Vic messaged Merek and, about ninety minutes later, she gets a reply.
After the brief text exchange and receiving directions, Vic takes public transportation to the beach and walks the rest of the way to Merek's house. Reaching it she approaches the door and either knocks or, if there is one obvious, rings the doorbell.
The house looks a bit simple, it's on the coast next to the waters, overlooking them a fair bit away from most folk. Merek walks to the door, which he opens for Vic. He wears a simple dark attire from the shirt to the pants, baggy about his features. The man looks to the woman, "Welcome," he greets.
"Hey there," Vic replies as she steps into the house, assuming permission to do so. "I met someone recently who gave me some information that I question and am gravely concerned about. I figured I needed to talk to a member of the Nine and that's you or Vertigo."
Well, people do tend to come to me to talk about things that need a Council Member, for some reason," Merek notes, "Vertigo's lines are generally secure though, I will listen to you," he states. "The whole house is a Sanctum, I wouldn't worry about it."
Vic nods and remains standing a few steps into the house, as far as she feels comfortable without an expressed invitation. "Alright, some groundwork first I guess," she says and then asks, "Do you know what Shen are?" and explains the question with, "My source is one, thus its relationship to the matter at hand."
"I believe I know what they are, not that I talk to them often," Merek notes then to Vic, with a nod. "We have many styles of Magi in the world."
Vic nods. "I don't know much, but I do know one now," she says. "So... apparently the New Hope Gym, Raise's place, is a front... Prospect Roasters also but he trusts that one. Any clue what he means? Haven't had a chance to ask him and want some clarifications before I go there."
Merek lifts up a brow to Vic, and looks a little bit perplexed, "I mean, it's possible a lot of places are fronts for Supernatural people, I wouldn't think on it a lot. If he tells you to worry on it, I would avoid it personally, although I wouldn't try to be too concerned. Prospect Roasters is a Mage front. It's... Been that for a while."
Vic frowns. "We've had meetings at Raise's gym, he's been at Prospect Roaster's meetings also... heck, I've been living there for more than a month now also."
Merek nods a bit to Vic, while he seems to think about it. "Well, I'm not sure there's a lot to be concerned about, a lot of Mages would've noticed if anything was an issue in it. I will look into it with some of the Council if you like, I wouldn't try to worry on it a lot though."
Vic listens to the advice and then asks, "Should I just flat out ask him his concern, especially seeing as how I live there? Either way, any advice on how i should handle the Shen?"
"I mean, if you think it was a concern, I would ask him, if you trust him to tell you, I would try not to get worried about it. Don't make issues where there aren't any so just try to work through that a little," Merek notes.
Vic nods. "He refused to deliver something to my home basically," she says, "I'm going to ask unless there's a reason not to, but I did figure I needed to check with a Council member first, so I appreciate your time."
Merek nods a bit to Vic, "You're welcome!" he states, while he seems to think about it, "If you find anything that you think might be useful to know, then share it with me!"
Vic nods again. "Will do, Merek," she says. "Thank you for your time," she adds before turning to depart.
