- Jaz and Hands: This well-known-within-the-culture TikTok duo is a woman (who we mostly know through voiceover) and an orange polydactyl long-haired tabby cat who made funny videos. A few of them have gone seriously viral, enough that she's made a fair amount of money and put it away to live on once the whole TikTok fad dies out. She's often filming Hands' antics, and has a leash and harness for him -- when he's not riding her shoulders. He's usually with her, though he seems to go unnoticed by most people unless they *really* pay attention. Speaking of Hands, she actually talks to him sometimes. Not baby talk, actual conversation, almost as if the cat understands. She also spoils him. Shocker. Crazy Cat Lady Alert!

While the story's become outlandishly exaggerated, that actually happened to Jaz five years ago. It was the moment of her Awakening, no less. So no, it's not a urban legend. Dorm Fall Girl is real!

- Node Guardian: Jaz wound up as the guardian of a not-insignificant Node outside Prospect. Her former mentor, Jay Walker-Between, was a Dreamspeaker master who had been scarce over the past few years, since he took on a student (that being Jaz), but he was known as an eclectic sort of shaman, a spirit-speaker of the urban type, and his death was quite recent as the result of pattern bleeding thanks to Paradox.
- Dreamspeaker with a twist: Jaz is very much a child of modern paganism and uses a lot of its trappings in her workings. She is most gifted in Spirit, of course, but has other skills as well. She is very atypical for a shaman, and in fact, calls herself a 'spirit witch.'
