Laughs-In-Darkness was born in the dry wasteland of Zulu-Natal, a nation in Africa. He was born among the packs of Hyenas that roam the land, hunting prey with cunning ferocity. His Change came when a jeep full of Blacktooth funded poachers came, and the result was bloody on both sides. He wandered into the nearest, war-torn town in homid form, panicked and covered in blood.
He was taken in by a small orphanage, which was built to house the orphans from the numerous wars that plagued the land. He learned to speak from them, and to act more like a human. The people thought that he was a feral child, abandoned in the wilderness. It was in this village that the other Ajaba found him, and he joined their harsh and hard war against the Simba tyrant Blacktooth, and his regime.
He discovered his mate, one of the Ajaba kin, during the war. However, during the final push to destroy Blacktooth, she was butchered by the Simba's men. The Ajaba was heartbroken, and in his pure need to get revenge on her killer, he turned to dark spirits. Banes grew strong on the long war, fed fat from the hate and bloodshed in the land. He gave himself over to them, offering his loyal service in return for the destruction of the Simba who murdered his mate.
When vengeance was done, Laughs-In-Darkness led numerous Fera packs and bands into Wyrm ambushes, and with every Gaian death he lost a little more of his mind. Eventually, the Ahadi discovered his true loyalties, and the man fled Africa. He came to America, a land rife with servants of the Wyrm, and has moved across the country, seeking the place where he can do the most good for his new, true Father.
