=============================== Public Policy ================================ Message: 11/1 Posted Author IC introductions Sun Jan 14 WhoopingCrane ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ '+policy ic introductions' ('+policy intros' for short) has been added. This covers some getting-started questions that come up once in a while, and also attempts to sort out a few potential points of confusion. ============================================================================== =============================== Public Policy ================================ Message: 11/2 Posted Author IC property transfer Sat Jan 27 WhoopingCrane ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ '+policy inactive' has been updated to clarify the terms for transferring build projects (approved and on grid and not just +rent units) left behind by inactive players. Please let us know if there are any questions or suggestions on this topic. ============================================================================== =============================== Public Policy ================================ Message: 11/3 Posted Author Unbondable merit Wed Feb 28 WhoopingCrane ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ '+rules blood bond' has been updated to cover the Unbondable merit: limits on buying it post-chargen, higher cost and risk implications for ghouls. (Higher cost for ghouls is canon, it's just pointed out because you wouldn't catch it from reading the main rulebook alone.) ============================================================================== =============================== Public Policy ================================ Message: 11/4 Posted Author Abilities enhancing mage magic Sat Mar 03 WhoopingCrane ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ http://coh.spork.com/index.php?title=Mage_Charts has been updated, specifically the notes on 'Researches lore on subject before using magic'. This adds a couple options (shouldn't make a huge difference in practice) and clarifications. ============================================================================== =============================== Public Policy ================================ Message: 11/5 Posted Author Bygones reopening Sun Apr 01 WhoopingCrane ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Applications for these rare and ancient creatures from The Bygone Bestiary are being reopened on a staff-discretion basis. Limit one (at a time) per player. ============================================================================== =============================== Public Policy ================================ Message: 11/6 Posted Author IC News equals IC knowledge Mon Apr 02 WhoopingCrane ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Because there was a recent misunderstanding, and because this isn't the first time it's happened, I will attempt to clarify this further: Any post to the IC News bboard (#12) is available as IC knowledge to any PC who wants to handwave 'I heard about that'. If that's not what you want, then do not post it to IC News (#12). (This also applies to the 'IC News for <year>' bboards, where older posts are eventually moved.) The only exception to this is if staff determines that the post was invalid (e.g. 'someone would have ICly intervened'), in which case staff will clearly announce such. ============================================================================== =============================== Public Policy ================================ Message: 11/7 Posted Author +book approval/rejection Wed Apr 04 WhoopingCrane ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ I've gone through and updated approval (+) / rejection (-) flags for some of the books in the +book database. This is not and never will be an exact science - we don't have time to review every page of every book, and we may approve a few selected things from a rejected book or vice versa - but at least it should give everyone a better idea of what's on the table. ============================================================================== =============================== Public Policy ================================ Message: 11/8 Posted Author Awareness cleanup Sun Apr 08 WhoopingCrane ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ '+rules awareness' has been broken up into sections (long overdue), with a new section on timing (for e.g. countermagic in combat) and a couple other adjustments. Easiest way to see what's different is here -> http://coh.spork.com/index.php?title=House_RulesFAwareness&diff=129334&oldid=9 9657 ============================================================================== =============================== Public Policy ================================ Message: 11/9 Posted Author +xpnoms Tue Apr 24 HoneyBadger ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ There are a couple of things I would like to mention about the +xp/nom system. *+xp/nom is intended for good RP. Simply posing leaning against the wall for several hours, should not get you a +xp/nom. We approve those, if they're well-written, but +xp/nom is supposed to be a reward for good RP, not for participation. If everyone in the scene is good RP, then by all means, nom them, but just posing in doesn't get you XP. That's what +vote is for. *ALMOST ALWAYS, we will approve ACTING and CONCEPT together. So if you think someone did a good job in the scene, +xp/nom them for both, rather than just ACTING. Some say 'Well, I don't know what their concept is!' Well, if they're RPing, that's probably part of their concept. Give them 2 xp for their good rp instead of 1. If they showed heroism or they learned something, then maybe they can get three or four XP instead of just that one! These are just suggestions. If you want to continue nomming everyone in the room for concept alone, then we will still process them just as we always have: with a mighty 'meh'. ============================================================================== =============================== Public Policy ================================ Message: 11/10 Posted Author Touched background Fri May 04 WhoopingCrane ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ '+rules shifter misc' has been updated to clarify a potential ambiguity with the Wyld version of the Touched background. ============================================================================== =============================== Public Policy ================================ Message: 11/11 Posted Author 'Unsoakable' tweaks Thu May 24 WhoopingCrane ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ After some staff discussion about how White Wolf is /totally consistent across all game lines ever/, I've updated http://coh.spork.com/index.php?title=Combat#Soak to limit 'unsoakable' to blowback rather than offense. (As usual: Discussion of this change should go on bb 7. We may decide to reverse or further adjust this house rule down the road, but it ain't a democracy; you still have to convince me that a change would be better for the game overall. Closed PRPs and such can handwave whatever approach they prefer.) ============================================================================== =============================== Public Policy ================================ Message: 11/12 Posted Author +rules technology Thu May 24 WhoopingCrane ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ A routine entry to make it unambiguous that, no, we are not stuck with 1990s tech just because that's when the books were written. (Not something that comes up often, but we have occasionally been asked.) ============================================================================== =============================== Public Policy ================================ Message: 11/13 Posted Author +rules stat caps Thu May 24 WhoopingCrane ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This covers 'power X raises stat Y but doesn't say whether it can raise stat Y above its normal max'. (Default no, except for some inherent racial things which are either summarized for convenience, or house-ruled because I couldn't find something explicit in canon. Please +request if you think any specific additional exceptions should be added.) ============================================================================== =============================== Public Policy ================================ Message: 11/14 Posted Author '+policy prp' updates Thu Jul 05 WhoopingCrane ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Because these have come up a number of times: * 'Is cross-sphere' is now explicitly listed as a thing that you should communicate to participants up front. While these are allowed, they can easily become more complex in terms of ICC as well as game mechanics, and some players may be more selective about them. * If the PRP is mentioned on an IC news bboard, then just like everything else on said bboard, it's fair game for /anyone/ to ICly react to. If you don't want that, then don't post there, and make sure your participants know not to post it there either. (The Cutscenes bb is okay if you just want to show off 'oh man this pose was so cool!' without ICly disclosing it.) ============================================================================== =============================== Public Policy ================================ Message: 11/15 Posted Author +rules changeling realms Sat Jul 07 WhoopingCrane ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This has been added to clarify some things that were glossed over in canon, mostly dealing with kinain as well as less common types of changeling (Nunnehi etc). Hopefully all clear and uncontroversial, hit us up with any questions/concerns as usual. ============================================================================== =============================== Public Policy ================================ Message: 11/16 Posted Author Advanced combat Sun Jul 22 WhoopingCrane ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ http://coh.spork.com/index.php?title=Advanced_Combat We're starting with Martial Arts (from KotE but available to all races) and shifter pack tactics (which were always allowed, but now have a wiki write-up because White Wolf made some mistakes and also didn't account for fera). Coming up soon will be Do (for Akashics), Kailindo (for Stargazers), and probably also the extra martial arts maneuvers from KotE Companion. ============================================================================== =============================== Public Policy ================================ Message: 11/17 Posted Author Brohain removed Thu Jul 26 WhoopingCrane ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The player of Brohain / Chullain / Sasha / Tormod / Wilder was banned this past weekend. * On multiple occasions, he was an overbearing jackass both IC and OOC (especially through off-game channels) when another man socialized with one of his bedmates or some other IC situation didn't go his way, in some cases escalating his IC response to the point of cartoon villainy. * We'd noticed significant circumstantial evidence that he was the player of Kidd (+bbread 11/203). Similar IP address, similar RL job, similar desc style, similar pose style, similar pattern of intermittent but fairly serious bad behavior. Still, we'd previously lifted some bans dating back to the Sponge/Coyote era, so I decided to wait and watch. * The tipping point was the attempt to resolve some ICC likely to lead to Brohain being PKed for the aforementioned cartoon villainy. ('You refused my generous offer? I'll use nightmares to grind down your Willpower and make you think it was a terrible mistake!') He repeatedly dragged his heels on RL scheduling, abusing the RL-medical-problems card (I trust his problems are genuine but he still abused them as an excuse). He grasped at multiple straws in an attempt at 'nuh-uh, they totally couldn't track me down'. And when I warned him that he was already on thin ice, he had the gall to (a) ask why and (b) address the question to HB instead of me. * While brainstorming regarding the above, we did some more digging into the 'Brohain = Kidd' theory, which quickly went from 'significant' to 'overwhelming'. Multiple phrases / sentence structures were repeated across both multiple Kidd alts and multiple Brohain alts, and apparently Kidd was using the name 'Chullain' elsemu* while threatening to hack it and bring it down. In retrospect, I may need to apologize for not taking this course of action sooner. Weighing 'is this player trying to improve' against 'are they driving good players away' never comes lightly, as some of you have noticed over the years. (Mind you, a couple people have managed to wave the 'I'm a super jackass' flag even before becoming a player.) Please submit a +request if you have any interest in the IC fate of one of these characters. (Brohain's has already been settled, possibly also some of the others but I'd have to double check.) ============================================================================== =============================== Public Policy ================================ Message: 11/18 Posted Author '+policy antagonist PCs' update Sun Jul 29 WhoopingCrane ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This bullet point has been added: * Be aware that you may be putting yourself and other PCs in your faction on the radar of an opposing faction that outnumbers and outguns them, which may be OOCly unwanted by one or both sides. Even if you're okay with being PKed, consider how to have the PKs stop there while still making IC sense. ============================================================================== =============================== Public Policy ================================ Message: 11/19 Posted Author Advanced combat: Do, etc. Sun Jul 29 WhoopingCrane ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Do (for Akashic Brotherhood mages) has been added. Also the extra maneuvers from KotE Companion. Next up will be Kailindo, then Klaive Dueling. ============================================================================== =============================== Public Policy ================================ Message: 11/20 Posted Author Advanced combat: Kailindo Sun Jul 29 WhoopingCrane ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This one is now added as well. We may tweak the mentoring requirements a bit, but this is good enough to get started at least. ============================================================================== =============================== Public Policy ================================ Message: 11/21 Posted Author Shifter Beast Courts Tue Jul 31 WhoopingCrane ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ We now officially support the Beast Courts, including renown. See 'Hengeyokai Renown' on wiki for All The Things. * In chargen, set Affiliation = Beast Courts, then set Glory Virtue Wisdom to appropriate values (and blank out any other renown categories from your quickstart). * Existing PCs who already self-identify as Beast Courts or now wish to do so, submit a +request to be converted. ============================================================================== =============================== Public Policy ================================ Message: 11/22 Posted Author Custom apoc forms (less limited) Sat Aug 04 WhoopingCrane ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The limit on customizing your apocalyptic form has been expanded from 'must keep at least 2 low-torment and 2 high-torment features' to 'must keep at least 1 feature, either low or high'. (This is the canon limit from DPG 98 but I probably overlooked it back in the day.) Changes can be requested using +xpreq or just +request (staff will figure out what you mean). ============================================================================== =============================== Public Policy ================================ Message: 11/23 Posted Author Combat and magic specialties Sun Aug 05 WhoopingCrane ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ As far as I know, the rule 'specialties don't apply to combat or supernatural powers' has no support in canon, and was purely a house rule from the old days. After some discussion, we decided to remove it. Specialties previously approved for RP flavor can now be used in actual game mechanics, new ones can be requested. Specialties still apply only to attributes and abilities. Example: Auspex 4 (Telepathy) doesn't get its own specialty, but if either part of its dice pool (Intelligence + Subterfuge) is 4+ and has a specialty of 'Telepathy', then that does apply. Specialties also need to be reasonably narrow in scope, using book examples as guidelines, e.g. Melee could have a specialty of 'swords', but 'bladed weapons' would be overly broad. ============================================================================== =============================== Public Policy ================================ Message: 11/24 Posted Author +banality update Sun Aug 05 WhoopingCrane ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ +banality (and the +glance tie-in) has been updated to work for anyone with a non-zero Glamour rating. This includes some PCs with the Kinain merit, and excludes hsien (as neither they nor their magic difficulty is affected by Banality in the western-changeling style anyhow). ============================================================================== =============================== Public Policy ================================ Message: 11/25 Posted Author '+rules magical items' tweaks Mon Aug 06 WhoopingCrane ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Rules are updated to be more liberal about which ability determines your various house-ruled caps, and also to explicitly encourage handwaving low-priority items that are just for RP flavor. ============================================================================== =============================== Public Policy ================================ Message: 11/26 Posted Author XP transfer tweaks Wed Aug 15 WhoopingCrane ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ '+policy xp transfer' has been updated to explicitly document some guidelines that have emerged over the years, and also include a more generous retirement option for kinfolk with no gifts or other powers. (Plain vanilla mortals are still more generous because they don't have a built-in circle of RP like kinfolk do.) ============================================================================== =============================== Public Policy ================================ Message: 11/27 Posted Author Awareness vs Kenning Sat Aug 18 WhoopingCrane ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Another one cleared out of ancient backlog: Awareness and Kenning have some partial overlap of concept. '+rules kenning' now quantifies the extent to which one can or can't be substituted for the other. ============================================================================== =============================== Public Policy ================================ Message: 11/28 Posted Author +roster as IC info source Mon Aug 20 WhoopingCrane ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ '+help +roster' has been updated to clarify that, if a roster is based on Faction or Affiliation, e.g. '+roster vamcam', then it's okay to handwave learning about other PCs from it. (Some appropriate NPCs filled you in, whatever.) This does /not/ apply to things based solely on other things like Race or Subrace, e.g. '+roster vamp'. ============================================================================== =============================== Public Policy ================================ Message: 11/29 Posted Author No WP on passive Awareness checks Fri Aug 31 WhoopingCrane ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ '+rules awareness triggers' has been updated to clarify that, as usual for passive rolls, you can't spend Willpower for an automatic success on a passive Awareness check. (If your Technocratic amalgam is spying on a suspected Reality Deviant, you should probably be using active sensory procedures instead.) ============================================================================== =============================== Public Policy ================================ Message: 11/30 Posted Author Cubs earning renown Mon Sep 03 WhoopingCrane ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ https://coh.spork.com/index.php?title=Renown#Rank_and_Auspice has been updated to clarify what happens when a PC ranks up from 0->1 post-chargen. In particular, any renown gained prior to Rite of Passage is retained and added (not replaced), as a bonus for cubs who hit the ground running. (Any cubs who already did this in the past should +request whatever bonus they would have gotten, we'll do our best to confirm based on offline archives.) ============================================================================== =============================== Public Policy ================================ Message: 11/31 Posted Author Orpheus projectors open Sun Sep 09 WhoopingCrane ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Chargen for Orpheus projectors is set up, including quickstart and wiki cheat sheet. Orpheus-specific backgrounds/merits/flaws will be added on request. Other code issues and house rules (e.g. +gain/+lose, +rules lores, +rules multiclass) will be updated as we go. For obvious reasons, metaplot elements will be included/omitted strictly at staff discretion. There may be companies hiring projectors, but they're not widely known or accepted as actually accomplishing anything genuinely supernatural. Wraiths will continue to use WtO rules. Orpheus-style spirits and hues may be added at some point in the future, in which case existing PCs will be given an option to get their stats translated. ============================================================================== =============================== Public Policy ================================ Message: 11/32 Posted Author Advanced combat: Klaive Dueling, I Sat Sep 15 WhoopingCrane ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ We've added Klaive Dueling (Players Guide to Garou) and Iskakku (Children of Gaia, but they'll teach others if they care about a non-lethal style for some reason). ============================================================================== =============================== Public Policy ================================ Message: 11/33 Posted Author Slow cheap shifter rites Sat Sep 22 WhoopingCrane ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ '+rules xp' has been updated to allow shifters to learn rites according to WtA 155 (spending weeks of study in lieu of the usual house-ruled XP cost). * You /can/ still buy shifter rites with XP as usual, this is just adding a slower but cheaper option (akin to '+rules instruction'). * Existing requests where we already discussed this option will receive retroactive credit for time passed. Past XP spends are not eligible for refunds on this basis. * Any PC who already knows the rite can play the 'elder'. Learning from a NPC will be adjudicated by staff as usual. * A student can only have this type of timer running on one rite at a time, however you can pause one to work on another for a while. ============================================================================== =============================== Public Policy ================================ Message: 11/34 Posted Author Vampires: +rules appearing human Sun Sep 30 WhoopingCrane ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This is another thing that I wrote up a while back and then never got around to actually installing. Shouldn't be any changes from canon, just summing up a few things in one place for convenience and clarity. ============================================================================== =============================== Public Policy ================================ Message: 11/35 Posted Author +policy posing Sun Sep 30 WhoopingCrane ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Another rough draft that I finally got around to cleaning up. * Power posing and meta posing are broken out and expanded somewhat. * Standard write-up of round robin and 3PR (and machine-gun posing), for the convenience of players new to the mu* format. * Wallflowering: If you pose like a NPC, you'll likely be ignored like a NPC. Also, protocol for 'I didn't pose at all but I was still here IC'. ============================================================================== =============================== Public Policy ================================ Message: 11/36 Posted Author Fang Dagger does not double added Sun Oct 07 Mouse ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This is an expansion of a previous ruling regarding Potence. Fang Dagger says it doubles the number of successes on the "damage /roll/". Staff interprets this to mean unambiguously that any case of adding automatic successes to a damage roll does not get doubled by the use of a Fang Dagger or other doubling mechanic. They are instead added at the end of damage calculation. For example, Cleaving hoof says that the "Dice gained from strength in his damage pool counts as a automatic successes rather than dice". These successes would not be affected by a Fang Dagger. The house rules will be updated and perhaps further clarified shortly. ============================================================================== =============================== Public Policy ================================ Message: 11/37 Posted Author Touched background Sun Oct 07 WhoopingCrane ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ '+rules shifter misc' section on Touched background has been adjusted to bring Willpower rules more in line with canon. Not a huge change, but you might need to budget Willpower a bit more carefully during tough fights. ============================================================================== =============================== Public Policy ================================ Message: 11/38 Posted Author Hengeyokai, Auspices, Gifts Mon Oct 15 Mouse ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ While the five Auspices of the Hengeyokai are not quite the same as their standard counterparts they DO have their own gifts and stipulations. The Hengeyokai auspices correspond to Garou Auspices as follows: - Fist is Ahroun - Pillar is Galliard - Mirror is Theurge - Leaf is Ragabash - Lantern is Philodox By joining the Hengeyokai and gaining an Auspice the shifter in question gains the gifts of that Garou Auspice as in-T/A/B. This is the advantage of being part of the Courts. You can choose an Auspice gift or a Hengeyokai gift in character generation as you prefer. This also means corresponding Auspice gifts are 3xRating XP cost. Courtiers do not have a corresponding Auspice and gain only the Courtier gifts in the Hengeyokai book. ============================================================================== =============================== Public Policy ================================ Message: 11/39 Posted Author +policy horrible bosses Sat Oct 27 WhoopingCrane ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ So you believe the PC leader(s) of your race/faction have gone off the deep end, what are your options (besides apping a different race/faction)? Here are some general guidelines that have emerged from dealing with past cases over the years. ============================================================================== =============================== Public Policy ================================ Message: 11/40 Posted Author +help storyteller Sat Oct 27 WhoopingCrane ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ This is just a short list of basic documentation useful for players interested in taking up the Storyteller mantle. Thanks to Gwydion for suggesting this one. ============================================================================== =============================== Public Policy ================================ Message: 11/41 Posted Author Specialties for mage spheres Sat Nov 03 WhoopingCrane ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Mage lists sample specialties for spheres, but doesn't explicitly state that they work the same as attribute/ability specialties. Both 2nd and 20th do explicitly say so, so we decided this was an oversight in Revised and have updated +specialties code to support them. (This is unrelated to your Tradition/Convention's specialty sphere. This is also unrelated to your specialty foci.) ============================================================================== =============================== Public Policy ================================ Message: 11/42 Posted Author HtR open Wed Nov 14 WhoopingCrane ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Basics from the main rulebook are in place, including a chargen quickstart and cheat sheet. There are some known to-do issues (e.g. +gain and +lose for "Conviction (hunter)", when you run into one then +request and we'll get it worked out. Ditto for requesting addition of new backgrounds, merits/flaws, whatever. As in canon, virtues/edges can't be raised with XP but only by repeatedly battle-testing your Conviction. '+rules multiclass' is also updated to put hunters on basically the same basis as other M+ variations. Hunters should be /highly familiar/ with '+policy risk', '+policy ptmd', '+policy antagonist', '+rules sniping' and '+rules in public'. Enjoy! ============================================================================== =============================== Public Policy ================================ Message: 11/43 Posted Author HtR XP, vs-others, etc. Sat Nov 24 WhoopingCrane ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Hunter house rules have been updated. High points: * For simplicity, I'm adopting the XP costs from Hunter Players Guide, replacing the main book's 'excess Conviction spills over into virtues which give more edges' stuff. However, getting your first edge at a new level (e.g. your first 3 if all your current edges are at 1 or 2) is time-limited on the '+rules shifter rank' scale. This means you can get level 5 edges, but minimum time after chargen (where edges are capped at 2) is 3+6+8=17 months. Alternate edges will be added as e.g. 'Creed Defense' and available at same chargen/XP costs as the regular versions. * Interactions with most other races are documented with references. Most of this is just reiterating canon for convenience. * The two Lost Creeds (Hermit and Wayward) are officially playable. ============================================================================== =============================== Public Policy ================================ Message: 11/44 Posted Author '+rules stat caps' removed Tue Dec 04 WhoopingCrane ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The previous house rule on 'can a supernatural effect raise a stat above its normal max' has been removed. (Raised some questions here and there, and in retrospect wasn't obviously needed. The answer to that question is now 'yes, unless something explicitly states a limit'. Other side effects continue to apply as written, e.g. 'mages suffer problems if they boost their attributes above 5 for long enough'.) ============================================================================== =============================== Public Policy ================================ Message: 11/45 Posted Author Various minor policy tweaks Tue Dec 18 WhoopingCrane ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Here are some updates we've made over the past few weeks. No change in how staff handles things, just documenting some existing practices more clearly. '+policy alts': Clarifies why separation of knowledge is important, but that relaying stuff through someone else's character is generally allowed. '+policy avoidance': Recommends letting staff contact the person you want to avoid, rather than you contacting them directly. '+policy channels': New entry, basic guidelines for Public and Help Me! (where new players are auto-added) vs NC-17 / Debate / Random (opt-in). '+policy communication': Basic guidelines for giving and receiving criticism. '+policy good npcs': New entry, NPC employees default to being competent/loyal/ethical in line with their PC employer's relevant backgrounds/desires. '+policy police gear': Clarifies some +equip details. '+policy xp transfer': Clarifies intent of kinfolk-with-no-powers clause. ============================================================================== =============================== Public Policy ================================ Message: 11/46 Posted Author Various minor +rules updates Tue Dec 18 WhoopingCrane ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Catching up on announcing some updates since the HtR rollout settled down. General * '+rules missing stats': New entry, mostly 'treat them as zero' Vampire * '+rules vampire disciplines': Covers powers that assume the target has virtues * '+rules retainers': Relevant PCs can have retainers with possesed powers / spirit charms Shifter * '+rules shifter misc': Gifts with different levels across splats * '+rules shifter offspring': New entry, compile info from different books and house-rule clarifications * '+rules totem': Bonuses granted to 'packs' in canon still apply to personal totems Mage * '+rules horizon realms': Adjusted to better fit canon and allow more control over the local paradigm * '+rules nephandi': New entry, also covers Infernalists (who may or may not be Nephandi) * '+rules specialties': Sphere specialties are allowed Sorcerer * '+rules sorcerer': Extended casting limited to one day (except Alchemy/Enchantment which can't be extended) * '+rules sorcerer rituals': Rituals can't be extended unless they explicitly say so Demon * '+rules demon misc': Clarifies the ancient Enochian languge (+explain Enochian) ============================================================================== =============================== Public Policy ================================ Message: 11/47 Posted Author No time limits for Arete 1-3 Wed Dec 26 WhoopingCrane ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The house-ruled time limits on mage Seekings (to raise Arete) now apply only to 3->4 and 4->5. (You can canonically Awaken straight to Arete 2 or 3 anyway, so if you choose a lower level, you can increase it to 3 as quickly as you can earn the required XP.) ==============================================================================
