Rules
  • Babylon is off-camera.
  • That means your IC actions can't affect it. It's just for background or to explain rp.
  • It can be affected in a scene but it will just re-form one way or another for the next scene
Staff
  • Babylon's owners are a mystery. No one's ever been able to meet them.
  • It's unsure if this club is under the operation of the Camarilla, the Magi, something in between.
  • Lilly: A woman who likes to handle the dancers, bands and entertainment.
    (concept: Cher from Burlesque)
  • Frank: A man who likes to handle the bar, the waiters and the bouncers.
    (concept: Stan Tucci from Burlesque)
  • Michael: A young man who works as a Shot-Boy. He has short, brown hair and favors green and orange underwear.
  • Molly: A young, working-class woman who works as a Shot-Girl. She has long red hair and favors black corsets.
  • Johnny: A bartender who is well-known by the ladies. He has short, black hair, a trimmed, furry chest and favors tight, black shirts.
  • Jason: Another bartender who loves to sing on the stage.

Jobs at Babylon

Babylon is in need of staff. Anyone looking to work at Babylon could rp as Shot-Boys, Shot-Babes, Bar-Boys/Babes, Bartenders and possibly some Bouncers.

Shot-Boys / Babes are usually young, attractive guys and gals who walk around in their underwear (or corsets) selling plastic vials of flavored alcohol ranging from 1-3 bucks each. They are, essentially, selling themselves -and- the alcohol and make most of their money from tips.

Bartenders, typically, are hired only once the person has established themselves within the 'theme' of the club. Those interested in Bartending, who are not as yet skilled in it, can work their way up from the starting postion of Shot-Boy/Babe then eventually to Bar-Boy / Babe.

Bar Boys aren't actually tending the bar. They're not taking orders from customers but rather they are hauling ice in from the cooler in the back, pulling in from the racks or the like.

Security, technically, is handled by the mysterious owners but having bouncers around to help show people out should they get to rowdy is always needed.

Floorplan

Typically the floor plan for Babylon is fairly simple. A series of tables, each with four chairs, will line one wall with a bar on the opposite wall and a dance space in the middle. Four-chaired booths are arranged against another wall with a small, raised stage opposite them.

Events

Typically Babylon will host several themed events during the year. Halloween, New Years, Mardi Gras, Saint Patrick's Day are just a few.

Purpose
Babylon is a Semi-Private Nightclub/Floating Rave that people can use to help flesh out their character.

What do you do at Babylon?

Babylon is whatever people need it to be. It is a tool that will hopefully enable people to find more fulling rp out on the grid.

How to use Babylon:

  • Need a place for your character to bar-tend but can't find the owner of an IC Bar? Babylon.
  • Need a location for your character to get drunk at the night before? Babylon.
  • Want a job stripping but can't find the owner of an IC Bar (or want to pose stripping)? Babylon.
  • Want a stage for a rave or something similar but don't have one IC? Babylon.
  • Need a place to meet a contact off-camera so that you know what's going on IC? Babylon.
  • Need a job to explain resources 2? Babylon.

Literally anything that you need for a bg for your character, Babylon can provide.

Some players have used Babylon to break the IC/OOC barrier to meet other characters by using Babylon to explain how they met. I.e. "Hey, did I see you at Babylon last night?"
