2018.04.08: Keres Stone of Scorn Rite

The following is relevant to events from 2017. Between waiting for IC investigation of the incidents, inactive players, gathering logs and comments, and reaching final decisions, the renown and punishment rites for it have been long in being finalized. With this they are finally closed.



After deliberation by the Elders, a Stone of Scorn rite for Keres is convened by the Sept's Ritemaster, Bane-Breaker. Keres is brought in and placed before a stone painted with runes. A feeling of mocking and disapproval radiates from the large stone so that all in attendance can sense it. "The Sept of the Enduring Spirit has born witness to shameful deeds by Monica Turner, rite-named Keres, Athro Homid Ragabash of the Black Furies. She shall listen to the recounting of those deeds. And may she feel remorse for the harm she has brought. We ask the spirits that she feel the true weight of these words even as this Stone of Scorn is marked to show her shame." The stone is then passed to the first Garou in the circle around the punished.


Journey looks at the Stone as it comes to him, and takes it. "I have suffered many slanders since coming to Prospect. Many lies about myself, spread around to others. Many times these come in retaliation against me for standing up and speaking against those who would disrupt peace, and harmony for their own amusement and manipulations." As he speaks he starts carving a Glyph into the stone with his fingernail.

"Monica, however, Monica has taken this to a whole new level. Having heard my words, she constructed a fictitious statement that was reprehensible enough to allow her to take a stand on a soap box and spread her lies to the Kinfolk and younger Garou of my Tribe without my knowledge.

"In the final ludicrous turn, when confronted with the truth, Monica advises I take more care with my words." He finishes the Glyph, and nicking his fingers, he begins to fill the small groove with his blood, completing the Glyph for 'LIAR'

"Well, I AM an Elder, and my words are for no one to choose but me. Least of all and Honorless bitch who has no idea how to deal directly with the rest of the Nations, or form her Pack without poisoning it with lies and untruths to foster a false sense of unity against the big bad Elders who she invents the words of. With this Glyph I decry Monicas lies, and set the truth before the Nations for all to see."

The stone is passed on.


When Dragomir recieves the stone, he considers it and nods his head. "I am younger than many in this Sept, and I am not an Elder. Since my arrival, I have witnessed great honor and hearing what I have of this disheartens me. As a Philodox, I have learned the Litany - as all Garou should. Especially, those who would seek to be an Elder." He begins writing his glyph on the stone and says, "Submission to Those of Higher Station." he says outloud, as he writes the glyph for 'Disrespectful'.

"We must submit to those of higher station, recognize their wisdom and learn from them. It is wrong for us to mock them, or ridicule them. It is improper to lie and show them disrespect. A garou who wishes to become an Elder one day, must learn how to treat an Elder today." and he hands the stone to the next person.


George takes the stone "Not only am I Eldest of the tribe Monica wronged when she turned one of our kinfolk against us but I am Eldest of her Auspice. Those of the Dark moon are supposed to question Authority and Defy tradition. When it is good for the Nation. When it is nessecary to serve Gaia. To go as far as she did, to do all of the things she did...." George has been carving this whole time, just one line so its one glyph but some how combining two Urrah and Fool. "I call her deeds blasphemy and her ways foolish."


When Jake receives the stone he frowns deeply and shakes his head. "I am not speaking as an Elder but as a pack mate to Journey-Rhya who is, without a doubt, one of the fairest, level headed and honorable Garou I have ever had the honor of knowing. He is also very wise and when he offers advice people should listen closely, keep their mouths shut, and seriously consider his words. The fact that lies were spread about him is reprehensible and dishonorable, especially knowing that he goes out of his way to help anyone and everyone in our Sept." He finishes his carving, actual anger in his eyes. He then underlines his glyph. Dishonor. The stone is then passed on.


Alecto steps forward, taking a deep breath and her eyes slip to Monica, sad, clearly disappointed. She squares her shoulders and takes one more long, deep breath before she speaks. "Monica, when you came to Prospect, you showed such promise. You were welcomed, brought into the fold despite your unique situation and issues. Back home, you were abused and outcast, but here, you were welcomed, brought up, encouraged. I personally believed in you enough to push you toward gaining rank and finding a place, for once, to belong." She takes a breath and there's a little growl as her sadness turns toward anger. "Then your words, your lies, your deception, caused strife within the Nation, your tribe, and those who had tried to make you part of their family. And now, here you stand in this Rite for all to bear witness to your shame." She carves a simple set of lines into the Stone, rather simple compared to some of the others. Betrayal. The stone is passed back to Banebreaker as the circle is complete.
