Hushed Blaze leads a group of three Cliaths out on a routine Patrol

There are the usual sounds of the forest. Then there are the faint signs of movement. Slinking through the woodlands, a silvery form might be glimpsed now and again. True to form, there is little sound to accompany it. The movement spikes with the breeze then a lupine face appears within a patch of fern to scent at the air. Bright blue eyes look out from a palate of silver until finally, there is.. speech? <<Greetings. Still another new smell in the woods. It makes me wonder how many of us there are here.>> The muzzle turns to look around the area for more bodies.. but then looks back to Sasha. <<Not that I am complaining.>>

The arrival of the lupus formed Garou with the silvery fur has Sasha tensing slightly before the words have his head dipping and raising as he growls back in Lupus. The man's tone edged with that close proximity to the full moon, >>Morning, And there are enough from what I have seen. Though many are packed already.. You.. smell not like those I have met, Close.. but you are not him. So perhaps introductions are in order.<< The large Russian watchful of the wolf for the moment.

Hushed Blaze pads up to the two new Cliaths. She's met them both before, although on different occasions. <<Greetings. Are you both here for Patrol duty today?>> she says in lupine. <<My alpha, Eye-of-the-Storm, has let me take charge of showing some of your newbies around on patrol today.>> She sits back looking at the two of them on her hind quarters, her red fur moving slightly in the breeze.

The silvery wolf steps out of the fern and sits to take a moment regarding the fellow. <<Probably not him. Now, I might be His great grandchild or some such. But then I doubt you'd have met Him.>> His head cocks to one side then snorts, perhaps a sneeze? <>

When Hushed arrives Sasha glances her way dipping his head respectfully to the female Garou in her lupus form. >>I am on patrol the next..4 days after this so yes. I am here for patrol, Though standing guard this close to the moon..is making me anxious.<< The Ahroun offering honestly before he turns his focus back to the silvery wolf nodding. >>I am Howls with the Blood Rain, or among men I am Sasha Lazervich. Cliath by deed and rank of the Shadow Lords, Born of two legs beneath the warriors moon. You should join us on patrol.<<

Gavan looks back towards the new arrival. Her wolfen voice and form are different but her scent is the same. It takes him a half second for recognition to alight in his eyes. <<Ahh, Hushed Blaze. Good day to you.>> He looks left then right. <<No one spoke to me of patrols but if the Sept has need, I will serve.>>

<<We must remain vigilant, and it is every Garou's duty to help keep a watchful eye. Both on the ground and in the air. We recently had a drone threat, not just the Wyrm or Weaver coming out from the Umbra. Let alone, the Wyrm getting Wolfsbane mutated plants introduced to our ecosystem here. That is the importance of patrols.>> Hushed Blaze speaks on some recent events. <<When you are done chit chatting, if you wish to join me, we will take our path around the bawn.>>

The words from Gavan have Sasha's brow furrowing slightly before his features relax as he tells the Silver Fang >>One must do their duty for the Sept, That often includes patrols. How else do we expect to keep the bawn and the Caern safe from outside threats?<< The Russian giving a small shrug before he adds >>Most do patrols if I am not mistaken, Even know of a kin who does them, am sure there are more.<< Moments later he looks over to Hushed Blaze, >>I am always ready to do my duty Blaze, Now let us see what patrol holds for us today yes?<<

Gavan rises to four legs and chuffs, <<Lead the way, Hushed Blaze, and I shall follow.>> He pads over towards the red wolf and wags his tail to signify his readiness to begin. <<Again, no one has spoken to me of the wolfsbane. I will keep an eye out for it as I wander the bounds.>>

Hushed Blaze stands up on her four paws, shakes out her fur a bit. She walks forward then, assuming the two Cliaths to then flank her. <<Good. Now, let's see what is about. Follow my lead, I know the trails well.>> She waits for the two to be ready before she begins to trot off. <<Remember - if you see or sniff anything you do not understand, or have seen before, let me know. I'm happy to stop as often as needed so you two get a better feel for the bawn.>>

As Sasha moves he heads for Hushed's right side, The man actually moving a pace or two in front of the woman for some reason as he glances towards her in her lupus form >>I have taken a few wanders about the area since coming here, But will if I see something new or that doesn't make sense Blaze.<< The Russian moments later looking over to Gavan briefly >>You find a pack yet?<< That focus of his turning out to look to the path ahead once more after the question is asked.

<> Gavan seems to be continually pausing to sniff at new things, easily jogging to catch back up to the pair. <<Plants, some animals, but yes.. coming to know the area will be important for me to know what is amiss.>> After returning from sniffing over a small hole in the ground, he answers Sasha, <>

Hushed Blaze idly adds to the conversation, <<Being in a pack is a serious matter - but it is important on your path in the Sept. It can be incredibly rewarding to be so close with others that you are internally linked by your totem. Defending the weak, and fighting threats as a group is the most rewarding when you are a unified force. If you two are looking to pack, take it seriously, and you will be rewarded.>> She knows /things/ being Beta of her own pack.

The question from Gavan has Sasha nodding once the lupus born catches back up, >>I am forming one yes, There is one other being looked at to join. a Philodox. But perhaps after this patrol, you too might be one looked into for such. Our goal is one of duty and constantly striving to better ourselves and the nation. Fighting threats both here and abroad when there is the call to arms.<< The Russian explaining before he nods looking to Blaze >>Yes, So I have been told. We are not solitary creatures after all, we are creatures of the pack.<<

<<You speak to one born of four legs, Hushed Blaze>> Gavan offers somewhat obviously. <<To wander alone is to invite hunger.. death.. It is unnatural for me. That I have gone this long without Garou at my side.. is unsettling.>> He pauses to bury his nose into a bush and scare a bird. He watches it fly off with a bit of a grin on his face. <<But I will not join just anyone. It must be a good match for me as well as the others.>>

Hushed Blaze makes a noise that sounds a bit like a laugh. <<Funny bird.>> She continues to pad along before coming to a stop. She hears something. Is someone approaching them? <<Yes, a good match is important. My pack is made up of all auspices, both Homid and lupus born. We make a good team. Hold on a moment.>> She listens and then looks back to Sasha. <<We are patrolling, you should be like us for this.>> She is the alpha for this time, and is the ranking member here. <<When you lead your own patrol, you can decide to stay pretty. Today - we are of four legs.>>

>>I can understand and respect that, One must know they can get along with their pack mates and trust them to stand and fight beside them against many threats. Like I said, if the patrol goes well perhaps we can look into it some.<< The large Shadow Lord giving a shrug before his focus turns towards Hushed, A subtle nod is given as he begins to shift down into his lupus form taking the shape of the larger black wolf looking like some form of hulking Rottweiler mixed with wolf. >>As you wish Blaze, Just figured be easier if we might run into some stray hikers so can redirect them<<

Astraea had gotten the text to meet him out here....give it a test run. So since she wasn't informed to do so another way....she was appearing like he was when he first met her but with something that looks like a dagger that is hung around her neck. Patrolling? Sure. Could be fun....and she needed a break from setting up her Gallery. So there she was with bow in hand...looking for Sasha.

Hushed Blaze nods her furry head to Sasha. <<Fair point, Howls-with-the-Blood-Rain. We do it my way this time.>> She focuses her eyes on where she heard the sound coming from and then sits back on her haunches. <<Ah..we have another joining us?>> A howl comes out, calling Gavan back to the Caern for something, and he takes off.

Howls with Blood Rain's head dips and raises in acknowledgement and agreement to the words from Hushed, His form tensing slightly before the scent causes him to relax. In lupus he offers up to the new arrival as Gavan slips off to head back for the Caern >>Go four leg, Blaze is running the patrol today. And good to see you made it.<< A few moments later he turns his focus to Blaze, >>The Philodox I mentioned..<<

Raising her brow as she hears him she sighs softly with a chuckle. >>Certainly....<< Dropping her bow and her quiver she rolls her shoulders as she slowly starts to shift, carefully shedding her gear as she does. With a huff, she plops down to sit as she shakes her fur a bit. Looking to Blaze, Astraea bows her head. >>Luna's Arrow....Cliath Philodox of the Black Furies. A pleasure to meet you....<<

Hushed Blaze lowers her furry head, with respect to the female Cliath. <<Excellent to have you join us. I am Hushed Blaze, on two legs known as Brooke Farman, Adren, Galliard Glass Walker of Homid birth, Beta of Terminal Velocity, Children of Merlin, married to Michael Farman of Glass Walker Kinfolk. We are getting to know the bawn on patrol today, giving you both a chance to get to sniff around, and get to know each other in action. Hopefully it will be quiet today, but you never know.>>

When Astraea shifts and offers her introduction to Hushed the shadow lord falls silent watching the two briefly before moving to continue on with Hushed as he nods forward motioning for Luna's Arrow to join them. >>Quiet is good, but wouldn't mind something to get rid of the energy with the moon so close. And to see just how me and Luna work together.<<

Smiling she nods as she looks to Blaze still. >>Astraea Laskaris is how I'm known day to day....and thanks for letting me tag along.<< At that she looks to Sasha and nods. >>Thanks for inviting me. And...we'll see indeed. I'm here for quiet but....otherwise I'll go to the gym to burn this energy off.<< Astraea looks around then as she exhales.

Hushed Blaze grins with her wolfy teeth showing, <<We all look for quiet. It comes, it goes. Come, let's see what we find today.>> She stands back up on 4 paws and pads along the trail, as the Cliaths can follow so they can speak to each other..

The words from Hushed have Howls giving a dip and lift of his large head, >>Yes, let us see what our path gives to us to handle and to be tested by<< The shadow lord padding off in Blaze's wake before he looks over to Luna's arrow, >>of course, it is good we know if we work well together. If we do not then a pack together will end in failure, And I do not like to fail.<<

>>What is this failure that you speak off....<< What that a smirk? Couldn't be. Arrow stood up on all fours and moved to follow after, but her attention Howls then. >>Very true. Figured that's at least test one before we even continue this conversation....<<

Hushed Blaze stops as they get down the trail. She sniffs. Her ears perk up. <<Could be something...could be nothing. Let's go carefully, and check it out.>> She takes each step slowly. Up ahead there is movement. It is small, but obviously something moving. Howls with Blood Rain's head tilts as he looks over towards Arrow, A soft rolling growl sounding much like a chuckle leaving the Shadow Lord as he gives a nod to her before heading off down the trail after Hushed >>This is a good point, and yes. Part of it. The other you said you needed training, this shows where you are in using claws<< The wolf's shoulders rolling before he goes quiet hearing the words from Blaze, A small nod given as he begins to slowly spread out just a few yards to her right. A sudden breeze sweeps through the forest, rustling trees and bushes and sending old leaves floating to the ground.

>>Well...should be fun....<< But she goes quest then.....Luna freezing in her tracks for a moment before slowly continuing.

As they look and listen, voices can be heard up ahead. The first says, "I know I checked the map twice. I swear there was a trail here." The second responds, annoyed, "Yeah, I bet it was a food stain." The sounds of trash being dropped is slight.

Hushed Blaze silently sighs...hikers. She looks back to Howls-with-Blood-Rain and Luna's Arrow, silently communicating with them to keep their wits about them.

Just then, if you are watching, a small little spider like metallic thing is creeping up behind the trail of the hikers. She gets serious, and very very quietly growls in lupine, <<The Wyrm is after the humans. They are in the wrong place the wrong time.>>

Arrow gets low as she somewhat frowns then as she low. >>Lovely....<< With that she looks to Howls and then Hushed before looking back to the spider. >>Game plan?<<

The large black wolf crouches down when he spots the small spider like creature creeping along towards the hikers. The Shadow lord growling out in a low tone >>Yes, they are. We need to separate them from the danger and kill the Wyrm<< Howls glancing over towards the other two Garou as he begins to stalk towards the spidery creature.

Hushed Blaze hmms. <<This is your chance to shine, show me what you got. I agree with you, Howls. What do you two want to do?>> This is not a test, and yet it is. Good luck kids.

>>Howls....if you want me to, I can scare off the hikers....then circle back around....<< Arrow waits....before she just takes off.

With the hikers down wind and the metallic creature of the Wyrm crawling after them the trio of Garou in lupus stalk after the creature forming their plan as things are discussed in lupus. The Shadow Lord Ahroun telling Blaze in Lupus >>Okay.<< Moments later he is looking to Arrow giving a nod as he tells her in Lupus >>Put distance between the hikers and it, Chase them off if need be. I will cover you, once they are clear round back and flank.<<

The hikers have stopped, and are staring at the map. The first, "I say we turn around and go that way." The second, "Shouldn't we look for moss on a tree? Wait - GPS? On the phone?"

The Wyrmy little spiderlike metal creature continues up behind them. It gets closer, but stops to check out the trash they had dropped...granola bar wrappers...empty water bottle. Ugh..litter! Great for the Wyrm though.

Hushed Blaze reminds them, <<We protect the humans, we protect the veil...we destroy the Wyrm. Hopefully whatever got Gavan called away will allow him back in time to help out.>>

Speak of the Silver Fang and he doth appear. <> Where did the ragabash appear from? Well, he's sneaky like that. They're supposed to be. He sniffs at the air, wrinkling his nose. <<Wyrm?>> There's a curl of his lip as he says the word. The guard hairs on his shoulder and neck bristle. <>

>>On it....I'll come from the side and be all...well...yeah.<< With that Arrow moves off around and to the side to stay out of sight of the spider but in way that if the hikers freak out....they run AWAY from the spider.

So there was this black wolf in a moment that shows up near the hikers, not growling per se but a soft yip as she looks to them. Her dark brown eyes staring at them as she kept her distance but made her presence known to them.

The reminder from Hushed has Howls giving a nod, >>I know. And yes..hope..<< The words trailing off as Gavin pads up to rejoin the group. The words from the lupus born have the shadow lord nodding as he growls out in lupus >>Take the left, Attack after I do to keep it pinned. Arrow will return once the hikers are off<< The Ahroun looking off after Arrow as he continues that stalking approach to close the distance between him and the spider waiting for hikers to be handled before striking.

The wolves remain unheard as they stalk upon this threat and make their plans. Hushed Blaze will remain back for now, letting the Cliaths try to work together on this minor threat. It is a good test. <<Howls - direct Luna when to go distract the hikers. I want to see how you lead. Starlight, follow Howls to destroy that creature. I'll be ready to step in if needed.>>

And with that she's moving in as Howls tells her to move in, licking her lips as she moves toward the hikes. She's not threatening in body language but more cautious as if she's curious. As she gets closer there's a slow and low warning growl to the hikers then. Luna just needs them to run down the path and far away.

Gavan gives a nod to Howls then slinks off into the underbrush. The intermittent halo of sunlight and dark creates a haze of light which neatly conceals his presence as he moves through the underbrush. Silence. There is no sound from the slinking lupus. His tail is tucked low so as to not snag on a branch and soon the proximity of the creature rankles his nose with its stench. There, he crouches and waits for the signal to attack.

Howls gives a nod to the words from Blaze, The Ahroun moving in growling out in lupus to tell Arrow >>Now, get them away.<< Moments later he is moving in more quickly, The Shadow Lord trying to close that distance as quick as possible as he growls lower to Gavan >>Now<< The Strider moving in with clear intent to strike the spider from behind.

The hikers have stopped and hear the growl now. The first one grips on the arm of the second. "Let's run!" As they go, the second one yells, "I'm going to outrun you...I only need to outrun you!" And they take off in fear down the trail, heading back, coincidentally, the best direction out of the forest.

The command is given. A shot of quicksilver dashes out from the underbrush and, without so much as a snarl, snatches a pair of legs in a viselike grip. Starlight Eyes spreads his hind legs and digs his claws into the earth even as Falcon's power strengthens his bite to the point that ichor begins to flow beneath the crushing force of his canines.

With Starlight grasping the spider creature by two of its legs and holding it in place with the power of the falcon the large form of Howls moves in quickly closing those last few feet of distance to lunge at the spider drawing his claws across the creatures back legs before drawing back when Luna's arrow comes in allowing her a chance to attack the creature before giving into that fire within his blood and the pull of the full moon fully.

Arrow doubled back as soon as those hikers fled and took off. With that she just leaps into the air as se brandished her claws then sank them in. With a quick yank, she tore them free obviously tearing that spider as well. Those brown eyes were wide as she seemed to just be in the heat of it at the moment.

With Arrow tearing into the spider of the Wyrm made of metals and trash and with Starlight keeping it held fast the Ahroun within that patrol launches back into the creature. One clawed paw coming up to swipe and miss the creatures side opposite of where Arrow holds. The Shadow Lord Ahroun growling in anger and challenge before he is moving to sink his teeth into the back of the spider tearing into it to rip into it shaking his head back and forth until as much as allowed by the hold of the two other lupus formed Garou until the thing stops moving.

Hushed Blaze pads up from where she was watching. <<Good job you all. You've defeated this minor threat. Even something this minor deserves much praise. I will tell the story of your act to the Elders.>> She walks around checking them all out. <<And not a scratch on you either. Very good. More patrols, and more practice, and you all will stand a good chance here. I'll return with materials and do a cleansing later. For now, you all return to the kinfolk house for cleansing and I will give a report of our findings.>>

Gavan does not relinquish his grip on the dead spiderling. Not immediately anyway. He gives it a good jerk of the neck, thrashing the corpse a little. Then he drags it a few feet and thrashes it again. Only then does he spit it out and sniff it over. One has to make good and certain that it is dead. Then he lifts a leg and marks the spot, urinating on the corpse. As he turns to walk away, he digs in his rear paws and flicks dirt on it as well. He gives Hushed Blaze a smile before nodding and.. sniffing around until he finds that wrapper the hikers tossed. We can't be leaving behind detritus after all.

When it is clear the thing is dead Howls relinquishes his hold on its back. The wolf giving a quick shake of his head as if to try and rid that taste from his mouth as he paws at his muzzle briefly before giving a nod to Hushed. >>We will head there to report and wait then Blaze, The cleansing would be much appreciated given..biting it.<< The Shadow Lord glancing back watching Gavan's act of marking the dead and flicking dirt onto it giving a low growled out chuckle >>Think it won't be getting up anytime soon.<<

>>Sounds good....<< At least that could be heard as she was busy with her claws but let's go as she hears Hushed. Licking her lips she smiles then nods as she starts to move back from the spider. Looking to Gavan and Sasha she smiles before moving to follow after the two. >>I think it's down. But let me pick up my things on the way back...<<

Hushed Blaze looks to Luna's Arrow <<Go get your items, and if you can use something to be sure it is totally wiped, go for it. I will return myself later to perform a rite of cleansing on the area.>> She grins as Gavan defiles it further, and to Howls <<I've bitten into way worse, but it is worth it.>>

Speaking of picking things up... Gavan shifts into Homid form without difficulty once he has found the wrappers that the hikers had tossed then picks them up and stuffs them into a pocket. He briefly looks down at his hand and wipes it on his pants before returning to wolfen form. <>

Smiling she nods as she nods. >>It's way back where we left it but if you wish....I can leave my bow and arrows with you...<< Arrow shifts back, exhaling as she fixes her clothes. >>Ugh....darn dress....<< She was already near the tree line ass he looks around.

Howls moves along shifting up as they walk the game trail back into his larger Glabro form though it appeared to be just a big Homid Russian. "Da, We will see you over there Blaze." The man then looking to the two other Garou as they take their Homid forms telling them both, "You both did very good in the fight. Though next time, no urinating on the body. May have use for it with something if we pack together."

Starlight Eyes arches a wolfen brow at the Russian. <<First, you are not my alpha. We may have worked together in this instance but do not think I have accorded you the luxury of commanding me. Second, I would ask that you think like a wolf. We will soon be leaving the area. How, then, do you propose to find it again if not by smell? You know my scent, yes? Now you may find the corpse. It is in this way that wolves have marked their kills and territory since Gaia first dreamed us into being. If you have issue with that, then I suggest you take it up with her.>>

Hushed Blaze remains as lupus for now. <<Now now...depending on what it is - urination and marking the territory can be called for. If that was a drone, and you did that, Starlight Eyes, I would be quite unhappy with your choice. As a Glass Walker, that kind of tech needs to be studied. There is a time and a place for everything. None of you are in a place to command another, just make observations and comments. There is plenty of room for you all to learn, and time must be taken to learn to work together - whether packed or not.>>

Chuckling softly to herself, she just raises her hand as she moves into the direction of where they started. Astraea goes to pull her long hair down then as she looks back at the two men. >>So...are we heading back or? I was going to walk and come back for my car later....<<

The words from Starlight in Lupus have Sasha's brow raising as his eyes narrow upon the Lupus born, The man looking to be about to say something before the words from Blaze bring him to just nod. The man's jaw tensing as he watches the Lupus a few moments longer before turning his focus to the path ahead. Finally saying as he glances towards Hushed Blaze "Of course, But if we do pack together it is good to keep something of the kills made on that journey as offering to the spirit that will guide the pack. And not sure about you but I don't much want the scent of piss stinking up my vehicle or home while it is stored until such a time." The Russian explaining his own position before he shakes his head. A glance given towards Astraea, "I am headed to the kin house yes.."

Hushed Blaze will leave them to head out to the kinfolk house, and make her own reports. Her head shakes a bit as a form of goodbye.
