♦The Desert Tortoise Court:
Once upon a time, in a land far away, the Black Tortoise Court, also called the Wandering Court, was one of the Five August Courts of the Fourth Age. It encompassed northern East Asia and thus represented the North Direction. During the early Fourth Age, the Black Tortoise Court was one of the first organizations to meet western vampires. Then all hell broke loose. Literally. Around the 14th century, the last remaining uncorrupted of the Black Tortoise Court split. One faction joined the Yellow Emperor and White Tiger Court in the creation of the Quincunx, the other declared its independence from Heaven and Hell and vanished into history. Until now. Some whisper that its legacy lives on in the here and now of the American West. That it has in fact BEEN living on in secret in the West for some time, as part of a heretofore untold Great Leap Westward that predated the more commonly known Leap West of recent times. The Desert Tortoise Court is rumored to roam the Mojave Desert, with the legendary Lost Necropolis of Xianyin as their base of operations.
