Introduction King Breweries and Distilleries is a subsidiary of Pentex that is committed to spread alcoholism in a vicious combination with Wyrm-Taint. They operate mainly in North America, but have subsidiaries of their own all over the world. Everyone enjoys a good cold one now and then. It's just a way to blow off some steam. No matter if it's a Sam Adams, a refreshing Coors Light, or an imported Guinness, no one can call you an alcoholic for having a nice beer after a long day. Unless you're drinking King Breweries. Then you're probably even worse off. Kings isn't just a beer brewer. With Pentex's aid, it has gained a massive network of beers and other alcohols to flood America with. King Breweries and Distilleries is actually a hodgepodge of seven distinct corporate entities ranging in size from a small, wholly owned microbrewery in Rhode Island to King Breweries itself, the fourth-largest beer producer in the United States. King Breweries and Distilleries is actually the name of the umbrella organization and the Pentex holding company under which all seven are organized. King Breweries is, of course, the largest of the companies under the aegis of this particular branch of Pentex. The other six, in size order, are: • King Spirits, which manufactures various distilled alcoholic beverages for sale under the King and associated labels • Ruskaiya Distilleries, a manufacturer of generic vodka which sells its product to various repackagers and resellers • Dragon Valley Vineyards, an up-and-comer in the highly competitive California wine industry • King Imports, the American distributor for several European, Asian and Caribbean beers. • Thaw Beverages, which manufactures seltzers, tonic water and other mixers • Ten Tickle Ales, a microbrewery entirely owned and funded by King Breweries. Directors hold authority over their individual Departments. Company-wide decisions require majority approval of the Board. Director of the Board holds two votes for purposes of Board decisions. The Board also has King family member (NPCs) sitting on it outside of the main departments. Administration will call department head meetings, and lead planning of goals and synergy between departments. With the restructure, Administration has gained the responsiblity for tracking down new companies to add to the family, as well as acting as the company's emissaries to other supernatural forces allied with the Wyrm. Sales and Marketing Sales and Marketing Department is responsible for the conitnual advertising and branching out of the company in terms of product reaching the consumers. Special Projects Special Projects Department is responsible for the research and development that is too clearly Wyrm-tainted to be public. Security Security Department is responsible for ensuring the safety of company property, and to a lesser extent, its employees. This department also includes the First Teams elite unit. Character Generation Important +sheet information for new players: Affiliation should be set to Pentex. Pentex Subsidiary should be set to King Breweries. Pentex Department should be set to Administration, Sales/Marketing, Security, or Special Projects. Players are encouraged to contact their future department leader(s) during chargen or before recruitment to discuss concept, placement in the organization, and advancement opportunity. Players are allowed to start with Pentex Rank (background) at 1. Advancement opportunities beyond 1 are discussed below. Buying a dot of Home Base, either during or after chargen, is heavily encouraged. Players with the Home Base Background receive significant advantages from the King Breweries and Distilleries Home Base, which are unavailable without at least one dot of Home Base.
