The call went out from Goldie, trouble at a fight club. The request is answered quickly; then, more calls are placed. Goldie is standing on the overpass, looking down at an old rusted out large sewage gate slammed shut. Lucky for all of them or unlucky for the victims, there is no exit, long ago detached from the rest of the system. Homeless live here, drink here, exist here, it is a place for them to get away from the rain and the arrows of those that dislike the vagabond lifestyle. The sound of silence is filling the air, but that smell of blood and carnage. Recent death is pouring out from the area. The kinfolk is not to be seen, told to seek cover by the person that took the call, now the attack team is here to clean it the hell up.

Well the dark skinned man is dressed in ... tribal wear? Leather breaches and a bone skin shirt. He is NOT prepared for this, or doesn't appear to be prepared for this anyway. As they enter the building, a looooow throaty rumble escapes from the Mokole, showing his displeasure about the whole situation. They may or may not know by now that Kadar does NOT like confined spaces. The dragon covers the flank, peering around carefully just to keep eyes out for any trouble coming at them.

Was it really a challenge? Raquel is not quite as inclined to show off in the name of showing off. They're here for a job. Her bare fingers wrap around the inside edges of the outer layer of metal. Her biceps tighten, in opposite directions, and the whole damned thing is twisted like a lid on a jar of pickles and wrested free from the concrete. It screams in protest and years of tetanus inducing rust smear upon her hands, before it's tossed carelessy several feet away.

Glancing back at Kadar for a moment, Pax gives a soft 'hmmmm' in thought, then turns and unzips his duffle bag. After rummaging around for a moment, he eventually comes back out with what appears to be a large ruby, which he waves in the tribal man's direction. "Hey, swallow this. It'll make your human form a hell of a lot stronger and shit." he offers. "Just want it back once we're done."

The smell of blood, guts, death is coming out in a wave as the opening is cracked open like a cold one after work.  Red, for all the world to see dripping down for the roof, from the walls, painted like a 5-year-old went wild with the finger paints. The room is coated; it is a large chamber. It appears to be an old sewage treatment room with a high vaulted ceiling. There is nothing but the bits of bits, guts, the scene of whatever did this not in sight; there is suited man impaled on a long hook floating over a very dark pit.

It's that overpowering smell that causes Raquel's skin to itch: The parasite that lies burrowed beneath her skin craves the bounty that this place offers. She spots the suited man hanging like a side of butcher's meat, and she wonders just how much fat might be under those clothes, too. Time to focus. "Be careful... maybe it liquifies itself and hides on the walls. On the floors..." Hey, this isn't her first nano-slime monster rodeo.

Sniffing a bit as well, Kadar wrinkles his nose as he looks around. He waits for Raquel to pop the gate and the scent that hits them is obviously not something he enjoys by the face that is made. He is right behind them, studying the hanging side of man as well, but then shifts his focus on the tunnel. Without anything really to add, the Mokole remains silent. Yet as a precaution he does call on his gnosis to power the scar fetish in his shoulder, the dragon scar. It makes him feel a little better about this at least. When Pax offers him the Ruby he stares at it a moment, then peers back at Pax as if uncertain. Cautiously he puts it in his mouth and swollows the ruby.

It's over in a moment, as expected, and Pax turns his attention towards the thing in the water Kadar took care of before it really got much of a chance to threaten the group. "Ah, hadn't noticed that one." he admits, his free hand moving back inside his duffle bag. Out comes what appears to be two glass vials, which Pax uncorks as he steps over towards the dead creature and kneels down. "Unfortunately it looks like the fucking thing died, but I can study some of it anyway. Clearly it's inferior to our shit though. Alien shit usually is, always too unfocused."

This... creature... is yet another anomaly, proof that there will always be something large in the food chain. Raquel wrinkles her nose as she prepares to contact the clean-up van for this wretched mess. "An experimental drug did this. Took a person and made it into a gateway to Horizon. This is some dangerous shit, Pax." She makes her stance known, not that it was his fault whatsoever, but that of someone in his department. Maybe.

The claws are rather small, at least compared to what he is used to using, thus Kadar ended up getting fluids all over his fingers as well in the flurry of slashes. At first he lifts his hand up to sniff the blood from the thing, wrinkling his nose up in disgust before wiping both hands off on his pants. At the remark from Pax, he glances down again at it. Though when Raquel speaks, his brows arch at what she says, that some drug did this. "Could this drug find a way to the streets?" he wonders, thinking about a legion of these things in no time.

"Hmmm, yea, you're probably right." Pax admits, his sword being sheathed so he can extend a large black claw from his index finger to slice off some choice parts of the dead thing to slip them into the vial. As he does so, his eyes stay trained on the body, and a shaking of his head follows as he stands from his crouch and corks the vial again. "No, they shouldn't. This was just a pretty standard steroid, apparently. And it's not active in its system. The 'thing' was there before the drug." he explains, as he stuffs the vial back into his bag and approaches whatever was in the sludgy water to take a look at it as well.

There is a camera over the pit pointed to catch all that glory, all that action. It is covered in blood as if it is trying to blend into the rest of the room. The lens is untouched, it saw everything. It is one of those nifty wireless cameras, but the range is not very far. Someone was watching, it seems.

As you exit out of the plant, with Pax staring into the void of the camera. A car is taking off quickly, but as you dash forward towards it easily able to catch up to it. Busted down ford pick up from the age of rust and barely working. Duct tape, fishing wire, and good luck keep it moving, behind the wheel is a young kid no more than 19 if a day. White skinny, nerdy wearing a dungeons and dragons tee, with acne all over his face, his hair is curly red. With a pair of broken glasses hanging from his ear, blood is dribbling from his nose and a black eye.

It becomes a bit of a mild dissappointment, really, when Raquel finds that the engine doesn't succeed in turning over. Instead, the terrified red-head squeals in terror as she smacks her entire body into the driver-side door, causing it to dent inwards from the impact. That dissappointment turns into rage, and so the body-building mule on steroids, then squats down and palms the undercarriage. The old metal bends and creaks, and more screaming can be heard inside as the side is lifted up and the truck overturned onto the passenger-side door.

Pax mutters something like "You're a fucking idiot" under his breath as he scries across the camera. Briefly, his arms tense, his grip on the stalk of the device strengthens considerably, and rapid eye movement begins unseen beneath his eyelids. It's only a few seconds later that his eyes shoot open, and his hand withdraws from the camera stem with an inky, smoke-like substance. The vial still in his free hand, he slams it over the top of the opening, chanting in some ancient language under his breath as he does so. The cork is quickly exchanged for his hand, and his claw comes out as the rhythmic chanting continues, which is used to screechingly scratch Glyphs into the sides of the bottle.

Experimental drugs being tested outside of Magadon's Restricted Level? What could go possibly wrong? The call from Goldie comes in, and now Raquel Russell is calling in a small team of her own choosing to get this shitshow contained. "We've got a homeless test subject of a new drug. Now, we got blood weaponry trapped inside. Not sure what to expect." Raquel herself is dressed in tactical gear, in the off chance that she encounters something that will get past her own immunities. Her legs are slightly misshappen, mule's legs and hoovves covered in the very protection that keep outsiders guessing as to why.

Pax tags along, because occasionally he likes to get out of dark rooms into other dark rooms, and to see what this sort of thing does when it's released in uncontained environments! He's dressed in a full set of enhanced riot gear, minus the helmet, and has his usual duffle bag slung across his back. On one side of his belt is clipped a sheathed sword, and on the other is a sheathed knife, along with the usual holster under his left forearm holding a silvery wand of sorts. Because clearly he's not here for any sort of assault. That being said, this is a security gig, and as such, Raquel is most definitely in charge! "Sounds like it'd be fun to take back and let the scientists poke at." he muses idly in response to Raquel.

"I make people strong." Pax explains to Kadar's suspicion, but he doesn't otherwise seem all that offended by the caution. Instead he reaches down and unsheathed a rather plain-looking sword, which he holds in his left hand as he proceeds to follow Raquel into the bloody sewer tunnels as well. The smearing of the red substance causes a light rumbling from his stomach, but otherwise he simply narrows his eyes once they're further in, the orbs turning a glowing yellowish-red as his night vision cuts through the darkness.

Considering Raquel's own night-sight, she's able to spot the where the human piggy was stuck. "So many holes..." If it wasn't for the danger, she'd pout at the loss of the nutritious blood she now requires as an addition to her diet. Closer she moves, and then her head tilts down to gaze into the darkness that opens up like a maw in the floor.

Raquel is all too familiar with dropping down upon her unwary victims from the ceiling. When the red stream of death attempts to impale her rather durable and well armored form, her hips move to the side and her torso is missed in what would normally be an awkward balancing act. Especially so close to the pit underneath. Nevertheless, she makes it look ridiculously easy before fixating her own gaze upon the monster above.

As the creature jumps down, Pax is already looking in its direction. Though, he seems to know it's not coming for him, as he doesn't raise his weapon to defend himself pre-emptively. Only that usual defensive posture he usually takes with a sword. Instead, he reaches over and dabs some blood from the wall, which he smears on his forehead as he turns his attention back to the thing and focuses. "Not one of ours." he decides somewhat quickly. Clearly, he's confident Raquel and Kadar can handle it. "It's from beyond the Horizon, some 'other' type of being, an alien. I'd love to take a closer look." Especially considering he and Raquel /both/ have similar beings in their own bodies of his own creation.

The creature is found, feeling something odd in the bodies now, as it's tongue is licks along it's lips quickly with a slurping sound. As it is moving forward quickly, trying to leap and turn it's body to escape. This was bad, fear is coming off the creature in waves, fight or flight or fuck, how it's mind is wired. Well it's all downhill from here if it is going to stay away!

Beyond the Horizon. The words from Pax's lips brings a sense of revulsion to Raquel, as she remembers fleshy squid tentacles and blue blood the color of portapotty fluid. It was just as acrid as that stuff was, too. Luckily, this creature of possession is borrowing the human variety, and her platinum claws make quick work of the being attempting it's escape. Does it actually hurt the creature? Whatever the case may be, Raquel's nostrils flare as she tears the body to ribbons under the first two swipes, only to cut it's Achilles tendon on the way out. Surely enough for it to wobble and collapse on the floor and flops like an eel.

Moving to flank the 'thing' Kadar observes as it darts for the exit and he would be standing there waiting for it...but Raquel pretty much liquifies the critter. Yet, the Mokole's eyes catch movement, something he notices earlier when they entered. There is movement in the sludge or whatever is in this tunnel, so he pivots toward it and comes down with the zulo claws in rapid strikes to rip through the nasty tendrils, turning them into sushi.

"Great." Raquel mutters, not even bothering to wipe off the splatter from the front of her armor. It's going to take some serious dry cleaning. She'd comment further about infestations from far away realms of existence, but an odd shape catches her eye. She strides over to the camera, before palming the device and keeping it's line of sight hidden. With the other hand, she makes a circle with her arm and then aims it twice towards the exit to find the source of the signal. Before it gets away.

Pax hums softly in agreement with Raquel, crouching down next to the sludge and peering at the dead thing as he prepares another vial for sample taking purposes. It's as he's doing this that he also notices the camera, and nodding to Raquel's direction, he scoops up some more blood and steps over to it. The blood is smeared on the top of it with his fingers, and then he grips the back of it as he closes his eyes and searches out the source.

The Astral

As your mind drafts forward, something meets you halfway, it is a man in the shadows. With a pair of red glowing eyes, as he speaks softly, the sound of broken glass, with a hint of entertainment."Hello, I will not let you see my home. But I will meet you halfway in the world of the mind. My name is Alreansa; this is my domain; this is my fucking game." His hand is coming up; it is a pale with a tattoos up along the wrist, as he pulls back the hood. It is a tale thin man with a pair of red glowing eyes as he speaks softly."Do you let me play, or must we fight?

Reality

As you exit out of the plant, with Pax staring into the void of the camera. A car is taking off quickly, but as you dash forward towards it easily able to catch up to it. Busted down ford pick up from the age of rust and barely working. Duct tape, fishing wire, and good luck keep it moving, behind the wheel is a young kid no more than 19 if a day. With a pair of broken glasses hanging from his ear, blood is dribbling from his nose and a black eye.

Quickly, Kadar moves out of the tunnel and then searches for a possible culprit for the camera. Spotting the truck, he tilts his head a bit and observes for a few seconds as if deciding on a course of action. Of course Raquel comes out as well, thus he gives her a glance waiting to see if she goes after him. If so, he will just wait...no need to waste energy if it isn't necessary. Cold blooded and all.

After Kadar clears the sewer treatment exhaust tunnel, Raquel is following close behind. She spies the old beat up truck, and then beging to -move- . It's obvious to any mortal onlookers that Jessie Owens aint got nothing on the hybrid draft-mule in flexible riot gear. Her expression hungry, and stern, her powerful legs propel her forward as her arms swings in tandem.

The kid in the truck screams loudly, as he falls into himself the smell of urine drafting up into the air. He is one scared little hombre, next to him is a black box. That seems to glow; it is very odd to the eye. As if it is a receiver sending out something. But it looks like nothing you have seen before, or built by someone very advanced.

Waiting, watching, Kadar lets Raquel handle the kid. She doesn't need his help with that. As for the receiver? Something that advanced will be far beyond Kadar's understanding, the simple lizard that he is. So he observes, waiting until he is needed.

It's then that Raquel finally calms down enough. She lowers the automotive machine back down, until it bounces on it's tires. Luckily, the 19 year old kid inside is unconscious and sitting in his own piss. No need to intimidate him. Claws dig into the side of the metal door, peeling the casing back until the locking mechanism is exposed and Raquel manages to free the latch. Once she spies her prize, the man-child is ignored while she reaches for the pretty box.

Pax emerges a short while later, the vial still in his grip with what appears to be a swirling black cloud trapped within it, those runes /very/ visible with the faintly glowing red they emit from the sides of the bottle. "Hey look, I caught a new recruit." he tells the others, only to promptly wiggle the vial in their directions. "Looks like another Nephandus from way the fuck out there fucking with things on our turf. Should be easy enough to convert him to our side and let him get back to doing his shit for the Father instead of his own amusement. Everyone likes some direction."
