- EPISODE 1*
There is a message on the Glass Walker network, a Kin Magi geneticist with a lab closer to Prospect than Los Angeles hasn't been answering his phone and his defenses keep spirit messengers out. So someone's needed to go check on them in person. A street address is given, in Oceanside , and a name Doctor Keith Tisdale.
Journey has Jake and is heading to the Terminal Velocity Pack lands, walking up to the edge, "Yeah here we are." He changes and gives a howl <<Shaderunner seeking Terminal Velocity.>>
Shaderunner shifts and flows down into the form of a Jackal.
Jake changes into a big black wolf as well and nods to his alpha. He looks around waiting for the reply howl. Shouldn't be long. Black Wolf transforms into a wolf.
The message has been received by Brooke, as she keeps a computer always up and running in her office. "Huh. This is going to need attention." She sends a signal over the pack link, >>Everyone, let's meet at the Pack Lands. I got a message I need to go over with you all. We have a mission.<< She gets her things together, and heads on out of her home to the Pack Lands. As she walks up there, she sees Journey and Jake already there. "Hello Shaderunner'rhya, Defiant-storm'rhya."
This area has certainly developed over the time that Terminal Velocity has taken it over - particularly.. with birds. Lots, and lots of birds. For whatever reason, they seem to be drawn here. In the trees, all around the area and they always seem to be.. watching. Soaring over head, like a Hitchcock movie or something and today is no different when the Elders approach and howl. As though expecting the company, Dragomir comes walking out of the bushes nearby and dips his head respectfully towards the two. "Greetings Shaderunner'rhya, and Defiant Storm'rhya. Welcome."
Howling-Wind is around, in wolf form, sticking near his Alpha unless sent elsewhere.
Iris WAS meditating in a precarious position atop a rock somewhere over the pack cave, and is startled out of her communion with Gaea by the howl, answering with AHH! as she falls off her rock with a flump. Over the pack link she replies, >>Yep, yep I'm on my way, and nothing happened, there's no reason to be worried about anything!<< Fortunately she's already the sort that looks like a dirty hippy that fell down a dirty slope, so she's none the worse for wear as she arrives to meet the pack and also the arriving elders.
Shaderunner turns his head to Dragomir and Brooke as they emerge and he snurfles, <<Greetings. Hoping to speak with you about the recent battle, seeking as detailed information as possible about the Wyrm Forces for studying purposes.>>
Defiant-Storm chuffs a greeting to those arriving and stays close to Shaderunner. <<Yes, and congratulations are in order for your pack. As usual, you do not disappoint. You are all a credit to the Nation.>>
ALL THE BIRDS! That Halona chases and plays with but NEVER EVER tooths. Never. No licky, no chompy, just a few howls and some good old fashioned tag. But not today. As soon as everything comes over the pack link, she settles down and takes... her.. paw... off... the birdy... and lets it go. It's all in good fun. The bird enjoys it. Really! >>Coming.<<
Brooke bows her head to them both. "Thank you. It is, as always, an honor to serve the Nation." She looks to Dragomir, "When the others get here, we can go over the message I received. We have a mission to check on a Kin Magi that seems to be MIA while alerts are coming from the spirit messengers around his home."
Dragomir turns to look off to the side, communicating to the pack link >>Meeting with Shaderunner and Defiant Storm on the edge of the territory, come meet here everyone.<< Then he turns and looks back towards the elders and nods, "Yes of course, we have Hushed Blaze approaching with information on a mission.. sounds urgent." He turns to look towards Jake and nods, "Thank you Defiant-Storm'rhya. We are stronger now than ever." He looks back to Journey and says, "The numbers there with vast.. and Mad Cow.. or Crow led them atop of a balefire breathing dragon. We faced off with four Ooralath, but there was other waves of fomori behind them and something that looked like a centaur. We can only really account for what we faced, but the other two rivers were overrun which is why we had to withdraw before we got surrounded."
Iris arrives! Homid, as usual, and dirty, as usual. "Hey guys!" she greets the elder folk, and also her pack folk, with a grin and a wave, catching the explanation of their two rivers exploits. "That was some god damned fun shit is what that was! I mean. You know. SUPER sad, not gonna lie, but.." It's really difficult to balance out the severe downer of losing a Caern - even if it was just shoved into a slumber rather than corrupted - versus the amazing fun of beating bad guys up in an epic fashion. She tries, though.
Shaderunner sits down, thump. Tail curls around his butt, ear flicking and he looks to Brooke, >>Interesting. Sounds like an unfortunate situation.<< He snarfles, and flicks an ear, <<We can go over a few questions while you prepare or go along. Mad.. Mad Crow? What was he like?>> Looking to Iris, <<Yes after you knocked him off his dragon mount.>>
Defiant-Storm continues to stand stock still as he listens, his hazel eyes lightly rimmed with an amber hue unblinking. <<Ooralath. Again. They're worse than roaches.>> He considers. <<And you shall continue to get stronger still. Keep pushing the training. I even have a few suggestions that might come in handy in the future but we'll discuss that later. Right now you have bigger fish to fry.>> He regards Iris, nodding to her, then sits as well as Shaderunner questions Dragomir.
Howling-Wind nods at Defiant-Storm >>We have a system for fighting them, gnarling through their armor and just keep piling on the same hole we opened. Next time will be even easier since I've communed with a Lune on how to armor myself.<<
Dragomir turns to look towards Brooke and nods, "Alright, we'll organize and head out that way and investigate it then. Go ahead and get what you need, and make sure everyone is ready." then he turns and looks back towards Shaderunner. "Yes Mad Crow.. evidently he was corrupted or led the Sept to being corrupted. Either way, he was the Elder Philodox who lead the assault against the Sept. We were not able to defeat him, due to a stone wall he summoned around him. He was arrogant, until we started using pack tactics to strip away his armor." he motions towards Halona and says, "I am sure he will always remember the attack from Like the Wind." Dragomir turns to look towards Jake and adds, "Defiant-Storm'rhya, you should know.. Claws for Gaia was not with us, as you wished him to be. We prepared, and he was supposed to be there with us, but during the battle he was not to be found. We could have used his strength, perhaps things would have been... different."
Brooke smiles, "Mercy's Messenger was amazing, and proved without a shadow of a doubt that she was meant to be part of Terminal Velocity." She is quite interested in the suggestion the Elders has spoken of, but turns and heads out to finish preparing whatever they will need before they will undoubtedly Moon bridge there. She has her go-bag already with her, she just wants to be sure anyone else has what they need from the pack.
Iris looks a little dubious about glass walker stuff, and asks, "What can I do to assist with the getting-ready portion of things?" She tries to look modest about the compliments, waving a hand like 'pshaw, you guys', but still. There's pride there.
Shaderunner looks down, <<Stone.. I know of this ability...>> He snorfles, and looks to Sergei, <<Good, that is a good addition for you.>> Looking back, <<We can accompany you to discuss these things. Do not let our presence prevent you from work.>>
Defiant-Storm nods to Howling-Wind. <<Nice pack tactic. I like it. Yes, the proper armor will be invaluable.>> He then regards Dragomir, his expression hardening. <<Yes, I...heard rumblings about that. I was quite disappointed to hear that and can't help but wonder if something...caused him not to be there. Hopefully he hasn't come under any of the influences that had a stranglehold on Three Rivers. If that's not the case I'm truly flummoxed regarding his absence." The last sentence is punctuated by a soft growl. His attention then turns to Hushed Blaze. "I'm sure that Terminal Velocity will be able to handle this Kin Magi problem, as well."
Howling-Wind has nothing to go get as far as making ready he just sits there and says >>I am prepared.<<
Dragomir nods towards Journey and Jake and says, "Yes please.. you are welcome to join us of course. We don't have much knowledge of the Magi, so what input you can provide us would be very useful." He turns to look towards Halona and says, "Go ahead and scout the area.." he motions to Sergei and says, "Go with her, keep her safe." Then he looks towards Iris and offers, "Check the umbra area with the Elders.. and Brooke and I will check his home."
Iris responds with, "WOO!" when it comes to umbral scouting, elders or no elders, and makes sure her Bigass Purse is strapped on tightly. Never know when you'll need tampons and nail polish. When the elder folk are ready, she's really to bloop easily into the umbra and flyyyyyyy!
The Tisdale residence is without nearby neighbors, and its after dark. It has a single above ground level. Rather plain and unassuming ranch style home from the outside.
Shaderunner explodes upward into a massive Egyptian horror. (Delirium effect +rules The Delirium)
Defiant-Storm transforms into a twelve-foot-tall furry death machine. DELIRIUM IN EFFECT. (+rules The Delirium)
Shaderunner umbral flap flaps, landing and looking at the house in the Umbra. A real House. His head tilts, and ears twitch. <<Huh. That's interesting. Not unexpected.>> He points at the house, <<Don't touch it.>>
Brooke looks around once they get there. "I am not sure what wards are put on here, but I can open locks without touching it. We need a plan for sure."
Iris was *totally* going to touch it too, and SIGHS when people with actual common sense tell her otherwise. "You just want to suck the fun out of everything..." she mutters like a petulant galactic raccoon warrior. "I don't see anything else unusual here, but um. Hang on, lemme get a gander and then we should probably go join the others."
Like the Wind doesn't lick things
Defiant-Storm's mighty black wings allow him to float down gently, next to Shaderunner but continues to hover. >>I don't see anything out of the ordinary either. I mean, there aren't any dark spirits out here. Course, they could all be inside.<<
Shaderunner watches Iris for a moment and then looks to Jake, and back, concentrating for a moment, and nodding, >>I think the polite thing IS to knock first.<<
Iris is a little hypnotized by the place's umbral brickwork and masonry. "I feel like I should have a Twilight joke right now." She says, joining her band mates, "Whatever he's got crammed into the structure is pretty, probably magical, and very weird." She nods though at Journey. "Okay yeah, manners n' shit. Let's go find the pack mate that looks most like a Jehovah's Witness knock!" BLOOP! Through the gauntlet. Probably.
Shaderunner nods, turning and shifting down and holds out a hand to Jake, pulling him across, blip, peoples.
Jake is pulled across after shifting down, and regards the house again. "It's too bad I don't have my old paramedic uniform. That used to work great at getting people to open their front door."
>>There's nothing here. Nothing. It's absolutely pristine. Nothing out of place. So completely unremarkable that it makes me itchy.<< Halona conveys. >>I'm pretty sure that I've seen this place in one of m---Antonia's magazines<<
Sergei nods and adds "The trashcan is empty and the lawn's been mowed but that might have been seen to recently by servants."
Dragomir isn't in costume, no paramedic, or pizza boy, no Jehovah Witness.. or any denomination other than Gaian. He walks up with Brooke towards the door, and takes a moment to look around and consider simple things, and peek through the window nearest before he reaches out his hand and rings the doorbell or knocks on the door. He will allow Brooke to be seen first, or shot first - depending on the reaction, because he's gentlemanly like that... and he's worn the belly guard she's wearing, so knows how sturdy it is. >>Stay alert.. too quiet. Eyes out.<< over the pack link.
While Dragomir and Brooke ring the doorbell Jake takes a keychain out of his pocket, which also happens to have a small rabbits foot on it, and rubs the metal gently while concentrating on the house.
Brooke waits there to see if there is an answer. Should something dangerous approach, she is a foot shorter than Dragomir, so fairly easy to swing around him /really quickly/ and all. She send out over the pack link >>If we get no answer soon, I will use my gift to open the lock on the door.<<
After a moment of deep concentration Jake frowns slightly and looks at Journey. "I get nothing. Nothing at all. Odd."
The house remains quiet and dark, the doorbell button lights up but no sound is heard from inside.
Dragomir motions his hand towards Brooke and then the door, "Pop it." >>Going in.<< he warns over the pack link.
Journey looks to Jake, and shrugs, "Not so much, the house is shielded, I got nothing from the other side too."
"Yeah, there's some kinda something in the bricks." But that's really the best Iris can tell, her knowledge of non-Garou mojo is highly limited. None the less, he waits nearby for a little B&E action.
Brooke puts her hand in front of the doorknob without touching it. She concentrates upon the lock and suddenly those near, like Dragomir, should be able to hear a click. She reaches out and turns the knob, and the door opens. A little tap, and the door opens up and she waits there to see what they can see, or if it changes anything the others can sense before they enter.
The door swings open noiselessly to show a living room from better homes and gardens. Like its been cleaned and professionally staged for sale.
Jake nods to Journey then watches Brooke do her thing, a look of concern drifting across his features. "Something...in the bricks? Interesting." He moves so he can get a better look at the indoors and shakes his head. He doesn't seem to know what to make of this yet.
Journey looks up, scenting the air, "Something.. the back of the house." He stares at the house, "The door opening broke some of the effect.
Dragomir motions towards Brooke, "Your show.. direct us." he motions inside, letting his Beta take the lead in the tech-weird house. They're down to their last Glass Walker, so he doesn't want to lose this one just yet, but you know.. Weaver. >>Like the Wind, Howling Wind, close the perimeter in tight.. get to the back of the house. Find a rear entrance.<<
Sergei heads off as directed, ambling casually around the back of the house since sudden movements draw attention. And he's not invisible like some people.
Iris follows the Homids, solidarity amongst the two leggers! But, like the most likely wuss of the group, she brings up the rear on the way into the house.
Brooke nods, and will walk ahead on inside. She has noted Journey's mention of the back of the house, and that the living room looks too perfect. "Let's go carefully toward the back of the house. Sweep each room. I'll keep my eyes open for anything weaver based, or tech." She takes each step carefully.
Jake simply shakes his head. "I'm not getting anything at all, which is pretty odd in itself. I usually get -something-, even if it's not specific."
Dragomir concentrates for a moment (for those paying attention with Awareness). Pulling out one of those shady Silver Fang tricks and looks around. "This is all staged.. we are deceived." He lifts his hand and points towards a hidden door to the basement. "Something obscures that door.. but through Falcon's eyes.. it is clearer."
Journey walks around and points at a framed photo. "I know this." He advances on the picture. "The attractive blonde woman." He peers at the picture. "This was sold with the frame. I saw this in Wal-Mart once." He looks at Dragomir, and nods, "Yep, this is weird." He looks to the basement door.
Sergei There is a door that even when Dragomir reveals it just looks like it's a closet, it's not locked or additionally warded. Its defense was in being impossible to find.
There is a door that even when Dragomir reveals it just looks like it's a closet, it's not locked or additionally warded. Its defense was in being impossible to find.
Brooke nods, not seeing anything that makes this seem anything /but/ staged. "Oh, door. Well, we should explore everything that we can. I guess I'll open it and see what is behind door number 2." She walks over to it.
Iris 'liberates' a couple things from the house while searching. Nothing amazing, mind you, but like a couple of pens, because she needs those, a few bath beads in a generically arranged bathroom that makes her think of a hotel, and a wire hanger from an empty little closet. "I got nuthin." she says when returning to the group, just in time to nod her agreement with Dragomir. "Oh snap, hidden doors!" This just turned into a dungeon crawl, y'all!
Jake does his share of searching around, looking at pictures, furniture, the ALL too perfect furnishings. "Is there any chance we're in a hologram or something like that? I mean, Kevin has a hologram machine."
Journey closes his eyes and sniffs, "Eh, good enough to be solid." He sniffs several times, and turns his head. "So Holograms don't seem to be a thing as I understand it
When Brooke opens the door she sees the stairs down into the basement, the lights are already on and down there it looks untidy. From the top of the stairs you see some workbenches and wooden shipping crates with odd markings.
Dragomir nods when the door is open and then motions, "Here, let me go first.. the illusions no longer work on me." He starts to walk towards the basement door now. >>Like the Wind, Howling Wind.. come inside.<< as he starts to make his way down now. "Alright.. stay on me, keep close."
Brooke takes steps back for the others to go inside. She will wait for the go ahead once Dragomir says it is clear for her to come down there. She spies whatever she can from that angle, including the crates with the odd markings. "I'll be ready to analyze whatever you find down there."
Jake simply watches Dragomir and the others start down the stairs, staying quiet for now and also keeps watch on the front door, just in -case-.
Journey keeps his eyes closed and sniffs, moving around a chair and approaching where Brooke is, sniffing, "Oh yeah that's it it's down there, smells like.. Bones. Like Bones used in magic, not necromantic-well not SEVERELY necromantic." He turns closed eyes to Dragomir, and nods.
Iris totally follows down the stairs!
There are a number of work benches with old stains on some of them. The boxes are stuffed with old newspapers and shipping materials for transport of fragile things. The labels and such are not in English. There is a reinforced heavy door with a numeric keypad leading to another room.
Brooke follows the rest of them down, and looks about. She sees the various labels and mundane looking things and heads for the door with the keypad. "I'm sure I can find a way to open this door."
Journey follows downstairs, eyes closed, footing sure and sniffing as he moves, he's kinda enjoying using his sense of smell to see. Much better than the Setite Temple. Shitty incense. He sniff sniffs, casting about, turning his head, seeking that smell.
Dragomir walks downstairs, and takes a moment to look around. >>Howling Wind, Like the Wind, come down here and get a scent for the Kin Magi. Let's start up a Questing Stone ritual and find his location." He takes a moment to look around, studying the area and trying to make sense of things. A glance at the labels, "Anyone know this language?" he looks around. Then he motions towards Iris and says, "If not.. see if you can draw in an enigma spirit to help you decipher it."
Jake stays at the top of the stairs for a long moment, still keeping his eye on the front door. For some reason that front door seems to be worrisome to him. Maybe he's been ambushed that way in the past.
Brooke is rather distracted by the ooo shiny! buttons of the keypad. She shakes out of it enough to attempt to open it using another gift. She calls upon a net-spider and numbers begin to flicker...and flicker...and flicker more and more for awhile. FINALLY, something seems to click, and literally CLICK. The keypad unlocks the door, and she reaches for the handle to pull it open.
Iris nods to Dragomir and says, "Sure thing, Boss. I'll have to pop to the other side to get a look around for one. Or I can just take ten minutes to summon one here. Either way!"
Journey pauses, turning his head, "Rot, Meat spoiled and.. like fertilizer." He turns to sniff at the door opening.
Dragomir walks over, tipping his head to the side and frowns slightly as he lowers down to look a bit more closely at something he finds. "These are.. smuggling crates." he lifts his hand to point towards the joints and the build. "There's also some organic solvent and dried bone marrow on the benches." He leans forward, looking at the work surface more closely. "These glyphs.. I think I recognize these." he studies and offers, "These are very old glyphs.. for identifying Fera. But these are not Fera we are used to.. these are extinct." He turns to look about and says, "It looks like he was smuggling in bones from extinct Fera..."
Jake looks back down the stairs and raises a brow at Dragomir's statement. "Extinct Fera?" Satisfied that no one is going to attack from the rear Jake comes down the steps, taking them two at a time. "What the hell?"
When Brooke opens the door it's to a room of shelves and a walk in freezer. There are twisted skeletons with tusks, oddly shaped skulls, distortedly long fingers....all sorts of deformities.
Journey turns to Dragomir, "Extinct.. that's Chinese.. Aww man if those are Panda bones.." He snaps to the door suddenly, "You're very hot there, be careful.
While people look about and work on solving the Mystery of Uncle Festers Fun House of Funk, Iris just tries to keep her mind right, stay off the ever increasing WHAT THE FUCK?! of it all and drum on her scarred stomach quietly while chanting in ancient Greek. Not too loudly, just rocking a bit of the ol summoning mojo to get that Enigmas spirit here to help read things.
Brooke backs off and lets the others take a look. She stays somewhat behind the door, using it as an additional belly shield, while still looking around the door.
Journey sniff sniffs, and turns to Iris, "You're summoning a spirit. inside a Spirit warded house." He pauses, "You should know this."
The door has binary all over the inside, written in a cramped and frantic hand.
Dragomir turns to look towards the door and winces slightly at the sight. "We need to determine if the Kin Magi is in there or not. Then.. I don't know where to begin with the remains. There are no ancestors to bring them too.. the spirits of these bones will not be happy that they have been desecrated in such a manner." he frowns, if they find this Kin Magi, he's going to have some splainin' to do.
Brooke turns her head around to see the inside of the door. She blinks as she sees there is binary code on it. She looks it up and down, studying it like she is so used to. Pulling out her tablet, she types in what she is seeing making sure she gets down exactly what it is. She repeats the message out to everyone. "It says here: I may not have changed, but I can serve Gaia still. There is a Sin only someone like I can cleanse. I will bring them back." She thinks about it, and turns back toward the group. "He was trying to resurrect these creatures?"
The fossils are there but so are newer corpses, complete skeletons. The Kin Magi is not.
Journey walks over to lean into a skeleton and frowns, "These.. are deformed.. this one had malformed dental material. The teeth will break off easily." He turns, "Metis."
Dragomir growls lowly at that, and lifts his hand and says, "Yeah.. he better hope he's dead." oh yeah, bringing back dead Fera from an ancient war, not a way to please him. "We need to stop him from doing this.. he has no idea what he's doing.. or what..." he doesn't even know how to say it fast enough, "The ramifications for something this stupid, are Endless! These creatures were defeated for a reason. To reintroduce them into modern society.. and.. a Magi." he clenches his fist, "How -dare- he disturb the spirits of the dead, and violate what was done by our Ancestors?!" yeah, he's mad.
Journey makes a face, "Nono this is.. bad, this is.. I mean, to try to make a ..." He sighs shaking his head, "I mean for any Mage, this is the kinda thing that will get you eaten by your own powers." He sighs, turning his face around the room, "They call it Paradox and this is the kinda thing that should not be."
Brooke takes her tablet and starts taking pictures. Once she has the pictures all taken, she starts to sort through it and see if there is anything further she can find out from them here - short of writing up some program to search the Web.
Meanwhile, outside on the patio, Iris finishes her incantation TOTALLY not inside the spirit warded house that yeah, she *totally* would have realized but the player's a nit wit. Casting out her line, she gets a nibble, reels it in, and then there's just HUGS! Or, you know, whatever kind of love you share with a spirit that's SO HAPPY TO BE HERE WITH YOU!! Once they've finished with thank you's and recognitions and such, Iris explains the situation in spirit speech. "There's a puzzle under this structure, strange symbols that I cannot decipher. They are a language to me, but a great puzzle to you, and I hope that you can help me solve this. Will you come with me, although this is an uncomfortable structure? I will protect you while you discern the strange markings that I will show you, and you can tell me what they mean."
The spirit nods enthusiastically and frolics around Iris like a great umbral puppy before following her inside. Spectral Scooby sniffs all the things and goes straight for the basement.
Iris heads on down to the basement, ever vigilant to dangers to her Scooby! She pushes her glasses in place like a dirty dreadlocked Velma, and points out the weird squiggle thingies that need translating. "I don't know what this means."
The spirit bloodhound sniffs at the crate and the rolls its eyes, expressing contempt >>Humans are so bad at hiding stuff. Like anyone would really believe these were crates full of Chinese checkers sets. Smugglers.<< Then it glances over at the door >>Why would someone bother to make the flesh without....so very interesting. I would like to know how this ends.<<
This whole situation is annoying, stinking annoying and Dragomir is ready to find this little shit-lips, even if he has to perform the Questing Stone himself to do it. He starts walking around, looking for personal effects.. clothing, anything that might be his or of some distinguishable use. "Like the Wind, Howling Wind, do you have the scent yet?"
Sergei nods at Dragomir as he looks around "I found a bloody tissue in the wastebasket. I think he cut himself while working once."
Journey lifts a hand in Sergei's direction, "Good catch." He says, thinking, "This guys cheese has slipped off his plate."
Dragomir offers firmly, "When I judge him, I'll be sure to shove it back up his ass." Yep, not a happy camper.
"...I would like some cheese." Iris muses aloud at that, and gestures for the spirit to wander with her around the basement lair to just snoop around while she asks the pack at large, "So, what exactly are the facts we've discovered here? I was out of the house for some of this. Oh my god are those bones? Ew! What the fuck!" Yeah she was missing for some of this!
Dragomir looks towards Iris and says, "Dr. Keith Tisdale, kinfolk of the Glass Walker appears to have been smuggling in fossils and bones of extinct breeds of Fera, in the hopes of righting some Sin." Man the Silver Fang had to work that get that word in context out of his mouth, clearly not a believer. "His attempts at resurrection, it would appear.. have results poorly, Metis deaths, or something of some caliber. We have information that Hushed Blaze will follow up on to track down some leads physically.." He motions towards Sergei and says, "Howling Wind found you a bloody tissue, to use for Rite of the Questing Stone.. we will assist. Most likely you'll have to overcome whatever we had to even get down here."
Journey considers, "Don't suppose we know they guys Tradition?" He looks around, "Someone mention why KIND of Magi this guy was?"
Brooke finishes up with what she is doing on the tablet, making sure she has all the information she needs from here to work on it later. "Dr. Keith Tisdale, kinfolk of the Glass Walkers, Etherite Mage, Doctorate in Genetics." she calls out to them, even toned, reiterating the information from the message she received.
Iris looks pretty horrified, I mean there's the obvious reasons, but she's a little uptight about the whole making Metis and then them dying horribly because Metis and whatever other reason. IT'S SO WRONG! What the fuck is it with mages stealing mommy rights, anyways? Seriously! "Yeah, I got um. Hang on." She says, and starts digging in her Bigass Purse for ritual components for the Questing Stone.
Journey sighs, "Aw shit." He drops his head, "Nononoonoonoo not a Victor Frankenstein. This fool been trying to bring the dead back to life by making them from the ground up." He sighs, "Crappy place for it, nowhere near enough thunderstorms."
"No, *no*, you can't *do* that!" Iris looks even more horrified! "They won't have the natural touch of Gaea or Luna, they'll lack real spirit, and will inherently be of the Wyrm!" DIG DIG DIG! She whips out her crystal on a chain and what not. To use NEXT time!
- EPISODE 2*
Dragomir considers the situation, clearly not happy as he thinks about the information. "Lets prepare the Questing Stone.. see what we can find. Otherwise, we will investigate this address and back-track from there to where this crazy idiot is." His hand lifts, and he rubs vigorously at his own face in frustration.
Iris was totally in the process of finding her rite components in her Bigass Purse, and asks while dragging out her dangly thing (ha ha), "It might be too much to hope for, but did anyone maybe find a piece of this fool around here anywhere? A hair, finger nail clipping, a scab he picked off, anything? Howling Wind, I seem to remember you saying something about a bloody tissue, am I misremembering?" she asks while her spirit buddy of the day cuddles her leg like a big ol' flappy jowled blood hound.
Sergei offers over the tissue to Iris "I'm assuming this blood was his rather than one of his experiments. Its smells human at least."
Like the Wind is just on edge. Totally on edge. She makes a little growly sound and snurfles quietly at the air, then snorts softly. Bleh.
Dragomir walks over, ready to assist with the ritual in any manner which Iris directs. He motions for the others to gather around to do the same. "Will that be sufficient or do we need to search for more Mercy's Messenger?"
"Well, if it's not, we'll probably find that out! Thanks." Iris says, and takes the tissue with a smile, dangling her dangler - a piece of rough quartz on a simple cord - over the tissue, and says while closing her eyes, "This is gonna take a minute, and it won't tell us exactly where he's at, but we'll get the direction, at least. It's possible we'll have to pit stop and do this a couple few times..." She has a deep, cleansing breath, and then works on her ritual.
Iris concentrates with the rest of the gang, working on braining their missing mage's location. After several minutes, the crystal just spins around in lazy circles, never tipping in a particular direction. Eventually Iris UGH's with frustration. "CRAP. I'm not super sure how to describe it, but I feel like there's a wall in the way. He's either got something shielding him, or he's actively working against this sort of locational scrying or.. or *something*. I can try again in a few once I've cleared the mystic cobwebs out of my head, but for now we may want to try leaning on whatever brook's found while we were doing this."
Dragomir can feel it as well, similar to what he overcame before with the illusion. "No, I do not believe we are going to be able to find him so easily.. if he is masked the same way his home was, he will be nearly impossible to find through these methods. We are going to have to hunt him down as wolves." He motions to rise back up, looking around and offers, "We have an address.. lets pack up what we need here, transport it back and head to the address." (Perhaps Jake ensures the stuff gets properly and safely transported somewhere?)
>>May I try, Iris?<< Windy asks with a little head tilt and little nudge at the woman's spinny dangy thing.
"If I could dedicate a few *hours* to locating him like this, it could work," Iris says with an apologetic tone to her alpha. Failing as a Theurge sucks, even when it's not really her fault! "Yeah, of course," she says to Windy, and offers the crystal on a cord and the bloody tissue to her, "I hope you have better luck than I did! Otherwise, sniffing it is." she agrees with Dragomir's plan to nose this one."
Brooke looks up from tapping away at her laptop. "Well, what I have found is that our Doctor here received seven shipments here to his house. A single crate each time and then later larger shipments of materials from other vendors - including construction materials and survival supplies. That was delivered to a shipping company with a sea plane called Aeleron Flights. The last shipment was three weeks ago, and I have their address."
Like the Wind shakes her head, nudging the dangly away and she just snurfle snurfs the tissue. She snurfles the air, snurfles the ground, snurfles this way, that way, spins around in a full circle. She makes little mlems at the air, pauses, sniffs her foot, snorts, wanders over this way, then back, then sniffs Drago's foot and sneezes. SNURF! Over toward Brooke, then back by Sergei, then around in a tight little circle. One time, two, three, dizzy. Oh shit. Plop. SNURF. >>Nope.<<
Journey watches this as it unfolds, frowning, "Yeah, see the main problem with this kind of thing is that wards are either blanket and really powerful because of it or are specificly tuned against a type of pursuit. This is a KINMagi so they know what to ward against." He nods, rising, "So, on the off chance that they missed something.." Journey closes his eyes, and turns walking out.
CRASH!
Thud!
Journey walks back in, "They didn't miss anything."
Dragomir reaches out to get the tissue, and brings it to his nose to sniff, and then hands it to Sergei as well. "Get the scent.. everyone." he looks about, and says, "We will work in unison, divorce ourselves from logic and rely on our primal instincts. This individual has the ability to shape reality.. if he is what I suspect he is, then the closer we get, the more weird this may become. Trust your instincts, work together." He motions, "Do you need anything else here Shaderunner'rhya?.. we have an address."
Journey looks around as he rubs his nose and thinks, "Freaky FrankenFera lab... Lovecraftian journal of madness scratched onto the walls no less explaining the mental breakdown... Prototype attempts to Jurassic Park the extinct lines of Gaias Chosen." He takes a breath, "Newp, we good, let's run."
Iris shifts down to lupus to get a proper scent with her sniffer, and also slurps Scooby, because of course she does. >>Personally, I vote we burn this horrible place to fine ash when we have a chance. Put these remains to proper rest and destroy any of the fell knowledge being employed here. Poor things..<< she wuffs, mostly just thinking out loud and really wanting to bite this mage in the keister.
<Terminal Velocity> Dragomir says, "Time to fly, Children of Merlin... no time to waste."
Dragomir gives the address, and takes a moment to look around. Then he turns, lowers down just slightly and a faint silhoette of Falcon's wings woosh around him and he rockets up into the air towards the direction of the address.
Journey watches the others take off with their wings, while, he looks down and, more like Superman taking off than taking to wing, he lifts off and follows. His Totem isn't a bird, it's wind after all. And he DOES follow. He's clearly playing backseat Theurge on Terminal Velocitys work here.
FLIGHT! Iris's favorite thing in the world, next to Taco Bell, her guilty Homid pleasure. Before she can unfurl her fetish wings, a different and much newer instinct takes hold and she just sort of.. *does* it. She looks behind her and.. Well shit, no wings. What? She looks under herself and spies a pair of teeny bronze hawk wings on either back ankle, ala Hermes, as the hawk flight manifests for her. >>That's new.<< she wuffs, >>I dunno how I feel about that. I'll... Figure that out later.<< Spirit things, they represent in the oddest of ways.
Sergei is Wendigo, the cutting cold, the hungry wind. He leaps into the air and lands on a slab of ice that's sled/surfboard shaped and cruises off after his Alpha.
Brooke puts her things away in her bag and straps it on around her. Once clear of the house, she slowly bends one knee lower than the other, her right hand clenched, arm on the side of the body, the left arm bent, hand clenching, and she concentrates as she lowers, until she suddenly shoots up in the air in flight with both arms at her side in a straight shot..a la Neo. https://youtu.be/NEg5YMgxGuw
Flying? Flying! Halona can do this! She hasn't like.. practiced or anything. One might expect glorious owl wings or majestic bluebird wings. Nope. Ever seen Peter Pan when they shake Tinkerbell dandruff on Nana? How her butt floats up in the air? Yeah, that happens. Booty up, head and forepaws dangling. There's a little squirm, a little shift and then.. DOGPADDLING! Wait. No. That's... no. She gets some control over things and she does a sort of.. point.. with her nose and her body and finally gets her shit in gear.
Floop. Once she gets moving, Windy gets little dragonfly wings on her back that just barely sticks out of her fur. Sho kyoot
- EPISODE 3*
When last we left our intrepid wolf folk they were flying, like you do, to a place on the coast where a shipping company named Aeleron Flights has their helipad and a dock for a sea plane. It is night time still, the investigation at Tinsdale's house didn't take that long and the address wasn't that far away. The lights on the building itself are out.
It takes her a bit of time to get her butt and face and paws all oriented right, but eventually Windy figures out this whole flight thing and even does a couple little fancy things on the way, though she's still paying attention to the task. When it comes time to do so, she swoops in toward the ground and pulls up and lands on her feet with a little woofy bounce
Journey drops down silently out of the air as the group lands, feet coming down on the ground as he looks around, frowning, and nodding, looking at the seaplane, tilting his head slightly. "Hm."
Brooke flies along with the pack and when they reach the address in question, she lands worthy of a high score.
Sergei hops off his icy slab and lands on the ground near his pack mates, the slab vanishes in a gust of wintry cool air.
Dragomir comes soaring in, and that faint silhoette of Falcon's wings arch and curl enough to slow him down before he sets down easily and silently on the ground. He motions silently for his pack to get the perimeter now.
Brooke follows the direction of her Alpha, and finds a post along the perimeter.
Sergei peels off at Dragomir's direction, melting down into his wolf shape for skulking about.
Iris follows as well after touching down neatly, little bitty ankle hawk wings vanishing when she lands. The black wolf trots quietly after her alpha, nose twitching and sniffing around at air and ground in turns.
Like the Wind does likewise, still in lupus, slipping off to one side blending as she tends to do.
Journey looks to Dragomir and Brooke, seeming willing to let them take point on the operation. He's there for ThunderWyrms or old old Vampires, that kind of thing.
>>Stay low, keep unseen.. we approach slowly from all sides and call out what you see.<< he looks towards Journey, "With me if you would, Shaderunner'rhya." and he lowers down and begins approaching slowly. Once more over the pack link, >>Mercy's Messenger, give us a peek into the Umbra.. <<
>>If there's no objection, I'll slip across and avoid potential and super probable migrains.<< Iris sends out over the pack link, >>I'll zip back here if there's trouble.<< Probably that's a lie and she'll just make it worse if there is some. And, assuming there's no immediate counter command to that, she finds a nice bush to get up into and slip across where she's out of sight.
>>Weaver lights. A thing. That takes pictures. Over the big square where the weaver bird thing sits when it isn't flying<< Halona has no idea WHAT the names of things are, but she manages to get up a mental image of a video camera in her sneaky exploration around the place.
Journey moves with Dragomir, murmering, "The seaplane dock. That lamp post, there's a camera on it covering the plane." He says quietly as they move. He nods to the direction of the plane dock.
Brooke looks about and notices things. On the pack links she sends, >>Yes, Security cameras, motion sensor lights. A half dozen or so storage units. Alpha, should I look to jam those?<<
Dragomir lowers down, pausing for a moment as he starts hearing feedback. >>Hushed Blaze, you're up. Disable the surveillance for us.<< He looks around and nods towards Journey before he offers over the link once more >>Everyone hold until Hushed Blaze gives us the all clear.<< He lifts his hand, gesturing a pause for Journey since he can't hear their link. >>How we looking on the other side Mercy's Messenger?<<
>>Mostly normal,<< Iris replies over the pack link, >>You see that storage unit over there, um.. Right side, second one down the row there? There seems to be a problem or something. The pattern spiders there are acting.. Weird. Like, it looks normal to me, but they seem to find something worth being annoyed about. I'd suspect um, I dunno maybe something illusionary or warded there like back at that dude's house, maybe? I don't *see* a problem, but they sure have their spider panties in a knot about it.<<
Brooke does her thing, and focuses her concentration, and raises a hand to focus toward the cameras and sensors. Minutes later, the cameras turn off, and sensors go off. >>That should reach the control box as well inside.<<
Howling-Wind watches from where he moved around to >>the little red lights went out, what now?<< Then at Iris' intel >>that?<<
Dragomir listens, and then gestures towards Like the Wind and Howling Wind, >>Breach the building, get us a situation inside.<< then he adds >>Mercy's Messenger, Hushed Blaze standby to support them if they need it. Shaderunner and I will check out the shed.<< and he motions to point towards the shed for Journey, and then to his eyes as he starts to move in that direction.
Journey nods, following, keeping a look out in three dimensions.
Iris interjects with a sudden reaction to Brooke's jamming activities, >>Whoa whoa whoa, uhhhh, Brooke? You're-- erm..<< At first she sounds alarmed, but that trails off into a sort of confused tone instead, >>Okay, so you're not getting swarmed, exactly, but you've been noticed doing whatever it was you just did and you're being rushed like puppies running to get loved up when you get home from work. I think they're flagging you down over at that storage unit, Missus Lady, and might want you to do it again.<<
Journey touches Dragomirs shoulder, makes a little spider running gesture and points to his eyes and then a specific storage unit. That one.
Brooke hears Iris and nods to herself. She considers getting over there toward the storage unit.
Drago nods to Journey, taking a moment of pause and listens. Then he points towards Brooke and then towards the unit. >>Go ahead, both of you.. be cautious. Shaderunner and I will hang back and support if necessary.<< Then he looks towards the building once more.
As the storage unit is approached by Brooke those that can see the Umbra see the little swarms of spider spirits stop taptaptapping at the unit and clear a space around it. If familiar with the behavior of that type of spirit you could read relief.
Journey nods, watching the work. "Going well." He murmers and looks around, keeping head on a swivel as he listens to his internal senses aware of impending danger.
Brooke approaches the storage unit and considers opening the door. >>Not sure I should touch the doors. Thinking I will use gift to do so.<<
>>Moving in..<< Iris says over the link, slinking forward towards the unit as well. Not quite as close as Brooke, but close enough that she can properly see what's going on there and get a better read on things as they play out. >>Yep, definitely non hostile little spiders. You know, they'd be super cute if they weren't so damned gross. And I hope they can't hear me thinking that, cause then I'll feel really terrible.<<
Brooke takes in that breath again, and closes her eyes. She thinks and calls upon the spirits to open the door and click, clank, clank, clank, and the door unlocks and rolls up on it's own. >>Let's see then what they wanted us to check out.<<
The door to the storage unit is compliant to the Glass Walker's wiles and it rolls up at her direction. Revealed inside is a ton of boxes of laboratory glassware, pieces of furniture, and a fifty five gallon sized steel drum that's set carefully with nothing else touching it.
Iris slinks towards the unit when she hears and sees the change on opening. >>Looking around...<< she updates from the Umbra side of things as she cautiously gets her eyes and nose all up in the Storage Unit Of Doom. >>Fortunately there doesn't seem to be a whole hell of a lot on this side, just a lot of cobwebs and a barrel. Which probably has a dead hooker in it or something. People are always putting dead folks in barrels for some reason. Is that barrel over there too or just here? Cause it seems out of place, if you ask me.<<
the barrel does in fact appear visible and solid in both layers.
Brooke walks inside and looks around the barrel, >>Yes, it is in here too. It is apart from everything else. I do not know about dead hooker, but I'd guess dead something.<<
- EPISODE 4*
When we last left off, our intrepid heroes arrived at the address for the warehouse, found storage lockers, and once Brooke opened one that the weaver spiders alerted them to, while Iris was in the Umbra, it was discovered there was not a lot inside, but there was a very curious fifty five gallon sized steel drum placed specifically with nothing else touching it. Sergei and Halona were checking other things, and Dragomir and Journey were watching (probably with popcorn) from a safe distance. And now... back to our program, already in progress...
Brooke keeps looking at the barrel, trying to decide what to do. >>I'm not entirely sure what the best course of action is with this. I want to open it. But I think perhaps using something to see inside would be good. I can use infrared vision, but I'm not sure how much that will give me. Mercy's Messenger, any idea? Or anyone else?<<
Journey stays back with Dragomir, watching, ready to move in if the tentacle monster in the barrel mistakes the Adren for Japanese Schoolgirls.
"Well... I mean there's always just kicking it over like an unthinking brute." Iris suggests over the pack link with a mental laugh. "But since SOME PEOPLE insist on not being completely reckless lunatics, I'd say maybe go through whatever different kinds of spooky tech vision you Walkers have. Infrared, go for x-ray maybe, ultraviolet probably wouldn't help but I bet x-ray would. Probably. At very least we'd know if it was full of dead hooker or just goop. Spirit goop, for that matter. Has it got any of those 'will totally explode' stickers or anything? Cause like after looking, maybe a probe through a little hole? Ooooor just kick it over!" During her ponderings, Iris is padding circles around the spiritual side of the drum, having a good look and a careful sniff. She hasn't licked it yet though, so there's that.
Dragomir stands by, watching the pack troubleshoot the problem and having total confidence in their ability to do so - cause frankly, he's technology retarded with a slippery slope towards being infindefinitely moronic on the subject.
The pattern spiders backed away from the entrance to storage unit when Brooke opened it. They back up further the closer Brooke and Iris get to the barrel, they really seem to not like it.
Journey lifts a finger to Dragomir, gesturing as he describes the movements of the Spiders, "See if Iris can ask them what's in there."
Journey is on a different Pack frequency, has to go through someone.
After carefully looking around the barrel, Brooke closes her eyes and calls upon those tech spirits again, changing her vision to infrared. Her eyes pop open and she takes a good look at the barrel. >>Um...guys. Not a dead hooker. I see three skull shaped objects at the bottom of the barrel. I cannot tell more than that. You want me to get it open too? So someone can examine and see what they are for sure?<< As she waits for further instuctions, she will pull a small screwdriver out of her go bag, and tap on the barrel, trying to see if she can hear if it is filled with liquid or anything beyond the skull shaped objects.
"Welp, I don't smell anything particularly chaotic about the area, but I dunno if that really means anything or not. Gimme a sec and I'll see if I smell corruption at all." Iris says from the umbra over the pack link. "Eeeeew!" she remarks at the info from Brooke, "Well, my first though here is Primordial Ooze From The Great Beyond, or something. Whether or not it's *actual* primordial ooze or just liquified, distilled shifter bits being used as the secret ingredient in that guy's stupid dumb fuck experiments. I mean whatever it is surely has to be some powerful gunk if there's anything in there aside from those probable skull things, and I wouldn't touch it if I was you. Either the barrel's made multi-dimensional in order to contain the mojo that's in there on all sides, or the stuff in there infused the barrel. Couldn't really say which though, and I'm just sorta guessing as it is. Kinda chicken or egg thing, from where I'm standing."
Dragomir considers that, nodding to Journey's words and makes the suggestion, >>Shaderunner says you should talk to the spiders and find out what they know Mercy's Messenger.<< then he turns to look towards Brooke and motions his hand, >>Check it for taint.. and then if it is, then we need to open it and cleanse it.. whatever it is.<<
Journey nods to Dragomir, "The Barrels in the Shadow as well, whatever it is, it's got all the realms covered. I'm sure the Shadow is necessary, whatever freaky necromantic shit this guy was into, you don't want the scent getting out. Bring all kinds of Spectre activity."
"...Oh, right, I'm totally a Theurge. Don't you tell Journey that I forgot!" Iris says. Yes, she legitimately forgot she could just *ask* the spiders some questions. Short attention span, maybe. Also the player spent all day getting sun baked in the head. While Brooke's checking on Stuff, Iris first takes a moment to check for taint before asking the spiders, ~Hey, what do you know about this barrel and what it contains? It's not right, what's not right about it?~ Meanwhile, over the pack link she sends out, "I'm picking up some basic corruption, but I don't think it's from this at all. I think it's more like.. You know, normal 'lived in' stank of the area itself as opposed to anything emanating from the barrel. I don't know how to sense for Weaver taint yet, but I wouldn't think it'd have that with the way the spiders are acting. I didn't get anything chaotic though either, it can't just not be *anything*, can it? Maybe I missed something, I should try again on that..."
- EPISODE 5*
Again, we return to the scene where our intrepid heroes are at the warehouse, over at the found storage lockers. Brooke is inside the opened one that the weaver spiders alerted them to, while Iris was in the Umbra. The curious fifty five gallon sized steel drum placed specifically with nothing else touching it - Brooke has told them it has three skull shaped objects at the bottom. Sergei and Halona were checking other things, and Dragomir and Journey were watching and giving some advice/direction from a safe distance. Iris was just remembering all how she is a Theurge (but don't tell Journey that!), and checking the barrel for taint, and with the spiders that alerted them there. And now, we continue with the saga...
Iris TOTALLY knew she was a Theurge, I swear! And the idea of asking the spiders what they know neeeeeeever slipped her mind. Newp, not even once. ~Hey. You.~ she says to the pattern spiders in their own clickidy click click language, ~What's been going on with this unit? What do you know about that barrel?~ she asks while Brooke's doing Brooke things. Over the pack link she says, >>Just a sec, asking some questions. If you don't see any traps then uh.. Probably okay to open? I mean, I dunno that it's going to explode or anything, but I definitely wouldn't touch anything in there if I was you. Probably get the cancer. Or the diabeedus.<<
The swarm of little weaver spiders shape themselves into an series of images on the wall next the open storage unit. One of the ghosts from Pac Man with a frown, a deli slicer, and they seem to try and form a third image they fall off the wall.
Brooke takes out a pair of gloves she keeps in her go bag, and her screwdriver and small hammer (she comes prepared!) and works to open up the barrel. >>Here goes nothing!<< She sets to getting it open carefully, unsure exactly what she will see or smell when this thing gets open.
Dragomir watches on, keeping an eye on everything and says over the packlink, >>We are short on time. Use your best judgement, make the decision. We live with whatever happens. We need to find this kinmagi before he does unspeakable harm.<<
>>Jesus fuck we've got video games and deli meats!<< Iris says with alarm, then pauses and says, >>Wait, wait, that's not it, hang on.<< Another pause while she gets the spider charades game in mind for a second. >>Okay wait, I think I got this. Guy get ghosts, probably our missing nut job, being referred to here as Pac Man. Step number next is 'deli slicer', which suggests they're either being shaved or cut up, I'm gonna go with the latter interpretation here. Seems about right, these spiders are dancing around and can't quite figure out how to display the next descriptive, so I'm gonna go with the idea that that's a bad sign, and the step after 'deli slicer' is pretty awful. Any how, you package deli meat in its own container in the fridge, soooo... I'm guessing that barrel contains some really fucked up ghosts and or spirits. I defer here to the Silent Strider on what exactly to do with that, but my guess would be let the poor fuckers out of the barrel and see if Elder Man can't soothe them up something fierce. I can't help with that, I'm Life Lands, not Dead Lands.<<
Iris adds on to that a >>Good luck, Brooke!<<
Journey watches, not on the Pack Link, obswerving from where he is, without comment for the timebeing.
Dragomir turns to look towards Journey, lifting a hand to point towards the barrel, "Mercy's Messenger believes either pieces of, spirits, ghosts or some combination there of are in the barrels. Hushed Blaze is opening the container so we can determine what we're dealing with." he clues him in.
Journey looks at Dragomir, then back, "Lots of things you can make from Wraithly raw materials. Not really narrowing much down there." He sighs, and looks around, then back to the others, frowning. Journey hasn't liked this for a while now, no reason to start NOW.
The barrel is fairly vulnerable in the physical world, the seal easily chipped away and the lid levered open. The first thing that gets noticed is a wave of smells. Wet fur, blooming rose bushes, some sort of reptillian scale rot, fresh chocolate chip cookies, raw sewage, and cotton candy. Then the sound of a tide coming in and the lid /flies/ off and bounces off the ceiling and the three skulls float up out of the goop. Each of them is anchoring some sort of mutilated entity that exists in both the umbra and the shadowlands. One is a giant Cobra with arms, one that might be some kind of bird of prey, and one a zombified panda bear. They are not pleased but they don't seem to be attacking.
Brooke takes a step back. "Shaderunner'rhya - I think you are up now. This is much more than I know what to do with!" She slides her tools away, and assumes a position showing she means no harm. >>Mercy's Messenger, what do you see there?<<
Iris blurts out the sort of thing you'd expect to come from a wizened Theurge that's been around the block a bit. Actually no, not at all, what she ends up replying over the pack link is a blurted out, >>Hoooooly shit!<< on seeing these um. Fellas. >>I see uh. Dead... guys. Just like, dead fera... guys.<< The following is said out loud as well as over the pack link, not super sure on her choice of languages here (spirit-speech-wise) but she wings it none the less. >>Greetings, creatures. We come in peace!<< She's acutely aware that where she's at, she's all alone, and really doesn't want to piss them off.
Journey watches this and sighs, tilting his head as he takes in the actions of the beings and shakes his head, pushing off where he's leaning and starting to WALK in that direction, beginning to speak low as he approaches, "Their outlines were human, semi-human, fractionally human, and not human at all-the horde was grotesquely heterogeneous. They were removing the stones quietly, one by one, from the centuried wall. And then, as the breach became large enough, they came out into the laboratory in single file; led by a stalking thing with a beautiful head made of wax. A sort of mad-eyed monstrosity behind the leader seized on Herbert West."
He sighs and as he approaches, he lifts a hand toward the creatures, to see if they turn hostile, as he walks closer. "Let's all be calm.."
Still he focuses, he's not stupid.
Dragomir on the other hand, shifts down into lupus and stays where he is. A growl is given over the packlink, >>Be ready. These are ancestor spirits of the Fera that he was experimenting on. We do what we can to help them move on, but they may not remain here to threaten this world.<< and he squares his shoulders and lowers down slightly, tail high and ears back. The silvery white wolf ready to engage if necessary now.
Brooke remains back, and gets behind Journey as he speaks to the creatures. She preps by adjusting her bag, and ready to shift if needed. This is no longer her strength, and it is time for the others to take the lead for now. She takes good note of all being said and what she sees.
When Journey approaches the torturered ancestors the panda and the eagle focus on him, the snake stays watching Iris. Their forms may be tattered but their will and regard are still fearsomely strong. They all say at once, in the tongue of spirits >GAROU. ONE OF YOURS DID THIS.<
Iris stays low, it's not exactly rolling over and showing her belly or anything, but far from any sort of aggressive stance.
Journey walks past Brooke, commenting, "Pull Iris back." Then to the Beastie Boys, he lifts his face, and overlaying the tones of Spirit language over English, "*Ah yes. He's gone insane, we have to find him and end him. Can you find him?*" He asks, standing quite firm in this conversation, arms crossing over his chest.
Iris totally does, maintaining umbral status, but making distance.
The physical skulls all turn to face Journey and a slight glow from within shows the same fang missing from each >WE WISH WE COULDN'T. WE CANNOT REST.<
Brooke shakes her head, this is awful. >>We cannot rest either until we find this guy and release them.<<
Iris chills umbral-side and just observes for the moment while Journey does ghost-dealings.
Journey looks at the Fleshy things, "*We must find him, and undo all of his madness. Doing so we will undo your curse. Help us as best you can.*" he's concentrating, focused on dealing with the twisted victim of the Tinsdale. "*Can you spawn a lesser to bind and lead us to him?*" He points, "*Something to lead us to the Tooth.*"
The silvery white wolf steps forward and growls lightly >>I do not sense any signs of taint. It is clear they were tortured and that has doubtlessly attracted banes or torment or pain's notice.. but they themselves are not tainted.<<
The skulls all bob up and down as the spirits nod and begin to withdraw, packing themselves into the skulls >we will point the way<
>>This is so weird.<< Iris comments over the pack link, and then asks, >>Should I come back over there?<<
Journey nods, making a little 'Come on' gesture with his hands, "Okay let's.." He stops and loooks into his satchel warily, and then nods, "Yeah, okay let's find him." He says, watching to see how small they can get. Satchels clear.
Halona has been on... guard.. duty? .. being sneaky in some fashion? Yes. THat's exactly what she's doing. As things get interesting, she wanders a little closer, content for now that nothing WEIRD is going to happen or anything
When they are done shrinking the skulls are the size of a normal beast form of their associated animal type. The panda skull us the largest, even being cleaned down to the bone. Eight inches high and wide, and ten inches long. They'd seem like mundane bones, except for the eye sockets glowing with an intensity that varies depending on where they're pointed.
Brooke watches the skulls do their things and she asks softly to Journey, "So the skulls will direct us? The intensity of the glow will point us where to go? Like getting hotter or colder when searching for something?"
Journey takes the Panda skull and aims it along the glow of the eyes, and shrugs, "Sure." Sounds good to him, "I didn't get an instruction booklet." He tests to see if the intensity of the glow is the only thing or if it changes color or starts blinking and screaming 'THAT WAY IDIOT!' or anything. He'll work out the orienteering for now.

>>Okay, well... I'm gonna come back over there.<< Iris says after she doesn't hear anything in her brain for a few minutes. And so she does! Or tries. Whatever. Maybe she ends up stuck in the gauntlet forever and ever!
Or stays stuck in the gauntlet forever and ever! With a REALLY bad headache thanks to that auto-botch!
The Gauntlet was too stirred up by whatever those Ancestor Spirits just did. Iris's connection to Merlin gets her drawn to the eagle shifter's skull and she's stuck, tangled in the gauntlet and the spirit magic of the skull.
>>...I think I just died, y'all.<< Iris notes inside everyone's head.
Silvery white wolf growls, >>Gather up.. lets head out. Everything okay inside Like the Wind and Howling Wind?<<
>>Nothing to report. Rent is paid up for a couple of months still, but there havecn't been any outgoing deliveries in a while.<< Halona reports over the link
>>Was that a pun, alpha? Are you making fun of me? Are you turning into a headist?? Expect protests with glitter covered signs after this is all over, mister!<< Iris. Stuck in a head. This is weird.
Journey blinks and watches as the Eagle skull slips into the Gauntlet, then he looks at Iris, trapped in there, and watches as the Skull takes over and starts dragging her out. He moves to Dragomir and Brooke. "So if you guys got proper readings from the right places can you do.. Math with a GPS to lock onto this guys position?" He turns the Panda skull. Glowy eyes.
Brooke nods, "Absolutely we could GPS it. Just need to get the readings." She is glad Journey is holding the skulls for sure. They are kinda of creepy while being sad all the same.
When Journey starts speaking Weaver-Alien, the silvery white wolf looks towards Brooke to answer, cause he doesn't speak WEIRDO-TECH-BABBLY. Then he says over the link >>What's going on Mercy's Messenger. Are you stuck or something?<<
>>I DON'T KNOOOOOOW!<< Iris replies, but fortunately she doesn't sound panicked. If anything, she.. might be having fun with this a little bit. Just a little. It's that whole tape stuck to a cat's paws sort of feeling. >>Oh. Wait, WAIT! I think I'm getting the hang of this thing...<< She's really not, but if she gets to be involuntarily possessing a weird ancestor skull, then said skull gets to involuntarily possess some of her stuff. Namely, the manifestation of her ability to fly. She can't really do that, no, but she does pop a pair of little wings out of its temple cavities and flails them around, succeeding in knocking herself upside down in Journey's bag. >>..Okay I lied. I'm gonna sit here for a minute till we get to.. Places.<<
>>Should two more of us take skulls and fan out and find where the glow is the brightest or is it more complicated than that?<< Halona asks
Brooke considers, "We have three skulls. We could triangulate the location that way."
Sergei nods at Brooke "Yes, As Halona suggested." He holds out a hand to Journey "I will take one."
Journey nods, "Okay, let's see. We'll need to send Packmembers to locations and have them take down the exact headings the skulls give." He nods, looking to Brooke. "Your show, really." He's not even noticing the creepy. He looks over and shrugs, "Yep. Might be best if the Pack does it for the link." He offers over the skulls. Because the creepy needs to be spread.
The silvery white wolf agrees, >>Hushed Blaze, Like the Wind, each take one.. Shaderunner has the third.. I'll remain with Shaderunner to communicate and Howling Wind stay in the middle to be fast support. Mercy's Messenger, figure out what's going on and let me know if you need help.<<
Brooke grins. Of course. "I can hand out some devices to track what your coordinates and direction is. That way I can get it into a program and triangulate the most likely area to search." Skulls, it had to be skulls.
>>I have exactly no idea what's going on! But I'm workin on it!<< Iris says cheerfully inside 90 of the brains in the area. Everyone except Journey's, and that's probably for the best. Whoever ends up with the eagle's skull has to deal with her. "OoooOOOOoooOOOOOooo!" Look, when you're stuck INSIDE a dead guy, you make the best of your situation.
When it comes down to it, after all the glowing skulls and taking of measurements, its a math problem. And both Brooke and her computer are very good at math.
Brooke gets the map program up and checks and double checks. "Umm... well, I hope you are are ready to possibly swim. Looks like this is leading us a bit off shore. Map shows nothing there, so more than likely I'm guessing a boat or ship is out there. We best get going - flying even - before we lose the location."
About then, Iris bloops out of the eagle's skull in a very not at all graceful sort of way, like liquid Theurge that then face plants on the ground. "Ow shit, my soul." Stubbing your soul is about as bad as stubbing your boob.
The silvery white wolf shifts to a larger male version of his normal self and nods, "So be it.. lets take flight then and deal with this mage quickly. I do not want to give him the chance to do anymore harm than he has already done." and the silhoette of the falcon's wings appears behind him as he suddenly lifts off and takes flight into the air.
Dragomir's the boss. Glabro is a good thing. Halona uses it and takes off
Journey nods once the math is done and everyones able to move, he lifts off and takes after the others.
Iris could just fly via Merlin, but god damn it she has a wing fetish and she ain't gonna waste it. Plus they're pretty. With a little flexing of her spirit, her white dove's wings tattoo unfurls off her back into useable appendages so's she can attempt to not hurl herself into the ground. "Way to go, friends!" she congratulates on having found where they're going to.
Brooke crouches down, and then takes straight up in the air, and leads on toward the coordinates that she has her phone tracking. >>Follow me!<< And she goes on through the air - flying with ease - hoping to land just as well.
Sergei leaps into the air and a gust of cold wind forms a slab of ice under him at the peak of his jump and he flies through the air after Brooke on it.
Like the Wind does a pretty darn good job, even though she still tends to lead a little bit with her butt. Once she's in the air, you barely notice. SHe supermans off to find the coordinates
The flight takes a little while, and from the air even from a ways off there's nothing but open ocean. No ship, or plane, or island. But before too long there's a shimmer in the air, like a mirage. Perhaps literally.
"Maybe we should get a submarine..." Iris says while flapping along, hopefully not setting anyone's PTSD off.
Brooke sees the shimmer. "This is a Kin Mage we are dealing with. Perhaps he has a shield or something else magical that is blocking us from seeing it."
Like the Wind isn't very stealthy in the air like this and she feels rather.. exposed, but still she follows on, awaiting orders from.. well, just about anyone would do at this point
Journey flies along with the others, nodding, "Pretty much, yes.." He looks about, thoughtfully for the moment. Focusing on what he's seeing and not seeing, and takes out a skull, and orients it as he flies.
Sergei nods at Journey and follows him in, since the elder looks like he knows what he's doing.
When Dragomir passes through the shimmer, the wings arc around him and slow him down so he can properly assess the situation. Keen blue-eyes scan around, with the help of Reason's Grasp like he used previously to protect him from illusions from this kinmagi's work.
"I feel like those hawk people from Flash Gordon, which I saw recently. What a masterpiece of cinema!" Iris hasn't exactly got a TON of movie viewing under her belt, so of course she'd think that. FLASH! FLAAAAAAAAAASH! She proceeds to hum the theme song both out loud as well as inside her head, giving everyone mood music. Not that she's not taking this all seriously or anything, but you cope with nervousness YOUR way, and she'll cope HER way. Much like the weird little color string that follows her around, she makes little sense even on a good day.
Through the dome and a tropical island is revealed. Both in appearance and climate. In fact the sun isn't in the position it was a moment ago. Not because of an illusion, but because the garou have passed through to somewhere else.
Those who can see the umbra would notice a distinct absence of pattern spiders and webbing. The weaver don't want none of this.
Brooke asks, >>Alpha, should we circle around, or just land on the edge? What do you want us to do?<<
Like the Wind doesn't like this. Sun belongs THERE not there. Or is the one in the dome in the right place and all the outside world is just fucked up or... boggle.
Journey looks around and sighs, "Oh good, this is gonna be interesting." He says and looks to Dragomir as the question comes.
Dragomir pauses mid-flight and takes a moment to scan around with firm gaze. He is confused, twirling around in mid-air and looking at all the others and the sun, then down towards the island once more. "Hushed Blaze, where are we?" Then he points towards the island and motions his hands out, "Spread out.. converge from multiple directions. We should expect this mage is prepared for intrusion. So no hesitations... we subdue him violently."
"...How is the Pattern Web even, like... Standing?" Iris asks. She's not the biggest fan of the Weaver or of pattern spiders in general, but god damn it there's a balance to maintain and this is... not it.
- EPISODE 6*
The garou have now found themselves inside a bubble of altered reality surrounding an island that looks like its somewhere in the south pacific. There's a volcano with an enormous metal bunker shaped like a wolf's skull in the side, with an ominous glow coming out of the gaping maw.
As the group scouts around that's the only structure of real signifigance, the docks where shipments would come in and the road through the jungle all lead to it.
Dragomir motions his hand and looks around, "Lets prepare.. we don't know what we will face in here." Then he points towards the bunker and gestures, "Looks like we should begin there." and with that, he shifts to his Crinos form.
Journey keeps looking around, nodding to himself as he looks to the others, nodding to Dragomir before changing in turn, plipping up into Crinos, checking his bracers.
Brooke takes time to attempt to recalibrate her GPS. "Looks like we are in the South Pacific, but there is no mapped Island here, let alone Volcano. Something is really REALLY WRONG here." She slips her device away, and follows her Alpha's lead and shifts to Crinos.
"Wrong, yes. But also kind of awesome." Iris pipes up, taking a second to shift as well, wings getting way bigger to stay in comparison with her increased size and weight. They were already fuckin enormous as it is. "I mean, not to sound like I support this asshole or anything, but a full on James Bond villain volcano lair complete with big huge face head thingie on the side? That's *so* cool! ...And also super evil. Just.. super evil and cool."
Sergei assumes his warform as well, surging larger in size and sniffing at the air. Then he turns and snarls at the mountian, readying himself for battle and his fur starts to shimmer softly silver. He nods at Iris >>Hopefully he will die well.<<
Halona hasn't had much to say at all. She doesn't like this. Nope. She shhhhhuuuuuuuuuuure doesn't. Not even a little bit. So she flops herself over into Crinos and just moves into her position, behind and to the left of her alpha
Eye of the Storm gestures towards Halona, Iris and Sergei, "Knock on the door.. disable any resistance." Then he motions towards Brooke and says, "Be ready to support when Howling Wind calls us in." The man's falcon wings continue to silhoette and carry him as he stares down at the bunker. "We strike in two waves." then he looks towards Howling Wind and nods, "On your go."
Hushed Blaze lets the shimmer of steel wash over her, and hears her Alpha's words. >>I will be ready to support, Alpha.<< She waits just behind, watching Howling Wind, Mercy's Messenger, and Like the Wind for when they go to knock on the door to this unusual location.
Shaderunner exhales and shimmers a bit, but stays flesh in case of healing needs. Otherwise he just sets himself, taking a moment to swivel his ears and look around and keep alert.
Iris readies her bow and knocks an arrow, holding the pair with one hand just incase punching is more applicable right off the bat. You never really know! Falling in behind Sergei with Halona, she heads forward. Its a good thing Sergei's the one in charge of this, or she would literally knock on the door.
As the group approaches the maw entrance it becomes clear that the similarity to a wolf's skull is entirely superficial. Not far in is an enormous set of metal doors with rounded protrusions at the corners. As Howling wind moves to lead the approach, seams appear in each one and they split revealing gatling guns that begin to spin and start to track the garou.
Like the Wind zigzags her way through, preparing for all kinds of shit. Slunk as low as she can, weaving and making herself a crazy little target (not so little, really) She's still weaving when she SMACKS that door with her hand and declares something that she heard on the weavserbox once. "Open sesame seeds!" Which really just comes out loud as 'ARGLEFLARGLESNARF!!"
Eye of the Storm begins to descend at the sight of the guns spinning up. Like he was part of Captain Planet's Eco-Force or something, he reaches his hand to slap his chest where the Silver Claws Charm is, and focuses his spirit to activate it. The gleam of silver comes over his claws, and the crinos garou growls lowly as he quickly starts to descend on those guns now! Before he has a chance to give his pack orders, they're already taking evasive maneuvers, going for the door, shutting down the guns.. all the things he would have called for. This makes Alpha proud.
Sergei dropped to all fours when the guns spun up, zigging and zagging to get closer to the guns. He has that pendant Felicity made but he doesn't want to rely on it too much.
Hushed Blaze watches the guns come to life, her pack mates move to dodge, and she shakes her head. Nope. Not going to happen. She focuses all her attention on these guns, as she moves just close enough to effect them. She even closes her eyes, holds up her hands to concentrate further, and within a few seconds - they just STOP. Sorry guns, not going to fire today!
Shaderunner looks up, drops and puts out a hand, and then Brooke shuts down the weaponry, and TV decends on the guns. The Elder rises, and looks around, making sure that, as they take care of the guns, something else isn't going to sneak up on them and get the drop on someone.
Iris screams just a little bit, JUST A LITTLE BIT, and it's totally not even wimpy, shut up. Guns start spinning up and her first thought is 'NOOOOO! I don't need MORE holes!' and fucking *dives* for cover, such as it is. She's enormous, but she does what she can. But then... No shots! Oh thank Gaia! Her head pops up from behind her slight cover, "Holy shit!"
And then the door opens. Windy looks proud as shit and she guards that fucking door like her life depends on it. Maybe it do.
Over the link, ~~Door's open.~~ says Windy, all smug, briefly.
Eye of the Storm has rage to burn, and does just that with those angry silver claws of his. He blurs forward and snarls - cutting into and ripping the turret mounts off their braces and smashes WeaverBad! >>Get inside, I'll deal with these.<< the proverbial order that the clock is ticking now that they 'knocked on the door'. He looks towards Hushed Blaze and motions for her to go with them now.
Sergei leaps up and grabs onto one of the high turrets and braces his feet against the wall and with a mighty snarl of effort bends the barrels signifigantly out of alignment before swing off it to acrobatically flip throgh the door to land inside.
Iris jumps up, bow and talen arrow in hand, and thuds after the pack to, and probably through the door. But not on her own. Newp newp newp, WITH the group.
Shaderunner, unmoved by the gun destruction, heads to Windy and nods as he looks in, moving on in, looking out carefully. Doo dee dooo... looking around with the rest.
Hushed Blaze follows along with the others on inside, as per her Alpha's orders. Ready to do whatever Weaverfu she needs to do, or shift to handle tech when called upon. For now - following to see what they will face next - totally nonchalent - nothing fancy.
Inside the open door is an enormous lab facility with glowing, humming, vibrating generators in the corners. The ceiling is impossibly high, and there's bizarre machinery everywhere. Life sign trackers and growth tanks, recreations of extinct fera types in a few different stages of growth. And at the far end, is an enormous monster. A cybernetically enhanced T-rex, bristling with Armor and guns. When the pack crosses the threshold it ROARS and the human man in a lab coat, almost an after thought by the thing's side, begins to laugh "NOW? You finally care now? I'm on the cusp of GREATNESS!"
<OOC> Sergei says, "http://tinyurl.com/y7gry3xt"
Like the Wind doesn't really know what a cusp is, nor exactly what to call that gigantic cyberlizard, but she doesn't like it. She makes a growly sound, but holds her position, waiting for someone to do a thing or tell her what to do
Eye of the Storm dispatches of the rest of the guns before coming through behind the rest of the pack to reach the threshold and he takes a moment to assess the situation. At the sight of the t-rex of Weaver-dom, he just pauses for a moment and snarls. >>What the fuck is that?! Ohh, this guy is so dead.<< As if the tinkering with ancestor spirits and bringing shit back from the dead wasn't enough already. He just HAD to bring a dinosaur and weaver it! This is like Furio Jr. The claws clench and unclench, >>Howling Wind, lay down the tactic.<<
Iris takes a minute to go VERY wide eyed and look around until finally seeing Labcoat McTiny over there. "What the *fuck*?!" is her very first blurted thought. "What the fuck is *wrong* with kinmagi?? I mean seriously! SERIOUSLY! WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK?!" All said in Garou, of course, but still.
Shaderunner moves in and sighs, looking to Iris, as the Garou on point react to this fuckstain, He takes his Panda Skull out and nudges Iris with it, nods at the Dance floor of Tubes of Ex-Fera, and FLINGS the fucking skull in a high arch over peoples heada, and as the attention is on that, he focuses on the Scientist, and holds out his hand as if beckoning...
Sergei follows the Elder's lead and takes the eagle skull and throws it and howls >>WEEENNNNNDDDDIIIIGGOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!<< the cavernous metal lab filling with echoes.
Hushed Blaze blinks. >>Seriously? Seriously?<< She waits to see what the orders are, and follows the flying skull to see what happens, and what Journey has in mind. Yeah, this T-Rex is going to be a toughie. Good thing the pack is all together. She sees the other skull fly, and she sends off the snake skull she still has as well.
Iris keeps her hands on her bow and arrow, fingers flexing a bit and getting antsy. She kinda really wants to shoot this asshole. "Those guys are NOT happy with you!" she blurts as the skulls are thrown.
The t-rex and the SCIENTIST(tm) watch the skulls sail towards the middle of the room and they stop, several feet from the floor, and begin to glow with a pale eldritch light. The skulls grow back to their warform shapes and the Ancestor spirits become visible, the Cobra shifter spirit giving a thumbs down gesture, The panda gurhal roars, and the eagel shifter gives a hunting cry. A necklace of teeth around Tinsdale's neck snaps and flies to the skulls. When it reaches them they explode, a blast wave shattering the growth tanks. When shards of glass and the explosive wave reaches Tinsdale a shimmering dome appears to protect him and the four generators thrum with the increased energy draw. "You've ruined everything! You Fools!" Tinsdale screams "Gorolath! Get them!" and the t-rex roars and starts to move.
Shaderunner does not react, just focuses himself, beckoning gesure toward Tinsdale
WHY HALONA?! Fiiiiiiiiiine. She makes another little growly sound and when the power of greyskull is activated and the .. aw.. a panda!... OH! A T-Rex. >>GIVE ME A FUCKING TARGET, ALPHA!<< She looks like she's READY to go, but doesn't yet, eyes shifting from one to the other.
Eye of the Storm shifts around, seeing the skulls thrown and Journey about to go all... Journey (Yeah, that's a verb now) on that Mage. For a moment he almost feels bad for the psychotic kinmagi, but nope.. Drago doesn't have a heart. He points towards the T-rex and growls, >>WISHBONE, Go!<< he orders his pack to start the tactic to take down the larger beast. It begins with knocking it over!
Hushed Blaze stretches a bit, getting herself all ready for this fight. >>Yes, ALPHA!<< It is go time - and they are trained and ready for this... well, not a t-rex but what the HELL - WHY NOT? This will make for the /best story ever/ for an upcoming Moot - let alone for Gaia.
With new orders on the go, Iris whips her arrow back into her quiver, and slings her bow while she's running forward with the pack. Good thing they practiced a bit on that big wooden dummy!
Like the wind BLINKS into her hispo form and with a little bootywiggle, prepares to pounce
Shaderunner reaches out, hand opening, palm toward the mad scientist as a light seems to pull from the man and snap into the Crinos hand that closes and he pulls his hand in, the collected light glowing in his palm.
The Hyertech shuts down.
All of his active magicaks unravel.
Tinsdales soul grows.. cold.
Control over Gorolath fades.
As Journey holds in his hand, Tinsdales Awakened Soul. Having reached out and plucked the Avatar from that meaty shell, robbing the man from accessing Reality Alteration Magick in any and all shape, as well as his inheritance as Kinfolk into access of those magics the Kin can use. The man in front of him is now, simply and fully, unawakened human for the moment.
<<Kill him, Now.>>
The Silvery White wolf races forward suddenly, and leaps viciously towards the right leg of the t-rex and the jaw opens brutally and clenches hold of the dinosaur's meaty thigh. The pack moving in total unification, trained expertly in taking down large threats with horrific force. A snarl and he yanks his head back and to the side, rending a large amount of flesh and bone from the leg of the beast. >>Take him down!<<
Merlin swoops overhead, and as soon as Journey drops the mage's defenses - there is scream from the bird of prey which swoops down from the sky above and collides right into Tinsdale's face. Wings flapping violently, as claws rake and its beak drills into the eye sockets of the mage. Merlin showing the same fearless ferocity of attacking a larger target as his pack does.
Like the wind snags the other leg, planting her feet and she gives a mighty tug. She holds on TIGHT and as the others latch on, she PULLS, though her teeth slip free before she can actually tear anything off
Iris does NOT sail straight past her target and slam into the wall! Shit yeah! Instead, she actually grabs it in her big ol hispo jaws and hangs on for dear life to the little bitty metallic three fingered arm of the terrible thunder lizard. She doesn't do any damage, but that's okay! Instead, she helps to imprison the thing's appendage and steady it for the wrath of the pack.
Hushed Blaze follows her pack and after seeing the legs and the metal arm taken, she goes for the other fleshy arm, pounces this t-rex and with a snarl she BITES in and yanks on it. With a RIIIPPPP she does some damage, which is surprising since the arms are as small as they are. >>You got this, Howling-Wind!<< She is growling with the excitement of the ultimate pack tactic - to take down a t-rex! Jurassic World 2 ain't got nothing on this now!
Howling-Wind races forward in hispo and power leaps to the side and rebounds with a second jump sling shotting around behind the T-rex and grabbing its tail in his teeth on his way by. The momentum of a couple hundred pounds of angry garou along with the vicious bite rip a signifigant portion of the tail clean off. Skidding to a halt on the landing he ripples into crinos form with his fang dagger in hand and lunges, sinking it to the hilt in Tinsdale's mad heart as the Cybernetic monster shudders and breathes its last behind him.
The whole room shudders and shakes as Tinsdale's lifeless corpse slides off Howling-Wind's blade. And there's a deafening explosion from the mountain above as the four generators in the corners of the room start to grow brighter and the room starts to heat up.
Shaderunner sees Terminal Velocity moving for the Dinosaur. Ah Youth. He looks at the Soul in his hand and turns his shoulders, lifting a hand, leveling the grown ring at Tinsdale, Ah well he can take care of... Then as the gems on the ring allign on the Scientist, Merlin! and Howling Wind! and there's the Tinsdale. Holding the glowing ball of light in his hand, he leans over it, *Swiftly on to your next life. Forget this lifetime, Gaia grant you.* Then he exhales as the glowing ball seperates into little firefly motes and drift away. He then looks at.. Holy shit that WAS fast. They almost had the thing ready for steaks on the grill.
The Elder looks around and nods, <
The Silvery White wolf has no idea what is going on, or what's happening. Though it doesn't look good.. and when Journey says it's time to go. There is no hesitation in him at all, he shifts glabro fluidly - and spins to look for Brooke. First priority is making sure she gets out safely. >>Everyone out<< he orders and goes to take flight. But he leaps, before he wings, and without wings, he face-plants. Hopefully everyone was looking in like, other directions or something - maybe?
Not gonna lie, steaks was exactly what Iris was thinking. The evacuation order given, Iris bamphs upwards into crinos once more so that she can abscond with a leg of rex! Seriously, if it doesn't disintegrate along with this reality, she *totally* wants to eat it. When else are you going to get the chance to have mother fucking dinosaur on your grill, right? The leg's huge but god damn it so is she, gripping the ankle with its knee pit up on her shoulder, she runs, totally (not really) slow motion towards the exit as the volcano explodes right on cue. "Dun nuh duh nuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuh, DUH NUH NUH!" Yes, she's growling out the James Bond theme music during their death defying escape, wings beating for some extra speed.
GRACEFUL LITTLE BUTTERFLY! Even while she snorts at Dragomir. She launches herself into the air and swoops back around, preparing to scoop up Dragomir
Howling-Wind bounds from where he was in the corner, grabbing Dragomir's other arm. Helping Halona lift him out and away as the pack takes to the air.
Shaderunner leaps up and takes to the skies once more, flying away from the Volcano base so it will detonate and create Godzilla in 30 years.
Hushed Blaze just listens to the order, and takes off in flight, looking to be sure they are all going, even the Alpha who she sees Like the Wind scoop up. >>Time to fly!<< She zooms after Shaderunner, and they are getting OUT OF FUCKING DODGE BEFORE IT EXPLODES!
Like the wind zooms too!
And the pack flies off away from the volcano base as the lab explodes and the volcano erupts and the island base disolves back into the sea.
As the camera fades to black-
Iris trails blood and gore behind her, wings getting stained red near the base while flying with her stolen meats. "LOOKIT WHAT I GOT!! HA HAAAAAA!" She's so fucking stoked about this.
ROLL CREDITS.
