We are the Damhàn. Others call us "spiders" or "Ananasi" (which is fine, it honors our Queen Mother) but we are so much more than just the form we become - would the Garou be satisfied by being called "wolves", no but also not insulted. We are divided by our callings but united in our purpose. We are all children of Queen Ananasa and we will save this world.

The werecats, like all of the Ovid, suffered due to the War of Rage (yes, even the Garou suffer to this day, they just don't know it like the rest of us). Playful and unreliable, I've been advised to keep them at arms' length.
I didn't need to be warned about about the Corax, seen too many birds eat too many of my kind before I metamorphosed even. I've heard that these guys want to gather everyone's secrets and crow them to the four winds (and yes, pun intended).
I have been warned about the Garou. Some werewolves may try to be friendly, some may be useful, some are openly the rabid dogs they all are. Am I going to keep an open mind... absolutely. Am I going to let my guard down... never. I've met some Garou, exceptions to the rule about their kind, perhaps.
If there's a kind of Ovid that's trustworthy its a Gurahl, or so I've heard. Peaceful, to a large extent, and apparently companionable. I have yet to meet one myself but as in all things, seeing is believing.
Lizards, like birds, preyed on my kind as far back as I can personally remember, that said I've been advised that while we Damhàn do not actively associate with the Mokolé, as a group we respect them. Me personally, haven't met one so I'll decide on my own once I have.
Canines like the Garou but less mouth foamy, information gatherers like the Corax but less gosspy. I've heard that these guys and gals like to pretend their actual fools but I've been let in on the secret that they are wiser than they act but still about as trustworthy as the Garou. After all, what's their intention with the info they gather?
They live in trash, they work with trash... but are they trash? Like the Damhàn these beings are more common than the Garou believe. As the original policers of humanity before the War of Rage they may be our closest allies in trying to restore the Triat to their original glory... or they're just wallowers in trash.
Fish. They live in the ocean and we don't. Maybe I'll meet one one day. Until then live and let live is the watch word. I have absolutely no reason to go seeking them. |
Humans. They're apes. Smart apes, sure, but apes none-the-less. They're also full of themselves, thinking they're so all that. However, the elders are right they are both our greatest potential allies and enemies, full of potential and part of what we are fighting for.
Mages are humans with power. Everything about humans turned up to an 11 (that's a movie reference by the way!). I hear they make excellent allies, but like anyone with power, I'm operating under the assumption to keep them reigned in least they become a problem.
Vampires are undead humans with a hankering for blood like us Damhàn. They get the game and they play it better than some but like the Garou they're bundles of rage (just don't let either side hear you saying that - either of them will lose their cool over the comparison).
I've been warned about the restless dead. Sometimes when people are killed they come back. As ghosts! For this reason I've been advised to not kill indiscriminately (seriously why do people think killing is the way of a warrior, sure I'll kill but its not the only option). I hear that these ghosts can be useful sometimes as well though if you can find a way to interact with them. |
The Fae. Who knew they're real. I've met one. There's more according to him. I'm curious to see if they are a threat to our plans or will be useful in executing them. |
