Super Numbers lottery draw has finally been identified. Prospect local, Mr.
Peter Graham, has come forth to claim the forty-three million dollar jackpot.
Mr. Graham, who until recently has been employed by the Golden Dragon Comic
Shoppe, indicated that he had forgotten that he had purchased the ticket and
has been carrying it around in his wallet since the week before the draw.
When asked what he would do now that he's rich, Mr. Graham indicated that he
was thinking about buying a comic shop of his own and would spend more time
on his hobbies, which include translating the Harry Potter books into Klingon
and collecting Star Trek memorabilia. He also said that he hoped that now
that he had more time he would be able to meet a girl who shared his
interests and hang out."
The newscaster glances up at the image of Pete next to a superimposed pile of
cash on the screen behind him then looks back at the camera and gives the
audience a knowing smile.

(OOC note: I'm a bit late in putting this up! If you've already met
Banter, feel free to use this knowledge however you'd like, after the fact. :)
Back in the early '90s, there was an industrial funk rock band
(somewhere in the musical area between Skinny Puppy, Ministry and Die Warzau)
with a bad reputation known as Bombtime. They primarily played gigs in the
greater Los Angeles area, but their antics occasionally took them to other
parts of CA, the West Coast, and sometimes even further. Maybe they had a
video play on MTV's 120 Minutes, once or twice, for their song also called
"Bombtime." Their lead singer also went by the name of Banter and is a
complete dead ringer for the guy currently wandering around town with that
name. Back in the day, he was infamous for his high energy stage presence and
ability to attract groupies of every variety.

On a fairly reputable non-mainstream music blog, appears the following post:
LIGHT IN THE DARKNESS: VERVANE CIELO TO RELEASE 6TH HERBASACRA ALBUM ONLINE,
FOR FREE -- AGAIN
Readers of this blog should be no strangers to my fondness for the music of
vervanE cielo (that's small v, big E, small c, folks -- why, we'll never know
since he's never told us), ever since the Bombtime days. Those of you who are
old as dirt may remember said Bombtime, the industrial-funk-metal band vanE
co-wrote and synthed for back in the early '90s. (Pretty sure I saw them on
Beavis & Butthead a few times, but that might just be wishful thinking.)
vanE's the only member of that band to still be producing material -- hell,
he's the only one who's in the public eye at all. Those guys faded away
nearly as fast as they flared up, leading fans like me to wonder what the
hell happened to them ever since.
But let's get back to vanE and his gloriously angst-ridden solo project,
herbasacra, that's so very hard to classify. Is it darkwave? Industrial?
Neofolk? Post-post-punk? Minimalism? It's best described as a combination of
all of these and more. vanE's been releasing albums online since the dark
ages, and his newest, yet-unnamed project will be dropping by the summer for
free once again. Expect more powerful melodies and churning electronic
textures shot through with moments of pure, terrible beauty. And will we ever
see him on stage again? It's been years since his last performance, so don't
get your hopes up -- although rumor has it that he looks damn fine for his 45
years. I'm guessing it's virgin's blood or something, because I just can't
see the Prince of Darkness doing Botox.

Those who drink beer, ale or cider very well heard of Kayla, or at least her
company. Kelpie Brewers is a locally owned company that sells its goods to
local stores as well as bars. It's good, homemade alcohol, some of it with
unique little twists to make it stand out from the mass produced alcohols.
While it's mostly the vendors who know Kayla's name, drinkers of the
beverages would at least know the label.

at 11. That one lawyer, Curtis Lawson, going off again on some protest for
another criminal. Blocking a street, getting on his horn, whipping up anger.
Did you see that one time they had those bikers? One day things are going to
go just too far, and then what? Maybe he'll get his own show on MSNBC.

In recent news the Church of Satan had the 3rd Court of Appeals upheld the
ruling regarding their right to put up a display among the nativity scenes
traditionaly placed in Maple Park. Spokesperson for the church, Harper
Bertke, had this to say:
"This world is unfair. Life is unfair. Nature has gamed the system to be
unfair to us and the universe has shown nothing but a direct hostile loathing
to our existance. We've struggled to overcome these things and take our place
in the world. Amid all this unfairness shouldn't we stand up to it and be
fair to one another? This was a clear case of free speech use of city
property. I am glad the judges upheld the rights of the Church of Satan. But
there are so many other battles still to be fought. I just want a little bit
more fairness in our cosmos."
Harper Bertke is a specialist from Light Bringer Public Affairs well known for
her work as an advocate for fringe, minority and disenfranchised groups.
Considered an ally of the LGBTQ+ community and one of the backers behind the
recent social media storm #CopsStopKillinUs.

If you've ever turned on a TV in your life, you've probably heard of Emma
Galbraith at least in some capacity or another. A self-help writer, Emma hit
international fame thanks to her wildly popular syndicated television talk
show "Eye to Eye With Emma Galbraith," later named simply "Emma." She was a
talk show host in the same vein and general popularity as types like Oprah
and Ellen, known largely for her philanthropic and - primarily - educational
endeavors made throughout her show's run, as well as her positivity and good
humor.
She's probably more recently known for her religious movement, the Church of
Regenesis, established after she left her show. The Church has been labeled a
cult and a scam by some, but is growing in popularity through California and
beyond, especially with celebrities and the elite. Emma has recently
announced that she plans on building a Regenesis Institute in Prospect,
having recently moved here in order to laying out the groundwork for it.

just have an extraordinary taste. Or who just want to make an impression with
their new shiny outfit.

Fame 2:Black Metal Mogul Tue Jul 21 Vegard

Rumor has it that Vegard Torvik the lead guitarist and vocalist of the Black
Metal band 'Imperator' has turned up in Prospect. He is also the owner of the
record label of the same name. Having recently retired from live
performances and focusing exclusively on studio work, Vegard has over his
career managed to become a legend in his niche. Regarded as one of the most
progressive and influential metal bands out of Norway.
In his early years, rumors flew around of church burnings and animal sacrifices
held on the stage, creating a flurry of controversy that went worldwide. Any
amount of research done, it's easily determined that none of those rumors are
in fact true about 'Imperator'. Other bands of this era did in fact become
involved in murders, public suicides and church burnings this sort of thing
was frighteningly common in the early to mid 90's.

The Dreamscape Heirs Thu Jul 23 Caelyn

Aston and Caelyn Delaure are the children of world-famous author, D. L.
Delaure, which is actually the nom de plume of the husband and wife team,
Dominic and Lucia Delaure. They wrote the hit Young Adult fantasy novel
series, "Dreamscape", reaching five books before they died tragically in a
plane crash in 2003. The last novel ended on a cliffhanger, leaving fans
hungering for more. Though some short stories have been published in the
intervening years, along with films and other adaptations, the series remains
woefully unfinished. Though Aston and Caelyn are nowhere near as famous as
their late parents, fans may be aware of their names and the fact that they
are the heirs of the Dreamscape empire. It is also notable that the Delaure
home, located in the woods south of Prospect, is occupied once again after
sitting empty for twelve years.

There's been a lot of buzz on campus in the athletics department. It seems UC
Prospect has managed to land a fairly coveted recruit for their football
program. An All-State athlete 2 years running in both football and track,
Archer Marshall was at least regionally known as a top prospect at the
Quarterback position, coming out of Los Angeles. High school teams he led
made the state playoffs all four years, with his senior year seeing them lose
in the semi-finals. A 4-star recruit according to Rivals, there were a lot of
questions about Archer's academic standing by the end of his senior year.
While he was originally courted by major programs like USC, UCLA, Oregon and
Arizona, he wound up taking a full-ride offer from UCP. Many suspect this has
something to do with his grades. However, he's the highest recruit the school
has landed in a while, and there's no small amount of hope that his stellar
dual-threat playing style might help the team win a few more games. Though,
he would have to clear the grades to be elligible to play. Anyone who follows
football pretty well would recognize his name, if not his face. And while
he's not looked at as some sort of Messiah, there are some pretty strong
expectations for him to be the top backup as a Freshman, if not see a few
snaps with the first team offense this year.

Eva is just starting to peak into national level awareness. Bringing a fresh
spin to many organizations and ideals, she often finds herself lobbying her
community and rallying public interest. Meals on Wheels, Clothe the Homeless,
Reduce our Carbon Footprint, LBGT rights are just a few of her favorites.
Her most recognizable projects are a Smoker's Bane commercial in
collaboration with Project Truth, smoking cessation posters can still be seen
around the city. Eva was also recently featured in Rolling Stones magazine
for her Free the Music Trade-in program and follow on Keep it Green concert
tour; where many famous bands played for free while supporting and raising
knowledge of environmentally friendly issues.

Alistair Black is likely known just as much, if not more for his Family
ties than for his writing or any of his other work. The Blacks are a rather
large train-wreck of a family, European old-money, ripe with incest,
scheming, intrigue and drama, some of which has spilled out into the public
eye (IE: Tabloids). While his connection to his family is likely to bring him
attention and certain benefits, not all of that attention is likely to be
good. "Oh, so you're THAT Alistair Black. Didn't your sister get arrested for
assaulting that police officer in Portugal?"
Despite this, Alistair himself has found some small measure of
recognition as a blogger/freelance writer for various fashion, high-society,
and lifestyle magazines. Unfortunately, however, most of that tends to be
overshadowed by his family ties.

Eight year old Rachel Holiday's double parricide trial had a huge nationwide
impact on news media. The young girl was found covered in blood at the scene
of the crime eating a pomegranate with the murder weapon. After a neighbor
called local authorities after hearing what he described as horrific
screaming. Police had discovered Rachel's father Michael Holiday and mother
Lisa Holiday had been stabbed for a total of sixty-two times. The resulting
trial blew up sensationally in the press as charges of insanity, child abuse
and even imminent danger where presented before the courts. Rachel was
effectively tried as an adult, the death of Michael Holiday was ruled as a
justifiable homicide while, Lisa Holiday's was ruled as voluntary
manslaughter. Charged with a sentence of 15 years, Rachel has been recently
released after 12 years for good behavior.

Orianne has been a touring musician for close to a decade now. She has received
some success fronting a goth-pop band named "Fire of the Mind." You might
have seen them opening for a larger band or as a lower-tier act at a large
festival. She has a solo project named "Origenetics" where she sings and
plays guitar (with various effects) and has a sound that varies from ethereal
to noise-pop. This project is less well known in the mainstream, but more
popular in certain underground niches. She has appeared in a few music
magazines for her ensemble and solo project (never a cover or anything like
that.) Both projects have releasesd a number of albums, EPs, and split-EPS
over the year. The solo project is well known among the "cassette culture"
scene and what that's mutated into with the decline of cassettes. References
for solo-project sound: Coil, Earth, Grouper, similar goth, shoegaze, and
dark singer song-writer material. References for group-project sound: Keeping
up with trends in darker pop music while staying somewhat original --
basically what it takes to survive as a touring mid-level band for a decade.

Fame 3: Orianne Latour's new Album Fri Dec 04 Orianne

Frontwoman of "Fire of the Mind," Orianne Latour released a new solo-album as
"Origenetics," entitled "Jane's Town." The album was praised by "Pitchfork"
as one of the best of the year. Mainstream publications also picked up on the
hype, some adding to it, and some being typically contrarian. The album was
unique in being a semi-quintuple album. An English version was released on CD
and Vinyl, but there was also a free web-only release of the album in French,
Russian, Arabic, and Spanish. In press releases, Orianne noted being inspired
by Linda Ronstadt. Some noted that her solo act was possibly eclipsing the
group she was fronting, but she assured the press that she has no intention
of leaving "Fire of the Mind." The multin-lingual effort caused a storm of
praise among the interntional twittersphere. However, there was some backlash
for the Arabic release, with some calling her a "Terrorist Sympathizer."

Unless you've been living under a rock for the past few years, you'll have seen
the pop-star 'Phoenix' on TV, billboards, and all over Social Media. While
her real name (Esther Addams) is general knowledge only to her fans.
Typically, her stage makeup is eccentric, and her dress sense esoteric -
Blacks, and all shades of red and grey. Residents of Prospect are stunned to
find her in their town, while her current hit has just recently peaked at #1
on the US Top 40. Some relevant information on her career is in her +notes.
The Singer/Songwriter has recently declared that she'll be continuing her
education despite her fame, while working on her musical career.

Zack is a D-list celebrity, a rich and famous trainwreck of a partyboy
with more money than sense, who has recently found new cache due to an
unintended appearance on an episode of 'Keeping Up With The Kardashians'. His
gleeful, effortless mockery of some of the principle characters went viral.
Since then, he's done cameos on most of the celebrity reality shows, although
never by choice, and he's become an unlikely hero for those who love to hate
celebrity culture.
The irony is that every time one of these shows gets Zack mocking
people on camera, their ratings spike. He has yet to agree to show up on one
on purpose, but it's not like it's hard to figure out where he is, so like it
or not, his TV career isn't ending anytime soon.
