I am impatient to begin. --Charlie Gordon, Flowers for Algernon History Origin What began as a gathering of the magi of Prospect at a small cottage in the woods ended in the formation of a chantry. Quietly nestled in the backyard of the Chantry's elected Keeper Of the House, Eloise, several people gathered to hear what she and Gwydion had to say about the idea of forming an 'open door' Chantry where willworkers could come and go without the strict adherence to formality, oaths of obedience and secrecy. The Chantry would operate as part safe-house and part discussion forum whereby willworkers of nearly any paradigm could come and share their knowledge of reality in a peaceful and constructive fashion. It was decided unanimously that Eloise would run as 'Keeper of the House' and she and Gwydion would be a first point of contact for new magi coming into the city. There is a known 'mail drop' at Prospect Roasters, where the chantry is housed in the basement. A letter to the 'owner' that can be an actual letter of recommendation or simply a name and phone number for those more concerned with privacy can be dropped into the 'comments' box at the front. Eloise is the only one with a key. This is known to be a safe and effective way of getting an intro to the city. Recent History It's been only a few days but... Policies      As this is an 'Open Doors' Chantry the policies about membership are quite simple but functional. As you would with anyone's house the rules are mostly forms of politeness extended to both the host and any guests present. Don't bring harm to any within the Chantry. Don't bring any outside harm to the Chantry. Leave your Drama at the door. Be fair and welcome any who seek refuge behind the door. The "Leadership" of the Chantry was given to the woman who called the magi of Prospect together to discuss its formation, Eloise. Given the title of 'Keeper of the House', she is merely a figurehead, a point of contact for new and arriving magi and, if necessary, the deciding vote on issues that come up. While guests are in the Chantry they are asked to be mindful of their Manners and respectful to all who enter. WE ARE CURRENTLY ACCEPTING Magi of both tradition and orphan affiliation as well as they accolytes. Independent hedge magi are also welcome. Consors can be of any race, so long as they uphold the beliefs of the chantry
