IC information available to the public:

  • Moonhaven is one of the county's most renown winery. Set far away from the hustle and bustle of city life it is ran by a large extended family. The extensive property includes the winery, a private school for the family children, a bell tower, several forms of homes, some communal and some for individual family groups.
  • They have been awarded several awards by the state for their ground breaking 'clean energy' efforts and have for the most part made the entire compound a self-contained ecosystem which requires very little support from the outside world. The facility is the very model of efficient design using the most innovative technologies.
  • In addition to selling wine the family also trains animals, dogs, horses, even hunting falcons, all of which are available to the public at premium prices. Due to security of the expensive animals and the secret Moonhaven brand wine making process which they claim to be a thousand year old family secret, no one is allowed into the compound without an appointment.

IC Rumors:

  • While no one disputes that Moonhaven's products are top-notch, some people say that the compound is ran like a cult. Very few people come out of the compound and they rarely talk about anything but the business aspect of life in the farming community when they do.
  • It's said that those people are so backwards most of the time they don't even wear clothing.
  • Rumors have it that there have been huge bonfires spotted from the distance with people dancing around it leading animals in large numbers.
  • Rumor has it that once the IRS tried to close down the farm but for some reason the investigation was called off and the IRS refuses to even admit there ever -was- an investigation.
  • There are even rumors of cousins marrying cousins inside the family and worse.
  • The locals in the next city over will tell you, when those Moonhaven people come into town they are a strange lot. Nice.. but strange.
  • If you go back far enough in the city lore you'll hear stories about a Pastor from a local church who went up to Moonhaven to save the souls of those heathens, it was over sixty years ago and he wasn't heard from for three days. When he finally did come back he abandoned his church, sold everything he owned and moved to Moonhaven to be the husband of one of those Moonies. He was never seen or heard from again!
