New Hope Sanctuary - Main Room
The multitudes of main doors open up into a fairly expansive area. Volunteers are always there to greet people and show them towards registration. The right of the main doors is a door leading to what was once the main office of the school with a sign above the doorless entryway reading 'Registration'. It's back here that people's personal belongings are also held to prevent theft. Right beside the registration offices is a pair of steel doors leading into the library, which is stocked with a variety of books that have all been donated by the community. In the back of the library is also a battery of a dozen or so computers.
Back in the main room is the Common Area which is the only carpeted place in the entire school. It is located across the room from the main doors and sporting a few dozen mismatched recliners for reading or watching variety of movies that are usually playing, or simply chatting it up with friends.
Directly to the left of the entrance is a hallway that heads back past the main doors and a helpful sign claims this hallway leads to the bunks and politely reminds visitors to register back at the office, if they have not already. If one were to pass by the hallway, they would find themselves in the cafeteria. Open hours are from 5pm-9am.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Homeless Charity: Read Me(#16774) month event hosted by EirsWay Clinic and Velvet Dreams. People have gathered to serve food, offer sign-up for lessons on a variety of topics, some lessons are offered on site as craft projects. Other items offers are listed below. Kitchen is serving: ... (Something tastey) Clothing: A selection of spring/summer clothing has been brought in for those that need to replace their clothing. A collection bin is offered for clothing that is too worn out to be of use anymore. Bedding: New sleeping bags have been piled up for people to take. Restricted to 1 per person. A large amount of 'sleeping bag liners', basically a large sheet of cotton fabric made into a human size pouch. The purpose to keep the sleeping bag in good condition longer and it easier to wash with regular laundry. There is are collection bins set up for the old bedding that is being replaced. Personal Care package: Packages of personal care items fill a large bin for any that need it. The bags include new toothbrushes, deodorants, a comb, a brush, 2-in-1 shampoo/conditioner, body wash, a package of wet wipes. A laminated card in each bag gives the locations of places offering free showers doing specific times of the day. Housing Assistance: In the bag of personal care items is a laminated card where people can seek housing assistance. Medical Assistance: A laminated card in the personal care package of medical professionals offering free or reduced cost services. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Johnathan carries in some of the packages that they set up for the homeless people. Of course as always wearing far to excentric clothing but alas what else would he wear?
Skye walks into the sanctuary, his hands in his pockets. He glances about a bit uncertainly, seeing what's going on at the moment.
Caressa arrives a bit early to the shelter. This time she's employed a few big burly men to move the heavier items where they need to go. She points out places for the new sleeping bags and liners to be stacked up. Where the clothing racks should go and such. She moves a few of the tables further down to make room for Saraid's flower cart.
Saraid has brought in a collection of flowers for crafting projects and lessons in how to arrange flowers for those who are interested, and may seem the value in learning how to garden, along with little pots and various seeds for foods that will thrive in California's climate.
Johnathan would assist Caressa and help with the carrying to set everything up
Skye moves to the side to avoid getting in the way of the burly men. He definitely lacks muscles when compared to those men. He glances over at Saraid and smiles as he browses through some of the information she has set out.
Caressa smiles and gives Johnathan a kiss during a brief pause of moving boxes and setting up. "Thanks love." She glances over to Saraid, "I had an idea I wanted to run by you." She waves to Skye, "You made it!"
Saraid smiles and looks up at Skye as he comes in, "Good Afternoon Skye!" She smiles warmly, but as Caressa needs to talk to him, she lets them talk during the set up, placing the little pots, potting soil, bottled water, and instructions how how to care for the fresh vegetables and herbs.
Skye smiles at Saraid. "It has been a while!" He says, glancing over at Caressa and waving. "Oh yeah... I think you would have beaten me up if I didn't." He jokes, winking at her.
Johnathan returns the kiss with a smile then looks to Skye and waves to him "Heya"
Caressa blinks at Skye and her lack of amusement at his joke is obvious. "That's not very funny." She shakes her head and looks back to Saraid, "I was wondering if you have any big events coming up." She picks up a handful of the personal care bags and starts handing out as people come in the door.
Skye raises his hands to Caressa. "i was joking!" He says, shaking his head and waves to Jonahtan. He moves to hide behind Saraid.
Johnathan smirks "Caressa would not harm a hair upon your head" shaking a head.
Saraid tilts her head at Caressa curiously, "Big Events Sis?" She moves from behind the table and offers a hug to Skye. I had been occupied with flower arrangements for a few customers, and trying to think of creating a flyer and business cards as well. I just have hit a wall on figuring them out." She offers warmly.
Caressa nods to Skye, "I believe you were, just not all jokes are funny. I've heard you tell better ones." She smiles to Saraid, "I was wondering if..well...maybe some of the folks here might show promise in flower arranging. Pay one or two to help you put together the larger commissions?" A few more hygiene bagies are pasted out to people coming or going, "We can help you think on it and get it sorted."
Skye nods his head. "Yes..yes.. I know.. 'sides, if someone blew, I'd fall over.' He looks back at Saraid and nods. "oh, that's good that you're keeping busy. It's good to have customers!" He swallows and nods at Caressa. "Um.. yeah."
Johnathan would start helping with the handing out things getting the packages to the people who needed them there.
Saraid considers the thought, "I would love to hire people for the larger commissions, but it will take a little bit for them to start paying so I know what I can offer, part of my agreement with my current customers, is a trial period, so they know if my work, is worth it. So far they think so. I hope." She smiles at Caressa. "I could use some help with flower deliveries though." She looks towards those at the table though and offers, "I will definitely consider your suggestion though Sis!"
Caressa excuses herself and slips into the bunk room. Several minutes later she returns the crying girl propped on her hip. She looks the girl's mother, "Why don't you go get something to eat while I show Abby the flowers?" She motions towards the flower cart to indicate to the mother they won't be far away. "Johnathan, think we have anything small enough for this little one to wear?" Caressa ask while moving to the flowers and also asks the girl, "So what color do you like?"
Skye smiles at Saraid. "Well, if you need any help, just let me know. I do have some spare time." he says, glossing over the classwork he has. He looks over at Caressa and blinks as she returns with the girl. He smiles faintly.
Caressa offers a nod to Saraid too, "It was a thought and something...easy for those without professional skills." Abby whispers something in her ear which gets a nod, "I think we need a pink garland for little Abby here. Do we have one hiding out somewhere?" She raises a brow at Skye, "What about that homework though? Are you going to pass this semester? Thought any about your major yet? Flipping burger doesn't allow much of a lifestyle and you shouldn't hope to find some rich guy to take care of you."
Saraid pokes Skye in the side, "No you don't." She grins at him and works on taking some small primrose flowers, and weaves them carefully into a garland to gently place around Abby's neck, offering the little girl a warm smile as she does. "What do you think little one?" She winks at Skye. "I could use the help, but you need to worry about your classes to Skye."
Johnathan nods "I can arrange for something for her" looking to the girl and goes to work to make her something pretty
Skye makes a face at Caressa. "i'll be fine... my grades are fine. "He fibs, not making eye contact. "And.. wait.. a rich guy? A rich girl!" he protests and blushes, ducking his head. He looks back at Saraid and wrinkles his nose. "Not you too! I just need some variety!"
Abby pulls the back of her hands across her eyes, looking wide-eyed as the garland is layed around her neck. "Ooo!" She tries to put it on her head instead of around her neck.
Caressa smiles, "Maybe I should have said wreath instead. A crown?" She reaches to return the garland to Saraid before Abby eats the flowers. Her silver-violet eyes flitting back to Skye, "You're grades aren't fine." She corrects him. "Guy, girl..whichever floats your boat. As long as you're happy."
Saraid shakes her head, listening to them banter and laughs at Abby and gently takes the garland around her neck, "Hmm.. Let me see what I can do to turn that into a beautiful crown for a beautiful princess." She offers softly. and giggles at Sky's protest and clarifications. "They have to be Rich hmmm? Hopefully rich in love for who you are Skye."
Skye sticks his tongue out at Caressa. "Aren't you supposed to be doing things here?? You're not working.. I mean.. not that working." He glances at Abby and smiles faintly. Then he looks back at Saraid, making a face and looking at her to save him.
Caressa sighs at Skye, "I am 'working'. I'm watching Abby so her mother can eat." She stares at Skye and bounces Abby back up onto her hip. "There's a doll in that box behind the table. Mind fetching it? I think Abby would appreciate a new toy."
While Skye and Caressa fuss, Saraid makes a beautiful crown of primrose flowers for Abby to wear, sneaking little white rose's into the weave as well, before she offers it to Abby. "Skye is a big boy. He knows he needs to study." She shakes her head laughing. "There now a crown fit for a princess." She smiles at Abby. "Perfect I think."
Skye turns to look for the doll. He pulls it out of the box and then brings it over to Abby. He crouches before her and offers it to the girl. "Here you go. Would you like this?" He looks up at Saraid and smiles. "Oh, that's a lovely crown."
Abby looks at herself in the mirror that'd held up for her. "Piskie Queen!" She giggles then looks at Skye and the doll and instantly bear hugs it, and then Skye. "Bestest sis!"
Caressa looks over to see if Johnathan had been able to find anything for the little princess.
Saraid simply adores the little girl, "That is is right! You are the Pixie Queen." She boops the little girls nose. "The most beautiful in all the land." She then offers a graceful curtsey to the queen. It is easy to see how much Saraid loves children.
Skye loos startled as Abby hugs him and calls him 'sis'. He seems a bit flustered and pats the girl's shoulder. 'Uh.. there..there." he mumbles, glancing up at Saraid and Caressa uncertainly.
Caressa smiles and picks Abby up again, while giving Skye a wink. "Hey, kids pick up on things you'd never expect sometimes." Just about that time the young mother steps up beside Caressa and reaches to take her daughter back. "Hey Maggie. Johnathan is working on a new dress for her, and we got her a new doll." Caressa explain while giving the child back.
Saraid returns to her place behind the crafting table to help a few others, who have sat down at the chairs in front of it, and guides their hands, carefully through each step of creating the arrangement, and instructing them on how to cut the stems so they will not fall out, or die to soon.
Skye bites his lip and nods slowly at Caressa's comment, but he doesn't explore it. He stands up and steps back, glancing over at Saraid before looking to see where he can help out.
Caressa moves to replace one of the doctors at a screening station. Taking temps and blood pressure for those that take a seat. Questions are asked about how they are feeling and such. Those that appear to need more care are scheduled for medical visits during the upcoming week.
Johnathan returns after having done what he needed to do looking to the others moving to caressa and giving her a kiss
Saraid waves Skye over to join her. "You can do this Skye, help me. And I can make the King, a crown too." She smiles warmly at him. "See here, and then bring the stem this way." She smiles over at Johnathan and Caressa and then back to Skye. Saraid's hands very warm when she guides Skye's though.
Caressa gets up at the other doctor returns, surrendering the seat. She slip an arm around Johnathan's waist and returns the kiss. "I'm sure it will fit her fine." She says referring to the garment he was altering for Abby. "You know what I think would be cute? A 'Baby Goth' clothing line."
Skye smiles and nods his head, moving over to help Saraid. 'Sure. Just telll me what to do.' He says, following her lead and letting her guide him."
Johnathan chuckles "Could arrange that" smiles to her nodding
Saraid is happy to show Skye how to weave the flowers, "Be gentle about it, and patient, It is sort of like braiding hair." She offers reassuringly to Skye as she shows him by doing it herself, so he can see how she holds the stems and her hands.
Caressa grins and nods. "I was so hoping someone would show up to play some music again." She looks about. "I suppose we can leave the remainder of the sleeping bags and donations for people to pick up as they need them."
Skye seems to be quite good at weaving the flowers, deftly putting them together with a gentle touch. He nods his head. "I've done that for some of the girls in the dorms."
Johnathan smiles "Cant always have music love"
Caressa nods, "Oh, I know. People getting the items they need are more important."
Saraid smiles at Skye, "With those long fingers! You probably can weave their hair into crowns, and now you are learning how you can weave flowers into their hair too. You are doing beautifully Skye, and this is such a beautiful way to relax to. Sometimes I talk to the flowers too. It seems to make them happy. Mostly people walk by or trample them, but they provide so much beauty to our world, we can't take them for granted."
Caressa goes to let the office staff know what items and in what quantities they are leaving for them. She starts to haul the trash out as clean up begin.
Skye smiles at Saraid. "oh, thank you. It's not that hard and it's kinda fun." he nods his head. "I don't know if I'll talk to the flowers, but um.. yeah.. I'm happy to do this."
Saraid smiles at those gathered at the table watching the lesson and smiles at Skye too. "It is fun, and Abby was so thrilled with her crown too. It is definitely a crowd pleaser."
Caressa finishes with the trash and washes her hands before returning. "Your flowers are always such a hit, Saraid. Did you want to stay?" She looks to Skye curiously, "Or maybe we want to head over to Velvet Dreams? Dinner after?"
Johnathan looks to Skye and Caressa with a smile
Skye glances at Saraid and smiles. "it is." he looks back at Caressa and blushes. "I.. I'd love to but um.. I have to take care of a few things before the evening. Maybe later?
Saraid offers a smile to Caressa, "I'll stay for a little bit and ride my bike back home Sis. But I love that idea of a goth baby line! That is too precious!"
Caressa smiles and nods, "Tomorrow then, Skye, for sure." She looks back to Johnathan, "Home then for us?"
