Cabin - Grounds(#11984RLU)
This is a large tract of virtually untouched forest. Approximately ten acres surrounded by a high wooden fence. A long gravel road leads in a lazy curving path through the large front gate and further into the property. Somewhere roughly around halfway through the property, there's a small clearing where a large, older-looking two story log cabin sits. While it looks to have been there for a few years, it appears to have been recently fixed up but it doesn't seem to resemble a normal cabin as one would think of it. It almost appears to be on stilts by the way it lacks anything that resembles a normal wall. Though the scattering of furniture and other items suggests it is a fully furnished home.
Behind it there is a winding stream that flows through the property varying in size though there is a substantial pool where it slows before coming together to flow off once more. Set closer to the house the rise of steam marks what seems to be a hot spring though with the flow of chilled water in the stream it leaves one to wonder if it's natural or how it even came to be. Finally there is a small wooden platform hardly raised up off the ground and a stone wall stands about seven feet high, covered in hanging vines wrapped about it, a large tree seeming to having grown through the platform providing it's own cover and shade. There is a shower head that comes off of it and a faucet to adjust the tempature of the water that flows from the outdoor shower. Tall brush and dense foliage seem to give it some cover as well while giving it a very open feel at the same time.

The Truthcatcher finally got a little time to BREATHE and then called for Lleutrim to come and see her while things are still stable. It's been a MESS lately for the poor Black Fury. On the way, the guide assures Lleutrim that though she's Black Fury, she doesn't APPEAR to be a man hater and she's known to be LOGICAL and maybe not always FAIR, but at least there is justice. Or something like that. Also, there are pups. They're almost grown and they're kind of assholes, but they aren't aggressive. About that time, as they approach the territory of the Truthcatcher, there is a chorus of howls from younger wolves. <<INTRUDER ALERT!>> <<EAT THE INTRUDER!>> <<MY TURN!>> <<NO, STUPID! MOTHER CALLED FOR THIS ONE>> <<SHUT UP DOT! EAT THE INTRUDER!>> <<NO YOU GUYS QUIT IT!>> And this is interrupted with a snarl from further in. <<STOP THIS NONSENSE. YOU ARE ALL TOO OLD FOR THIS>> Then there is yelping and the sounds of scuffle and then submissive little whimpers and whines, but not of pain. Mama just asserting her authority. By the time Lleutrim and his guide come into view of the territory, the regal jet black wolf sits, waiting, with two cubs to each side of her, for a total of four, all perfectly well behaved and waiting
Ghost-on-Water is the escort, driving Lleutrim out in the beat up old pale blue Ford pickup truck. They stop and park a ways out and walk in the rest of the way so the vehicle might not offend anyone with it's noise or smell. Ghost, being a fairly laid back Ragabash garou, looks pretty amused at all the racket the cubs kick up and pokes Lleu with an elbow, "Wait for it."
Donnachaidh raises a brow, not looking worried. He is alert in the event they get rushed. Sure enough there is a more authoritative. voice that calls things to order. By the time the pair of them walk up towards the cabin, Lleu's mouth twists wryly at the sight of them all lined up.
Ghost-on-water stops and puts a hand to Lleu's shoulder, "Brought you some fresh meat. I hope you are hungry - he's got some meat on him."
Almost a snort out of Lleu, "Greetings. I'm Lleutrim Donnachaidh, Cub, born on two legs beneath the gibbous moon, no tribe yet. Welcome to just call me Lleu." It's a short intro. He isn't bothering with the PPD or Marine Corps add ons anymore.
There's a snort from the Wolf and a nod, <<Males are far too stringy for me. Behave, Ghost-on-Water. Don't scare the cub. You're dismissed. I'll escort him back to wherever he needs to go, myself.>> There might actually be humor in her tone. Then she shifts up smoothly to her homid form. She's got on yoga pants and a tank top and that's it. Comfy clothes. "I am Alecto, rited Howls-at-the-High-Moon, Elder Philodox, born on four legs of the Black Fury tribe. Daughter of Slay-the-Wyrm, Granddaughter of Free-the-Tide, great granddaughter of Bite-and-Twist, great, great granddaughter Judges-the-Weak, great, great, great granddaughter of Honor-Among-Thieves, follower of Tijuana, protector of the weak and innocent and Truthcatcher to the Sept of the Enduring Spirit. You are welcome here, Lleutrim. Please sit." She motions toward the wolf cubs. "Spot, Dot, Smudge and Bruiser." Bruiser is the smallest, a male, but looks like he could take on a full grown wolf no problem. "I'm sorry that it took so long for me to get to you. There have been .. issues.."
Alecto gets a respectful nod out of Ghost and after a polite acknowledgement, he turns and walks back out to his truck. Good not to be a baby sitter for a few hours!
Lleutrim doesn't look like Ghost was scaring him. Donnachaidh has probably figured out by now that he and Ghost share a similar sense of humor and cross infected one another with lots of goofballness. He smirks a little and tries to hide it - try to be respectful before an Elder. Wow, another long introduction. The former Marine does as she directs and settles himself to sit cross legged on the ground. A polite nod to the others, "Pleased to meet you, thanks. Not a problem. I've been doing all right. I have some excellent teachers, Truthcatcher-rhya." A hesitation, "Is that how I should address you here, or do you prefer Howls-at-High-Moon-rhya?"
Alecto dismisses the wolves with a little headbutt and they scatter. They're in trouble and they know it. "Just Truthcatcher, or Howls at High Moon Rhya or you may just call me Alecto, unless you're in trouble, then I expect full honorifics. Everyone has their preference. I prefer to be friendly whenever possible. It isn't always possible, but in this case.." She smiles. "Can I get you something to drink or eat? This is an official visit, but it's also social to an extent. I just want to know how you're doing, any issues you've come across, any need you have. You may speak openly and honestly with me, so long as you are respectful and I will offer you the same."
"Understood, Truthcatcher-rhya. No, I'm fine. I do not hunger or thirst, thank you for offering." Lleu is relaxed and smiles a little, "I think I'm doing all right. My first change was .. very unpleasant but it could have been a lot worse. I'm grateful to Eye-of-the-Storm-rhya and his pack for taking on so much trouble to look after me during that time, and to try to teach me some basics. To keep everyone as safe as possible, myself included. I know I seriously tested Eye-of-the-Storm-rhya's patience. I was worried for a while and pretty angry about ... an issue to do with a woman I had been seeing. I'm more optimistic about that now, thanks to some clarifications Nascha made." He gives a shrug, "I am eager to learn. I study, I've been going into the umbra, learning about spirits. I want to find someone who will work with me to learn to fight as a garou. I'm a former Marine but I gather guns, explosives, and air strikes aren't precisely the usual methods to combat the Wyrm's influence. Not the most subtle for preservering the Veil." Amusement is in his silvery grey eyes as he studies her.
Alecto nods. "I heard. I also heard about Soriba and Sabaro. That matter is finally being dealt with, along with the missteps that Eye of the Storm-yuf made in your earliest training. He's prideful, but that's normal for his tribe. And since everything came out okay, there will be no further repercussions on him for that. He SHOULD have immediately contacted the council or at least the Den Father that you were about to change." She shrugs, letting it go. She leans forward a touch as Nascha and this girl is mentioned. "What sort of issue are you having?" The Umbra thing? That.... She visibly twitches. Alecto HATTTTTTTES the Umbra. "If you want to learn to fight, I will be glad to be one of your teachers. I don't fight fair. I will hurt you. Guns and explosives have their place. We had a ... drai--drooooo... flying thing.." She waves her hands upward. "Small flying helicopter.. over the caern and no one had the ability to take it down. Don't discount firearms. They have their uses."
There is a raised brow at 'missteps' that Dragomir had made but Lleu holds his tongue to hear what Alecto has to say without interruption. A slow 'Ah' sort of nod as she explains what he wasn't aware of. Then she tells him even /more/ interesting things. Lleutrim grins, "If I had the equipment, I can deal with helicopters. The messy but very effective way is to use a SAM, which you can fire from your shoulder and are easy to use and hide. Very portable. But a more subtle way would have been to jam it's electronics. A Glasswalker could have done that for you, I imagine. Or send a spirit to wreck havoc with it. Jake's people, that's right up their alley at Rescue Tower One. If it isn't, then there's something I could be speaking with him about setting up. Also, drones and low altitude air strikes could be set up and if used carefully, can be done 'under the radar' of local authorities. Depending on location." Then he frowns, "Only, Iris told me that nobody's going to dedicate any kind of tech without Elders approving it. Since I'm not a Glasswalker. I don't even have my phone or keys dedicated and ... that's inconvenient."
There is a moment spent thinking and then Lleu nods, "I will come, if you'll have me. I may prefer to fight honorably, yet I'd be a fool not to want to know how to fight dirty too. The more I know, the less I may be taken by surprise by an enemy. I'm also trying to learn about gifts so I'll be prepared when it's my time to learn them." Thinking, Lleutrim adds, "As to the other, I had misunderstood how long it would be before I might be allowed to be with a gal I really like. I'd been told Adren, but Nascha said maybe sooner than that. I was angry at the notion that it might take me years before I would be allowed to see her without ... you know, a baby sitter escorting me around everywhere."
Alecto beams a smile at the cub and she nods. "You are learning about gifts before you can even use them. This is good. Have you been put on the patrols yet? I don't know much about RTO, but you should speak to him about that, absolutely." Then she nods about the tech. "It is discouraged. Elders and spirits should approve. House keys are unnecessary, phones ... we have... I think.. maybe Journey has access to a magical phone that CAN be dedicated without issue. A couple pairs of clothing, any fetishes you might possess, talens I believe are automatic." Then she nods as she listens, brow arching, and she shakes her head. "There is no reason that a Fostern can't take a mate. I've seen it at Cliath. I suppose that if your girl has a guardian and they insist you be Adren, that's different, but depending on their rank, you can challenge them." She shrugs. "And Cubs with mates is just a bad idea. Girlfriends might be acceptable at Cliath if you have a good handle on your rage."
"I've been on one patrol so far with Jake, and Sergei's to start taking me on more soon. Understood, I'll bring up the helio issue with Jake for RTO. It shouldn't be difficult to set up in case that happens again, Truthcatcher-rhya." Lleu sounds confident that he knows what he's talking about and may even be a little eager to help with that kind of problem. Right up his alley. A slight nod to other points as he listens, "Makes sense not to have Cubs take mates, no argument there. I understand the issue with controlling rage."
Nope, no idea that he might be about to be attacked. Donnachaidh's seated cross legged and relaxed, not obviously on his guard. Though for anyone who has the slightest martial arts training, he could be up and on his feet in a single fluid motion that doesn't require the use of his hands.
Howls-at-High-Moon nods as she listens and she reaches out and just...punches. Full force. Right at his face. She doesn't look angry. She actually looks a little .. amused. "Well, shit." But then she rocks backwards and pushes herself nimbly up to her feet and shifts up to glabro. Not Crinos. She doesn't want to KILL him. Just hurt him. "Training begins," she says, her voice a little deeper, her body much much larger, but still.. amazingly pretty.
Alecto causually snaps out a punch and Lleu reacts as much by instinct as by training. He simply rolls backwards suddenly and as soon as his feet touch the ground he stands up. It sets them at least a body length apart or slightly more since she also moved back a step. That gives him a second or two to observe her shift into Glabo and he does the same even as he advances almost at once to counter attack her with a quick step-step then snaps out a kick for her left knee!
No anger, no great startlement even though she took him by surprise! Lleu's grey eyes are watchful as he comes right in with counter agression.
Probably more. Maybe two body lengths. Glabros have long bodies, long legs. As he snaps out with the kick, she dances back a little bit, with a grin. "Very good," she rumbles, long fingers pulling her hair back out of her face. "Show me what you've got. You have three rounds to land a punch or a kick, or otherwise draw blood, then it's my turn."
She gets a nod, nothing more. Nostrils to flare, Lleu comes at her, this time with a right jab - except that it's a feint to cover for the left that also jabs in a 1-2 boxer's combo, aimed for her solar plexis! Soon as she steps back, he's staying right with her in fast sucession. Trying to press the attack fast enough not to give her a chance to think. The drawback of course is that it gives him no chance to see how she fights and she could map and lead him, though Lleu is aware of it.
"You're good." She manages to sidestep the correct way, anticipating the feint, it would seem. He's got her moving, though, sending her backwards a step at a time. She allows this, getting the feel for how he does things.
Lleutrim might prefer to see how she does things, but he's following orders and presses the attacks, not attempting anything fancy as yet. Simple and pure in her face. Knowing she can heal from any bashing he might give her, if he can touch at her at all, Lleu suddenly jabs higher and right for Alecto's /throat/ in what could easily take a human down in a single hit if he crushed their larnix.
Oh! He strikes at her throat. She jerks her head back JUST enough for that not to really REALLY hurt and she blinks. "Oh, oh very nice. Very sneaky. I like it." She holds up a hand and rubs lightly at her throat. "Very good. Now my turn. Are you ready?"
Sure he's ready. No sooner than his right jabbed for her throat than while she's /talking/ Lleu blatantly pushes in and jabs for Alecto's nose! Not a heel strike with upwards motion because if he struck her that way, the breaking bones of her nasal passages could instantly kill her if she was a human. This isn't that kind of fight - this is more a POP to see if he can break her nose in the old fashioned, friendly brawl format used between Marines for brotherly bonding. Or bar fights. Lleu bares his teeth and that's his answer for whether he's ready or not.
Howls-at-High-Moon backs up, pointing a finger at Lleutrim as she scrambles backwards. She doesn't even TRY to dodge the hit. She's just already moving. Rather than attacking --- oh shit that hurts. Like that hurts a LOT, pain searing through every muscle, every bone in his body, pulling and tugging at things that SHOULD NOT BE PULLED AND TUGGED AT
Pain suddenly blooms /all/ over his body, inside and out. It is intense and it's a surprise! It makes his silvery grey eyes flash with sudden realization of what she's done, and anger, which Lleu clamps right down on hard! A sharply intaken breath and a gritting of his teeth, and he still presses the attack though he has to fight through the pain that threatens to cripple his movement. A twisted sort of sound escapes his throat, not quite a snarl, his joints attempting to betray him! It's obviously hurting him but Lleu's not giving into it.
"I said it wouldn't be fair. Garou don't fight fair." And she doesn't give him the option to surrender, just stands there for a moment as he flails and then attacks with a vicious kick toward the groin. She IS a fury, afterall.
He /should/ have expected that sort of move. Alecto is a Black Fury! She makes contact but mostly hits his inner thigh maybe more than dead on his groin because it doesn't have nearly the reaction she was hoping for! A slight grunt, the barest hesitation as more pain is piled on top of the pain he's already experiencing. Not enough to drop him or make him clench up. In fact, if anything it makes his resolve stronger. Donnachaidh pushes through the pain to focus and snaps a kick right out for her own groin in retalliation because by God or Gaia, he knows it'll hurt a woman just about as much as a man to get hit in the privates - share and share a like!
Well, fuck. That HURT. Rage fills the woman as she's... cunt punted... that's the proper term. She bellows out with pain and then.. she steps back, her hand rather unladylike cupping her junk. She manages a smirk as she reaches up and just.. boop. Right on the nose.
It's as if with her gesture, Truthcatcher somehow simply cuts Lleu's legs out from under him! His legs buckle and the next instant? He's got his face smacking the ground, kissing dirt. The impact at his increased weight leaves him stunned for about a second before his brain can re-establish connection with his limbs. Donnachaidh then throws himself to roll away from her and regain his feet, bits of dead leaves and dirt sticking to his clothes and skin, ignored. His eyes blaze at her tricks, yet he bares his teeth even through the pain in what can only be a feral /smile/. Just maybe he /likes/ learning what the hell he might come up against in a /real/ fight with another garou.
Just as he comes up, she launches an attack. It FEELS different. She punches at the air and there's SOMETHING else... hard to know really WHAT is going on since it's happening so fast. It seems she has every intention of just.. kicking his ass, and she's falling a little short. Her hand skims the air just to the side of his face
There Alecto does it /again/ - whatever it is with the whole striking the air thing at him. But /this/ time it is as if the air becomes solid and kicks him a solid blow right to the chest! He's already consumed with an unnature pain that clouds his mind and makes it difficult to stay focused, teeth gritted as he sweats and tries to stay on his feet and attack or dodge her for as long as he can hold out. And sometimes, even get a strike in - to her surprise as well as his own! Unlike his fight against Dragomir, at least he got in one really solid hit on her before this ends.
And end it suddenly does! He's hit and Lleu is struck hard enough that it throws even his 400 lbs back to hit the ground with an audible THUMP! It knocks the air and the sense right out of him, leaving him spread eagled and out cold. At least for the moment. He probably doesn't even know what hit him.
"DOWN!" she commands with a roar as she strikes the air and just barely knicks his jaw. But down he goes and she stands over him, panting and rubbing lightly at her crotch. That fucking HURT. She draws back for a kick while he's down, but pulls it in and she just waits, panting, breathing hard. She shifts up to crinos and lofts the floppy homid over her shoulder and carries him up to one of the hammocks and lays him in it. When he comes to, there will be a note, a glass of water, and a large tray of meat: Took teh cubs hunting. Good work. More latter.
The handwriting is AWFUL and the misspellings are.. well.. she's a lupus. But she can write, at least. And Ghost will be there, probably smirking, to take him back home.
