't seen her in a couple of days." Ooooh, man of mystery, he is!

Matteo gives a wave that hopefully signals, 'I'm good' as he finishes unpacking the roticery chickens and potatoes and bottles of soda. That done he heads back to his van to get out two folding chairs and a small folding table that sits inbetween them. Since they're light and compact he carries them back to the fire and then walks a good twenty feet away to set them up. Next he gets out a few tins from his backpack, one labled 'Joints' another labeled 'Cigars' and another labeled 'All-natural Tobacco Smokes' along with an ash tray, a cigar cutter, a lighter, and a box of wooden matches. A moment later he gets out some duct tape and writes 'No Kids!' and 'Smokers Area' on some tape and sticks it to the front of the table. With a smile he sinks into one of the folding chairs.

Evonna audibly eeps! And grabs Leif's hand and jumps up and down once. She then grabs Zoe into a quick hug next and just looks thrilled! "Tomorrow, let's have lunch or something."

There's the usual potluck going on - piles of food, cheese cakes, hot food from stores and home made dishes. The bonfire is going, and Zoe's got a Leif arm over her shoulders while an Evonna squees, a Branton helps set up, and an Erin chills. Matteo is settled in a folding chair near a table a ways away from the main of it, with primo smokes and cigars and the like.

Killi's cheeks flush slightly and she nods to Evonna. "Of course! We can come to town or hit up a stash of cured boar belly I've been hanging onto." She pauses, "Matteo? Have you met Evonna?" Trying to make sure the folks that don't know each other get to know one another. "Matteo's an alchemist."

Erin brings her knees up to her chest and wraps her arms around them as she watches people with a bit of a smile.

Branton moves over to open his guitar case and Lockheed moves to perch on the back of the chair as Branton starts tuning the guitar.

Evonna shakes her head, "Matteo? No, I have not." She waits until perhaps his attention is found. "An Alchemist?" She is interested. Not every day you meet a male kinfolk. She adds to Zoe, "Let's hit that stash. Sounds yummy."

Ben arrives in time for food! Go figure! He steps over to where the fire clearing is, offering a wave to those present. "Evening." He offers, nodding to the familiar faces.

Erin waves to the new arrivals and looks around.

Matteo lights himself up a hand rolled smoke, all natural tobacco and other good stuff like that, none of that commercial cigarette junk, he shakes his head, "Nope, not yet. Heya!" he says with a smile from his chair and then tilts his head and stares off into space like he's connecting the dots of the universe, a small sly smile crosses his face and he put the smoke down into the ashtray to walk over to the drink and food table, on the way he passes Zoe a note, with that same smile on his face.

"It is really tasty." Killi says to Evonna, pausing when a note is pressed into her hand, then showing it to Leif, then casting a grin in Matteo's direction. A brief whisper to Leif and she nods towards Branton, then straightens some. "I think that's it? Oh! Ben? Do you know Matteo?" Direction the other-other-other Fenrir towards the new guy to make sure introductions happen. "Branton's telling a story for us tonight."

Evonna smiles to Matteo, "Nice to meet you. I'm Evonna Kummerow, rited Blood Thorn, Fostern Forseti of mighty Fenrir. Good to meet you." She asks, "What brings you to the area? What sort of alchemy do you do?"

Ben nods to Zoe. "I've met him, yes. At the Smoke and Barley." He offers a wave to Matteo. "How is everyone tonight?" He wonders, moving to make himself a plate of the food.

Matteo is loading up a plate for himself and pouring himself a soda, "Nice to meet you Evonna. I'm just a bastet-kinfolk, so no titles here. Uuuuh, truthfully? It's exactly one hour from my giant family, just near enough to drive home to visit my literally eight siblings and their child horde." he says with a chuckle, "But far enough I don't have to be the constant baby sitter." he waves back to Ben with a smile, "As for Alchemy, well, I have some specialties, mostly in healing items and smokables that produce different effects - like astral projection, or keeping vampires ten feet away from the person with the smokes, but Alchemy is pretty open ended creation wise, with the right plants and a bit of trial I can make almost anything; so usually I just ask people what they are looking for, and like, almost always I can create something with the effect they want."

Matteo nods and then gets out a card with his number on it to offer her, "Incase you want anything made, I've got a small list of orders right now, but I work through them as fast as possible, and I don't charge us Gaians, nature provides the ingredients anyhow." he says with a smile.

Nathan wanders in quietly carrying something wrapped in tinfoil, not wanting to disturb anything that might be currently going on.

Erin turns to look as more people arrive and smiles softly. She gives a little wave and turns to look to Branton.

There's a big potluck with plenty of food set up, and a table off to the side with some primo smokes and cigars on it. There's people milling around and talking, though the main cluster is near the fire. Nathan gets a wave from the Fury kin, Leif is next to her with his arm over her shoulder. For the moment, she listens, letting the talk swirl around as introductions and information are traded.

When the time comes for story telling Branton steps forward with a guitar in his hand and he clears his throat to speak, in a strong clear voice "I have a story for you but its not a garou story. I know Lilah and her father were not kinfolk. And this is their story as told by their community. Sorcerers and witches, seers and fortune tellers. And some just plain people. I still think it has value for the garou to listen to because its a story about perseverance, about honor, and about how heroism can be found in some of the most unlikely places."

The guitar music for the song is simple, supporting the story and accenting it without overwhelming it. The phrasing is light at first, about introduction and acceptance, intending to leave one wondering just a touch about what her father's thinking.

Lilah loved her family and the land they worked upon. She minded what her daddy said, she grew up sweet and strong. Jared was the apple of his southern mother's eye, but the devil was his daddy, and he couldn't help but lie.

Try to stop a cyclone from going where it may. Try to stop young love from growing day by day. Lilah's daddy saw it in his little girl's face, but he never said a word about disgrace.

"That boy is trouble," all the ladies would agree, and they'd pester Lilah's daddy to put her under lock and key. He'd listen with the patience of a saint, but that was all. Gossip swirled along the wind through harvest into fall.

The intensity of the chords and singing starts to build and as the story pushes into conflict, Lilah's story starts to go more than a little wrong.

Lilah was a good girl 'til Jared came around. Her daddy felt the wind change, but didn't run him out of town. Lilah found her mettle when Jared did her wrong. "Boys will be boys" is such a tired old song.

Love demands a tribute grand enough to shake the earth. She will meddle in your life and in your death and your rebirth. Now, Jared ain't been seen for days and no one acts surprised. "Long time comin', and the river's bound to rise."

The little waltzing fireflies were glowing there above when Jared said "forever" in exchange for Lilah's love. That girl believed his every word, and so did he, until that Sunday, when the sight of Mary Ellen broke his will.

Anger stirs amid flickers of fear stir around the edges as the story continues

Mary Ellen was the preacher's child, as fair as she could be, but known for stealing kisses out behind the apple tree. Her pretty eye met Jared's, saw the wolf there in his grin, and mischief took to growin' in the garden there and then.

Lilah came on Mary Ellen walking with her beau, and there inside her heart, she felt the thorns begin to grow. When the preacher's back was turned, she cursed her suitor so, and heard the Devil's laughter outta nowhere, soft and low.

Lilah whirled around and met that Devil eye to eye. She stood her ground before him and he smiled, long and sly. "Too bad for you, Miss Lilah", said the Devil with a bow. "That boy has got you dreamin', and it's too late now!"

The fear of the last passage descends into nervousness and mocking sadness.

"Love will leave her mark on you and then leave you for dead. She will take the place of God and pluck the sense right from your head. Now, Jared's got a babe on you, my girl. Best keep it hid! Long time comin', and I know just what you did!"

The Devil laughed at Lilah's tears and kissed her shaky hand. "Don't fret, poor child. Your pa will help you find an honest man, or at least a man with a little less of me run through his veins. I fear that boys like Jared all gonna come out much the same."

The Devil walked sweet Lilah home and left her at the gate. "It's not the end, Miss Lilah. Don't you wail about your fate. I'll never be too far away to hear you when you call. Just curse my boy the way you did before, if I can help at all."

Now at rock bottom the melody wails in despair for a sharp moment before it starts building back up.

Lilah watched the Devil walk away back through the corn. She told her daddy everything, her heart all choked with thorns. He listened, and he fretted, but the only thing he said was, "you know that I have loved you since the day you first drew breath.

"No devil's words, nor devil's son can take that love away. It's up to you what happens, and it's not for me to say. I know my girl is strong and I don't need to hold her hand. Her mother was a goddess of the land!"

Love will pull a flush no matter how the bets are laid, and then she'll shake the walls down 'til your every debt is paid, but those who love you best will love you, no matter what they know. "Long time comin', and the cotton's bound to grow."

There's a sense of fragility being shored up along with the building power of the narrative.

Well, the Devil's been around as long as we've known how to sin, but the earth and rain are older, and they saw the world begin. Lilah found her power and she started to explore. Come the spring, her family's fields were greener than before.

Jared walked up to their gate, but Lilah kept it barred. He smiled his winning smile at her, but Lilah's eyes were hard. "Your daddy's got good manners too, but we still don't let him in. You had your chance and lost it. Best not come around again."

Then Jared saw the shape of her and knew what he had done. "Sweet Lilah, if you'll have me, I would do right by our son." Lilah's smile was sidelong, for she knew it was a lie. "No, the Devil is your daddy, and you've got a roving eye!"

Determination and resolve now showcased, throwing back temptation and the assertion of a path chosen.

But Jared wouldn't let it be, and swore he'd change his ways. The gate stayed shut, but Lilah lent a softness to her gaze. "Meet me and the preacher by the railroad track tonight. If you come, I'll know you mean it, and we'll set the whole thing right."

Love's no fool herself, though she makes fools of everyone. She burns us and she breaks us 'til the whole thing comes undone. Lilah's at the crossroads, but she's standing straight and tall. "Long time comin', and the rain is bound to fall."

Lilah never even told the preacher man just what she had in mind. She walked alone and heavy, and she led those cuss words fly. She met Jared at the crossroads with a gent all dressed in black. It was his first sight of his daddy, summoned up to take him back.

Evonna finds a seat and listens to the story. She is as always paying attention and taking in the information.

The sense of a door being slammed shut and sense of victory as the ballad comes into the home stretch

The Devil, being who he was, went after something more. He asked for Lilah's child as well, to settle all the score, but Lilah stood her ground and sent him running for the hills. She said, "don't make me call my mother," in a voice to give you chills.

The Devil didn't cross that line. He knows his limits well. There's a magic runnin' deeper than the deepest pits of Hell. "We'd best be gone, my boy, for there is nothing left to say!" He put his hand on Jared's shoulder, and they faded clear away.

Now, Lilah sits on Sunday, with a baby on her knee. Her daddy sits beside them, as proud as she can be. They never speak of Jared when the gossip wants to start, cuz all those thorns have turned to roses down in Lilah's broken heart.

A brief surge of intensity as the last verse fills the air before the song echoes off softly into the air.

Love's a vengeful goddess with her anger gone to flood. She will bless the waking soil with your body and your blood. Now, Jared ain't been seen for years and no one acts surprised. "Long time comin' and the river's bound to rise."

It was a long time comin', and the river's bound to rise

After the notes both sung and played fade from the air Branton speaks again "This is where 'and they lived happily ever after' usually goes but Lilah, her daddy, and her son were all real people. And real lives don't work that way but when you've learned to know your own worth and how to find your own bliss? You can do alright." And he takes his guitar and steps away from the performance area.

Matteo takes the time during the song to eat his food, listening along and smiling at the ending. He's not sure if you're supposed to clap at these kind of performances so for now he gives Branton a respectul nod which hopefully conveys, 'nicely done!'.

Ben was fixing his food - but stops to listen to the song played. Once it's done, he gives a round of applause. "Nicely done." He offers over to Branton.

Erin watches Branton as he comes to and end she let's go of her legs to clap and cheer him.

Nathan adds his package to the table of food, opening it to reveal barbecued trout, then applauds Branton before collecting a plate of food and moving over to join the gathering.

Killi listens, leaning up against Leif's side (He's RL'd a bit), chewing on the story, then grinning broadly at Branton. "That's a fantastic tale." she decides, giving Leif a squeeze. The sort of thing she'll likely turn over in her head for a while. Beckoning Nathan on over after he drops off his present of barbecued fish, she motions to the others. "Have you been introduced to everyone?"

Evonna looks up after clapping softly for Branton. "Well told, Branton!" She enjoyed that for sure. As Zoe asks about someone new, she peers to see who this person is.

Nathan shakes his head, "Nope, I see a number of people I don't know here.. which is one of the reasons I came, really." He waves, "Hey all, Nathan Taylor." He looks to Killigrew, "Do we do the long drawn out thing at these?"

Branton nods in gratitude as he puts away his guitar and Lockheed goes back to guarding the case. Branto for his part goes over to get a a beverage.

Matteo gives Nathan a wave, as they have met before and then heads with drink in hand to his smokers spot to settle in one of the chairs and resume his smoke.

Erin looks over to Nathan and gives him a little wave. She gets up to get some food filling a plate and getting a drink because you will need something to wash it down with right?

Evonna is a bit surprised that is all Nathan says. She's used to still at this gatherings giving a formal greeting when meeting another garou. She says to Nathan, "I am Evonna Kummerow, rited Blood Thorn, Fostern Forseti of Fenrir, a Valkyria of Freya, Beta of Shieldbearers of Sigun. I am the proud daughter of Henrich Kummerow, rited Bathes in Blood, Ahroun, son of Elder Godi, Helga Kummerow, rited Vision of Northern Lights." She then asks, "And you are... besides your given name?" Leave it to the forseti to be formal in these things.

Nathan nods, "Ok, that answers that question." He looks over to Evonna and replies, "I am ritenamed Rends the Sky, Cliath Ahroun of the Stargazers, born on two legs, son of Sings in Starlight. No pack as of yet."

"Usually the longer form." Killi supplies, a bit late, tucking the paper Matteo gave her into a pocket after reading it again. "Pretty sure everyone here has heard my lineage and the like." she says, pulling away from Leif to go and grab a bottle of sprite, cracking the lid off with a little hiss and taking a drink.

Erin smiles at Nathan "Erin Harrison, Kinfolk to Mother Ananasa and related to the Fae" she winks and then starts to eat her food.

Matteo is enjoying his hand rolled smoke from a respectable distance away but is still peanut gallery participating in the conversation, "Did the fishing photo gallery charity night go well? Did it raise enough money?" he asks the group, as he recalls a few people were there but not exactly who was running it.

Even while finishing fixing up his plate, Ben nods and offers over his introduction. "I am Benjamin Godwyn, Patience Of Eikþyrnir, Fostern Forseti of the Fenrir. Son of Stephen Godwyn, Clenched Jaw of the North. Grandson of Thunder's Reprieve. Great-Grandson of Tusk-Breaker." A nod to Nathan, before he moves to find a seat and start eating.

Nathan nods, "Pleasure to meet you all." as he sits down and starts eating. After a moment, he adds, "I've only been around the Sept for a month or so, but haven't had the opportunity to meet too many others, everyone always seems to be out on their own business."

"That's part of why I figured to get the meetings going again. Get people meeting people and hanging out again." Zoe says with a smile for Nathan. "It's been kind of quiet all around. Think the holidays and chasing bad guys have kept people doing their own things."

Erin nodsnods "Yeah it gets quiet, then super busy then quiet again" she gives a shrug.

Ben smirks. "All sorts of things going on. Battles, training, ceremonies." A shrug as he takes a bite of his food. "But there's always something." A nod to the others. Writing reality out to disk. Please wait... Reality saved. Thank you for your patience.

Matteo finishes up his smoke then rises from the chair with a stretch, "I'm gonna head back, make sure the potions I have brewing don't explode and burn down my entire apartment complex." he says with a chuckle, he's ... probably kidding. "I'll leave some of the smokes in a tin on the main table, if anyone wants to grab any for later, and some cards with my number if anyone wants to contact me about alchemy, or just like, normal being friends stuff." he says with a smile, and then begins to pack up, "Thanks for having me, as always, I appreciate it, truly."

Erin gives a little wave to Matteo "See you later, yeah don't go blowing up apartment buildings.. "

"Thanks for coming, Matteo. I'll talk to Leif about that offer and we'll get back to you." Zoe says with a smile for the other kin. "It's usually a little less chaotic and lot more structured. I'll work on some games to play. Maybe get the Wargames off the ground this time."

Nathan nods, "Hey, long as you're getting people together, it's a start. Anything past that is a bonus."

Matteo gives Zoe a smile and a thumbs up, and everyone else a small wave of goodbye, then he packs his van up and heads out for the night.

Ben chuckles. "We are just as familiar with chaos as we are law." A smirk to Zoe. "Wyld and Weaver, after all."

Killigrew lifts the bottle of sprite in salute to Ben. "Truth. You get used to a certain kind of chaos around here." Taking a drink from the bottle, she looks fairly pleased with the evening.

Erin looks after Matteo as she eats her food quietly.T

Ben nods, enjoying his meal. "As much as I would love for order, I don't expect it is applicable all the time. Rage, emotions - none of these are order-adjascent." A chuckle. "But it is for the best, over all."

Nathan chuckles, "Yeah, we Stargazers strive for order and balance a lot, but let's be honest, it's not the easiest thing for the Garou to achieve."

Leif got a phone call, which absolutely NEVER fucking happens, ever. He didn't even realize it was his phone ringing until Zoe nudged him a while back. So he took the call and wandered off and comes back, tucking the phone back into his pocket with a wrinkled nose and puts his arm back over Zoe's shoulder where it belongs. In his other hand, though, he has marshmallows and chocolate and graham crackers. "Someone handed me this on the way out."

"You should eat it." Zoe says, leaning back up against her Tallest. "I think with everything out of whack, we can forgive a little chaos. I'm just glad some people got to meet new folks and trade info and maybe get some good connections and a good story out of it."

"I do just fine with order and balance, thanks," Leif LIES. Look at that face. LOOK AT IT! He couldn't lie to save his life. He peers down at the stuff in his hand and shrugs. "Graham crackers are awful. Gritty."

Erin gives a little nod as she looks to Leif "yeah you eat it, it's good"

Ben nods in agreement with Erin. "She's right, you know." He chuckles. No comment on Leif being a pinnacle of Order.

Nathan laughs and eats a little more off his plate, "They're not so bad once you s'more them up though."

"You're pretty good at making them, aren't you, Erin?" Zoe asks, taking a drink of the sprite, smirking up at Leif. "Oh, yes, no chaos from you at all." Eyeing him, tone dripping with the snark.

Erin sagely nods to Zoe "Yeah, those are like my favorite to make"

Leif shakes his head, holding out the stuff to Erin. "Erin's going to make them for us? Neat!" Then he can wrap BOTH arms around Zoe and act as her coat. "I'm perfectly stoic and sensible," he says, just as a little wolf comes running up and sticks herself between Zoe and Leif's feet, peeking out like HAIIIIIIIIII!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And then she decides to HOWL her greeting <<HAIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII!>> and then flops over on Leif's foot.

Erin takes the offered smore "How do you know you will like it if you didn't even try it" she snorts at Leif.

Zoe, in turn, uses Leif as a leaning post while he plays coat. "Pe-" She starts, cut short by the arrival of the leggy wolf pup taking up residence between their feet and howling. "Freya! Did you have a good run? Huh?" Leaning down to ruffle the pup's ears, tugging one affectionately before straightening. "Wonder if she ate?"

Ben smirks at the arrival of Freya. Her howl is heard, of course. "Hello Freya. How was your run?" He asks, still munching on food from his plate.

Nathan grins and waves to the pup, "Hi Freya, catch any squirrels lately?" He continues to work on the food on his plate, perhaps wanting to get ready for the s'mores. Writing reality out to disk. Please wait... Reality saved. Thank you for your patience.

Erin realizes that Nathan is wating on her and she goes to gather stuff to make smores "So who wants one and with what kind of chocolate and cookie?" she asks

Freya peers up at Zoe and her tongue lolls out of her mouth and she wiggles there between Z and L's feet. Then she hops up and chomps on Zoe's fingers (Not hard. She isn't biting) and then RUNRUNRUNRUNRUNRS over to Nathan to sniff his foot, then (sorry) his crotch, then does a little circle and SITS on Erin's foot, even if she hasn't made it quite to the fire. "Prob...ably...." Leif says. "Just.. dear god don't give her any sugar." Freya hears 'squirrel' and she looks around, hopping up off Erin's foot, butt going in the air, front paws splayed. <<Gonna find it. Kill it! EAT IT! SQUIRREL SQUIRREL! SQUIRREL!>> A series of wuffs and chuffs are made

Leif just.. watches this for a minute. "Freya, be easy."

Nathan smirks, "No, she does _not_ need sugar." He looks to Leif and Zoe, "I take it the s-words keep getting away from her?" Looking back to Erin, he replies, "Surprise me, they're pretty much all good."

Killigrew laughs at the pup's antics. She doesn't understand wolf, but knowing Garou helps a little, "That sounds like she might be hungry?" she asks of Leif, snuggling back against him and watching the playful pooch. "She's pretty good at catching squirrels and rabbits. Not big enough to bring down larger game, yet. Won't be long until she starts hunting with Leif, though." And that kind of makes her a little sad.

Ben raises his hand. "I'll take one, Erin. Thank you." He smiles, watching the antics of the wolf pup. "Such a fierce huntress." A wink to the others. "She's learning quick if she can get to the squ... well, those two types of prey."

"Nathan said Squirrel. She's going to find all of them and eat them. Kill them. Such violence, Freya. She's probably hungry." Freya sniffs the ground, sniffs the air, then TAKES OFF toward the tree line. <<SQUIREEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELL!!!!!!!!!!!>>

Erin pauses as Freya sits on her feet then giggles when she threatens she is going to so eat the squirrel. She smiles and then heads to the fire as she begins to make some smore. The first one is offered to Nathan.

Nathan gets up to take the offered treat with a smile for it's maker, "Thanks Erin." He watches Freya declare war on squirrelkind and charge for the trees with a huge grin on his face. "That is a lot of energy."

"Ope, yup, there she goes." Killi laughs, watching the bouncing puppy butt as Freya tears off into the trees. "Lets just hope it's dead and she's hungry enough she doesn't play with it." she says with a crooked grin. "She's growing so fast. Big strong Coggie kin."

"She's like that pretty much from the time she wakes up until she collapses in exhaustion." Leif watches the little wolf -- who isn't quite so little anymore -- run off to murderize rodents and gives Zoe a snuggly hug and a kiss on the top of her head. "I'll take one too I guess, Erin."

Ben chuckles, finishing up his plate as he watches the wolf tear off into the treeline. "Like a rocket." He clucks. "She's almost infinite in her energy."

Erin offers another made smore to someone "Who else wants one?"

Nathan finishes off the smore, "I kind of remember being that young. Drove my mom nuts."

Killigrew passes the s'more to Leif, declining the offer of one with a little lift of the sprite bottle. "Leif found her and just kind of adopted her. Then he kind of adopted me. So we all know he takes in strays." she teases, bumping him with her hip.

Erin stops making smores and goes to put stuff away. She smiles "I better get going.. It was good to see you all.. Have a good one" she waves.
