Ande sniffs the night air, a regal grey wolf with bright amber eyes. She looks to Ben and Evonna, her eyes warm. //It's a good night for a hunt. I'm glad you were interested in joining.// The night is indeed beautiful; 74F and partly cloudy, the moon is radiant and fully, and only partially obscured by dark, wispy clouds, inspiring the lupine blood to rise even more with the anticipation of a hunt.

Huge Gray Wolf's nose goes to the sky, breathing in the night air. He chuffs, looking over to the others. <<What are we hunting tonight?>> He asks, his feet digging into the turf.

Blood Thorn pads around the other two and then sits back on her haunches and looks up to the sky. >> It is a good night. Hopefully the game will be plentiful. <<

Ande sniffs the air again. >>Mule deer are plentiful this year.>> Her eyes gleam in the moonlight. "And they are satisfying prey, nocturnal feeders --- they feed in the early darkness of evening and morning.<<

Fucknormous Wolf comes wandering up out of nowhere. How is something that fucking huge so goddamn quiet, really? Who knows. Maybe that's why Leif makes the big bucks. But first he isn't there, then he is.

Blood Thorn chuffs >> Then we should be able to get plenty of meat for Stonecreek and share with the Kinfolk house. Our Hunt shall be glorious and we will thank their spirits after. <<

Ande sees Fucknormous Wolf, and lowers her head respectfully. <<Will you join us?>> She asks this with much wolf-ly anticipation.

Huge Gray Wolf's nostrils flare, eyes going in the direction of the scent spoor. <<A strong buck and his herd. No young.>> He chuffs, nodding to the other absurdly large wolf.

Ande nods her relatively small head to Huge Gray Wolf, then looks respectfully to Leif. >>Will you lead the hunt?<<

Fucknormous Wolf's nostrils flare and he dips his head once. << I will. >> He glances around, lifting his nose to the air a little. <<Who has the scent? Mind the females. Leave them be, but remember that they can be fucking fierce, so watch your ass. Literally.> But then he shakes his head. << No. I am honored for the invitation, but I would like to see you out in front, Spirit Fire. We are all more than our Auspice. >>

Blood Thorn has a toothy grin, if you can call it that. >> I smell them too. Spirit Fire, you were born for this, and we shall follow your lead. <<

Ande's blood rises even further, and she almost seems to grow with the pride that she feels at leading the hunt. >>We're off.<< And without further ado, she moves away at a fast lope, sprinting south expertly through the tall, dark trees.

Fucknormous Wolf says, through the pack link to Ben, "Hold back a little. Let her take this one as much as she can. We can all play back up." And then he takes off as well, loping along, but letting Ande take the lead.

Huge Gray Wolf nods to Fucknormous, loping along with him - letting the Theurge take the lead. It is her hunt!

The evening air is pristine; crisp and filled with the smell of the forest. As you all move quietly through the trees, still relatively far from the herd, the sounds of small animals scurrying into the brush at the last minute follows your progress through the trees.

Ande is at home here, this is what she does. But having a pack to do it with? That is just amazing. It gives her extra energy and purpose.

Fucknormous Wolf lopes along at the back. Part of leading properly is also following sometimes. He gives Evonna's tail a little tug and a chomp, conveying the same message to her as he did to Ben over the link

Blood Thorn stalks along quietly. Having grown up with a no moon brother has helped her in this task. She continues to sniff for their prey and keeps the others in her sight. Ande in the lead, she'll do what she is directed to do.

Huge Gray Wolf is happy to be out and about, and on the hunt. He bumps the Jarl and Evonna as they run, in a playful and friendly way. It's a good night. He's not actively making a lot of noise, simply loping along.

Ande slows down as she seems intent on getting the scent again, and prepares to shift direction. She looks back at the playful bunch and her eyes gleam with amusement. >>This way.<< She prepares to move slightly more south-west.

Blood Thorn follows Spirit Fire in that south-west direction and then quietly says >> We got another hunting. South. Be ready. <<

Fucknormous Wolf's head tips a little to one side. >>I smell it. Stay upwind if you can, Spirit Fire.<< But he bristles a little, ready.

<<They're eating the juniper in the thicket. There's a path about thirty yards that way. That should take us out of the range of whatever we're smelling.<< the fucknormous wolf mutters as they move along

Ande nods to Blood Thorn and Fucknormous Wolf, slowing to consider the suggested approach. >>Excellent. We should make haste, then. And quietly.<<

Huge Gray Wolf nods his agreement, staying quiet and moving with much more deliberate care now. Something is afoot - to the south, indeed.

Ande is vibrating with the excitement of hunting with another group of deer. She does take the path pointed out by Leif --- and moves swiftly along it. Slowing to approach very quietly, and resting a moment as she takes in the grouping.

Sure enough, as everyone progresses along the trail, the scent of the herd is overwhelming, and it also seems impossible that they haven't detected the pack of wolves or the predator that is out there.

>>Three of us will kettle the herd, while one of us keeps watch for our competition.<< Ande waits to hear who will volunteer to watch for the predator, and who will partake in the hunt.

Blood Thorn steps silently, closer and closer to where the deer are. Sniffing them all out and the juniper patch she waits for Spirit Fire's direction. When asked, of course she responds quietly >> It would be my honor to watch for the predator. <<

>>Call out if you need us,<< Leif tells Evonna, and nips her booty as he passes, taking up space just slightly behind Ande and to the side of Ben to wait for Ande to give the command.

It is her lead - Ben follows orders. He moves into position, creeping low and quietly. Oddly silent for such a large wolf! He and Leif must practice to account for their size!

Ande nods respectfully to the Adren, Blood Thorn. >>I am honored to hunt with one so fearless.<< With that, she looks to Fucknormous Wolf. >>You are the fastest and quietest; you will take the lower south side, in case Blood Thorn needs you.<< She looks to Huge Gray Wolf. >>You have shown incredible grace and speed. Wait here. I will take the north. When I howl, join in!<<

Ande lopes off quietly to circle around and take the herd from the upper North.

Eh, fuck. Fuck fuck fuck fuck. Leif gets a good whiff and circles back toward Evonna, cutting off her path. >>Wyrm.<< he informs her. And then he says over the pack link to Ben, >>This is a Fomor. I have no idea how Spirit Fire is in battle. Use your judgement and either bring her back here to fight or keep her away.<<

Perhaps it's for the best. As Ande and Huge Gray Wolf close in around the herd, they get seriously spooked. The mule deers heads perk straight up --- the large buck startles and looks around, as the females and younger bucks fall in behind him.

Ande's eyes narrow and she, unfortunately, lets out the howl that is meant to initiate the attack. Loud and clear, it is meant to strike fear and confusion into the hearts of their prey --- that it does, but it also makes her position pretty clear.

Blood Thorn narrows her eyes, and nods to Leif awaiting his orders, as when a Fomor is involved, it falls to the highest ranking leader to set the plan. She sharpens her claws and prepares for battle.

A low growl reveals Ben's position. <<WYRM.>> He howls back to Ande. <<SOUTH. THAT IS THE HUNT.>> He growls, leaping forward to scatter the deer. It's clear, he believes Ande is up for a fight. The prey, the natural prey, gets a pass tonight.

The fomori is not shy, in fact, having picked up on the presence of the lupines, it seems to become enraged. If not for the wyrm-stench and hateful gaze, you might feel sorry for this pitiable creature. In the early stages of rotting, his once cute furry face is blackened and oozing yellow pus. Patches of fur are missing all over his body. In some cases, the rotting is so bad that his bones are visible; fat, grey worms fall out of the hole in his face as he leaps in.

Crunch. Snap. Pop. RAAR! Evonna is replaced with a furry nightmare!

Blood Thorn morphs up into her larger Crinos form, and swings around to the right of the Fomor. As they are about to all pounce this WYRM CREATURE, Evonna gets the jump on it and as she thinks she has got it, it slips out of her claws! The easy kill she thought is gone! But hopefully just to give the guys a better shot at it!

The Wall lunges in just as it slips from Evonna's grasp. Massive teeth bite into its FACE and jerks his head sharply to the left. He doesn't quite rip the thing's head off, but it tears free from his massive jaws with the force of it, tossing the thing onto the ground

Now bristling with knobby, warty hide - Patience Of Eikþyrnir moves forward to provide a shield if needed for Spirit Fire to attack the Fomor. Her hunt, her kill.

Spirit Fire approaches the other lupines and the fomori, she rakes her claws rendered razor sharp, on the way, in anticipation. The creature is almost dead, and she is well-aware that the other Get are allowing her the honor of the kill. She roars with rage, and executes the creature by finishing the job; severing its rotting head with her claws. In the aftermath, the forest is deathly silent. Everything has either fled or stopped dead quiet in the wake of this interruption of their pristine, natural wilderness.

The Wall takes one more good sniff of the air and almost gags on the smell of his own breath. He licks his chops and then ends up just chewing a clod of dirt to try and get the taste out. Omph nomph gag ralf. Awful. >>Good kill, Spirit Fire.<< Yes, it was given to her, but none of them will ever speak of it. It's a legit kill. >>Throw us some cleansing and let's head back home.<<

There is a lingering stench of warm --- this creature came from somewhere, and it seems unlikely that it is alone out here.

Ande performs the rite quickly and efficiently. She sprinkles pure water onto a branch and lights up another branch. While she walks, counter-clockwise, in a circle around the beast, she invites the others to join her as she howls to frighten away the corrupting influence.
