Amberwood Forest
The Amberwood forest is a woodland area that would be as dense as any real world forest except that the trees here are grown from the purest of honey-gold amber. Towering trunks as tall as buildings with leaves as broad as a dinner plate, each of the trees is translucent; catching the light of the setting western sun like thick honey frozen in time.
Shard Cliffs
As the Amberwylds approach the western cliffs and the seas beyond, the rocky cliffs become more and more visible as you approach. The cliffs are covered in broken crags of honey-gold crystal like the quills on a porcupine and are home to the Amberwing Wyverns.
Firefin Lake
A lake bordering the Amberwood, the perimeter of this steaming body of water is lined with vibrantly red ferns. The water is near boiling to the touch and filled with several aquatic-based chimera like the dreaded, flesh-ripping, Fire Fin that can leap from the water and temporarily glide on their long pectoral fins.
Glasslands
A grassy plains area filled with razor sharp, cattail-like shards of amber glass that grow as tall as a man’s shoulders. Walking through this area can literally cut someone to shreds within a few steps. The area is full of venomous insect-like chimera, the feared red-scaled basilisks. . and the occasional pit of ambersand that will suck people to their deaths
Floating Islands
Just beyond the Shardcliffs and floating above the Ember Sea lies the most wondrous feature of the Amberwylds. Like large islands a drift in a sea of air and light, the large land masses hover over the small port town of Berrywick casting a shadow over the whole of the settlement on the shore below.
