<<Welcome to the Gaian Fishing Contest Gallery Event!>> <OOC> This event is a self walk-through art photograph exhibit resulting from the charity contest to help raise money for the Kinfolk House. Each photograph submitted has been enlarged to the size of a painting, and are presented on fold out eisels. It is known that the judging panel members for this contest consist of members from the Ulfhednar Felagir pack. Plenty of food and drinks are available here. Photo #1: Tuna on the Beach (Jordan and Jindulu) Most Creative Fish Award, $700.
A feline with spotted golden fur sits in the sand. Eyes of gold and sienna brown peer back with wide and anxious wonder, with a slight twitch of its wide nose. Two black stripes which look like tear-tracks, stretch from the corners of its eyes to the corners of its mouth. A set of whiskers flank each side of its face. It also has a nice long, sleek and spotted tail. This cat has its head turned to look at a male Lynx. A magnificent specimen of an Eurasian lynx, larger than normal. His massive right forepaw fur is tinted a russet color. Much as cats do, the lynx looks smug as can be. In between them are multiple tuna cans cleverly set into a fish shape within the sand out on the beach. Photo #2: Chinook Salmon Fishing (Swift Wing Upon the High Wind and Bob) Largest Fish Award, $900, 2nd Place.
It might be hard to determine what this photo is about. Is it one to glorify the magnificent raven that can be seen posing in it, its head tilted upwards a bit, black beak almost shining from the way the sun hits it? Its amazing black feathers almost glimmering a blue tint? Or is the photo infact meant to highlight the largest, fattest and just most prizewinning Chinook Salmon you've ever seen? The fish looks fresh, glistening from moisture in the sunlight, seeming to almost compete with the raven for the attention of the viewer. It would put even the most professional fisher to shame! The fish is laying across the ground, propped up against a rock, which upon the large black raven is perching. To the really observant, someone might spot a pair of black, fuzzy spider legs hooking around the edge of that rock. Photo #3: Vintage Fishing (Lyric and Erin) Best Team Work Fish Award, $1000, 1rst Place.
Picture one: Lyric and Erin standing side by side with a ridiculous amount of fishing gear. They might actually be in a fishing supply store. Erin's got on a cute little retro dress and Lyric's got on a pair of overalls, rolled up to the knee, one shoulder unbuckled, no shirt underneath. Both have hats. Second picture is Erin with a straw hat and a fishing pole and she is sitting on top of a pagoda in one of those conveyer belt restaurants. Leaning over the top of the pagoda is a black caracal, so dark that it's almost just a silhouette. In the background, there is an Asian gentleman with his mouth wide open, hands smooshing his face, looking like he's yelling! (https://st.hzcdn.com/simgs/ccd1a11507ed984a_4-8356/home-design.jpg) Photo #4: The Secret Fishing Hole (Skully, Timand, and Tinlin) Most Colorful Fish Award, $500.
A big giant of a lug (Skully) does a selfie pose with his arm stretched out with the camera, as Timand holds a giant rainbow scaled fish up high. The light filtering down from the trees makes the scales all brightly colored, as if the photo-op had a special lens. The camera is tilted so the grinning too-tall Skully, and tall Timand are visible with a tinier Tinlin with auburn red hair who is more at the fish-level; is in the slightly-slanted shot. Skully is heartily laughing in the photo. In the background the secret fishing hole looks like a round burbling hole in the middle of the deeper forest. There are carved out logs for benches and plenty of wild mushrooms scattering along the outer banks with wild bluebell, and sprigged with white wildflowers growing up over the moss. Photo #5: A Fish and a Shoe (Evonna and Aurora) Most Humorous Fish Award, $250.
The picture shows two females by a log over a stream. Aurora making a peace sign, holding it up by her eye, while making the silliest little duck face, eyes squinted almost closed. She holds up a size 14 shoe that was obviously in the stream. Evonna is holding up a real sized fish on a string. They both look like they had the best time. Photo #6: Fun with Jaws (Ridley and Gogh) Most Fish Teeth Award, 3rd Place, $800.
There is a selfie photograph blown up of Ridley and Gogh sitting in the mouth of one of the mechanical sharks from Jaws with a lasso around it's head.
Heidi is standing at the doorway entrance for the private dining area and holds a clipboard. There's ribbons stuck to the eisel for some of the top winners in the contest and she drops a basket down by her feet full of fishing lures as door prizes. "Anyone want to help pass out these lures?" She grins.
There are three fishing poles resting against the wall behind her as well.
Ben had a plate of food, and was standing near the door with Heidi. He munches away, nodding to her. "I can help pass them out. One for eeach person?" He guesses, taking a sip of some beer after another bite of his burger.
Ulf is picking at some fries and drinking a Roy Rodgers while he helps Heidi as he can, which means when she asks about the lures he starts putting tiny marshmallows on the hooks and then handing them out as folks arrive. "I got it, Ben," he says to the taller man with a grin. "It feels like a job for me."
Leif is not far from Ben and Heidi, just being large and having pretty hair. And a fishing hat. When Ulf volunteers, he does NOT volunteer, instead rocking a little on his feet as he ... stays tall.
Timand is in as well already, having offered earlier to help set up things, as he also had no clue where this place was, so he had tagged along with Heidi from Stormcreek. He's been generally helpful in setting things up for her as she might need, but apparently as the time for the event to actually start he's helped himself to a bottle or three of beer.
Heidi laughs as the marshmallows go on for safety. "Perfect." She looks to Ben, and Leif, whispering over to the packmates what the secret door # will be for the poles. "Timand, help Ulf with the marshmallows?" Matteo wandered in a bit early, but stayed out of the way since people were doing work and such. He's got a drink in one hand and is leaning against a wall somewhere, listening and watching now that more people are showing up and such.
Evonna makes her way here tonight, coming in dressed the same as usual for her. "Looks like a party for fish!" She grins and greets, "Guten Abend, everyone!"
Ulf looks around the restaurant, and asks loudly, "Does anyone want a lure who doesn't already have one?" He ties one in a loop to cuff his ear, making it look like an earring, and asks Heidi more quietly, "Where do I start counting?"
Heidi hugs Evonna when she comes in. "Glad you came. Have a lure and some food and look around." She gestures, "It's a casual night so it should be comfortable for an evening out." She waves to Matteo. "Hello, I'm Heidi Vardanyan-Haakon, kin to the Fenris. I don't think we've met before?"
Heidi whispers to Ulf on the counting.
Timand gives a little nod to Heidi and drains the beer, tossing the empty into the recycling bin. "Right, whatcha need Ulf?" He says as he walks over to him. Watching him hook lures with marshmallows he gives a little nod and gets to work.
"Yeah, just like so," Ulf says to Timand as the other man starts putting mallows on hooks so they don't snag the unwary. "I don't want anyone flipping out because we gave them a trick door prize. Folks who want more than one have to wait until the judging is over." He keeps up his work, getting a dozen set with marshmallows before going back to his fries.
Evonna takes the lure after returning the hug to Heidi. "Dankeschõen for you and your pack putting this together tonight. I'm looking forward to seeing how the others faired!" As Matteo is met, she offers, "I am Evonna Kummerow, rited Blood Thorn, Fostern Forseti of the Get of Fenris." She keeps it short not knowing more about who he is yet.
Ben grins over to Ulf. "Always trying to earn brownie points with Heidi. I like her food." A wink to his packmates. Still, he'll keep nearby and munch on his burger. Everyone arriving gets a smile and a nod. "Welcome!"
Matteo gives Heidi and then Evonna a small smile, "Hey, ya, new to town. Matteo Jensen, uh, Bastet-Kin, hope that it's ok that I'm here?"
Heidi chuckles at Ulf's new earring. "Fabulous." She lifts her chin to grin more at Evonna, and gestures to her packmates. "Yeah, first public event as a new pack. It's exciting and I am proud of our new work for charity. Next event will be punching, bashing, and bloodshed I am certain." Is she joking? Who can tell. Hehe. A nod goes to Ben, "I need to order a burger too. With fries. No fish fry tonight for me."
Heidi nods to Matteo, "Of course. You are welcome." She smiles.
Ulf grins at Heidi and then holds out two lures, one toward Evonna and one toward Matteo. "Be sure to get your souvenirs," he says, dangling them from his fingers before leaning in to kiss Heidi's cheek. He turns to Ben and notes, "Earning brownie points with Heidi is highly recommended. She is the secret boss, after all."
Timand calls out to Heidi, in what may be a joking tone for him "We can have that here later if we get enough drinks in us." He goes back to finishing up the hooks, then sets them down on the table for distribution.
Evonna nods as well to Matteo. "Good to meet you. The meat here is the best." She looks to Heidi and then back, "Except for when she cooks for us." She grins and then moves to start looking at the photos displayed, seeing who won what.
Heidi leans in for the kiss to her cheek and steals french fries from Ben. "Timand, that might not be a bad idea. We promised no damage though. So it'd have to be like arm wrestling, or beer pong." She chuckles. "Matteo," she calls over to the bastet kin, "There's going to be a few opportunities to still play in the contest. If you are game, I'll let you in on what you'd need to do?" She winks at Evonna. "More chances to win money for charity. Three chances to be exact."
Ulf hands off his lures to Matteo and Evonna before moving to look at the pictures, smirking at a few. He points at one and says to Evonna, "Oh, hilarious; tuna cans. It's so much better that they are being guarded by cats, ja? This looks like one of the Internet memes."
Matteo will take one of the lures and secure it into his backpack with a smila and a "Thanks." and then he's listening to Heidi and nods, "Oh, ok, sure. I can make a donation too if you're still taking them?"
Heidi explains, "The kinfolk house is always taking donations. It's mostly for the kids." She smiles. "Ok I have three more prizes. And since you are here, I'll give you first crack at it. Pick someone in the room, and sit at a table with them. Learn 10 things about them, and then come back and tell me. If you succeed the Vardanyan Brewing Co. will donate an extra 75 dollars to the fund."
Timand moves back to snag another beer and he grabs a drink, cracking it open and draining about half of it in a few moments. Hooking marshmallows must be thirsty work. He listens to what Heidi says, then glances around the room before his eyes fall on Matteo. He wanders over to the man and gives him a nod "Hey."
Matteo looks up at Timand, "Hey, volunteering to be my question buddy? I promise I'm neither boring, or too insane." he says with a chuckle.
Heidi grins, "Ok in the spirit of things? It looks like Matteo and Timand are pairing off. Evonna? How about you tell Ulf and I ten things about yourself? Then Ulf can share stuff about Denmark in return." She waggles her eyebrows in challenge.
Timand gives an amused snort at that and says "Then yer gonna fit in well 'round here." He extends his hand to the man "Timand. Thats one fact. Ivarson's me last name. Thats two."
You whisper "Make it every four people...for the big door prize. This is a smaller turn out than expected." to Ulf.
Evonna nods, "Certainly. That can work." She asks, "So we sit at a table and do that?"
Ulf laughs a little and goes back to his fries, tilting his head when Heidi leans over to him and giving her a firm nod. He dips his fries in some fry sauce and munches them down, then looks to Evonna and arches an eyebrow. "All right... sit, have some fries, and...," he says, eyes thinning as he takes on a comical German accent, "...tell us everysing you know. Ve haf vays of extracting such information. Ve call zem... kvestions!"
Heidi picks up her hamburger and fries from the bar and picks a table for them to sit at.
Matteo sits down at an intimate table closest to the fire. Table 1.
You sit down at a square table. Table 2.

Matteo huffs in humor, "Matteo. Jensen. We should grab a table." he takes a few steps towards one and then slides into a seat, "And I thiiiink we're supposed to be less cheap with our ten things." he teases Timand. "Get your monies worth dude, you got 8 questions left, make them good." he smirks a bit, clearly enjoying the 'task' for charity with levity.
Evonna laughs and takes a seat as Ulf impersonates a muppet. "Um.. where to start.."
Heidi bites into her burger. "I'm paying attention. Honest. We're from the same home Sept, so I thought you guys could go first. And Ulf already knows me, so it's moot." She eats fries. "I'll be tallying the money for charity, in my head." Hehe.
At your table, Evonna says "I'm not sure where to start here. Hmm. Facts. umm."
Timand plops down in a chair near the fireplace with Matteo and kicks a foot up on a free one "Alright, I came from Minnesota, me da was a Modi in th' Get of Fenris, but I'm kin." He nods a bit to the other man "Yer turn."
Matteo takes out a blunt from a pocket, "I'm from near here. My parents aren't anyone special I don't think. I'm bastet-kin." he sets the blunt on the table and gives it a little twirl. "And I make magical drugs." he says with an eye waggle.
At your table, Ulf says "I can start, I suppose. So... the Sept I am from is the Sept of Mjolnir's Anvil, in the Silkeborg Forest of Denmark. It is three caerns together, all within an hour's walk of each other. The large central caern is called the Great Forge, and is where the Sept is based; it is the hub of activity and where most of the Sept live. It is built into the side of a great chasm, and deep in the bottom well is where the Heart lies. The next largest caern is called The Hammer, and is located at the top of a great hill. This is where the Godi gather; I spent a lot of time there in my childhood. The third and smallest is called Sparks, and is located on a tiny island at the forest's edge. Some Kinfolk and Garou live here; it is set up as a nature preserve for endangered species, and the caern itself is a very lovely glade."
Heidi gives Timand and Matteo a thumbs up, as things look like they are going well over at their table. She does overhear about the magical drugs and she grins wide. But then she's yanked back to their table by something Ulf says to Evonna. "I can't wait to see it in a few weeks."
Matteo talks more quietly at the table with Timand, explaining about his alchemy in a less flashy way than 'magical drug dealer', if anyone is listening in.
At your table, Evonna replies, "That is quite something. I am from the Sept of the Blood Fist, in the middle of the Black Forest of Germany. I spent most of my childhood outdoors, learning the ways of the warriot, to hunt, to fight, and what honor was. I trained the younger cubs, although really was being trained myself, working from an early age to settle disputes. Come to think of it, I think one of them was concerning some jerky made that tasted very much like some that Heidi has shared. Probably Ben's mom's receipe."
At your table, Heidi proxies in. She chuckles about the jerkey recipe. "I'd love to hear about that. Ben's mom is just the best at everything I hope to be someday. Speaking of judging, Ben said he was going to fill you in on something soon that's brewing back home. Or near home. Make sure you check in with him later."
At your table, Ulf says "It's jerky worth fighting over, certainly. Good practice for a Forseti, I suppose." Timand is talking to Matteo and for a moment he gestures towards Heidi with his beer bottle before finishing it off and setting the empty on the table.
At your table, Evonna grins, "Seems one cub had some in his lunch. Another cub had some the week before. They both wanted it, and one would not share, and one would not stop asking. It was a good exercise in compromise, as this same argument happened the week before, but turned around with the other one having some cookies, and the other wanting some. They finally learned that if they work together and share, they could both win and have their own tasty treats. Later, they ended up packing together, as Alpha and Beta."
Heidi smiles over at Timand when she sees him gesturing toward their table. A nod goes over as she keeps eating the rest of her burger and fries drenched in ketchup. She smiles at Evonna, "All your hard work panned out like a ripple effect. You must be proud that they packed later on and understood the lesson. We are very lucky to have two forsetti at the Creek. It means we'll not be lacking ethics, or problems often."
Evonna smiles to Heidi, "We work well together too. It is very good to have another that understands and can be a sounding board to work these things out. We must always learn, situations are never the same."
Heidi agrees with Evonna, nodding. "Absolutely. It was nice to learn a few new things about you, Evonna." She smiles. "The more Stonecreek grows into a community I am certain it will soon feel more and more like home." She leans over and half hugs Ulf, with her arm going around his waist.
